I am always looking for a good place to get the works: manicure, pedicure, wax, etc. Of the many places I've been to so far in Marin, this is by far my favorite (I'm a regular). Pros: -Selection: I need lots of colors. Sometimes I like the traditional french manicure, but other times I like the bright unique colors. This place has a great collection of colors to choose from. -Quality: I always love my manicures here. First off, the ladies really seem to know what they're doing -- I come in with some pretty bad cases of hangnails and bitten nails, and the salon always takes care of all these issues. My manicures are consistently clean-looking and beautiful. My most favorite thing is getting little flowers on my toes during the summertime. (The salon has an ingenious method.) My girlfriends had been so impressed with my manicures that I've taken them here to get their nails done as well. -Service: I am REALLY sensitive (ticklish?) when it comes to my feet. I warned the lady, and she took care to not make me uncomfortable during my pedicure and accompanying foot massage. The care I received for my eyebrow wax was also great. The lady took the time to look at my face and see what shape would compliment it. She also listened to me when I told her I didn't want my eyebrows too thin. Finally, I just appreciate the friendliness of the staff here. Unlike many places I've been to in the past, this salon actually makes me feel like I'm an appreciated customer. The lady who usually works on my nails always greets me, remembers my sensitive feet, and follows up with me on thins we talked about in my last appointment. For me, this service goes a long way. Cons: -Parking: It can be a hassle to find parking bc the salon's located on a busy street. Usually, I don't mind bc I go here specifically bc of its location near a lot of my favorite stores (especially the gelato place across the street!). read more

This salon is such a great find! The ladies are exceptionally friendly, speak English well (which helps for communicating tricky issues) and they are kind and attentive. I received a meticulous and very thorough pedicure. They use individualized products as well and have many add-on services that are reasonably priced. Salon was clean, and had fresh air due to the front and back door open. A plus for someone sensitive to smells and chemicals! Definitely will be back and highly recommend! I called in early morning and was able to get an immediate appointment. Overall experience was so-so. Not overly crowded or loud as I had an early 10a appointment. I was really turned off by the fact that they didn't turn on my massager chair... I mean come on, it's part of the experience! as a new mom getting a mani pedi is a huge treat so adding a massage to the experience is a BIG deal. Otherwise, staff was courteous and quick. I could see myself returning due to the convenience of the location being 5min away from home. I've been coming here since I was little and have nothing but great things to say. I recently went back for the first time in probably 10 years while staying with my parents, and Victoria remembered exactly who I was and who my mom was (who has also not been in probably 10-15 years). Our apartment in LA flooded so we had to come stay with my mother the month before our wedding (every newlywed's dream...) so I came here a few times as I was still in the process of figuring out my wedding nail choices. There are new owners since September, and their service is great. I went in and for a very reasonable price got a scrub, manicure, pedicure and a parrafin treatment for my feet. I thought they were very kind people and paid a lot of attention to detail. I had gotten an awful gel somewhere else in San Mateo and this salon fixed my nails straight away. They did a pretty design for me and also an 8 year old girl in my party- her nails had very cute stickers and were done 'Frozen' style too. Tried numerous times to give this place a chance but have switched my business to Harmony. The ladies are sweet. That's where it ends. They give no massage with manicures....I even had to ask for some moisturizing lotion after the mani. The final straw was when I made an appointment for two of us, we arrived, and they asked me to come back in 30 because they made 3 other appointments for the exact same time. There are too many nail salons in Marin to keep putting up with poor service. read more

True, it may not be the cleanest salon around, but the service here is friendly and with quality. If you want a spotless salon, go to the Bay Club and pay $50 for a pedi. I got a mani pedi gift certificate for my birthday, and walked in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment. They were gracious and seated me in less than 15. The ladies were kind and laughed a lot, and really took their time massaging my feet and hands. Glad to see employees offer their services with integrity even though they've been pre-paid. I came in for a mani. $13, reasonable price. My cuticle area is quite sensitive, and I'm glad that here they didn't make it bleed, because at other salons sometimes they take off too much skin and the experience goes from relaxing to painful. On a different note, the interior isn't too great. Old-looking yellow walls, not much decoration, visible, giant AC tubes...but at least it's clean. Anyway, my friend and I made reservations but came early, so they just took one of us (but I had to wait a bit). The mani itself was painfree and the lady did a pretty good job. Since the color was sheer she did 3 coats instead of 2, which I appreciated. With the little english that she knew, we were able to make some sort of small talk. All in all, I was satisfied but not impressed, hence the 3 stars. read more

