I only came here for the selection of glasses, as I already have a optometrist I like. The high-end frame selection here is COMPREHENSIVE with a fair range of value priced brands that are typically covered if you have vision insurance. I came in 20 minutes to closing and the blonde female employee basically speed shopped with me. It's a very boutique experience. We tried on maybe 20 pairs among 5 brands. I was able to place 3 on hold and choose a pair the next day. When I put my order in, my insurance and everything took about 5 business days, a week shorter than expected. I loved the selection and would definitely recommend if you like brands like Michael Kors, Tom Ford, D&G, Ray-Bans, and Chloe. read more

Unprofessional and need lots of training!!! We waited for her, struggling for getting the right info of our insurance . I let her talked on the phone w my husband so my husband can help her regarding insurance. She struggled to go through with our insurance via her computer. My husband checked online, this place DO EXCEPT our insurance!!!!. I had eyes exam and got a perscription sunglasses last year!! She asked my husband social security number, etc. We had an appointment with Poway Eyeworks at 1230pm. The girl said I can reschedule my son appointment. Wow, really? The big problem was that she put down the phone on the counter table while my husband was still talking to her on the phone. How rude!!! I called a different optometrist at RB. Lucky me that there was a spot for my son to see an optometrist today. The other opt at RB went through our insurance without any problem at all!!!! Ordered 2 designer glasses. Everything went smoothly. Happy, friendly and knowledgeable staff at THE other optometrist. I looked back....wow, what a stressful experience with Poway Eyeworks. Stressful! No way we can go back there anymore, I was planning to add my whole family. No! You lost 5 customers. Pls, do more training to your worker, be friendly, put a smile and be proffesional for customer satisfactions. I wish I know exactly her name. "IT" might be Alissa. She just a plain cold worker! I was able to book a last-minute appointment for my first visit Poway Eyeworks. From the minute I got there until the minute I left, I was treated with kindness, caring and professionalism. Dr. King was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly, and in language I could understand! I came for both glasses and contacts. If you utilize their scheduling feature on their website, you still may want to call their office to confirm. In my case I called to confirm, spoke to Alyssa who told me she'd call me back and never did. So, I had to call back again. Fast forward to me placing an order for contacts. I called to finalize a trial of Acuvue Oasys and place an order for a 6-month supply, which I paid for by credit card. One week later, I call to find out the status of my order and was told they'd call me back, which of course never did. A lot of back and forth by phone without any answers prompted me to stop by in-person today. At this point, I just wanted a copy of my prescription so I can purchase GD contact lenses from a more competent office. Apparently, that was too too difficult for Alyssa. She insisted that I needed to wait for the doctor to come in tomorrow to finalize and sign off on my prescription. Of course I asked why that was necessary when I already placed an order for contacts with true updated prescription. She suggested she get her manager to assist me, which I would have welcomed, however another employee graciously came to my rescue, explained that my order was delayed and re-ordered, printed a copy of my prescription. When I asked if the print out would suffice "without the signature" (said while looking at Alyssa), she said yes- they have a stamp of the signature. The lack of customer service, care or concern from Alyssa is absolutely astonishing. I sincerely recommend that you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Eyeglasses and contacts aren't cheap! So go to an optometry office that will give you the service that you deserve! read more

Worst eye doctor and customer service. The Doctor is rude and makes no attempt to provide decent customer service. The doctor never got the order correct. The first set of contacts came in which was the wrong prescription, took over a year for them to get the contacts even close and by the time I went to order they required another eye exam because it was over a year. At some point this eye doctor forget that they are in the field of medicine and only concerned with draining your pockets. Typically I support everything in Poway as we are a small family community, in this case I recommend finding another doctor, one that is ethical in its practice. read more

This location was recommended by a friend. Went in for an eye exam and contacts. My exam was quick and efficient. The staff was friendly and the doctor actually seemed to care (a rarity these days). They had my brand of contacts, which was a big plus. I REALLY liked that I could fill out all their patient forms using my phone ahead of time. Any business that saves me time makes me a big fan. The location is very convenient if you are in North County and it's located in a shopping center with lots of other businesses, including restaurants. This location feels upscale, so you may pay more than some of those 'discount' eye places, but you get what you pay for. C'mon, it's your eyes. They're worth it. read more

