These people are the standard for Porsche service in the East Bay area. This shop is just how you want it, no frills, no BS, passionate about the brand and knowledgeable. I have 2 vehicles that I trust them implicitly with. They aren't the cheapest shop in town but I sleep better at night knowing that I've held up my end of the bargain in owning and caring for my vehicles. read more

UPDATE: MY ENGINE STOPPED WORKING WITHIN 24 hours of picking up the car... wasn't driving it hard and it dumped oil on the ground and seems seized. The car was working fine and healthy (by their own PPI) before I sent it in. I am sending it back on Monday..lets see if they take any responsibility. Wayne, the owner assured me that if it's their fault they'll fix it. I am actively trying to move on from the shop. Once I am through this experience I will update this review to reflect the whole experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Please learn from my experience. Especially if you are a newer Porsche owner. I bought my first 996.2 in June and brought it here for the PPI upon the owner's suggestion. He usually goes to S Car Go, but had heard good things about Gabe the mechanic here. Looking back, that's when red flags with Brian started to show up. He promised multiple times to send me the PPI write-up within 24 hours, but he sent it 4 days later. Red Flag #1. I actually had to drive over and talk to the mechanic (Gabe, who I love and is awesome!). Gabe advised me to buy the car, so I did. I then contacted Brian about the following things: 1) RMS/IMS/Clutch/Sway bar install 2) Convertible smart top module install 3) Shift knob install/sticky window seals. I stressed that I wanted to build a relationship with the shop, as I plan to buy a few more P cars and want one place to have them serviced. I asked Brian when I could drop off the car, as I originally wanted it done by my birthday, July 18th. Brian agreed to fit me in the week after. Then ended up pushing it to the week of August 1st. (Red Flag #2). In that email, he promised to give it the "best attention we can offer". He noted they were busy. I'll post pics below. So I drop the car off, and afterward realize the vent foam problem is annoying. I go over to discuss it verbally with Brian and send over the eBay part and a video walkthrough. Brian tells me he will have Gabe look at the video to see if he can do it. (Find out later, her never had Gabe watch the video, months later). Red flag #3. However, he verbally agreed to do this for me. After that, I'm going over every Friday, and my car is never actually worked on. I ask the mechanics what's happening, and they tell me Brian keeps pulling people off my car for newer cars. By this time, they (the mechanics and I are friends) are also a bit frustrated that they can't work on my car. So I headed into the front to sit with Brian and see things from his POV (2 sides to every story). Brian constantly talks about having more work than they can handle and how he's got a small crew. For 4+ weeks, I go over every Friday and realize my car isn't being completed because Brian pulls people off to do other jobs. I thought this was normal until I started talking to other shops. It's not. So I finally snapped and emailed Brian, saying it's been months and my car shouldn't take almost 2 months to complete. He responded back, and I quote " A large job like this takes time, especially as we are a small crew and still have other clients and deadlines. To say a job like this doesn't take 2 months can be true; however, again we are a small team that still have promises and other projects to keep progressing on. I think moving forward you may need to find a shop that can give you the extra care and attention you need on your other upcoming projects." Remember what he said about giving my car the best attention? This really pissed me off to receive after waiting for over a month. Turns out, talking to other shops, this job should take no more than 3 weeks tops (including the blend doors). After receiving this email, Brian went back on his word about the blend doors and seals because "we aren't doing any work that's not on the estimate". We had verbally agreed to the blend doors; I had talked to the mechanics about doing it, and I was going to probably pay an extra 2-3k to the shop no problem. So I'm sitting here on 9/25 hearing that the car is partially incomplete and that it's "all done and ready to pick up." I dropped the car off 8/4. So, over a month later, it still isn't done. The most frustrating part is being told that they are flexible verbally and then not having this work done once I asked them to finish up my car. If I was having things fabricated, or specific custom work done, I'd understand. I am not. This is typical maintenance, and all stacked, so while the trans is out, the rest of the stuff could be done. I have emails where I asked for the seals to be fixed (again, Brian verbally said yes, and they didn't do it). read more

I brought my Porsche to PPM German Auto and had an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They took the time to explain everything clearly and provided great insight about my vehicle. I've now had my car serviced there twice, and both times Cliff took excellent care of me. He is extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond by providing detailed quotes and recommendations for future work I may want to consider. I never felt pressured--just well informed. The service was quick, communication was excellent, and the overall experience was top-notch. It's not always easy to find a shop you can truly trust with a Porsche, but these guys definitely earned my confidence. PPM German Auto has absolutely earned a long-term customer. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, high-quality service for their Porsche read more

