Absolutely loved my experience here! The salon is beautiful, spacious, and welcoming. Booking an appointment was incredibly easy, and I loved that checkout was completely remote and seamless. I am very picky about my hair, especially when it comes to keeping my length, and Lizet completely understood the assignment! She listened to exactly what I wanted, kept my length, and somehow still made my hair look and feel completely refreshed. She perfected my hair, and my hair is back to healthy! read more

I came back for another haircut and I do want to start by saying that I really like my stylist. He always does a great job, and I've actually recommended him to other people because I trust his work. That being said, the front desk experience was disappointing again. This time it was the main girl who handles scheduling (last time she wasn't there and another staff member who helps with blow-drying was covering, and that experience was just as annoying). During my appointment -- while I literally had hair all over my face -- she walked up asking me to book my next appointment and pay. I had to tell her I couldn't even see because there was clearly hair covering my face. It was obvious. It just felt like she wasn't reading the room at all. Moments like that really disrupt the vibe of the appointment. It feels unprofessional and honestly gives me the ick. When someone interrupts the flow like that, it takes away from the experience and, in my opinion, probably affects people's tips too because it kills the mood right before checkout. Obviously, I'm gonna pay before I leave and schedule my next appointment. I feel like she doesn't read the room and comes at the most inconvenient time. It's kind of a buzz kill. I genuinely like my stylist and the work he does, but if this continues to happen, I might have to reconsider coming back. read more

I can't recommend Sharon enough. She created such a welcoming environment that I felt comfortable sharing all my concerns upfront -- and she delivered flawlessly on my haircut and extensions cut. Her chair is a place where you feel genuinely heard. The overall vibe was perfect!! read more

I have used their services two times and after the last service I can confidently say the cut would be two stars. I found that the hairstylists were very kind but were uninspired and did not try to provide the haircut I was hoping for. No use even showing them a picture because they don't actually even try to achieve your desired look. If you're looking for a basic trim then this place might be for you. If you're looking to mix things up and great hairstyling, I'd look elsewhere. read more

This was my first time at The Current and I booked a layered haircut with Amanda. She was professional, friendly, listened to my needs and EXCEEDED my expectations. She did an amazing job with styling and providing feedback. The overall experience was amazing and I would definitely book her again! 10/10 read more

I've had great experiences with both Stephanie and Erika. Both provided excellent services and great cuts. They really put in the time, effort and advice. Loved the salon. However, the online-only booking experience is less than ideal. Maybe it's true that the entire salon is booked up 3 months out? Can't say. Tried booking online, using the appointment bot, and leaving a message to inquire further, but got nowhere. Given that it's April 21st, and next available appointment seems to be in mid July, unfortunately looks like I will have to pursue other options. read more

I highly recommend getting your next cut with Jordan Azzolino!!! I've tried multiple salons across the Bay Area and he is by far the best. Extreme attention to detail, patient, and really understood what looks best for my face. read more

I have been going to the Current Marin since the past few months. Loved my haircuts by Emmalee and the vibe Current Marin offers.

I had a haircut with Emmalee, and she was AMAZING!! Was super friendly, and clearly knew what she was doing because my hair turned out amazing! Will definitely be coming back to her the next time I need a haircut! Cannot recommend her enough. read more

Steph M did an amazing job on my highlights and cut! She took her time and made sure I walked away with exactly what I asked. So happy I found her! read more

I had the best experience at the Current Marin. Stephanie was amazing but so was the woman at the front desk who I didn't catch the name of. This was the best salon experience I've ever had and I will not only be coming back here but recommending it to all my friends. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at The Current Marin. I texted the salon on Thursday hoping for a haircut that weekend and they were able to book an appointment for Saturday morning. All staff were warm and friendly. Sharon asked questions, listened, and understood what I was looking for in a cut. Would definitely recommend this salon. read more

I called to make an appointment and I was told that new clients should get the The Luxury Signature Service ($395-570 depending on stylist) as this would include complete color and cut consultation & design "and just takes so much longer because it's a first appointment (exact words of person booking appointment). I was instructed to send several photos of my hair from different angles as this would allow the stylist to do pre-review. I got to the salon and the stylist had not reviewed the photos and she said, "oh I didn't see the photos, that's ok, we can do the consult now". It was like any other consult at every other salon I've ever been to and I came out with the same color and cut, refreshed. The stylist told me that she depends on tips to live. At a final bill over $600 including tip, I'm still wondering why I drank the Koolaid...I am giving 3 stars: very nice color & cut, but grossly overpriced & not much in the way of a luxury experience. read more

