The ambience was perfect with the string lights and white noise of others creating memories just as my sweet sister and I were. The service was superb! Found this gem in yelp as I'm working in the phoenix area and have an appt in the close by town of Gilbert! Gilbert is a bit of a challenge where there are "welcome to Gilbert" signs everywhere yet every empty parking spot was designated 2-15 mins parking. Where do those of us that need 30 mins land? Y Upon entry, I told the hostess I was in a hurry as I have an appt in 30 minutes (10 mins down the road). No one came, no one came and I could tell they were not busy. I walked inside after waiting only about 4 - 6 minutes to see if it would be faster to get service inside as I was getting antsy. Victoria reassured me she would take good care of me if I wanted to sit outside, so I went back to my table with Victoria on my heels. She really saved my visit, made me feel special and wanted!!! She paid such fabulous attention that I will be asking for her on my next visit! I ordered the raspberry chicken salad, it was fabulous. Somehow I missed that there's bread on the plate, so Victoria offered me a fresh clean lunch, completely remade since I'm allergic to wheat. JR, one of the managers brought it out. Postinos is an awesome place we regularly visit for some great food, good wine, nice servers, and great ambiance. We are addicted to their Board and Bottle nights and love the bruchetta creations. Sweet and savory combinations of this dish makes it a great meal for a sharing delight. Top it off with a bottle of good wine and you have a perfect date night meal. The place is a bit loud inside since it does have lots of seating that does fill up. Outside though is where we like it. Plenty of refreshing outdoor seating on the nice nights during the perfect Arizona months. We have brought the Doggo on the dog friendly patio and he loves the place also. Service has always been great. Attentive and quick both at tables and at the bar. One word of caution though, check your bill. When we go in for the special board and bottle deal on Mon and Tues, we have been duped a couple of times into paying a tip percentage based off the every day pricing of the meal and wine. Maybe some think that's ok but when you're purposely going in for the discounted special price, we expect to pay a tip on the total cost not the higher evey day pricing. Not to mention I'm old school and the service and food better be good to earn a tip. Expecting 20+% tip on the normal pricing for the deal defeats the purpose of it being an attraction for the restaurant. That being said a great place for a date night, a doggie outing, or a good time with friends. read more

Normally I would recommend you use the waitlist so you actually get into this place! They had a little slower time between lunch and dinner and our large group snuck in there for some apps and wine happy hour! We sat outside on the patio in one of the circle booths. It was in April so the trees were seeding and the flowers were falling into our stuff! Hahah. It was pretty and annoying but we toughed it out. My sister lives here and had eaten at Postino a few times. I got her out of her comfort zone and we tried some things she hadn't before... we definitely found some favs! There was a happy hour for glasses of wine and pitchers of beer. Our group took advantage of the specials! Everyone was indecisive on food though, so I took charge and ordered a bunch of appetizers for our group. Sweet potato wedges- I love sweet potato fries and had never had them as wedges! They were tasty and crispy outside an soft inside. The dipping sauce was a spicy tahini (few of my aunts thought it was pretty spicy and they couldn't handle it). I liked the heat with my glass of wine. Cheese plate - this was a nice size serving and they gave an assortment of cheese, apple, bread and crackers to make your own little snack. My sister and I enjoyed this more than the others. It was fun trying different combinations. Crispy cauliflower- We got the head of cauliflower... I feel like cauliflower is the "new" Brussel sprout... I will order them at every restaurant! This was not our favorite. I think because the same sauce was on the sweet potato wedges, so it felt one note. I would chose the sweet potatoes over this one. Bruschetta board- we got multiple of these and it was because they were amazing! Favorites: Smoked salmon/pesto, piquillo pepper/goat cheese, pepper jam/goat cheese (We also tried the Caprese, warm artichoke spread, brie/apple/fig spread - they were also good, but we had our favs we fought over. I can easily say Postino's is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Arizona. I've been to two of their Scottsdale branches over the past few years and today, I tried their Downtown Gilbert branch which, just like the other two branches, gave us a wonderful experience. Service was top notch, food was delicious and the whole ambience was great. My sister is visiting from out of state and she was so pleased with everything too. It was an excellent choice for today's brunch. We went at around noon, joined the waitlist online and by the time we got to the restaurant, we were seated in about 5 minutes. We sat outside. They have a spacious outdoor area with turf and trees and heaters. We were served water as soon as we sat down and our order was taken a few minutes after that. The food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the bruschetta board to share and a half chicken and mozzarella sandwich each and their soup for today which was roasted cauliflower soup. We also ordered coffee. Everything was delicious, but the highlight of the day was the roasted cauliflower soup. I am not sure how they were able to make cauliflower taste so good. Both my sister and I are not big fans of cauliflower but they have managed to change us today! For everything, the bill came out to $50 and change. I cannot wait to return again! read more