Recently got a 1991 964 911 and was looking to get better performance out of the AC. I ordered a new receiver dryer from Griffith, made an appointment with Cliff and I got in 2 weeks later. I dropped my car off with Cliff at 8am and got a call back at 11:30am that same day with the diagnostic. Cliff was very thorough with the follow up call, Eric is extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond with checking on any other issues I was having. The CCU/HVAC on these older 911's are terrible but my AC now blows noticeably cooler/colder and gets to 55 degrees. Before it was struggling to do 70 degrees and only felt like it was blowing air. Extremely pleased with the services, customer service and turn around time. read more

I needed a major service n my 2017 911 GTS. I called PPM for a quote and they emailed a very detailed, reasonable quote that covered everything we discussed on the phone. I scheduled the service and when I dropped the car off they were very busy (think that is always the case!) and the lot was full of Porsche's. I knew it was a big job that involved removing the rear bumper cover, changing spark plugs, engine air filters and and the serpentine belt. We talked about how long it would take and I was surprised by how quickly they promised it. They delivered it on time at the quoted price. Great shop and and they have earned my future business. read more

I have a 997.2 Targa 4 6-speed, Eric and Gabriel did my new clutch/flywheel, cleaned up some grease on the suspension, installed new engine mounts, and some other work... the car feels amazing afterward! This is an incredible shop. They have honest prices and don't up-charge for simple OEM/standard after-market parts like another Bay Area indy shop I got a quote from. They even let me bring some of my own parts I ordered from Pelican Parts. PPM also helped me navigate smog right after I bought my 911. It had an aftermarket intake and they helped me figure out what the right stock part was to get from eBay so it would pass smog. read more

PPMGM performed a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) on a Porsche 911 Carrera S that I was interested in purchasing. They did it without having an appointment ahead of time. Richard helped me by performing a thorough inspection of the car. I appreciate that he gave me an honest appraisal of what needed attention right away. This helped me in negotiating a price with the dealer selling the car. Richard's attention to details gave me comfort in knowing he would take care of me if I bought the car. I plan to have PPM perform the needed repairs after I buy the car. The repair quote seems reasonable for the amount of work needed. I will give an update after the repairs are completed. read more

They quoted me $450 for a simple oil change on my BMW X5. I went to the dealership and got it done for $175 instead. When I asked PPM what services would be done for the $450 price, they didn't list anything more than the dealership does. In fact, the dealership does even more by sending me videos of the inspections. read more

Just wanted to pass on a note to Eric and team. Thank you for the amazing customer service experience you provided me. So, when you need a check up, tune up, or work, go to PPM! They are honest, work tirelessly to locate and resolve the problem and will not try and take your first born like the dealer lol! PPM German Autowerk - 964 speedster - Auto Repair Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

My first time here with my Porsche, great customer service, they did what they said and all in all I am very pleased and will be back.

There's a reason PPM gets 5 stars. Obviously, they know their Porsches. But it's their service that's so stellar. I brought my Boxster S in because the linkage that connects the shifter cable to the transmission popped off, locking me in 3rd gear. Not pleasant. Nursed it down to the shop and they diagnosed and replaced the linkage. They test drove it and pronounced it el perfecto. So I went down and got the car and within a half mile the exact same thing occurred, this time on a hill at a light. For those of you with manual transmissions, you'll know that starting uphill in third isn't happy times for your clutch or engine. So, went directly back and they went to work again. That night the co-owner called me and expressed his extreme concern that they'd thought they'd fixed the problem and it had promptly failed. He took complete ownership of the problem, in a way that you will NOT find at a regular dealership. Refunded the repair cost and promised me it would be taken care of completely. They ordered a new linkage from Germany to ensure it was perfect, installed it, double and triple checked the alignment after drives and released it to me today. The transmission now shifts fantastically and has been rock solid in the admittedly short time I've had it back. What really struck me is how Erik took it so much to heart that their repair hadn't held up. Clearly perfection is their target and it was an affront to his personal ethos that my car's repair hadn't hit that level. Seriously, if you drive a Porsche, you need to bring it to PPM. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for over a year, but I can't say enough good things about Eric and his team. Very professional and a ton of Porsche knowledge in his team. When I bought my 2008 911 CS the previous owner and his mechanic could not trouble shoot a battery recharging/starter issue. After purchasing and taking to Eric he diagnosed the issue once I told him the year and symptoms and of course he was correct after examining the car. A simple factory recharging cable prone to issues on 2008s that was replaced. I get regular major/minor maintenance done at PPM and Eric is always professional and helpful. read more

