Bought my first Airsoft rifle. Peter was amazing! He was wonderful to work with. I didn't know anything about the inside of an AEG, directed me as to what I should buy and not buy. He did not even try to upscale any thing to me. Had some problems with the three batteries that I bought, he was quick to swap it out with something that would fit my new gun with no hassle. So my friend took me to this store to help me friend a new airsoft fun for my boyfriend for Christmas. So since my friend is also my boyfriends friend he helped me pick a gun that he wanted. The guy who was selling us the gun was helping us look thru what gun he would like. My friend Corey was testing how the gun feels. I saw a Dragon brand Japanese gun that caught my eye. I asked the sales guy if I can see this gun. The gun is really heavy and medium size too. I thought this gun was cool since it's something that he would like. The sales guy was really helpful with the guns to see which one my boyfriend and my friend would like. My friend Corey also bought a airsoft gun for himself too. I paid for the airsoft gun and it was around $155 it wasn't that expensive compare to all the other airsoft guns! Horrible customer service. The first time I tried to visit the store I checked online to see if they were open before I left. When I got there it was closed. So that was the first thing that was a little upsetting. This time I went, they were actually open. I walked in this morning and I was the only customer in the store. I said hey how's it going to the employee on the computer and he just kept looking on the computer without any acknowledgement or reply. After that I asked if they had a certain brand and he said no, not making eye contact, still clicking away on his computer. He seemed like he just didn't want to help at all. So I wanted a paintball gun. Christmas shopping came early for me and I was browsing around here at the Power Edge in Kaimuki on a recent weekend. I have walked by here countless times, but never seem to go in, unless I have a purpose. Genuinely a hole in the wall for sure, you wouldn't know it until you stepped in here. I came with a friend of mine and we started to browse through what they have. Power Edge offers more than just paintball guns, but also assorted accessories to make your hobby fun and exciting. Power Edge also fixes guns if they're broken or damaged, which is cool. Much like a sporting goods store, like Sports Authority, they are the real deal and pretty much runs the gambit of all things with airsoft guns / paintball guns. Make no mistake, that these guns do look like the real stuff, so it's always wise to be mindful about carrying these things in public where people can mistake it for the real thing and you can attract a lot of problems that way. With that said, Power Edge is pretty much the leader when it comes to these kinds of things. Power Edge has two locations: the one already mentioned in Kaimuki and the other near Ala Moana Shopping Center, on Piikoi Street. The Kaimuki location is located on Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki, across the street from Big City Diner and nearby the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Sierra Drive and Waialae Avenue. The website says there's private parking available, but I wouldn't know anything about that. My friend and I just walked from the house and we're just golden. The staff here knows guns and they aren't afraid to showcase it. The store itself is small essentially, but they do pack a lot of accessories here. It's amazing what a world paintball can be if you get into it. My mind and eyes opened up and saw the large assortment of guns displayed on the wall and in the glass cases. Unbelievable. It was pretty crazy how people can get into these things and I can see why. Yes, you can tell that I am a novice, but I guess for me, having a paintball gun seems to be the in-thing nowadays. I wanted to have one just for a collector's item and not to play around with it. My friend seemed to know what he was doing, so I just followed his lead. I just gazed at the wall of guns and just tried to soak up the ambiance. The prices for any particular gun can range from $250 to $1,000 easily. I was pretty much sticker shocked, but it is what it is. It's an expensive hobby, and I know how that can be. If it keeps us happy, then why not, right? I can tell that this place isn't for the enthusiast, but for the serious gamer, who loves to have a nice time with friends and loves to rack up kills in any random pick up game. Power Edge accepts all major credit cards, so that's a major plus, especially when any weaponry can be as much as an airline ticket or a monthly car payment! The ambiance of the store was nice, although I did get that newbie vibe from the people who was there. All good though. While I didn't buy anything right