This place is great! Has been my go-to in Marin. Chau the owner is really good and his wife runs the front office, all very friendly and skilled. Also what's really helpful is the various other people on the team who can cut hair just as well. This is not a fancy hair salon where you will spend (waste) a lot of money, but if you want a highly skilled hair cut at a reasonable price, this definitely does a great job and the best I've found. The other nice thing is availability--even if appointments are booked up (and they prefer if you make one or at least call ahead, I usually do)--you can usually get someone to see you on short notice. read more

I've been getting my haircuts here since we moved to the Bay Area 7 years ago and wouldn't think about going anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and welcoming every time you walk in. On top of that, for a men's haircut you're in and out of there in no time and for a reasonable price. I would recommend calling ahead but usually they're extremely flexible with scheduling. It's very rare they schedule me any later than 30-45 mins after calling. read more

Let me tell you something about these two amazing people, Ciao and Jenny are two of the nicest people I have met since before Covid. Ciao is the only person I let cut my hair and he gets it 100% right every time. Jenny his wife is super sweet very caring and very professional. About six months ago, we were searching for a local spot for a haircut and beard trim. We found FamilyCuts via a Yelp search. It had good ratings, so we decided to give it a try. We're now regulars. They have a number of cutters, so we've never had a problem getting an appointment. Between the two of us, we've probably been to four different cutters. We've been pleased with all of them. We have settled into specific folks now, which is nice since we don't have to explain everything. The cuts don't generally take much time and their prices are reasonable. Love Family Cuts! Been going here since 2019 after moving to Marin. I tried a few other places, but they either did a terrible job, were not friendly and/or were over priced. I was so happy to find and try Family Cuts. I was lucky to have my first haircut here done by Chau. He knew exactly how to deal with my thick hair and gave me an awesome haircut. Hang is great. She's been cutting my hair for a couple years now. She's super precise and has a keen eye for detail. Unfortunately, she's only there on Sundays. The rest of the staff is very friendly and they're also quite good at what they do. They're right next door to SolFood, so I always have a chicken salad afterwards. Great location! read more

My son came in with long hair, hoping to get a summer cut. As we were discussing what we wanted for hair, she already began cutting. We asked her to keep the hair long in the back. I'm showing her a few photos as she is shaving his sides!!! The first thing she did was chop it all off in the back She didn't communicate or acknowledge or listen to anything we said! She rushed seemingly to fill the next seat. She was impatient and honestly gave one of the worse haircuts I've ever seen in my life. My son immediately rushed to the bathroom to deal with his upset he was. I told the guy up front when I was paying and he completely ignored me and just told me how much the hair cut cost. I have my hair cut here by Darryl and also my 12 yr old daughter's hair. My co-worker always raves about my haircuts and can't believe I'm not getting it done at a "fancy salon".