I'm very annoyed. While the price was great, my nails were not. I already had acrylics and I just needed to get them filled. The woman spent at least a half hour filing my nails she almost with threw my real nail. I had one finger where my acrylic had fallen off, so she added a tip but didn't wait for the glue to dry so when she cut it it popped up. One of them has already chipped. read more

Was in the downtown San Anselmo area to run errands and decided to stop by. The shop was clean and organized, employees quick and friendly. Walk-ins are welcome! And even though I had some questions about doing a gel vs. acrylic fill, staff helped me & got me in and out in a timely manner. I've since gotten compliments on my gel manicure. No chipping no messy polish painting or fumbling with the equipment, I'm very pleased! Not your average noisy nail salon either; it was pretty busy when I came but there was none of that chaos I usually dread at other places. Sunny, bright decor, polite staff, and even polite customers will ask you about your day. Maybe it was obvious I was new lol.. Parking can be kind of tough but if you get into one of the bigger parking lots you can just walk along downtown. Went for the first time for an easy lower leg wax last week. I was trying to relax but the wax was pretty hot, I mentioned it to the person waxing me. She said that it feels hot when the weather is hot outside. Then, she would pull the strips and the skin would hurt because she probably applied too much wax. After all, I was happy to have my legs hairless, however, when I looked at some areas, it looked as my skin was peeling, the skin seemed to be burned. I mentioned it and she said that she didn't burn me...OK, I paid my $30 for only lower legs, a little expensive. An hour later, my legs had red areas and the skin was definitely peeling, they were burned. I went away for the weekend and my legs looked pretty bad. Today I went back to the "Glamorous" nails to talk to the person that wax me and showed her my legs, and asked her to please return my money. She said, "I'm sorry, your skin might be too sensitive"...Let's just say that I'm pretty brown (latina) and wax every month, so my skin is NOT sensitive. I repeated in a very nice way that I wanted my money back and she said: "I didn't do anything wrong, you can go to the doctor to help you heal" Yes, that's what she said, can you believe it? I asked for the owner, and here's the worst part, SHE IS THE OWNER! so she went to answer the phone and left me there standing at the front of her business, I walked in took their business card to make sure I can let you know how bad my experience was. The BAD waxing experience can happen to anybody, but the way she handled my complaint was the WORST!!! read more

Used to come here a few years ago, but just took my daughter in for a mani-pedi... they cut her nails WAY too short (I'm afraid she'll get an ingrown nail) and the polish was old, so the inexperienced manicurist laid it on thick-- so thick that it bubbled up. There were streaks and obvious mistakes and smudges. She forgot to put on top coat. The place looks not very sanitary-- it looked as if they didn't clean the instruments between customers, which is not only scary, but against health code. There are better, cleaner and more proficient nail salons on the avenue... don't waste your money---- they charge an extra $2 for each service to use a debit card, also. read more

I guess they were nice, only I had to self advocate multiple times about what I wanted and still ended with disappointment. I came in with photos, I had like 5 different people look at what I wanted only for one to step forward and take the initiative. Still didn't get anything close. I'm really upset, they didn't give me change for my cash and took what I needed to be broken and split between artist quicker than I could correct. SI have an awkward Experience. And I'm so sad because my wedding is any day now, I'm too busy to redo them. Came here after admiring a co-worker's nails and she recommended this salon. I got a manicure and pedicure, which totaled to $35. Not only was it a good deal, but the quality of their work was also good and the experience was enjoyable. They have lots of magazines to flip through, lots of customers to chat with, and my manicurist was also friendly. I also thought it was really nice when I accidentally nudged my one of my nails while my manicure was drying, and my manicurist immediately fixed my nail and was happy to do it while I apologized for being such a spaz.
