I was heading to Alaska for the first time and had no idea what to expect, especially when it came to buying base layers. I didn't know anything about material thickness or what I actually needed. I called the Patagonia Honolulu store and was helped by Taylor. She immediately put my mind at ease and her customer service quickly exceeded my expectations! She explained exactly what they carried, checked their current stock, and put some items on the side for me so I could come down and try them on. Once we arrived, she was incredibly patient and helpful. My son came along with me and had a ton of questions of his own, and Taylor was just as patient and thorough with him. We walked out with my new base layers, and even my son commented on how the store was filled with staff who had customer service just flowing out of their pores! I usually don't go here but got recommendations of them having pretty good running gear. The material is definitely lightweight and easy to move in but also good quality. I appreciate the ease of movement and moisture-wicking material which makes it really good for optimum running motion. I was satisfied with my shirt and shorts I got. Will definitely be using these for my runs. I mostly knew Patagonia for being popular with tourists for the shirt that has Patagonia Honolulu on it but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of their workout gear. read more

Patagonia. Heard the name. Seen people wear its t-shirts. Actually thought it was for the place in Argentina. Oh! It's a brand. And we have a store here in Hawaii too--located along Ward Ave between Waimanu and Kawaiahao Street with plenty of unshaded parking. The inside is very open, clean, cool, and comfortable. Everything was quite organized and each section was spacious. The first time I came here I couldn't really understand how most of the clothes aren't even for Hawaii weather..... or Hawaii pockets.... unless you travel to many places to do winter sports and activities. Funny enough, I received a gift card for Pantagonia shortly after my first visit. Now that I need to actually buy something. I focused on the casual, running/training, ocean activity areas. Needless to say, everything was quite expensive in my opinion. The quality is there and the clothes do feel similar to other brands. Is it worth THAT much though? My co-worker says this place is like the Lululemon for outdoors. Sounds about right. Overall, this store was really nice, cool, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything really organized. It's quite niche. I guess if I need some ice climbing gear, I'll know where to go. Eventually I got a pair of shorts. Regular price is $135. We checked out the location in Haleiwa and figured we might as well go to the one in the city as well since it was easier to get to for us. Selection was slightly bigger here if you were looking for location specific stuff (Honolulu and Hawaii merch). It's also much bigger as well. Staff was super friendly as far as giving us advice on on sizing and pull sizes in the back. We left with 5 or 6 more shirts from here so to us, it's definitely worth checking out if you're big on location specific stuff. read more

The knowledge the employees relay of a certain piece of clothing to the quality, the designs and the life time guarantee is what draws me back to the company. It's not hard to see why the clothes and accessories can be considered a great value even at the higher than normal cost. I've had an incident where a pair of joggers were torn right down the middle (the pants got caught on some very sharp lava rock) and once they were returned to me after being submitted to Patagonia for a repair, they came back even stronger, almost as if it were upgraded to a newer, better design. Not sure where else you'll get the same customer service and care. I'd highly recommend anyone to purchase from Patagonia - if you're a runner, hiker, fisherman, into winter sports, climbing, surfing - I'm sure they'll have something for you that will last for a lifetime. read more

I wish this store received more Pataloha merchandise. I feel like if they carried various Pataloha items, in different sizes, that it would draw in more customers and ultimately, more business. The employees took time to get to know customers which I liked. There were multiple times during my visit that several employees asked how I was doing and if I needed help finding anything. Patagonia went from an insanely tiny shop only to be forced out by condo was a hilarious outcome considering they're here to represent exactly what its representation belief in the core of this amazing place. Relocating to the historic Dearborn Building (which I do remember they day it was the Universal Building) is the perfect fit for all as they reuse this glorious treasure keeping the views here stunning. Walking in and to finally see what they've done to the interior is not something we're used to see here in Hawai'i as it's so spacious!! As we're slowly getting eco friendly with recycling, eco bags and more Patagonia is so inspiring just stepping into the door. Walking in you see outerwear for everyone, along with some accessories, totes, books and snacks all in an environment with total belief or reuse and making items to last which makes reuse a lasting experience. With probably the largest lounge area I've ever seen one that's behind the cash wrap house a humbling information of their Environmental Grantees lists and even "Source" with hydropanels on the roof for renewable water is all new to me but was just so fascinating! Still in search for some outerwear I will definitely be back as being in a convenient yet busy area, once you enter here is like a slight escape to another comfort level. Thank you! read more

A cool store to check out even if you have no intention on buying anything. They have a cool free purified water system that makes water from the air using solar energy. Another area has free native Hawaiian seeds. The clothes are awesome. But sales are uncommon. I have a lot of Pategonia clothes over 20 years old and still good. I don't pay retail prices and I only buy Pategonia clothes when there are end of season sales online. I came here a few days before Xmas and there were no sales. read more