away, I got a good glimpse inside of what the world of paintball / airsoft guns was all about and not just the stereotypical stuff you hear from media and friends. While this business does cater to the intermediate and advance players, I have no doubt that I could be one of those people too, if I commit myself to this sport and join in on the fun. I thought these guns would've been priced cheaper, but I was so wrong. The Power Edge has an "All Sales Final" policy, so don't buy anything and try to return it after a day of using it. Once you buy it, you're pretty much stuck with it. Oh, yeah, they do have a small arena to play: the "CQB" arena. That's pretty cool for folks who want to play with their new purchases. The staff is cool, including the owner, although sometimes, haggling and being pushy isn't the way to go about soliciting business. I guess everyone has to make money somehow, right? Overall, my experience is a good one here at the Power Edge. It's interesting to see this business in Kaimuki, but never been in here until you need the particular goods or service. Used to come here allll the time. Both to shop and play. The staff was always nice to me, and helped me out with stuff. The CQB arena is a bit small for my liking, but its still really fun. There are a few cheaters here, but hey, thats what you have to expect in a game right? The refs were cool. Had some good times hanging with them and everything. Never had any problems with service, refs or anything. Only thing I dont like is pricing...... but that cant really be helped, their markup versus online pricing is correct, not too high. I was in a rush and figured I could stop by right when they opened (Yelp and their website says they open at 11am). Got there at 11:05 am and the place is locked up. The sign in their window said store hours are noon - 8pm (starting to get frustrated). The # on the "Store Hours" sign is disconnected (more frustration). The website phone number sounds like a cellphone voicemail, and the recording is just a generic voicemail message, it doesn't even give the company name (I double-checked the ph#). This was my first time visiting the store and unfortunately, I only had the patience to wait 5 minutes before leaving (the store was still closed when I left at 11:10am). The item I was looking for seemed to be priced the same as I could get online, so that is a plus. In my experience, local niche stores like this excel in product knowledge and are very helpful. Went back for PE's 15 Year Anniversary sale and picked up an ERG. Oddly enough, the store was entirely empty outside of Peter and who I believe to be a tech (Asian fellow). He didn't speak much, but when he did, it was to answer questions in a non-abrasive manner. As mentioned in my previous review, just understand that Peter (the owner) is your typical Chinese "car salesman" and will try to close a "All Sales Final" deal with you. That being said, his advice does not come without experience. He's been a player, dealer, and enthusiast for decades now and does know what he's talking about when he does try to help you out. If you're experienced, or at least know what you want, skip the bush-walking and just tell him what you want and try to get a deal if you can. The store has since grown since my last visit (nearly 2 years ago) and I was surprisingly pleased with my most recent visit. First time coming to this shop! Great products and selections to start with. Looked around, and found so many things I wanted! It was like a candy shop! Prices are pretty good, and affordable to get something home. Had a few car accessories and thought what a great way to get something for my car too! Parking is a little tough, but that just means it worth it to get a good spot and check the store out. Peter is the owner, and welcomed me with open arms. I usually go to the Tactical store since it's close by my workplace. I purchased by first AEG here, a KWA M4 DEVGRU. And I must say I like it, the staff did a great job explaining to me about the gun and what it can do. In terms of accessories I think their gear is a bit overpriced, I can pick up BLACKHAWK! gear cheaper online. But they have a great selection but hardly have any stock. I came in to purchase a magazine dump pouch and they didn't have any extra and when I asked when they would receive it a staff member told me whenever they get a shipment in. Yeah, great. I think their POS system is a little screwed up. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes just to purchase one item from the store because their intranet wouldn't work. So I ended up paying cash and getting one of those 3 color paper receipts. Come on guys, I know stuff happens but if there's a problem at least make it up to the customer. Even 5% off would have made it worth the wait. If not I can always take my money elsewhere. read more

