I couldn't recommend this gun store more I'd give it six stars if I could. A lot of gun shops can feel intimidating, especially if you're new or still learning. Some places make you feel like you don't belong if you ask questions. That's not the case here at all. I walked in with no experience, and they took the time to help me understand everything. I left not only with the right parts and modifications for my AR-15, but they even installed everything for me. Since then, I haven't gone anywhere else. Their knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to help are unmatched. I also purchased an FCU for my SIG P320 from them they were the only shop on the island that had one, and they priced it fairly without trying to overcharge. I've bought hundreds of rounds of ammo from them as well, always at great prices--some of the best I've seen on the island. Most recently, I purchased a CZ Shadow 2 Compact, and it arrived on island in just two days. What really sets them apart is how well they educate their customers. They took the time to fill in my knowledge gaps and made sure I fully understood the pistol before buying it. That level of service is rare. I had no idea this place existed even though I live like block away from this shop. I stopped by once to just look around and ask some questions but ended up buying my first AR15 very next day because of their friendly atmosphere and amazing service. They weren't trying to sell me the most expensive AR 15 and was very helpful with all my noobie questions. They were out of stock on what I wanted but to my surprise, they called me very next day asking if I still wanted to order it since they got it at the warehouse next day. I literally ran down there and put in my order and got my rifle in like 4 days. I also picked up extra magazine and red dots as well as iron sights. He was super friendly, very informative about different types of firearms, firearm safety and proper procedures. He notified me once the gun arrived on island and allowed me to make an appointment to stop in and inspect it. Once I received the permit to pick it up, it was a simple stop in, fill out the paperwork, then on my way. At first sight, this shop might make you wonder if you in the right place. It is very small and shares and entrance with a snack shop. However, once you get in and talk to Dwayne, you will find that he is one of the most knowledgeable and definitely nicest gun-guys on the island. I had him sell my AR for me on consignment and the whole process was very easy. I made an appointment, took the gun down to his shop, easily agreed on an asking price, and handed him the rifle and registration paperwork. It took about a month to find a buyer, whereupon I received a check in the mail. This experience far exceeded my expectations and I can confidently say that I won't be going anywhere else for my next fire-arms related sale or purchase. After calling a half dozen gun stores and not finding the gun I was looking for I turned to Gallery of Guns online. Danger Close was listed to do the transfer so I went with them. Their price was pretty much the best. My order arrived within a few days and the owner immediately sent me all the firearm information to get the permit started with HPD. There is a guy on the Island (who I won't name) that kind of has a reputation like the Soup Nazi for guns and I'm always on edge just setting foot in his store. Dwayne is 180 degrees the exact opposite. Super nice guy, super mellow, super convenient location and he is open late so I can swing by after work. I bought a gun online from Bud's Gun Shop, and he transferred it for 35 bucks. Easiest gun purchase ever, he's already in the system at Bud's so all you had to do is chose him as the receiver. This place is a very good example of what a small business is in Hawaii the owner Dwayne was friendly and professional and he adjusted his schedule to fit my schedule which most all gun shops won't do and for a tiny hole in the wall place you wouldn't even guess there was a gun shop just by looking at it from the outside and once you enter through the door the smell of cookies permeated the air as you find yourself in what appears to be a little family owned store that sells all kinds of delicious smelling cookies and snacks then to the right you take one step into another doorway and find yourself in the gun store that's no bigger than a walk in closet. But don't let that fool you because as I looked around I was amazed at what surrounded me in such a tiny place, wall to wall from the ground up was everything you'd find in a typical large gun store including hard to come by ammo including hard to get ammo like 7.62 x 54r in original tin cans, Mags galore and Gun parts from AR's to other miscellaneous parts!this place is like the ultimate Man Cave closet space lol, and what I like the most about this place being so small is that I don't have to wait for help from staff who's busy helping other customers like other bigger stores. I'm very happy to have found this hidden gem tucked away in a little family store. I'll definitely be supporting this small businesses and encourage you to check it out for yourself. The only negative thing is that it only has street parking but I can tell you based on the deal I got from Dwayne is that it was well worth it for me. I had recently purchased my first handgun from Danger Close Tactical, a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 compact. No store had it on island at the moment so either way I had to special order it. I believe Dwayne quoted me the best price for that specific handgun, So I called to schedule an appointment to order my gun. The store front is small, but I much rather preferred it,especially as a first time gun buyer. Dwayne is a really great guy and really helpful too. when I went in to order my gun I got cold feet and wanted to see what other options were out there. Dwayne recommended a bunch of other handguns and helped me compare them. I'm a broke college student so I wanted to be sure I checked out my other options before I pulled the trigger. Not once did I feel forced to buy anything even after Dwayne helped me out for nearly an hour, you can truly tell that he cares about his customers. After I pulled the trigger on the gun, Dwayne provided me with the paperwork I needed to apply for my permit which was a huge help to me as a first time gun owner. Two weeks later I got my permit and was ready to pick up my handgun. I called Dwayne to ask if he was open because Covid -19 was making things go crazy, thankfully he was.
