I trust Nathan and people there with my BMW M3CS, any maintenance or issues I always go there, Nathan are knowledgeable and easy to work with. I highly recommend European Autotech read more

Robert was super helpful on the phone! Answered all my questions and took time out of his day to be diligent. I got the correct insight and great advise from him. I would recommend this shop read more

We've been coming here since 2019, when we moved to the East Bay. I have a 20+ year old German car and they have always taken care of us. The staff has is professional, knowledgeable, and truth worthy. My most recent trip was last month and I worked closely with Dave, the manager. He was thorough, communicated well with me, and answered all my questions patiently upon drop off and pick up. Over the years I've highly recommended European Autotech to people who have asked where I take my car in for service. My neighbor, a knowledgeable car guy with multiple cars and very high expectations, told me this place was solid after I told him I take my car here. If he approves, it speaks volumes. read more

Took my car in to check some warning notifications that were showing up. Staff were friendly. They were quick. They diagnosed things quickly and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Honest and kind. Thanks European Autotech! read more

This review is for one of the engineers/technicians that worked on my vehicle. I highly recommend Nathan. Ask for him exclusively to work on your vehicle. He is incredibly thoughtful, meticulously good at finding and solving problems with your car, and has a very professional attitude that comes with a very healthy amount of courteousness. He was very thorough and took the time to educate us on the problems with our vehicle's parts and components. Overall a very stress relieving experience compared to how dealerships typically operate. I can't say thank you enough. Service here was stellar and my car came out good as new. High quality services are hard to come by in the Bay Area. If you are looking for professional staff, willing to work with you rather than lean you over and take you for everything you are worth when it comes to car repairs, then this shop is the right repair place for you. You guys are doing great work here, and my family will never forget it. read more

If you want to see "Rambo," just look at me when a check air pressure light comes on the dash board, and I know the tires are properly inflated. I drove to European Auto Tech because it was a half mile from In-N-Out Burger. Tom was very informative, and to save money, he told me to go back to the tire service where I bought the tires. Joe at Big O Tires fixed the problem for free. I was driving my wife's car, and I was happy not to hear "What did you do?" read more

Look, do you want a good doctor or a great doctor when it comes to your health? Same with the mechanic you trust your vehicle to for repairs. These guys are "great" mechanics, knowledgeable, courteous, trustworthy and friendly. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive, but fair and reasonable based on services rendered. There are other shops out there "posing" with similar names and or signage trying to skim some goodwill and customers that are confused about the name.....there is only one "European Auto Tech" located at 31 Beta Court Suite J (look for the big Porsche mural facing the shop and listen for the dogs barking at kennel next door) I have seven vehicles ranging from a 2015 Toyota Forerunner, to Ford F250 and F150 trucks, a 2004 Jeep Rubicon and a 2011 Shelby GT500. These guys handle all of these vehicles professionally, with attention to detail, safety and function. They get it right the first time around. As far as I am concerned, look no father for your go to mechanic! (You may still be looking for a great doctor, but now there is one less search you have to make....) read more

WE DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS SHOP! Didn't Fix the problem, charged for an oil change they didn't do & took our car on 25-mile joy ride Didn't Fix the problem: After our vehicle's extended warranty was up on our 2016 Porsche Macan S, we thought we would try a repair shop other than a Porsche dealership. Our car had an idling problem like it was going to stall at very low speeds and when idling in place. Eric told us that if we changed the cam shaft sensor and spark plugs that should fix the problem. Now of course he is saying that was a suggestion. Huh? Sure, let's give you $1500 to not fix our car. When picking up the car (after hours), in front of the shop, it sputtered! Charged for an oil change they didn't do: We declined his recommendation for an oil change since we had it changed at the Livermore Porsche dealership. Upon review of the bill, we were charged $336.33 for an oil change they didn't perform. We eventually received a credit after pointing out the billing error. We sure hope that the front Brakes ($989) that we paid for was actually done. Took our car on 25-mile joy ride: Not sure why a vehicle with an idling problem at low speeds would need to be driven farther than their parking lot? 25 miles? That's like a trip to Hayward and back. We requested that the owner call us back to discuss our concerns but he never did. We refused the offer to bring the car back to them for further analysis. Avoid, this shop lacks integrity and ethics. read more

Knowledgable and no-nonsense. This was my first time taking my Mercedes to an independent shop. I needed B-service but I balked at the price increase at the local dealership service department. Turns out European Autotech was $200 cheaper. I left the car for the day and they got the job done. I chatted with the guy in the front office after about things to keep an eye on and learned a bit about my vehicle. And that was that. No drama, no problems. Another review mentioned, "they make you feel like you are bothering them when you walk in the door." Let's be honest, this place isn't like the cushy waiting room at your local MB dealership. They have cars to service, customers to deal with. If you want to be pampered, head back to the dealership. For me, my expectations for independent repair shops are pretty low. As long as the car keeps running fine, I can save over the dealership prices, and I don't have some extremely negative interaction, then I'm golden. This place ticks all the boxes for me. read more