THEEE Best Shop for Porsche maintenance and repairs. Eric and team are reliable, relatable, and provide tons of education about any car you own or might want to in future. Been taking my Porsches to these guys for some years now. Eric and Gabriel in particular have helped me with everything from standard maintenance to performance upgrades and set up. They have worked on my 08 Boxster and my 2012.5 Carrera S Cab 991.1 and every time the service quality is excellent, responsiveness and overall support is best I've ever had. And on that 991 they recently swapped out the lower control arms to get me more negative camber and gave it a proper Autocross setup. Car feels so dialed in. I did two autocross events this past weekend and it was just perfectly responsive. Note - there are a lot of us in the PCA that run Autocross that trust our cars to these guys. These guys know how to get things done on a BMW. I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance, so don't mind leaving my car for a couple of days. They flushed the cooling system, changed my transmission fluid and flush, and rear differential fluid in my 335i. Also adivised me on what I need to do next, and what can wait. [Time for another review - the BEST CARE for the BEST CAR!] Eric and his team, Gabe and Miguel, are HIGHLY-SKILLED IN PORSCHES! Brought in my 1987 3.2 Carrera last month for diagnosis of a persistent fuel vapor/leak, a new clutch and a few other items. PPM diagnosed the leak to when the car was shot a few years ago with an overspray/sealant by a body shop. The body shop had switched the fuel/expansion tank lines with the window and H5/lights water spray lines. Eric and his team discovered the well-hidden fatal error and corrected it, avoiding a fire and/or hydrolock, which may well have ended the life of the car, which has a high amount of sentimental value. I can now drive without worry and quite honestly, I can now sleep well at night!! PPM installed a new Sachs clutch kit and off the top of his head, Eric easily listed specifications and reasons why this particular clutch installation was best over other options. Yes, perhaps the forgiving G50 transmission but it is a pleasure to drive/shift! Under the excellent care of Eric and his team, very good rates along with an extreme amount of customer goodwill, the car ALWAYS runs like a top, is finely tuned and a dream to own and drive! PPM treat customers' cars as their own - with a great deal of care. Their shop looks like a concours event. Eric will give you numerous options from retaining stock status to building a race car - and he and his team have a great amount of history with all. These gentlemen are absolute masters - bring your Porsche of any flavor to them and you will be pleased! I know many others who only mirror my opinions of Pacific Power Motorsports! THANKS AGAIN, PPM GERMAN AUTOWERK! "Excellence was expected" of these legendary cars and that is the high level of service you will receive here! read more

Brought our 1995 Porsche 993 to Pacific Power Motorsports after meeting one of the co-owners Jeff (and fellow 993 owner) at PCA event. The timing was great as I'd been looking for a Porsche only shop for a while and the car happened to need an alignment. My understanding is they are one of the only shops with the equipment to do a proper alignment on the 993 which has a 4-link suspension. Sweet. The experience at PPM was by far the best I've had with any repair shop. Eric is professional, friendly, and knowledgable. He also gave me timely updates and thoroughly explained the work they were doing. You can tell he really knows his you-know-what and the customer service is about as good as it gets. As previously mentioned, the price was very reasonable. Eric was even able to get me a pair of control arms for roughly 50% off retail and passed along the savings to me (they are normally $550+ each). Who does that?! Even though I live 35 mins away from the shop, the trip is well worth it knowing that both the car and I are in excellent hands. read more

I took my '71 914-6 in to Eric at PPM because after a full restoration down in Southern California I stated to experience an engine miss that seemed to be electrical in nature. Eric, Mike and Gabe checked out my car and replaced the coil wire. The issue was the coil wire was not snugly seating into the coil. I picked the car up and it runs great again. Sure, not a big task, granted. But Eric knew I had a trip planned to LA with the car on the 18th and he squeezed me in to address that issue. That said a lot to me about their customer service and commitment to their customers. An added bonus, they are 4 miles from my home. Thank you Eric, Mike and Gabe for taking care of my Six. Dropped in our 911sc for a random no start issue, week later i stopped by to check in and was informed car was ready. But when i picked up the car the next day it didn't start at their location. They used some starting fluid and got me going assured it was just a hick up. Next day no start again, upon tinkering with the fuse panel i found a fuse as a culprit replaced it and never had the issue. Bottomline i spent 400$ for diagnosing and they couldn't find a faulty fuelpump fuse ? shop refused to give me back even a partial refund! furious at these scammers. read more

I had a pre-purchase inspection performed here. They were very thorough and found several issues which kept me from making a bad purchase.

This is the best Porsche repair shop I've found in the area. They are very easy to work with unlike a lot of other shops. They always have a variety of Porsches in the shop from race cars to old classics. I've had some regular services done here on my 911 as well as a complete alignment job and some suspension upgrades. I also had some transmission fixes done as well as some fuel system repairs All the work was done perfectly and they always take the time to discuss everything about the car in detail. I've been really happy with how they have taken such great care of my car. They really show the desire to get the job done right the first time. Their prices are reasonable for Porsche work and I always feel like it's a good value because they do great work. The team at PPM was great! Setting up an appointment with Eric and discussing the work needed was smooth. They use all OEM/Porsche parts and fluid (except for the motor oil). Shout out to Gabe who gave me a very detailed walkthrough of the job performed and the condition of my car. He definitely made me feel like he took care of my car like it was his.