Liked this place when i first went there a couple weeks ago, bought a airsoft hand gun that same day and love it. they had a rifle on sale and wanted to go back today to check it out and buy (cash in my pocket), but unfortunately they didn't open. signs and net say 11:00 am sat in the parking lot for an hour waiting for the store to open and there was one of the employees out there waiting to go to work but alas no one showed up to open the store. Seems to me the owner should have more than one person able to open up rather than leaving people outside waiting. Don't know if i'll go back, doesn't seem to care about business. read more

So I recently got into airsoft. I know, welcome to five years ago Andrew! Anyway, just got into the whole scene and I am hooked. Bought a rifle, pistol, extra mags, tactical gear...everything!!! I guess in retrospect, I could've spent my money on more important things like...video games and bubblegum, but airsoft is where it all went. Power Edge is a pretty nifty store, selling everything you need to get into the hobby. From AEGs, pistols, gas, bbs, gear, knives, etc. Power Edge has it all. The Waialae location has CQB(close quarter combat) arena inside the store so that was pretty cool, a little dirty and splintery, but it made due. The arena itself is tiny, maybe the size of an apartment? SO, I suggest if you come here to play aisoft, wear protective clothing!! Why Andrew? Only weenies wear sweaters to an airsoft game, you're only getting shot with tiny bbs. FALSE!!! Winners wear protective gear to airsoft games, consisting of a vest, face-mask, neck protector, gloves and covered shoes. Those bbs are coming out of guns shooting them at 400 fps(feet per second)...that's 273 mph(miles per hour)!!! At 5 yards away, a bb traveling at 400 fps will break skin! ((O)_(O))!!! Don't be a hero, wear clothing that will protect yourself from harm. Overall, the store is a cool place to browse around and see what's new in the world of airsoft. I would suggest coming here and pricing out what you need to get and then going online to see how much money you can save :) All, jokes aside, Power Edge is pretty expensive. I bought 2 H&K G36 HiCap mags for $35 a piece, I looked online and found the exact same mags for $20 a piece...sad times. I would say just come here to browse, ask questions about the products you're interested in and then see if they're prices fit your budget. First time in an Airsoft store. We had to wait a little for the owner to return but it was defiantly worth the wait. Not knowing a thing about the sport or what to buy as a starter, Peter was very knowledgeable and preached us about the safety of an Airsoft weapon. Had a very hard time finding this place according to google. :( didn't know that tactical and the regular shop were the same... But I do now.. If you can park in the parking lot right behind ichiriki... Too bad it was full up when we went down because it was like 7:30 on Saturday night... Anyways... The shop is very clean, it's a lot more crowded then the older location... Which made it a little tight to walk around in... When we first got there the guys working are very nice, they greet you and talk to you right away... Maybe it was because we were the only ones there... But they try and help you as much as they can to the point of being super pushy and nosey. I know there are tons of people out there that want to be helped right away, but I'm not the type. I want the greeting and then when I'm ready to ask questions, if I want to, I'll ask. I don't like to be prodded and pushed into talking. The guy talking about the airsoft guns was too pushy for me... My husband was able to thwart him off by taking all of his attention. The guy helping with the knives was very kind and patient, but sadly, a lot of the knives were kind of pricey :(.. They had a nice variety too... Amazing knowledge, the younger guy has a lot of information to offer especially to new/newish players like myself. The price point is manufacturer set so guarantee good prices on the models they offer, with the assurance of being able to pick up the guns to make sure they "fit right," in your hand. Good little local airsoft shop; they have guns, accessories, parts and knives. They also have a cqb field next door although i have never played there. Onto the shop: its small, but they have nearly everything you need, with good quality parts. Walked in one night to check out their flashlight selection. As the store was completely empty, I became the only target for the older salesperson to latch onto. I'm a bit of a flashlight collector, so I was happy to start talking about the merits of the new Surefire models, but the guy tried to hard sell me on several different models, even after I'd told him I wasn't interested in buying anything, let alone a $250 flashlight. He just wouldn't relent; he even tried to "sweeten the deal" by bundling a pack of batteries with the light. Meanwhile the other salesperson looked on silently. The entire interaction was a bit surreal, really. I don't see any reason to give them business, especially when flashlights are cheaper to get online. I literally had to walk out of the store in the middle of his sales pitch because the stubborn moron couldn't take no for an answer. Furthermore, he was wrong about a rather important point. Who knows if he was just mistaken or purposefully lying. He tried desperately to sell me what he claimed to be a titanium Surefire T1A for $180, but the T1A is made from aluminum -- that's what the 'A' in T1A stands for! The original Surefire T1 (no 'A') was indeed titanium, but that was a limited release that cost a few hundred dollars and is now a collector's item. So due to the rudeness, aggressiveness, and creepy pseudo-tatical mall ninja motif that the store surrounded itself with, I can't recommend stopping by this place. read more

