Coffee is amazing!! We went in a weekday morning, there was a short line, and service was quick. Ambiance is not bad.

The brand is great, specifically coffee, food, and decor. Service is generally good from my multiple experiences from different locations. However, at this location, I had one horrific experience by a lady working there with long black hair, green eyes. Been on vacation for a week. Didn't matter what establishment I went to in Canada everyone is nice or at least not rude. I don't write reviews unless my experience is really bad and this is worthy of it. Upon ordering a cappuccino, I asked what size is available since there was no mention on the size. She said 12 or 16 oz. I was surprised because that was fairly larger than I am used to, and in looking at the menu, I did not see that option. I was not asked if I wanted the coffee for here or to go so I informed her coffee for here please because I prefer to enjoy my coffee in a ceramic cup when possible. She stated, we don't have coffee for here. I then proceeded to pay cash but hadn't realized Canadian money doesn't have pennies. I wasn't sure how the rounding worked, so I said oh there are no pennies? She said no. Her demeanor and attitude upon my initial interactions with her was very dismissive and rude with an arrogant flair. I walked up to the espresso machine and saw ceramic cups on the top of the machine. As she was making coffee, i was surprised, and said oh you do have cups for here? She didn't respond and tossed my cappuccino, in a ceramic cup, on the counter and didn't say a word including letting me know my coffee is ready for pick up and proceeded to sit down on a stool behind the counter. The next day, I walked 3x as far to go to another location which almost everyone had their coffee In ceramic cups and food on ceramic plates. People were much nicer. I came back to personally inform the manager of my experience and again everyone eating in the cafe was served on plates and cups for here. Sadly, she represents your business. read more

Terrible place to grab anything. My options were limited since it was Victoria day, but I probably could have skipped it. Their chocolate croissant was possibly the worst croissant I've ever had--it was dry, tasteless, and the worst part was that they took a regular butter croissant and slit the bottom to fill it with HERSHEY's CHOCOLATE SYRUP I've had bad croissants before, but filling a croissant with hersheys is a new low. Many years ago when I was involved with football(it's really hard to call it soccer) in the winter - my warm up drink afterwards was the Spanish Latte at Caffe Artigiano. I was working downtown & my usual Starbucks location is going through renovations. Across the street at W Pender & Thurlow is CA. I had not been to CA & not to this location in awhile. Situated right at the corner, above is the Marriott Hotel. CA is all about being a stylishly classy cafe - it's got beautiful furnishings & cool lighting. I ordered a Spanish Latte & wasn't sure what to have for breakfast - so went with the recommended gourmet Breakfast Wrap. Three words for this drink - De Light Ful! Having grown up drinking condensed milk & when I found out that SP is made with it - I was thrilled! My drink was perfect & my wrap was amazing - tasted so good! Thing is if the SL is made just right you don't need to add any extra sugar or cream. My wrap consisted of Gouda, tomato, asparagus, onions, red peppers & pesto mayo. Just loved it!!! There are plenty options if you want to try something else! Now these high end coffee joints are pricy but really were can you get quality coffee & a bite to eat that's cheap & not nasty? CA I demand that the dude who prepped my wrap be given an immediate raise! LOL read more

Fortunately, the staff knew what they were doing and operated like clockwork. The atmosphere was definite a bit too busy, as there are too many tables inside. One of my favorite locations for this new dominant chain of coffee places. The one-up on Starbucks in terms of quality and taste I frequently come to their coffee first if any of the locations are near where I am going for a good wake up call! This is one of those locations in the morning on a work day I can stop my car, as there is parking in front, and run in to get my java fix. The staff are friendly and fast at serving you, knowing this is downtown and knowing that you gotta get somewhere and fast. The place does have enough sitting if you are willing to slow yourself down and enjoy a coffee, served in a non paper cup if you choose. While I've been to plenty Italian Cafes back home on the East coast, this is the first Cafe that features the Italian/Euro setting the most in Vancouver. Mentally stepping inside I also had that false pretense to expect an Italian Bold Roast as typical of Italian Espresso Beverages. The Cappuccino while having more unique of a flavour profile than the ones I'm normally offered, which by the way is a good thing, I didn't quite enjoy it as much simply because it was lacking that UMPH even when compared to other North American Cafes. What bothered me most was that I had a zillion little voices in my head while simply just trying to enjoy my Beverage. All the suits surrounding me intensified their conversation making this more like an after-work Pub rather than a Cafe. Do NOT come here if you have a Headache. Spanish latte was killer, perfectly balanced sweet/bitter, needed no sugar and the foam was delicate. They do a good pull here and have a sign clearly noting that if you're ever dissatisfied with a dopio or espresso macchiato that they'll repull it for you no questions asked. My only complaints: - it was damn noisy in there! But please stop trying to sell this as having any real fruit action in it. It's called false advertising. And at 8am, I am NOT in the mood. We were staying at a Hotel in Coal Harbour and I wanted to find the Best Latte in Vancouver. This is the store of 2012 Canadian Western Regional Barista Top 3 Finisher Alan Vuong. The Baista that poured my Latte is trained by Vuong, and it was a perfect pour. The Latte was rich, full body with very little acidity. I left with a 1lb/16 oz/453 g bag of their Private Reserve Espresso Beans. These beans are some of the best I've ever purchased. When I tried them out at home on my Espresso Machine, they delivered a dark Crema that is perfect for Lattes. read more