I'm a huge fan of Patagonia as it is, so upon finding out there was a location here in Honolulu, I definitely had to come and check this place out. I was definitely not disappointed. The store itself is pretty big with a wide range of selections from t-shirts, bags, jackets and more. Walking in kind of reminded me of walking into a REI with out big it is and just how things were laid out. The main thing I was looking for here was something you couldn't get anywhere else, and that is their Pataloha stuff that is exclusive to Hawaii. The Pataloha branding that they offered included t-shirts and tote bags (from what I saw). The store was very clean and well organized. One of the biggest Patagonia stores I've ever stepped foot in. Love the open space floor plan. Especially in a historic building. Great selection of gear. Exclusive Pataloha merchandise - shirts, long sleeved shirts, tote bags, etc. Got lucky to stop by on a day where they just restocked. We had all sizes available. Staff said that it's hard for them to keep the shirts on the shelf, they always sell out. Pataloha shirts cost a little more than their regular shirts - ranging from $49 to $60. Always been a huge supporter of the brand & their mission. I loved visiting this location... we went twice in a week. Really helpful & friendly staff. Got some stickers with my purchase. Enjoyed being in the Patagonia Honolulu store. It is huge with lots of great clothes and cute bags and shirts. Products are functional and durable, too. Many try-on rooms. Comfy seats to wait if your friend is trying something on like the pants or shorts. Large parking lot is outside of store. After store hours - sometimes there are special showings. I am here to see the concerns and conservation efforts of the snail in Hawaii. Some unique species are extinct due to the Jackson chameleon, cannibalistic wolf snail, the rat and humans. read more

Went in looking for a holiday gift and left really falling in love with the space and community Patagonia Honolulu has cultivated. When I came in, there was an artist doing stamping on tote bags up front. And I recently checked online and they regularly host community events like monthly storytimes for the keiki, workshops, and art sales. It's way more than just a store, it's a community space. Speaking of the space, it's huge! I've been to a few other patagonia stores and this is by far the biggest one I've ever seen. They really have everything, even winter things if you're planning a trip to a cold place! They have quite a few Hawaii / Honolulu themed items like tote bags and t-shirts- great place to grab a gift for someone or a keepsake if you're visiting. They are dog-friendly here, so I was able to bring my pup in as we shopped. Everyone was so welcoming to us! Definite must. This is far different from your average Patagonia stores because this place has authentic PATALOHA shirts which you can ONLY get in Hawaii. Be the trend setter and get these shirts ($50)!! I brought some back to the mainland and people were amazed how coool these are and it just looks great too. Beware though! Sizes are limited especially men's larges and women's mediums as these fly off the shelves like no other. One of the workers wrote my information down and asked when I would be leaving the island in case any shipments come with the sizes but they hardly have it unless you live there. I was always intrigued by the Universal Building on Ward Avenue; it was vacant as long as I can remember. With the changes at Ward Village, Patagonia moved from their tiny spot down the road to this building, which they completely renovated yet kept the historic charm of the building. On a recent afternoon with a friend, we decided to poke our heads in and look around. I've already been back since. The floorplan is all open; exposed concrete floors, big open windows, a lofted area for a coffee shop (maybe coming soon), and wood shelving and racks. Immediately inside the doors are the cashiers with lounges behind; this place has the vibe that you're welcome to sit and read as well as shop. Primarily, this is an outdoor outfitter, but they also have books, Patagonia Provisions foods, and ecology exhibits throughout the store. One bonus I appreciated is a plaque about the history of the building and the neighborhood including photos. The staff here has been fantastic on our visits. Justin talked to me about Kernza, the Patagonia collaboration beer (which they cannot carry), and related food. I stopped in to buy the Kernza pasta and boxes of breadfruit chips; their food is unique and worth reading about in itself. Also shout out to the extremely friendly and polite security guard. Prices here are on par with the quality of the brand, one bonus is a 20% off discount for locals with ID. Parking is ample right outside and free. I look forward to stopping by more often, it's definitely more of an experience than just shopping at a store. read more

