I had a haircut here, which I ended up waiting for the stylist for over an hour. When she finally saw me she said it was bc some scraggly haired woman with her extensions came in last minute demanding she fix her hair, and so she spent hours re bonding (or whatever the term is?) the hair. I'm not trying to be mean here, but the woman had very fine blonde hair that was bob length and got hair down to her waist. My aside here is ...ladies...can we just love what we have and maybe do any enhancements in moderation instead of totally going overboard with the extensions down to our tushies?! And, yes, I was rightfully upset bc I had an appt and this woman did not, yet I had to wait for my scheduled service?? Totally doesn't make sense. The kicker was when I told the stylist she should have rescheduled me if she was going to be so late, and her response was that she didn't want to lose another customer that day. Welp, she definitely lost me as a customer, because I'd never go back to her. The cut was okay but overall a mind boggling experience and a waste of my time. The other experience I had was getting a facial from an aesthetician. I specifically let her know I didn't want any animal tested or animal products on my skin. And yet, she slapped collagen on my face (and it wasn't marine collagen). She also didn't do any arm or neck massage, which is odd because with all the facials I've had at other places, I've always had a light massage while a mask is on my face. When I asked about the massage, the aesthetician said she leaves the room while my mask is on vs doing a massage. Additionally, she kept using the term "anti-aging", despite me sharing that I'm not against what natural process happens to us all, and I don't like language that makes us hate a natural process. I think (especially in a spa or salon setting) there are far more positive terms we can use to describe caring for our skin. Rejuvenating, refreshing, aging with grace, naturally enhancing...sounds far more from a place of love and acceptance for ourselves than "anti-aging". From both of these less than par experiences, my take away was that I was in a low caliber salon, and not a specialized, leveled up establishment. It's been a year and I haven't returned, nor would I recommend this place to others.

My eyebrow lady never asked me what I wanted, I had to stop her first before she put the wax on to tell her I'm still growing them out. I just wanted them touched up because the last time I was here she did a great job. I'm posting a picture of what they looked like before I went in when my eyebrows were full and then after day after they were waxed. Literally still cannot get over how awful this was. I honestly think they make your brows thinner so you can buy more product. I got this service a month ago. I was hoping by now they would have grown out but they haven't. It took me years to get them as full as they were. And now I just feel really self conscious looking in the mirror and trying to work with them. There's really nothing they can do to fix my brows, they're just ruined indefinitely. Product doesn't fix them I don't want to have to wear MORE make up to fix my brows that looked great before.

What can I say...she's miracle worker. I told her that my lower back had been aching for several days. An hour later I walked out with absolutely no back pain! Michaela told me she could tell that my hamstrings were tight and gave me printouts of exercises to loosen them up and hopefully prevent the pain from coming back. I've never had a massage therapist give me printouts! I walked out of there feeling so relaxed that I almost couldn't walk. Even as I'm typing this I'm still mellow yellow....

I have small eyes and short lashes which can make me look tired even when I'm not. With Jessica's craft, I feel like it wakes up my entire face and the best part is that it looks....NATURAL! Some people might comment, "you look really good or rested, etc.." but my eyelashes are appropriate for my eyes and face and therefore it's not obvious I have extensions. (I have seen those kinds of lashes and always think it's ridiculous!) Another amazing part is that they LAST until my next fill. I have been getting extensions since I lived in New york and they either looked fake, put too few on, or they started falling out 3 days after having a service!! I personally couldn't imagine going to anyone else as long as I live in the Bay Area.
