This auto shop is awesome. With todays hourly wages prices at dealerships skyrocketing, this auto shop was very reasonable. I had Jose place two rear splash guards to my 2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime several days ago. To say, this auto shop was clean, and patient with me. Yolanda and Jose are a husband and wife ownership team. The work was completed within a hour. I was amazed the auto shop can provide service to my 2024 vehicle. Yup, it appears they can work on all types of makes and models vehicles. I've observed some people really like this shop and others don't. I brought my car in for service and each time there was something else wrong soon after. Recently the water pump was replaced and two days later hoses related to the water pump ruptured and my car required towing back. They said it was fixed. Two months later my car started overheating again. At this point I took my car to a more reputable shop and they fixed it. Apparently German Auto Clinic only replaced the bare minimum parts, not taking into consideration that old hoses need to be replaced. From what I can tell he wasn't thorough when working on my Audi. An okay job is not good enough especially when wife drives kids around and left stranded from incomplete repairs. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! If I could leave zero stars I would. This place is a total scam. I took my 2011 BMW here to get a diagnosis since it would backfire each time I accelerated, and would not start unless I tried 4-5 times. They had my car for a total of TWO WEEKS and did NOT do what was asked. Charged me $513.98 for a new CAS module, $800 for an intake manifold gasket, and multiple other charges for stuff that WAS NOT NECESSARY. Got a still broken car back after spending $2,825.17. I did not get it back the way I left it either, parts unfinished, bolts laying out everywhere. After trying to find a loyal mechanic, back to M Service I went. So impressed with the service I received today! This shop was recommended by another highly rated mechanic. I have a 2013 C class Mercedes and the from passenger seat's mechanism to move the seat broke. The motor was working but the plastic parts to turn the cylinder broke. As typical for many high end car parts - in order to fix it the entire motor would have to be replaced. Jose had a solution. He was able to replace the broken parts by making his own. This shows a mechanic that thinks of how to solve a problem without just going to the easy fix and high charge of replacing something that doesn't need to be done. Any other place would have charged me for a new motor for the seat which would've needed to be ordered before it was installed. I dropped my car off to the German auto clinic and Jose at 9 AM and my car was repaired and ready for pick up before 1:00 the same day!!!! Oh and paid about 1/3 of what I would have paid has someone not been as brilliant to think of a cheaper solution. Before meeting Jose I had an awesome mechanic who sadly died from pancreatic cancer. I've searched 3 years to find someone like Jose - so very lucky to have found someone who smart and caring! read more

YELP NEEDS A ZERO-STAR RATING! At first glance, the employees seemed to be helpful and offered a $175 estimate to inspect my VW Jetta after my "check engine" light came on. First of all, $175 to just run an inspection?? Anyway, Jose ran the inspection and found that something was wrong with the EVAP system, could be a leak. He said he could run a test to check for a leak. Also, the throttle needed to be cleaned. So of course, more $$$. We let him run the test and clean the throttle. After all of that, Jose comes to us with 14 ADDITIONAL THINGS that is wrong with our car. Of course, he left our car with a TEMPORARY fix that'll keep the "check engine" light off and expected us to go ahead with the 14 other services that we "need." Best believe I took our business to a shop in Vallejo that has serviced our Jetta since 2007, and my guy said Jose and this company definitely tried to swindle us and bulk up our bill with unnecessary services. My guy in Vallejo ran an inspection checking over what Jose did, and he said our bill was BS. German Auto Clinic is BS. We expected great, helpful customer service and responsible technicians, but were disappointed with a greedy, sneaky operation. Never coming back, even with an emergency. My experience with Jose and Yolanda re car surpassed anyone ive dealt with my entire life. They're such honest, caring and knowledgeable people. If you need their help w your car, you'll feel lucky just as I do going there. Ive had unbelievable experiences with past auto repair shops and dealerships and had about lost all my faith, trust and energy until I got a quote from Jose through my friend's referral, the quote Jose gave me was more than reasonable. Jose went above and beyond in caring for my car. I