I found a wonderful new Hairstylist her name is Shannon. I was looking for someone new for a wile and she was so great. I scheduled with her again in December and now I have found a new place to go and get my hair done. I can't wait to go back to her in December. read more

The Current Marin - Hair Salons Near Me - San Anselmo, California

This Salon is a real gem in San Anselmo! I just love Stephanie who does an amazing job every time I see her . The first time I went to her couple of years back I didn't even need to explain anything about my hair she knows how to make your hair look beautiful and healthy. They have also taken all the precautions necessary even gone beyond recommendations of safety which is just another reason to go here if making you absolutely gorgeous wasn't enough read more

I hesitate to write this review for purely selfish reasons. But, because I've booked 8 months out I will let you all in on the best-kept secret ;-) These ladies are the real deal. I see Jenna for my color/cut. My goal is the creamy, beige, nordic blonde of my youth and she delivers every single time. My color is always spot on and my cuts are always current and gorgeous. The entire team is clearly amazing as my sister in law sees Stephanie and her hair is nothing short of stunning. From the moment that you book to walking out the door feeling gorgeous your entire experience will not disappoint. If you are looking for amazing hair, color, and/or cut, you have found your spot - Run don't walk to The Current. read more

Just got a really great haircut from Erika! Will be back. Love that their prices are reasonable too.

the salon only books appointments by email or text. so I emailed the salon specifically requesting FULL highlights and a cut. I wanted a stylist who was experienced with my type of hair. they came back to me with an appointment for a friday. i asked if they had availability on a saturday but if not, i would take the appointment on friday. after some back and forth regarding a concierge service that would prepay them in advance, which appears they just couldn't grasp (a simple concept where all they would need to do is answer the call and accept credit card payment a week early!), they suddenly switched to partial highlights for my appointment. i made it clear in my first email that i wanted full highlights (I have an email thread proving this) but now they can only offer me a weekday appointment another week or two later. this salon has a real lack of customer service and an expectation that customers should accommodate their schedule. there wasn't even an apology for their mistake. it was such a bad impression, felt like i needed to go out of my way to get an appointment and I truly felt like i wasted my energy and time on them. I made an appointment at a high end salon in the city instead, which also books appointments by email, and the customer service was exceptional. you could feel that they valued their clients, unlike The Current Marin. I felt like i dodged a bullet. read more

I had a haircut and style here with Erika. They were all super friendly and accommodating. This was my first time going and I had heard outstanding reviews from many of my friends. I waited a while to get an appointment, but I'd say it's worth the wait. Along with great service, everyone was also super friendly to my tiny furry friend, ella :) read more

Super disappointed. I had an appointment here to get my hair done right before several special events and when I walked in it was jam packed full of people and not one was wearing a mask- like it literally looked like they were having a party in there. I asked to be taken to a space where I could be safer / more protected and was denied any real options. It's fine if not everyone wants to make the same choices but there should at least be a safe option or some sort of warning that they are no longer honoring the masking as they were 5 weeks ago. Now I have to try to find a new stylist during the holidays and right before a photo shoot. I have been coming here all year and have dropped thousands $$$ but won't be returning. read more

I adore this salon! The women who run it are so inspiring and talented. I feel very comfortable with the protections they've put in place in the pandemic and admire the way they've adapted in these impossible times. I got my hair done for the first time in a year by Jenna and felt completely transformed afterwards. Highly recommend and encourage you to support! read more

I had a blowout with one of their assistants who is in training to be a stylist. The young woman was lovely and tried very hard. I expected that it would take her longer which it did- about 90 minutes including the shampoo. I've had a lot of blowouts and it was just okay. I think she would really benefit from direct hands-on guidance from one of the senior stylists- though she was open to my feedback. The fee was 40 and I left a very generous tip. read more

Kristina is the very best - she couldn't be sweeter, and her hair skills are on point. I finally went back after a year of no hair cuts due to COVID, and I am beyond thrilled with the cut. She took the time to find out what I wanted, lovely scalp massage, thorough cut. And I feel very comfortable with their precautions - it's a big airy space, everyone wearing masks, plenty of space and dividers between stations. read more