Have you folks ever heard about this store called - Patagonia??? I don't think I would have ever walk into this store if not for my friend, who wanted to check this place out. Located on Ward Ave., just across the street from Asahi Grill, you can find Patagonia in a warehouse looking structure that used to be some sort of lighting business. Upon walking into this store, I was really surprised at how beautiful this retail store was laid out. What does Patagonia sell? Well, if you're a fan of "North Face" clothing, then this is a similar type clothing store. Not only do they have winter gear, but it appears they sell gear for summer wear, as well as bags & backpacks, surf gear, baseball caps/hats, sunglasses, casual aloha wear, & luggage. Very nice staff, as when we entered the store we were greeted right away. Lots of free parking in the private parking lot in front of the store entrance area, so getting here is pretty easy. I found the store to be clean and spacious with a layout that was quite inviting. I loved the purple logo shirt but I was told by a gentleman that it was only available in women's... men's shirts had some boring colors and many were emblazoned with "Pataloha" which back on the mainland people will not understand. I wanted a Logo in a bright color with the location. Sadly that didn't exist. I will return and request it each time I walk through the door... like Andy Dufreane in Shawshank Redemption with his numerous book requests to build the library. If you're a fan of Patagonia clothing, you'll love this new store which looks like a warehouse from the back, and houses Hawaiian clothing specific to the islands. I ended up buying a Pataloha shirt as memento of my trip and look forward to seeing the new designs for summer. This location is super great. My husband and I stumbled upon this store during our recent trip to Oahu and we were very happy with the service and products. We got some Pataloha shirts to bring back for friends/family and there was a large selection of Patagonia-Hawaii items to go through. What really made this store get a full five-stars was not only the cleanliness and in-stock items, but it was the service of their employees. They make sure that everyone is being helped and taken care of. This store location is a little further away from the Waikiki crowded area which is super nice and it has it's own parking lot. My finally bought my first Patagonia jacket! I have been wanting one for the longest time but the price was a little steep for me... but not with the 50% off sale! Wow, what a deal! I even bought one for my husband (tho he didn't really need it). But it will be perfect for our trip to Japan in a couple of months. The selection of sale items were so good! A nice assortment and it was nicely displayed... not all on one big round rack like other retailers. The staff were so nice and friendly! Oh I love this Patagonia! I live in LA and sometime I go to Santa Monica. I love Patagonia since I was in high school. I loved the very first Patagonia shop in Japan so my whole family wears Patagonia. This store has so many selections and all staffs are super friendly and helpful. I was in Hawaii and I visited this location 3 times. The first I got a cap(says "Pataloha") and a pair of pants. Second visit I got a T-Shirt and at the third visit I got a zipped hoodie. From small to bigger space, Patagonia just moved to their new location last February this year. New location is in 535 Ward Avenue across Shell Gas Station with their own parking space for their patronage with no other business shops to share. Upon entering, we were greeted with one of the staffs. And I immediately gasp with how they upgraded really good. I love the ambiance & the welcoming atmosphere of the shop. From wall decor which were handpicked perfectly to its more items displayed on the racks & shelves. I love the authentic summer vibes of the store as well. They even have this corner where you can sit (but was unavailable to use when we went there) while browsing your phone or read magazine(s) or just simply chill. Love how they put real buko, real tropic plants & books (I'm not sure if they are for sale or what) for aesthetic purposes. They add the vibrant & happy mood inside the shop. Interior design is really creative & friendly. Totally love everything about it. And if you are thirsty, they even got the water station where you can refill your empty water bottle. They also have five nonprofit organizations that they support; Hawaii PEPP, Ko'olau Mountains Watershed Partnership (KMWP), 808 Cleanups, Kako'o Oiwi & Paepae o He'eia. And also, don't you know that they are taxing themselves 1% just to support these environmental nonprofits working to defend our air, water & land around the globe? Now that's something you wanna support! We leave the store with my bandit's purchased of baggies shorts. His very first swimwear after years & years of living the island life. And now, he can't wait to go back to buy two more for backup. Not cheap though but hey, just remember those activities they did to help Mama Earth on this battle against human race. For those of you that didn't know, this store opened its doors about 2 years ago and is still surviving throughout this pandemic. My family and I booked a trip to Iceland and a few friends told us to go here to grab some winter and outdoorsy type of clothes for the trip. And that's just what we did. Totally outside of my comfort zone because I had no idea what it was that I was looking for. But Jess and her team were friendly and super accommodating. They gave suggestions on what would work best for what we're looking for. And if the items were not in store, they even whipped out an iPad and helped us shop online. There's free shipping to the store for any dollar amount, and if you're online shopping at home there's a specific limit that you need to reach, in order get free shipping. So moral of the story, ship free to the store or buy a certain amount of items for free shipping to your home! All in all, this was a great shopping experience and we will definitely be back! read more

The people who work here truly exemplify ALOHA. As soon as we walked in, everyone was full of smiles and greeted us. I was asked multiple times if I needed assistance in a non-pushy way. Once I found what I needed, they were so great to help me look through their racks. I was initially told they didn't have the jacket I wanted and could order it to ship to CA, but I declined since we lived pretty close to Patagonia ourselves. One of the employees was adamant about helping me find the jacket so she went to the back and looked forever, finding my jacket in my size! I was so grateful and really felt the Aloha there. Everyone was honestly so friendly that I felt like a regular chatting with them. They asked what was the occasion for my jacket and I explained I needed it for an international trip. We talked about my itinerary for the trip and they were as ecstatic as I was for all the great activities I'd be doing. Seriously felt like I was chatting with my friends! Their selection of Pataloha stuff is adorable and I wish I bought more stuff. but our suitcase was pretty full already. Sadly an overhyped shop and a pass. There's so much potential but the designs are mediocre at best. It's a famous tourist trap because it's the 2nd largest Patagonia shoppe in the US, but it's actually the regular size of a small Uniqlo. After you walk in, there's no WOW factor, no valuable sales, no interactive elements, and no aloha spirit for customer service. There are Hawaii specific designs for shirts, mugs and gear, but they lack the soul/color/uniqueness that capture the core of Hawaii. So much untapped potential. read more