Let's just say for a first time customer like myself, I would not recommend this place! I was referred to this place for a simple diagnosis, upon arrival I had to wait in a freezing cold unattractive small room that looks nothing like an office should. It took a good long many minutes before the person acknowledged me, not sure if his name is Chris as he didn't introduced himself to me. He was half listening to me, very unpardonable and not accommodating at all. It's too long to go into detail, but would like to say this: I walked out of there after 20 minutes disappointed, angry and sad. I drove 16 miles 40 minutes in traffic to have my first experience to be the worse ever. Any place that will treat me like I'm not important, with an attitude that equals rudeness and lack of empathy is not worth me giving my business to. I would not recommend going there even if that is the last open business. I will make sure all my friends and family know to stay far away. read more

Please pay attention to the negative reviews from actual customers not the owner's friends. First, as others mention they make you feel like you are bothering them when you walk in the door. If my car hadn't been towed in I would have left immediately. Then, $318 to tell me "the engine sounds bad. No attempt to find the root of the problem, no diagnostics provided, no attempt to try and repair. The issue actually was resolved (by a alternate, competent mechanic) by replacing the plugs and coil which they could have easily discovered had they even bothered to take the car apart. I recommend avoiding this place. There are much better local options. read more

I have a 2009 BMW 328i and I recently had to take it in as acceleration suddenly stopped working. Chris and the team at European Autotech were able to diagnose a faulty fuel controller among several routine maintenance issues. Given the age of the car and that I didn't anticipate keeping the care long term, Chris was able to give me suggestions on where to prioritize spending. Car has been running great ever since! Thanks! read more

These guys did a great job for my "A5" service on my 2011 Mercedes E350. Scheduling was easy and convenient, with auto reminders. The front desk and service people were super friendly for a relaxing check in. They arranged for me to be driven home and then picked up when my car was ready and they even ran my car through a car wash with detail work before I got there. All in the amount of time they predicted. They checked with me about the costs before going ahead. Really excellent service. My car is running super smoothly. I will continue to take my car to these guys. read more

I read previous reviews of European Autotech after the company was purchased and decided to use them anyways since they had done some good work on my BMW. It did not work out well at all, 0/5 stars. I am a bit of a mechanic myself - and came to this shop seeking help for an 02 sensor that needed to be replaced from not passing smog. On my way over to the shop my radiator blew up - I was ok with approving the exorbitant $1.7 K estimate with the understanding that my vehicle would be able to leave the shop. I told them I was ok with approving the work with the understanding that the car could then leave the shop - they then tell me another $2k needed to get the car running. The tech here and owner went through a laundry list of repairs none of them related to my smog issue. They then had the audacity to tell me it could not leave the shop due to the car being deemed a "Safety Hazard" (no visible threads showing on my rear tires). What kind of self respecting mechanic deems a car with low tread unsafe? Answer: One that has a gen auto ged and is running an European Auto scam. Bianca the support specialist makes it impossible to understand the work being done by using this application that is incredibly hard to understand as a customer. Avoid this shop it does not value integrity or ethics. read more

Excellent service, real pros, call ahead to make and appointment. Over 39 years in business.

Unbelievable service. Technicians are amazing. Eric goes above and beyond. Always impressed with their willingness to go above and beyond from easy repairs to the most complicated. Been a ten year customer and wanted to thank Eric for helping me today on the fly!!! read more

Brought my car to European Autotech to investigate a few annoying noises from the engine. Of course, the car would not replicate the noises at the shop. These guys spent a day investigating, told me there's nothing they could find wrong, and declined to charge me for their time. That was very generous and unexpected given their effort, and shows their honesty and good business practices. I will for sure take my car back when it has another problem or needs maintenance. read more

The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly. Fixed my problem quickly and I was on my way. Recommend them. Bianca and Francisco were amazing read more

AAA certified for a reason! Great advice, communication, price, and timeline. They took my dead Honda last minute and revived it in less than a day. New alternator! Highly recommend. It's been weeks. No issues or follow-ups needed. Price is above national average, but comparable to other places in the area. Well worth the cost of professional service. read more

Had my mercedes service B done at this shop. Price was much lower than what the dealers have quoted. Also they found that my brake rotors were beginning to warp and told me to keep an eye out for it. Everything went smoothly service was done in couple hours. They also followed up with me after couple months to check to see if vehicle is working fine! Will be returning to this shop for my vehicle in the future. read more