The doctor was great, Dr Lee was very caring, knowledgeable, professional and very nice. The staff on the other hand really needs more training, the lady that greeted me at the front desk, I think her name was Marcia, and did the intake acted like it was her first day. Maybe it was I didn't ask, but she certainly needed a lot more training than she got. I liked the Yelp deal of 33% off. The frames were a bit pricey, I haven't bought glasses in a while so maybe that's what they cost. read more

First time to have my eyes examined at Poway Eyeworks. Not very impressed with the opticians ability to administer some of the tests and reliability of the equipment. Walked in from Dentist office next door. They took me on the spot. You fill out your own paperwork online at the counter.(different?) Everything went smoothly and the actual Dr. Did most of the exam. I had an eye infection and she addressed that and gave me a prescription for my pharmacy. Very modern and up to date equipment. Clean and attractive office! My husband goes there today,I recommended him and that is saying alot. Did not buy glasses, as I got new ones last year. Prices are designer high to match the new, modern decor! Gloria is amazing! I came in yesterday with my 1 year old and Gloria was extremely attentive to my needs. Her service was above an beyond. I asked for a quote to update the prescription in my sunglasses and she provided various options. She also fixed and cleaned my sunglasses and had me in and out quickly. I needed to use up my excess Flexible Spending Account money by Sunday. The staff at Poway Eyeworks was very helpful and I was able to get an appointment on the same day. They even take VSP! Poway Eyeworks has a fantastic selection of frames, even my favorite brand-Chanel. I have looked all over SD county for nice Chanel frames and this shop has the newest styles. Horrible customer service will not go there again and will not recommend family or friends. I ordered Tiffany frames there paid some by cash and the rest my insurance covered I have high prescription when I got my glasses back the lens were so thick and to remind you I had paid extra for the thin lens. I never had this problem before where you can see the thickness of my lens. So I ask them to send them back because this is what I did not order they said because of your insurance they gave there own lab that's how they come out. I said I ordered my eyeglasses here before and that I have now from you guys a couple of years ago and you can't see the thickness of the lens the manager said because We have our own lab we send to. So I said OK can I send my glasses there I'll pay extra and they said no but I would have to pay $800 and something dollars Remind you after I just paid out of pocket $400 and something. They were no help at all they should let their customers know they have high prescription if they order lenses from their insurance they might not come back thin like they want them to. read more

I am so sorry that I got deceived by all the five star reviews. I would never ever recommend this place. If you want to go to a glasses shop where the employees are kind, helpful and appreciative for your choosing them FIND A DIFFERENT PLACE. When I was looking for frames, all of them were locked inside the display case, limiting my ability to try on frames as I wished. So, the lady had to unlock the showcases every time I needed to try on a frame. By the time I asked to try on a second pair, the lady who "helped" me (her name started with a K) apparently got really tired and bored of us, and rolled her eyes at me to another coworker. (Of course I didn't catch it because I was busy looking at frames but my kid caught it.) Anyway, both my husband and I chose a frame and ordered a pair of glasses. We were halfway home when she called me because she had forgotten to take our prescriptions, so we had to go back. When we enter the second time, there's no "hi" or "sorry" or "thank you" from her. So another lady had to come to us and she made the copies, and then we left. Of course, there was no "goodbye". Later, we found out that there was defect on my husband's frame. So we went back to have it fixed. When we showed her, she first told us that she didn't see that there was anything wrong with them. In the end, she couldn't deny it, but couldn't even get the lenses out, and had it sent back to the lab. So, the whole process took more than three weeks. Also, my vision with the new glasses is still not perfectly clear, and they need a little bit of adjustment, I will not go back here. read more