The coffee here always tastes a bit burnt to me, even if the latte art is lovely. But it's a great place to people watch. I often think it might be a suitable place to "meet" someone--if everyone didn't seem to be in a meeting, that is. I guess I'm never one of those aforementioned people. I usually sit in the window, which is better for people watching than people-meeting, although the seats aren't too comfortable. It is one of the only places in the city where you get a true "bustling" feel--something I miss from NY. I don't "get" why places are opposed to skim milk (and this is one of them). I am sure that there are others out there who prefer the taste of skim. And I'd rather save the milk "calories" for something more decadent like a pastry or ice cream. I usually come here around 4 pm when it's less busy, and the staff is always fine with me, so I'm surprised to hear about the negative reviews. It certainly has a warmer feel than the SB across the street (and I'm a huge SB fan.) So when in the area, this is a great place to stop for a latte and maybe even a scone or muffin. read more

Great coffee, I've always been impressed with this locations. Fairly priced given downtown vancouver. But the baristas have some serious aggression. It was pretty unsettling. There was one barista who announced that my first card was declined in an awkwardly loud voice to the point where people were staring. Which is okay, but when he ended up making a different drink to the one I ordered, gave me pretty rude tone and remade it. I was nice throughout and it reflected on him at the end, but bare in mind that I was the customer. At the end of the day though, it was great coffee at a fair price and the ambiance and location are excellent. read more

Caffè Artigiano has great coffee. Can't take that away from them. Also appreciate the wood and touches that make it seem like a cafe in Europe.Two negative things to write (one about this specific location): 1) Location specific: They have packed in as many chairs as possible, so it is impossible to NOT bump into your neighbor as you try and edge your way out of the maze. Very limited outdoor sidewalk seating (2 tables). 2) Caffè Artigiano may be great for coffee, but the same cannot be said for their eats. Their croissants share only shape as a similarity to their french origin namesake. They are dry and quite tasteless. I won't be writing home about the muffins either. read more

Really amazing coffee. There really is nothing more to say --- isn't that all one wants in a cafe?! Their espresso shots always taste perfect (maybe its because they still use a manual bar - take that starbucks!). You can always tell the quality of the shot poured --- if it sits too long, its bitter; if the grind is too coarse, its bland; and if the grind is too fine, its oversteeped. When the shot is at the perfect grind and poured into the beverage within 8 seconds of being poured, THAT'S when you're gonna get an amazing cup of coffee. AMAZING COFFEE, GREAT SERVICE! This place made me not want to come back to my hometown. My sister is the type of person who needs to try americano from every single coffee place she can find in one city, and she was so very very verrrrry impressed at how clean and smooth it tasted - no sour or bitter aftertaste. I don't drink soy milk, and she fooled me by ordering a soy caramel latte, and I didn't even know it was soy! I don't know how they made it, but it was amazing. Meh. This caffe is so-so. I had a mocha which was pretty good. A nice dark chocolate flavor, but the coffee was a bit overdone so there was a bit too much of a char flavor for my liking. The layout of seating in the store is pretty bad, too. Why would you have a table of two surrounded completely by a ring of other tables? It made for trying to get in and out of our tables really difficult when the store was even a third empty, because there was no space to even move between tables. read more
