Ordered tea & coffee and both were lukewarm. Using their restroom, you need to leave an ID to get the key. Then you go through and unlock 3 doors to get to the restroom. The keys aren't labeled, so you have to try each key! This wasn't the reason for fewer stars. The lukewarm water is the issue. It's a coffee house, the coffee and tea should be hot! read more

Great place, though very standard. I come to expect more from cafés to not just be cookie cutter. We get it, wood is in, espresso machines are necessary, and so are delicious pastries and baking, but make some magic happen! Staff are friendly and smiling. Pumpkin bread is something you'll want to go back for more. But the bench will leave you feeling either hunched or uncomfortable. Expect a pleasant hum of city kids Skyping with foreign lovers and/or having awkward business conversations on their telephones. It's on a busy city corner, so people watching is heaven. read more

Prado Cafe - A little early evening, after work tea with a friend. - Cafes Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

It was a snowy morning with slush and rain. We wanted a hot coffee and tea to warm up. The coffee was old, poured from a carafe, and just warm. The pot of tea was also just warm. I don't expect old cold coffee from a place that specializes in serving coffee. read more

I really don't like the coffee at 49th parallel, but decided to try prado cause I work close to it. They were super nice and let me use the washroom even before I bought something, so 3 stars for service, although their bathroom reminded me of being on drugs. I bought the special they had for bread pudding and coffee. Overpriced and both tasted like absolute arse. I don't understand why people like this coffee! It either tastes too raw or too burnt. read more

My cup was dirty. The person behind the counter dryly apologized. Next I learned you have to give them your ID to get a washroom key. Sorry, this is not how customer service works. Won't be back. read more

I have to admit, I was cautious to try this location as the one on the Drive has long intimidated me, and I don't find the atmosphere particularly welcoming (nor the staff the time I went!) But this location is very different. It's a beautiful building and the giant windows are a real treat. I had a few minutes to kill so popped in to grab a drink and do some work. The staff were still a bit standoffish, but not as bad as the other location. They let me try the kombucha before I decided what I wanted, which was really nice! I love that they have kombucha on tap - it's obviously SO hipster, but damn it it's delicious! It's SUPER busy in here, so don't expect it to be easy to find a table. I was lucky that someone was leaving as I arrived, but when I left my table was snatched up before I even stood up! read more

I don't know what it was about this cafe but the flat white I had here was the best one I've had outside of New Zealand. Cute little spot, on a bit of a sketchy corner so enjoy the people watching!! read more

Could be a little bigger, but everything is spot on. They have some great selections, and the service is fast and friendly - and a member of staff corrected me when I referred to something incorrectly in a kind way, which I absolutely appreciated. Really great vibes and atmosphere. Great space for computer and tablet usage too, would definitely recommend as a place to stop by if you need some quality time with your laptop/tablet. read more

Crispy flakey on the outside and fluffy, buttery on the inside croissants. Great chai tea latte - not too sweet. They serve up Parallel 49 coffee. Large windows perfect for people watching/cringing. read more

I love a coffee shop that has good coffee, good pastries and some ambiance where no one is typing on their laptop but rather having conversations or flipping through magazines...I think I have found what I was searching for all these years. I popped into Prado's new location on the edge of Gastown and was surprised that I spent a couple of hours there just reading, people watching and watch the world go by. The decor is hipster chic, the baristas are friendly and don't have a crazy attitude. I tried a large Parallel 49th drip coffee along with a Canele, which was just the perfect texture and taste and read one of their fashionable magazines. Overall, even though the neighbourhood is still a "work in progress", I enjoyed spending a Saturday afternoon. read more

I've tried out a bunch of cafes and I must say, Prado's vanilla latte was hands down my favourite. I believe they use real vanilla beans as I notice them in my coffee and I think that makes a huge difference! They had an assortment of baked goods (including liege-style waffles!!) and I believe they serve some food here as well. It's a great place to people watch, grab coffee with a friend, or have some me time and be productive (however, I only noticed outlets towards the back of the cafe!) I love the beautiful colour of the cups and the staff were friendly. I'll definitely be back. Verdict: Service: 4.5/5 Drink: 5/5 Would I return: definitely! read more

I wanted to give it 5 stars, but just can't. It's good, but not excellent. Coffey is really good. Sandwich was good. Waffle was ok. Good internet and hipster vide. read more

