I felt like I paid for a foot and leg scrub and massage, and I got perfectly polished toes as a bonus. $50 for deluxe pedicure, worth every penny (regular is $35 and I am sure it is great too, but I needed some serious pampering today). read more

I am just finishing up the most incredible pedicure. I just stopped on a whim after i got my haircut and I saw Bella Nails and Spa was open. So I came in and Jenny did my feet. She was so gentle and thorough. I have hang nails and she knew exactly what to do. Plus she worked on my callouses till my feet were as soft as a baby's bottom. Even if that was all there was I would've been very happy. But then she did a leg massage and even used some hot stones after on my calves. Oh and yeah, they have massage chairs that you sit in. You get what you pay for. $20 for cut, $25 for wash and cut, & $40 for wash, cut and hairdry. I walked in not sure which hairstylist to go with and I went with the lady who was free. I didn't get her name but it's probably Nan or Ann? I requested a trim with layers. Let's just say after the haircut I walked out as if my hair was just chopped short. My side bang is not evenly nicely trimmed. No effort or level of hair layering that I'm used to. I have a hairstylist I trust from SF, but he moved to South San Francisco so I figured to try a place closer in the Marin area. Lesson learned, never stray from what you're comfortable with, especially if it comes to hair. I'd even rather go to my other Chinese hairstylist I trust in the Richmond District of SF. The lady was sniffling, sneezing and coughing as well. I get it, people get sick or have allergies but after wiping her nose with the backside of her hand she proceeded to cut my hair. My OCD-ness was internally mortified as I really wished to just walk out. Common courtesy! After a few sneezes, wipes and coughing she finally excused herself to restroom to continue coughing and blowing her nose. The unfortunate part is that I didn't hear water from the faucet to indicate hand washing. At least use a kleenex or something! There was also a trail of ants on her counter too...I felt super grossed out. I'm never coming back. I'd rather drive into SF and South San Francisco going forward. Nan does a wonderful pink and white. It holds up better than any other. Her sister Lily gives a wonderful pedicure with the most relaxing massage. I used to see nan at another shop years ago and I was pleasantly surprised to see she had a salon upstairs in the precision 8 space on sir Francis Drake. read more

Kim gives a great haircut. No frills, but reasonable price and I don't need frills. Spending too much time getting a cut so price can be justified is just not my cup of tea. If you are thinking of coming here for a balayage because it is cheap, please don't. I wanted a balayage and left with extremely damaged hair that is falling off my scalp. My scalp was literally peeling for a few days because of how bad the chemical burn was. The hair stylist left the bleach in my hair while she was helping other people which any hair dresser would know is a bad idea considering bleach is time sensitive. The bottom of my hair was white and the rest was left yellow. left the salon and cried in my car because of how damaged my hair is. Please do not go here. Its a cheap hair cut... so I didn't expect much, I suggest you don't either. The workers didn't not care that I was there. No one asked my name, I didn't get theirs either. The lady who did my hair was talking to her client next to me the whole time, other than asking a few things about the cut I wanted. I would've gave 3 stars at least be the cut was ok, esocecially for the price, BUT The chair and the cape were covered with someone else's hair! I was going to put pink color after I get home, but luckily they had the color I liked;) so they added pink after they bleached my hair. I love it!! I thought I had found a great place close to home as Kim gave me a good haircut a few weeks back. Brought my young son in here because Eddie over at the Children's Hair Club was all booked up. I saved $5 by coming here, but we didn't get Kim but rather some lady that barely spoke and simply pushed my son's head aside when she wanted him to move his head - and overall could work on her bedside manner as she seemed to be put off by us being there. Not really sure why... After his cut, my son asked if we could go back to Eddie next time around and if we could please never go back to that mean lady again. If I can get over the bad taste this experience left in my mouth, I might return to Kim for a haircut since she did do a good job with me and was very personable. Both Kim and Lan are great hairstylists! Lan does a great job with my hair and I love the highlights she did for my wedding. Subtle and not overwhelming, they looked great on the wedding day :) If you're needing a gorgeous hair-do for any special occasion, be sure to look for Lan! I realize that, as someone who is both picky AND cheap, my values are in direct conflict with each other when it comes to finding a hair salon that accomodates my fashion and financial needs. Precision 8 is a place where I can feel comfortable with the cut I'm received while not feeling ripped off, which is indeed a rare gem. As a note: I wouldn't go here for a super-styled, complex haircut. I have hair that is very thick, very soft, and very curly, so I'll only come here for trims and general maintenance of split ends. They charge no more than $20 per cut, which is fabulous, not to mention that this place is a walkable distance right down the hill from my house. For a really good price, I had a pretty awesome hair cut. I used to have really long hair, and then I spontaneously decided to chop most all of it off. No appointment needed. The compliments on my new bob are overwhelmingly positive. I would have given this place 5 stars, but -1 star for somewhat cold service. She did not really engage me and at first was not very friendly when she was clearly very nice to the lady she was working with before me. I am not so sure what the name of the person who cut my hair was, because she didn't really introduce herself. Maybe if I come here often, she will remember me and open up! I am unselfishly writing this review about Nan and Lily that do nails..They are upstairs @Precision which is a bummer because I wish they had street level visibility. The reason I say unselfish is because many of Nan and Lily's clients may want to keep them a secret from the rest of you. They are THE MOST AMAZING manicurists in all of Marin. They are not going to treat you like another number. They will fill your bowl with roses and fruit, stone massage, long luxuries massages and expert mani/pedis. Had an awesome experience at this place. I went in to get my very long hair cut very short and I am happy with the result! Sadly I can't remember the name of the woman who did my hair (ann or lan maybe?), but she took directions very well unlike other comments have mentioned. It is all about letting them know exactly what you want even if it requires saying it multiple times in different ways. That is the key to getting what you really want. I was able to make an appointment in the same day which was very convenient. When I came in I only waited about 5 minutes (I was late haha) but they didn't seem to mind. I was done with in 45 minutes (I wanted more than half my hair shopped off) but I left with a very good experience. read more

Very confused about all of the great reviews for haircuts. My daughters went in for a trim and both came out with uneven cuts. The layers were blunt and choppy and the length was lopsided. We had to get the cuts fixes at Sproos. I really thought we were going to find a real gem of a place based on the reviews. I don't know what happened, the cuts were really simple. I get my highlights done by Kim at Precision 8. After my second child I could no longer afford spending $500 on highlights every six weeks. My mom has used Kim for years and recommended that I try her. The service is good, not as good as my $500 hair dresser but the price is also a lot less. At Precision 8 it usually costs around $100 for a full head of highlights (I should mentioned that I have A LOT of hair, and it's down to my tailbone). I really hate to do this, but after leaving with soaking wet hair, I am a little bit disappointed. I went in for a color touch up and the one hair stylist that was working was very busy. I get it. After the color was on for nearly an hour which is longer than usual, I was told that I would have to wait for 2 other customers before she could dry my hair which would probably have taken an hour. It would have taken only 5 min to blow dry my hair.. I will go somewhere else next time. read more