I have been coming to Poway Eyeworks for about ten years. The staff is friendly and professional. The equipment as far as I can tell is state of the art providing great information for preventative care and diagnosis of existing issues. I also appreciate the selection of fine frames from tony designers and more affordable ones as well. I complained about the music on YELP a few years ago as it was annoying and geared towards specific audiences of which I am not a member. The music was changed to something all can abide by. The optomestrist (I can't remember her name) was very friendly and ever so patient. My prior experiences with optometrists have never gone so smoothly. I either ended up feeling very rushed during the eye test or would get the impression that the eye doctor hated their job. My exam at Poway Eyeworks was unrushed and I felt like the doctor really wanted to be sure I was getting the best prescription. The other great "feature" was the follow up appointment to make sure the contact lens prescription was working out. I actually have had times where I would get contacts from an optometrist only to find out that the prescription seemed off the next day - probaby due to the doctor rushing through the exam. Joseph helped me when I first arrived and also helped me choose a frame for my glasses. He is the most professional and helpful person I have ever met at any kind of office. He really knows what he is talking about when it comes to the best shape and style of frame. I don't know how many times I have been to an optometrist where I have just been left to wonder around to pick out my own frames, but then feel pressured to hurry up and make a decision. I just picked up my glasses today and this the first time I didn't question if I went with the right frames or not - they look great!. I definitely stick with Poway Eyeworks. read more

My glasses were getting old and falling apart so I looked on Yelp to find a reputable optometrist in the area. I try to stay away from Costco/Lenscrafters/Walmart because those corporate chains are the number one reason for driving out the "Mom and Pop" optometry practices. And besides, the other practices' (corporate chains) main goal is to get you in and out as quickly as possible. With the Yelp deal, the price for getting your eye prescription is pretty comparable to walmart/costco/lenscrafters. This place offers a $50 eye exam (glasses) for $75 dollars. Other independent places, from what i've seen, cost around $75-90 per exam. Dr. Sinn is very knowledgeable and very friendly. She exudes confidence and you can really tell she means it when she says she loves what she does. She doesn't push you to get any additional services and tells you her honest opinion. As for the glasses, they are a bit pricey. But considering I get new glasses every 2 years or so, it's an investment for me that makes sense. If you're the type that needs new glasses every year or 6 months, it might get a little overwhelming with the costs (if you don't have eye insurance like me). Their frame selection is pretty average with most optometry practices. Not enormous but not small either. They also give you a 20% discount if you are a AAA member too! read more

I always have bad experience when it comes to finding a optometry that is worth the drive. I live in Los Angeles, and decided to come to this facility because how a friend who lives there raves about how great it is. Came here a few days ago to get my eyes checked. As always... Its kind of nerve racking... Not knowing how bad my eyes gotten. People were super friendly and informative. My doctor was very patient with my very indecisive mind! She is one doctor I would always go back to! She made my experience worth the 2 hour drive! She gave out a very heart warming welcome. And even though I wasn't sure if vision 1 or 2 was more clear, she gave me my time instead of rushing me. The store is a very small area and it's right in the shopping plaza with Target (it's to the left of Foot Locker). But it was not cramped to where I feel like I'm touching another person's space. Prices? I would say it is quite expensive, but what do you expect....if you're looking for brand names like Channel, Bebe, or Tori Burch... Its a given that prices can cost an arm and leg! read more

I came here for an exam after I had waited too long for an eye exam and new prescription, and my vision was definitely worse than my prescription was handling. John helped me out with most everything that the doctor didn't do, and it was awesome. John is highly passionate about what he does, and I just love interacting with those kind of people, no matter where the business is or what they do. Especially in a customer service role, you as the customer are guaranteed a really good experience. I did not have any clue of what I wanted in frames, and have been wearing plastic frames for the last 8 years or so. They have a lot of cases, and I was not sure where to look first. John noticed my last frames were by SALT Optics, so he pulled out one from that case. I tried on a lot of pairs, but the FIRST pair he got out were the ones I ended up falling totally in love with! He also made my day by telling me he could fix my very bent, but very expensive Kate Spade sunglass frames that my 3-year-old daughter got a hold of too many times. They were at the time unusable, sliding off of my face if I even slightly tilted my head down. My regular glasses came in within a week, but the sunglasses (I ordered new Rx lenses) took more time than I expected because the lab they sent them to sent the lenses back with a flaw. I am glad they caught it and don't mind it took longer. I am really satisfied with everything and can only recommend it! John has equipment that he uses to re-shape frames that are bent - come here if you want him to make them look like nothing ever happened! read more