Brought my car in for repairs, they take it. The next day they call at 8am to tell me they are refusing to do any repairs because my car had too many customizations but wanted to charge me $$$ for inspections for the things I already told them were broken. Waste of my time. Another mechanic was able to get the warranty to cover the cost of almost all the repairs and had no problem working on an upgraded show car. read more

I am a first time customer with a 2014 Audi Q5 2.0L Turbo 90K miles. Based on reviews I came here. Except for worn drive axles which I knew needed replacing, my car ran perfectly prior to service. Post service (a list of things too long to mention here) and $6,061.75 later, my car has never run worse. Sluggish, rough, unpredictable and uncomfortable. Yes, the folks here are very friendly, engaging, seem knowledgeable and relatively timely, but the proof is in the work. I took my car back to the dealer whose opinion was most of the work performed really wasn't needed (except for the previously noted drive axles and perhaps motor mounts). Autotech has recommended another $2,377 in maintenance which now totals $8,438.75. Seems high to me but then again I'm not driving a Porsche, Bentley, etc. I may give them another try after my next pension check. read more

My front passenger tire had a gash in it after running over a pothole and the car was pulling to the left when driving. European Autotech was very thorough and quick about assessing the obvious damage along with checking for additional damage that could have transpired. All was fixed in a timely manner and very nice people to work with. Thank you European Autotech! read more

European Autotech - Here is the car they take care of for me. - Auto Repair Near Me - San Ramon, California

Came here to get a smog check and the staff here is very friendly and customer oriented. Every employee that saw me waiting said hi and asked if I've been helped. The thing thing I like about this place is when they talk to you, they give you an honest answer and it feels genuine compared to other places I've been to which makes you feel like they're out to get your money. I will definitely be back when it's time for service. P.S. Stay away from Autowerks European which is down the street. Had to take away a star since coming back here for service which saved me some money going to the dealer but the tech that installed the new oil filter didn't screw it on straight which started leaking oil and ended up costing me more for the cleanup and having it done right. read more

We used these guys to rebuild our Porsche 911, before we sold it, and they did just an awesome job. It had a lot of problems and Chris fixed them all. After such a good experience, I started bringing my BMW X5 - and I am very satisfied. I was using another shop, but now it's just EUROPEAN AUTOTECH. Hey- they will fix my RAM too, so it's not just European cars. Can't go wrong with these guys! read more

I took my BMW diesel here for an oil change. The last place I had been to didn't do a very good job and was careless with a few things, and so I came to European Autotech. They did a great job on the oil change and were friendly and responsive, I was able to pick my car up a few hours after dropping it off. There was misunderstanding on one of the services that was performed, and Chris, the owner, took care of it promptly and to my satisfaction. These folks do great work - please go and see them. read more

Chris, the owner, and Shane, front office representative are the best. I have a 2007 Boxster S. In the past 5-7 years, this shop and their excellent and knowledgable mechanics have ordered and replaced my tires several times as well as tire repairs. I've had consistent oil services and scheduled service maintenance completed as recommended by Porsche. Just this week, my car required new brakes. After the last oil change, Chris and Shane explained I would need to replace my brakes after another 3,000 miles and the cost. Based on Chris and the mechanic's assessments (especially if you are a regular customer), they are able to prepare customers for upcoming service needs and costs. I appreciate being able to plan accordingly. When your car is in the shop, prior to any additional work or service recommendations (that you haven't already approved), Chris or Shane always call for approval. I have found them both professional and friendly. If needed, they are more then willing to provide a ride. When planning work on my vehicle, it's rare that I don't allow several days knowing this shop stays busy. However, I have had a few situations when I needed an eight-hour turnaround (after the parts or tires came in) and Chris made sure my car had been test driven and ready on time. Their prices are reasonable and they offer a 10% discount for AAA members. I highly recommend this shop. read more

First I got quoted $350 for a install for lowering springs which I thought was relatively cheap and a good price, I call back to make the appointment and they want $1300 to install a pair of $200 lowering springs, might as well buy the spring compressor yourself and save yourself $$$ read more

Direct and honest work. No complaints. Just had oil change and airbag light code. Will come here again.

They go the extra mile! The guys fixed my transmission for $60. No, I didn't forget a few zeros. I was told by two services shops that I needed a new transmission because it wouldn't engage in Park. I came in for the 100k service and they fixed the transmission for $60 along the way. Friendly service with professional detail and follow-up too. My car service? Running like a champ! read more

We were looking for a new auto service for our Porsche's. I found European Autotech and was able to do service for both our 911 and Panamera. Robert was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful getting everything done for our vehicles. I was also able to chat a bit with Chris (owner) on various car topics to pick his brain and was very helpful. We've finally found an auto service that can help with our vehicles!