So I have never tried a PRADO in my life (not that I recall). I came in one weekend for a caffeine fix. The shop at this local was packed (no seating). After placing an order (no line) we got our coffeeeeeez. They have almond milk, homo, soy milks. Honey, brown sugar (open jar i'm not so much of a fan as hands can go in it) and splenda (in packets). Half the coffee sleeves were soaking wet. Fail. Nowhere to sit (it's ok since it wasn't our intention). Overall...a-ok. They serve Parallel coffee, staff seemed distant and aloof and not very into customer service but put our order through fast. read more

So many times, I just walked by this place when I am going to dinners and all. Everytime, I would make a mental note I would come and check out the place and that to happen took forever! But one day, I had my golden reading break and papers to work on. I said ditch the library I am going to fence coffee place:p Felt like this place might not be the best pace to write paper but turns out to be a great spot. The crowds were not crowding the space (pun) and the coffee people were nice and kind. Coffee was good too not that I know a lot about coffee but you know. I has coffee. Iced. And it was good. I say you should try! read more

I LOVE mocha's. I am always in search of the best mocha and I found it at Prado! They add a lil something extra to the chocolate that creates a wonderfully nuanced flavor profile. This location can get busy, but they always seem to keep the line moving. read more

I've driven past this place now for a couple of years and finally pulled and in and empty parking spot and came in. Friendly people. Coffee from 49th Parallel so it has that dry-ish taste to it. Not my fave per say but OK. Prada breakfast (mashed avocado on toast, with arugula and a single poached egg - delicious. And a gluten-free Triple berry muffin to finish things off - what can anyone say about gluten-free, right? But if I'm going to have a gluten-free muffin this actually was pretty good! And just out of the oven so slightly warm and reasonably moist. I'll be back... read more

This wasn't the coffee shop we were intending to go to, luckily the other one on our list was closed so this was the closest other local coffee shop! It was fantastic! The staff was very helpful- I wanted a drink special modified and they advised me against it as the modification wouldn't taste good. I appreciated the honest feedback and picked my standard go to instead. It did not disappoint! The pastries were also delicious! Highly recommend stopping here! read more

Great spot - best coffee I've had in ages, amazing cookies (try the "no name" one), tasty menu. The service was lacking however - had to ask for table to be cleaned, was given someone else's order and some of the food options weren't available. All can be overlooked for a decent coffee and treat though! read more

Hands down the best vegan latte I have ever had, and boy have I had them. In West Coast baristas tend to overwork the almond milk so that it tastes slightly burned, but here it was so good I had to order another one. Also very friendly and polite service! I also ate the turkey BLT which came with a large side of arugula salad. I hate arugula but here it had a very good dressing so it was delicious with the oily toast! read more

Nice atmosphere and great food, especially for a coffee shop! Had the yogurt parfait and was impressed. Service was friendly and prompt.

Great coffee, amazing tea, yummy pastries. This place is awesome. I go there every day before I have to go to work and the service is always fast and the people are friendly. They have free wifi (openspaces is the password) and a bunch of wall plugs. It does however get extremely hot in that store so it's not ideal on a super hot summer day. read more

I recently happened upon Prado Cafe when visiting from Los Angeles. There is no shortage of lovely coffee shops in Vancouver, and Prado does not disappoint. I initially walked in after being intrigued by the pretty/cozy interior. I decided to order the London Fog, one of my favorite hot drinks consisting of Early Grey tea, steamed milk, and vanilla. It was delicious. I loved the atmosphere here, too. It's on the small side, which gives it a cozy vibe, and is decorated in a typical, artsy coffee house fashion. I did not try using the WiFi, so I can't comment on that. I also can't comment on the coffee drinks, but it looks like quality should be top notch-I've tried a couple other coffee places in Vanvouver, and both served excellent coffee and lattes, so I'm sure Prado does as well. Good coffee just seems to be a Vancouver staple. If you live in Vancouver or are just visiting, I recommend stopping by Prado Cafe. Chances are, you'll enjoy it as much as I did. read more

Great place with nice wooden interior, super friendly staff and off the hook sandwiches. Hot and crispy! Drinks are being served in cool glass mugs and most of them from taps. If you have sparkling water you can even refill it yourself with a tap in the wall. Isnt that outright cool as f***? I can recommend the raspberry or lime kombucha. Big windows make it very bright and great for people watching. Look at that dress with those shoes.. Food 5/5 Ambiente 5/5 Staff 5/5 Price $$/5 read more

First of all, it's really cute inside. Second, the coffee was amazing. We had a latte with almond milk and a cappuccino. To eat we got avocado arugula and egg toast which was super yummy and a liege waffle (could have been better).
