It was a great place, the food was decent but not outstanding. I didn't care much for the small salad that was served with my sandwich. The price was typical for DC. The location was very convenient and the ambience was fair. They were out of many menu options hence I had to settle for something I didn't quite enjoy as much as I had hoped for. But overall a decent experience.

I was visiting DC for a few days for a conference, and this eatery was conveniently located in my hotel, the Eaton DC, on the first floor. So my first morning there I needed some coffee and something to eat, so I headed downstairs to check out this place and was just going to order a regular latte when I saw someone picking up their coffee drink. It just looked so delicious. I asked what it was, and she told me it was a pistachio latte. So I ordered one, and it was amazing. Definitely better than some of the larger chain coffee shops. I've tried. It was so good that I had to get another one and wished I had gotten a large. I also ordered a sandwich on an English muffin with avocado, egg, and bacon. It was also very delicious. It didn't take me long to get my order either and the line wasn't very long. I noticed they're large square donuts, but I didn't think I would be able to eat all of one and they were $4.50. I sat at the bar table that looked out the window onto the street. I enjoyed people watching and talking to the lady that sat next to me. I visited a couple more times to get one of those delicious coffees. On one of my visits I did order one of the donuts, but it was disappointing. I should have asked if they would warm it up for me. It was hard and cold and did not taste that great. It was the glazed donut. I would definitely recommend it though for anyone who's looking for a coffee and a bite to eat in the morning.

Cool decor inside and friendly service. I ordered my food to-go. The grilled cheese with short rib was so delicious. The meat was tender, it was cheesy, & the bread was toasted. The kale salad was also light, fresh & had the right amount of dressing. The butterscotch blondie was the best part of the meal. I don't usually love brownies/blondies that much, but this one was high quality. It wasn't too sweet and the flavor was incredible even without it being warm like I prefer.

I spend a few mornings in here, staying nearby at another hotel that didn't have a great breakfast options. Great breakfast sandwiches, big coffee cups, several options for different types of filling savory or sweet breakfast items, with a nice mood and great retro decor. It's inside the hotel, there's a door directly to it but it took me a few passes to see it marked. Great spot!

Decent breakfast and sandwich options, but be prepared for some serious sticker shock! I got an avo toast with an egg on top, and a large cappuccino. I couldn't believe it came out to just under $25, definitely not a great way to start the day for a glorified pret a manger! The food was fine, my friend got one of the pricier breakfast options and wasn't particularly blown away. My avo toast was equally ordinary. I'd say if you have time to seek out other options, it'll be worth it to save money on better food nearby.

Came for the breakfast biscuit and it was alright. The bacon and jam flavor was great, however the biscuit and egg was off putting.

Somewhat spacious area to work or hangout. The service was really great. They were very knowledgeable of any question that I had. I ordered their breakfast sandwich and drip coffee. Sandwich is a bit overpriced, but it was really good! Paired with the coffee, it was a good balance.

4 Stars Baker's Daughter in DC gets 4 stars for quality and taste. The food is undeniably delicious, and the restaurant itself has a great ambience. It's a cozy, inviting space where you can easily work or be a digital nomad for a while. However, the pricing feels uneven and confusing. Yelp lists the avocado toast at $12, but ordering through Uber Eats bumped it up to $14.40 (price of the meal only), plus an additional $3 for a sunny-side-up egg, totaling $17.40. For a single slice of whole grain bread, half an avocado, and an egg, the price feels excessive. I've attached screenshots from both Yelp and Uber Eats to highlight the pricing differences. Even though I was a walk-in and checked prices beforehand, the final bill still felt unreasonably high. The food was great, but definitely not worth the price for what you get.

Outside tables. Unfortunate it's a nice corner to sit at and have a coffee.

So the good news is the coffee is good. I just got a latte. They don't have any sugar-free syrups so don't come here expecting sugar-free vanilla anything. But the coffee was sweet and very good. I get a sense that nobody is really taking care of this place. The outside tables were all dirty. The entry area has a Coco mat that looks like nobody has vacuumed it in a week. The counters had crumbs all over them both where you ordered and in the back The floors were dirty and needed to be swept. Hmmmm could be a diamond in the rough. If there was management that cared it seems to me.

I stopped in because I saw they had a Butterscotch Blondie that I wanted to try. Needless to say that they were sold out. I wanted a refund, however, I couldn't receive that without providing my information starting with my phone number. I didn't need my phone number to pay for the items, so why must I give my number to receive a refund? This place is a "Card Only" establishment and if I were able to pay with cash, I could've received my refund, however since they aren't a business that receives cash, I had to get an additional item in place of receiving my money back. The cashier was nice but I could tell that she was flustered with trying to give me a refund. She desperately tried to suggest other items, however, I'm a very particular person and I want what I paid for, they didn't have it, so I wanted my money back. I honestly don't care what a place looks like when my money is on the line and I can't get it back. All I can tell you is that this is a small, overpriced shop. 1 bag of cookies costs $9.00 dollars. I've never paid $3.00 bucks for a cookie in my life until yesterday. The worst part is the cookies aren't that great!! I make better, tastier cookies at home. I just wanted something sweet really quick without the hassle of baking. I would rather bake from now on. I looked at the prices of other items as well and a Cobb Salad is $15.00 bucks!! These people are out of their minds!!! I won't be going here again. Y'all take your chances if you want to.

Staying at Eaton and received breakfast vouchers here. I was asking if I could use it for yogurt and the girl at the counter said yes. Another older and curly hair lady quickly stopped her and said chia seed pudding only in a very cold tone. Even the two are the same price she wouldn't let you use it for yogurt. Not sure why they are strict about this rule. We ended up ordering breakfast burrito. It was very forgettable and greasy. Couldn't finish it.

I have been a fan of this space at the Eaton and its beautiful decor. So pretty and nice to meet up (views!) I've had my eye on trying Baker's Daughter and my first visit was a to-go order placer online. It was ready when I arrived, so that was a plus. Unfortunately, that's pretty much where it ended. I tried a seasonal beverage- Feelin' Rosy Iced Latte (September's selection) and that drink was not for me. I couldn't even finish it and I love fun, seasonal drinks. It was pretty though. Onto the food. I purchased breakfast tacos but they too were disappointing. The filling was not hot (temperature) and the taste was on the saltier side. Overall, convenient if you're staying at the Eaton but there are many options around if you're a local.

I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

That's when I stumbled onto Sharbat. It's a rather quaint and cute Azerbaijani bakery and as I was window shopping all the cakes and baklavas, someone across the counter says "let me know if you have any questions" and I look up to see an angelic beautiful woman (this does not affect my rating haha) but I guess I wasn't expecting to see that. Anyway, she went through explaining various pastries and had a couple Turkish ones as well. I went with a pistachio baklava and a slice of honey cake. Honestly, I wanted to try all the cakes and even though they say honey cake is their most popular, there were a few that looked more appetizing. However, slightly convinced by the one other customer there eating her slice of honey cake, I decided to try it. I've only had honey cake once before so I won't act like I know what's best but that time the layers were thinner which I prefer but I like how it wasn't overly sweet despite it being honey forward.
