As mentioned in many of the reviews here, some of the staff here will talk sh*t/complain about you to one another audibly and then pretend they were "just talking to their coworker". Your money can be spent better elsewhere. Specifically, older woman with glasses was annoyed at us for ordering food and drinks and then started to speak badly about customers very audibly to other (younger) staff behind the desk. After I told her if there's a problem with our order and she can just cancel it/refund us, she got even more upset and defensive saying what she says to her coworkers is none of my business. I'm surprised given the volume of complaints about certain servers that they're still employed here. Shame. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

The pastry was the clear star - I got the chocolate pistachio croissant and it was filled with the usual tube of chocolate PLUS a ribbon of pistachio pastry cream. I was just expecting a few nut bits, but was absolutely delighted to get the strong pistachio flavor. I also got a turkey and brie sandwich, which they helpfully warmed up and was quite good. I could totally see grabbing one as a quick lunch regularly if I worked in the area. The latte was, honestly, meh. It's coffee! It's fine! But they are fundamentally not a coffee bar, they're a bakery, so focus on the baked goods. read more

Nice little coffee, bakery spot that compliments the Canopy hotel. I needed a custom cake last min after another bakery failing through at the last min. I ordered a chocolate cake with butter cream frosting. The cake was good, pretty average. Only thing I was thrown by is the fact that I paid more for the decorations than the cake and it wasn't really anything over the top . So appreciative on the turn around time for this cake. On the second day, no one greeted me when I came in and the lady behind the counter gave me a hard time about wanting the cupcakes in boxes rather than those tacky plastic containers. I insisted on the boxes and she acted like she couldn't hear me and told me I needed to communicate. First of all, I did tell you what I want and second, if you turned the damn music down, you could hear better. I recently popped into this cute little spot as it was right around the corner from my hotel. I wanted a sweet bday treat and could not resist a good macaron! Praline specializes in Parisian macarons, all of which are gluten-free/dairy free for anyone who has gluten restrictions. They are not nut-free just an FYI, they are made with almond flour. The flavors I got were almond, pistachio and salted caramel. My favorite was the pistachio flavor because of the pistachio buttercream it practically melts in your mouth. We enjoyed our macarons however, I wish they were a tad bit bigger for the price. We end up spending $8 on 3 macarons. The location is perfect located in Wharf. Cute little shop. Part of the store was still under construction when I visited but everything was bright and clean. I loved the display cases and variety of savory and sweet options. Lots of sandwiches, pastries, macarons, and other tasty treats! Service was really friendly and patient while I tried to decide between all the options. The prices were a little steep for me, but for a special occasion treat it seems par for the area. The specialty King cake they made for mardi gras was tasty but the lemon almond cake was the star. Really intense and sweet flavor, the cake was light and airy and frosting was rich and smooth. I would definitely get this again. Unfortunately the mini pack of pralines I bought for later were really subpar. They were dry and didn't have enough of that creamy melt in your mouth flavor I'm used to from other pralines I've had. I do really appreciate they had a water station with cups for people to help themselves to! I wish more places would offer this. I do look forward to coming back and trying more items! read more

I walked in here and was not impressed. I think partially because I think macaroons are overrated and they have plenty. But, I walked away with a pistachio chocolate croissant to-go. Went to the boardwalk area. Sat down and took a bite. Wow wow wee! It was yummy yummy. Lots of pistachio cream over a bed of chocolate. I can see why it was the last one. I wandered in to check out the selection a little after what I would guess is the usual lunch hour for most folks this afternoon. It was dead inside. The one employee dropped what she was doing to get behind the counter while I looked around at the selection. The food was displayed pleasantly, but the store as a whole had a cold, sterile feel to it that wasn't welcoming. I didn't have the time to stay and eat, but even if I had, I would have left; it just wasn't a comfortable space to be in. I asked about the price of the sandwiches (prices were around, but small and crowded, which I probably should've taken as a sign) and she told me $10, so I requested the turkey and brie with cranberry. I was surprised to discover the sandwich on display was what was handed to me without further prep aside from putting it in a bag. I think their drink selection was stacked behind the counter, but it wasn't labeled clearly as something available for purchase and the employee didn't suggest I get a drink, so I decided to skip and and paid. The sandwich wasn't terribly well-balanced. There was too much bread to turkey, cheese, and cranberry. The cranberry, although it tasted good, was unevenly spread. The bread was on the dry and chewy side (though maybe that's my fault for getting it later in the day?) and despite the ingredients, the thing as a whole was pretty underwhelming. Not worth $10. Given, this is a bakery with a focus in sweets -- I didn't try any sweets and maybe I will in the future, but I wouldn't rush back to grab a sandwich in the future. read more

Bottom Line: Passed this place while walking through the Wharf. I was very hopeful when looking at their delicious baked goods, but surprised when they weren't up to par. Maybe if you wanted cookies specifically, but their macarons may need a little fixing up. - Praline Cookie: had to have one of their namesake cookies. Which is funny because the place is called Praline bakery, but I didn't see one true praline cookie in the place. Their namesake cookie was in the form of a normal cookie dough cookie, with praline mix on top of that. Loaded with extra butter that made the praline more of a softer topping, it was super tasty, but not what I had expected. I wanted a bag of true New Orleans praline cookies to take home. - Macarons: for only $1.95, I wanted to surprise my fiancée with a bunch of macarons, so I requested 5. When I talked to the guy more, he was so excited about them that he gave me an extra 2 (for free), ere-go GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! But when I actually tried them, there was almost zero filling inside them. It was 90% macaron cookie and minimal filling. One of our passion fruit cookies didn't have any filling except the tiniest amount just so that the cookies stick together. Super disappointed and the reason we won't be getting them again. Too bad because some of their flavors were spectacular. Bottom Line: okay bakery. Nothing too special. Maybe will return again for a cookie if I happen to be around but won't go out of my way to return. However, their customer service is great!! read more

Finally gave this bakery a shot and tried a few flavors of macaron. I can't recommend any of them. I didn't enjoy the flavors. The macaron dough itself was inconsistent across the board but generally flat and bland. The filling was different fruit jams in the passion fruit, raspberry, and apricot macarons, and a sugar icing in the pistachio macaron. All of them were overly sweet. The pistachio in particular tasted strongly like artificial flavoring (maybe almond extract? pistachio extract, if that's a thing?) Overall, I didn't enjoy them and wouldn't return. read more

Service was terrible, worker seemed annoyed that I wanted to order something. Got a crunch bar, four cookies, and a latte. The crunch bar was excellent, the cookies were whatever, and the latte was standard. My wife got a couple cupcakes and didn't think much of them either. Not bad but not good, especially for the prices. We spent over $40 there between the two of us, we don't mind spending when the quality is there but it was lacking. Maybe try another bakery? I patronize the praline bakery at the wharf once a month. I absolutely love their baked goods like the cupcakes (Raspberry & Lemon my Favs) which have that homemade taste.