I Walked in on a Saturday morning to see if any eye technician could help replace my son's lenses on brand new frames. We have never been there before. Liz kindly asked a few questions and was able to help me so fast!!! She personally replaced the lenses out in about 10 minutes and was so sweet to not charge me. Like I said previously I have been coming here for a few years and I absolutely love working with Gloria she is always so helpful and very informative on the insurance and helping me pick Frames/Contacts. Although the last few times I have been in I have had someone else help me and she always seems to have a attitude with me. Today I went in to pick up my contacts and she was very short with me and seemed to have an attitude when I wanted to update my insurance as she told me I already have that one on file. Appointment scheduling. They were able to schedule us right way. Open on Saturdays !! Yey ! Eyeglasses/Sun glasses. Quite limited brands & styles , styles per brand to choose from. Choices were nice though. 2nd pair of glasses was 30% OFF !! Yey !! (Huge savings !! ) Nice store and location. Friendly,patient and helpful staff. Took me a long time to choose but lady was so patient and helped me choose. Turn around time was fast - within 10 days our glasses was ready for fitting & pick up. Craftsmanship was good. Optometrist did not tell me that i have a ptyeridium :( . I didn't know as well . After 3 days from our eye exam i noticed a white thing in my eye.. Called them and they told me to see an opthalmologist, right away (they sounded urgent). Opthalmologist told me that i had ptyeridium. When i got my glasses, wanted to talk to the optometrist but he/she was not there. According to the staff, based on Dr.'s notes he/she did note a ptyeridium ( i didn't see the note) . My disappointment was he/she did not tell me. (Maybe he/she assumed that i know it already and because Drs say its common thus did not bother mentioning it or asking when i got it etc etc). (NOTE: in the records that i filled up prior to the exam - i did not wrote anything about ptyeridium- since i didnt know i have one. ) read more

I brought my 78 year old mother in to have her glasses tightened and she went out of her way to not only tighten but adjust and gave her some new nose pads to keep her glasses from falling down her nose. The staff are friendly but I have yet to receive my glasses (already paid for) and it's been a month. They said it's the lab that's taking long and can't give me a time estimate of delivery. Still waiting and wish I had gone to another place. This is ridiculous when other places seem to take at most 2 weeks, even with Covid delivery problems. Asked for cancel or I was told insurance was already charged so I have to wait indefinitely. Who does business like this? read more

Poway Eyeworks is the most fraudulent opticians that exist in San Diego Area. Any other optician, you would go and pay for the glasses/service and receive the product along with a receipt. With these guys, you have to go through hoops. They do not give you the prescription right away as they don't want you to buy ur glasses anywhere else. secondly they do not provide an itemized receipt for what you buy, most likely cos they do not sell legitimate stuff and are afraid that the customers will find out the truth. Thirdly, their manager Gloria has no customer service experience and indulges in irresponsible talk to delay providing the merchandise and receipts. read more

I can not recommend Poway Eyeworks to anyone due to their kickbacks they receive from the products they prescribe. I brought my son into have his eyes examined and to have a new prescription provided for his contact lens. I told them that I wanted to continue to get his contacts at Costco. However, they provided a prescription to Alcon Dailies. I asked them to change it to Costco and was told "Unfortunately, the doctor cannot modify the contact lens prescription to Costco brand. Costco will be able to make those modifications to what they provide." Which will required him to have his eyes examined by Costco. So now I have to pay Costco to examine his eyes again. Resulting in doubling the amount for an eye examine. I called them and asked why they could not prescribe the Costco brand and was told that they only prescribe Alcon products and that I would have to have Costco perform an eye exam to get the Costco contacts that I wanted. Oh, by the way the Alcon Dailies product costs almost $80.00 more for the same quantity of contact lens as the Costco product. read more

Very solid staff and doctor. All very friendly and helpful. No selling, just happy to help. The exam was very thorough and informative yet didn't take 60 minutes trying to sell me on every product and test under the sun. Comparative prices versus everywhere else. If you have insurance, pricing will always be about the sane, but if not definitively shop around and compare. You can just walk in which is nice, but to ensure a time and no wait an appointment is the way to go. I really enjoyed this place and will go back for sure. read more