The pandemic has made a lot of very important things clearer for me, one of which was that I didn't want to reach the end of my life having never gone platinum. Priorities, right? I've always envied those with icy locks, but each time I've gone for lightening services elsewhere I've ended up with hair that was either pretty, but fried, or flat-out the wrong color. My skin tone is such that I can't pull off a golden blonde and I really need a bright ash, which from previous experience with other stylists, seems like it's not super easy to do. When my last stylist left the salon I used to go to, I stumbled across The Current and was lucky enough to score an appointment with Jenna, one of the owners. Jenna not only fixed my warm roots, but she also got me beautifully bright and icy, and my hair feels, dare I say, healthy! It's long, it's bright, it's soft, and I get compliments everywhere I go. Jenna is a sweetheart and very passionate about her work, and I'm so grateful to have found her. The salon is bright, airy, clean and friendly, and the experience of going there is pleasant and relaxing. What more could you ask for? read more

I absolutely adore this salon and my stylist Steph! I've been a client of Steph for a couple of years now and won't go to anyone else. I feel so at ease and at home in her chair, and she really feels like an old friend. She is incredibly skilled, my color, extension and styling are always on point! I now bring my daughter to her as well for fun color and sweet cuts. On top of that the salon itself is gorgeous, opulent yet super chill. Incredible vibe, incredible people. Great experience, every time!! read more

This review is long overdue but I'm happy to give it! I've been a Stephanie fan girl for a while now and was thrilled when she and her business partner opened The Current! First, the salon is so clean and beautiful without being stuffy at all. It's airy, bright, and very relaxing. Second, the quality of Stephanie's work is stellar. She's cut and colored my hair for years and also provided styling for special occasions. She also gave my boyfriend a fantastic cut and gave my daughter her first-ever highlights, which she loves! Just as important as her talent and skill however is that she's super sweet, totally reliable, smart, and flexible. Serious five stars! read more

The cutest salon! Great location & space - all the women that work here are lovely. My hairs have never looked better.

Absolutely love this place! The space is beautiful and I am always beyond satisfied with my hair. I would say that all the services are priced at a reasonable amount and the experience is always lovely. If you're in search of a new salon, look no further-this is your new favorite spot! read more

My appointment had to be canceled 2 times because of the pandemic, however Marin County opened! When they were able to, The Current Marin re-scheduled my appointment and of course I took the first one available - it happened to be on July 4! I was so excited to be there. The salon is set up in a safe manner, with making sure you wait in your car until texted to come in so no chance of crossing other clientele. Also there is sanitizer on the counter when you arrive, and your temperature is taken. Thank you for your safety measures The Current Marin! As well, I got the haircut I asked for - Thanks to Kristina! Even though I live in Petaluma, I am loyal to The Current Marin! read more

I am so impressed with Amy and the ladies at The Current Marin. The design of this place inside and out is absolutely beautiful and so well thought out. Everything is very current and up to date. They have all of the latest hair tools and everything is so nice. I absolutely loved the vibe there, and how the ladies step up and help each other. Amy did an amazing job. I have went to a few different places over the last couple of years and not been happy since moving here with my hair. I feel like I finally found my hair person. Blonde isn't an easy color and she killed it! Not only does it look amazing but it feels amazing and so healthy after getting a full high light. My hair feels better then it did before I got there which has not been the case when getting my hair done at other places. These women know what they are doing and they care. I would highly recommend going to The Current Marin! read more

Can't say enough fantastic things about Stephanie and the staff at The Current! I'm naturally brunette and Stephanie took my lifeless, brassy hair and turned it into my hair into magical, natural looking blonde! She is simply the BEST with blondes. Beautiful space, talented artists! Stephanie has been doing my hair for years and I'm so happy with it! She and the rest of the team really know color, tones and technique. Beautiful salon with so many thoughtful touches. I have been seeing one of the salon owners, Stephanie, for cuts, highlights, and balayage for several years and she is pure magic! I trust her implicitly with my hair. She is a true artist and provides an incredibly professional and fun experience from beginning to end. Her passion for her craft is evident. She is always incredibly patient, takes the time to listen to your wants, and is always willing to teach! She has helped me so much with learning how to style my own hair. I always leave her chair feeling incredible. If you're looking for a new hair stylist (and beautiful salon), look no further. P.S. her neck massages at the shampoo bowl are the best and her blow-outs have even survived a Soul Cycle class. Yeah...she's that good ;) read more