just wanted to replace my shot compressor, drier, reciever and valve. He had the parts ready within two days of me scheduling my appointment with him. Not only did he explain everything with patience at his time of closing, he informed me of what else has been over looked at the Volkswagon dealership (they charge twice the amount for shoddy work and lose parts of your car). He also checked my transmission, brakes, rotors, tires, coolant, and even cleaned all of my windows! No I didn't ask and yes I noticed and no he didn't charge me extra from my original quote. Jose inspected my car without charge and he was really proud of his work. I am driving my car now for two days and there's no shaking on the highway, theres no squeaking in my brakes. My car runs smooth like the first time I drove it. I was just about had it with Volkswagon, they'd say squeakyness is normal in passats, gave me a pamphlet on them! They have zero guarantees, they'd tell me nothing is wrong here and there and they can't explain why I needed repairs, they told me to google it. Word for word the service guy told me "something in there blew up", "you can just google it" when they asked me to pay 2600. Jose explained and answered all the questions I had and didn't treat me like a girl who is too dumb to get an explanation about cars or try to oversell me to make money. I paid 1800 and he has earned my/family/friend's business for a lifetime! They are genuinely caring and honest people and I'm glad my car was loved the way I love my car. You know the saying. "Everything happens for a reason."? This is what happened with me and my VW Tiguan. I found them by accident while looking for parking to get my Tiguan it's maintenance service next door at VW Repair. After I got my car from the dealer repair shop, they gave me a long list of what's wrong with my Tiguan, this is after paying $700 worth of maintenance service. I was contemplating to go to German Auto Clinic and see if I can get a quote for that long list of broken items with my car, I am so glad I did! I called first and Jose answered. Let me tell you, he was the most soft spoken, genuinely nice guy you can ever bug with your questions about a car over the phone. As a girl who doesn't know much about cars and stuff, I asked him questions; many questions. Not once did I feel that he was getting irritated or annoyed. He said to bring it in and he needs to look at it for him to give me an accurate estimate. It wasn't cheap; it will cost me around $2800. I was bummed. I went home to think hard about the advice he had given me. After one week of deciding, I went back with my Tiguan and asked Jose to do whatever it takes to get to it's top shape. I picked up my car after 3 days and IT WAS RUNNING SO SMOOTHLY! Something happened in my car that I feel like it almost new. Jose and his wife (the very kind Yolanda manning the office operations) are the real deal. I can't emphasize the frustrating time I've had with my 2004 Jetta GL. I had previously sent it to another auto shop in Pleasant Hill (check my reviews if you need a name) who, as I realize now, had no clue what they were doing, charged me well over $2000+ over the course of 5 visits, and probably messed my car up even more. The professionalism I received from Jose was out of this world. He called me to give me a diagnostic update after 2 hours of receiving my car. During this time, he very clearly described what his recommendations were, why he was recommending them, and what the costs would be. I never felt pressured or belittled. I asked my questions and Jose kindly answered them. Three days later, I got my Jetta back, and it is driving buttery smooth. Jose even cleaned my car up and gave it a much needed wash (it had been sitting in a garage for almost a year, ha). My invoice was carefully printed up. None of this handwritten nonsense. A small business that has meticulous recordkeeping is a winner in my book. All work is guaranteed by German Auto Clinic for 6 months (double check, as I could be wrong, but I am certain that all work Jose does is guaranteed for a certain amount of time). Jose also pointed out things about my car that a mechanic would know only if they did a thorough review of my vehicle. No one had pointed these things out before. I was very fortunate to stumble upon Jose when I was in a pinch with a flat tire after work during Thanksgiving Eve. I visited two other tire service shops nearby and both of them had wait times of 2+ hours. When I spoke to Jose on the phone, he was wrapping up his day and about to head home. After telling him that I lived in SF and could not wait 2 hours in Walnut Creek due to a family event, he generously offered to help fix my tire even though I drive a Honda Civic (non-German car). I am extremely thankful for Jose helping me out with my tire even though he knows I am not a potential customer since I drive a Honda.