When you're a noob to airsoft, this is the place to go. Peter and his staff are top notch sales people. PE has an awesome selection.

Peter is the man when it comes to airsoft. He really does help you choose an airsoft gun whether its your first or your 100th. He is very kind, acknowledges you, informative, and respectful. He tells you which brand is better than the other, he breaks down pros and cons about an item. He lets you test fire before purchasing. What I really do like about the shop is that he removes all the orange tips from his selection. Giving all airsoft guns the appeal of a real firearm. Most of the airsoft guns are metal and heavy which is a good thing, its not plastic and light making it feel generic. Not the case, it looks and feels REAL. Peter works by himself now. The other guy was driving customers away. Now its just Peter. He works by himself for himself now, taking it back to the roots of when he first started the shop. The staff really knows their stuff. If you are looking for airsoft stuff, this is the place to go. Everything else on island pales in comparison to this place. It can be a little pricey for something but remember that you are getting what you are paying for and not a chinese piece of crap knock off. Went in on a recon to check the place out, the person that was there I assume was a tech and sales associate, at first his attitude was condescending, after I talked to him he soon realized that I am a regular player, at which point he talk to me very friendly and openly on topics in reguard a to airsoft here on Oahu. Very knowledgeable on aeg, and gas guns, not too much on HPA. The store in general had a small selection of various airsoft guns primarily electric with a couple gas powered scattered amongst them pricing is appropriate for Hawaii. The internal parts section was fairly large a wide variety of parts for AEG's and gas blowback the main gas blowback parts I saw were for pistols. If you're in need of getting a new AEG check them out they would be able to square you away. read more

Poor service. Some asian guy with glasses helped me out (not to be racist didn't get his name). I was asking him about gas blowback rifle and if there accurate. He said no and we try not carry them. I ask why and he told me people think its "S%$%" at that moment i knew this guy wasn't so friendly and that his service wasn't going to be great. I told him "will thank you" i try to shake his hand and he turned away even though he seen me try to. If your going to run a business with people acting like that then your going to loose money honestly I'd rather go to epower sports in Aiea more friendly less hassle. read more

My son wanted a an airsoft gun so we ended up at power edge waialae. Took 20 minutes just to get a parking. left the store spending 505.55$ After getting home to Kauai charging the lipo battery that they "upsold" me (additional 100$ with charger) oh and also didn't give me the factory battery or charger!! the gun shot maybe 500 rounds and broke. I called them and sent it back to Oahu to be repaired. After getting it back it fired maybe 300 rounds and broke again!! first it would not shoot semi they said the battery was too strong so multiple rounds come out on semi?? then it just stop shooting. im over it!! called king arms and they said power edge is not even a dealer for them ??? so now I have a 500$ useless toy !! read more

Like Susan T mentioned the workers here are SUPER pushy to the point that they irritated the bejesus out of me and I left the store. They watch you like a hawk, are extremely aggressive when they try to close a sale. Talking about this is the last one and we won't get any more of these in. They still make the product, it's widely available at Amazon.com $30.00 cheaper too. Please relax when it comes to sales, ask if we have any questions and fall the hell back. Go read a book or something, do whatever you guys do. I remember going to the one off Waialaae and the sales people there were never like this. I don't recall the sales people I saw there working at the prior location. But when visiting the old location a few years back I never had this horrible experience.