This was a bright sunny day so my husband and I wanted to go somewhere to eat outside. We live right near downtown Gilbert and decided that lunch would be perfect at Postinos. When we arrived we immediately were sat. This was around 2PM on a Wednesday. Normally I see this place packed after 5PM. So, I'd keep that in mind. We were given the option to sit in door or out and we're seated in a shaded spot under an umbrella. It felt quaint, cozy, quiet and comfortable. They have normal chairs, but I found it to be more comfortable sitting on the bench with the padding. My husband had the OMG Grilled cheese! Which was described as a "layered gruyere, whipped brie, goat cheese, white cheddar, smoked bacon with a creamy tomato soup dip". The bread was served slightly burnt and there was A LOT of whipped brie on it. If you like brie an insane amount - get this! Otherwise, no way. The tomato soup "dip" was incredible. I could taste all the spices and rosemary perfectly. I got the bruschetta board. You get to pick 4 out of the options below: Brie, Apple & Fig Spread Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Prosciutto Di Parma, Fig & Mascarpone Warm Artichoke Spread Smoked Salmon & Pesto * Sweet N' Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese Burrata, Bacon, Arugula & Tomato Mexican Street Corn Ricotta, Dates & Pistachio Mushroom & Mascarpone Salami & Pesto Chef's Choice There are also gluten free options. The board is $17.50 and is a nice selection. I got the Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil, which had fresh basil (so important to me), a ripe tomato and great cheese. It was like caprese with bread, minus the balsamic vinaigrette. Next was the Sweet N' Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese and OMGGGGG SO GOOD!!!! I didn't think I'd like this one honestly and kind of just threw it in there in a panic (order anxiety is REAL). But it was to die for. Even now, sitting here full after eating, I am daydreaming about when I'll be able to come back and eat it again. The hotness of the spicy pepper jam paired with the cool goat cheese is just YUM! Next I had the smoked salmon and pesto. I am a HUGE pesto fan (and basil fan in general) and this pesto was lacking in flavor, which was strange because everything up to this was so flavorful. I didn't find the salmon to be incredibly fresh and could have done without this one. Lastly, I got the Brie, Apple and fig spread. The Brie was whipped, which I don't prefer. I'd rather just a piece of Brie. The fig jam was delicious and the apple was fresh and crisp. I also got a Rainbow sour beer on tap. It was happy hour and they give you a pitcher opposed to one glass for the same price as one glass, which I believe is $5. The server was friendly, fast and attentive. The food came out within 10 minutes and they kept up on refilling our water. All in all, I wish things were more cheesy. I feel like I was promised a lot of cheese but wasn't delivered it. All Postino locations have been one of my favorite places to hang, relax and munch. The last Postino's my friend and I went to was the Arcadia location, where we had the Bruschetta Board and the Beef Carpaccio. This past visit to the Gilbert location we opted for the Charcuterie Board which I thought it was the same as the old "Butcher Block Board" (why did they get rid of it?)... my bad for not reading the menu details. I'm assuming its all due to Covid restaurant profitability that they omitted it from the menu. Service has always been good at this location. The Bruschetta Board was as good as it has always been. The Chef's Charcuterie Board was a little disappointing only if you've already experience the Butcher Block Bord, but it was still good. Atmosphere: great place to hang, relax and munch. This visit was overall very delightful. Although I missed the cutoff for brunch (ends at 1pm), we were still sat within 20(ish) minutes and were able to sit in the shaded patio high-tops while perusing the drink menu. I *believe* if you wanted to head to the bar and grab a drink to bring out and wait, that would also be available for those who do not mind waiting or just can't wait to start their weekend off right with some tasteful wine! *LPT* join the waitlist online via their website! We ended up with infinitely full bellies and enough food for essentially another meal to take home. For starters, we chose the OMG Grilled Cheese, which includes goat cheese and bacon - EPICALLY paired with a hot tomato soup "dip" and house pickles (wow, so good!). My friend couldn't decide between the grilled cheese and meatballs with goat cheese so after we ordered, our host came back and told us she went ahead and put in the order for meatballs and comped it since he was so indecisive. Nothing tastes better than a random act of kindness like that! We were so glad to have the extra sauce from the meatballs as well since the soup dip was quickly devoured. Additionally, for a board, we chose the Warm Artichoke Spread, Almond Hummus, Smoked Salmon, and Seasonal (Tomato Jam + Goat Cheese). The warm artichoke spread was creamy and topped with lots of yummy chives. I loved the tomato jam and goat cheese pairing as well. We both thought the salmon one ended up being way too salty but that's just the nature of salmon lox I think! As for the almond hummus, I personally loved the presentation of this mountain of tomatoes and I can never get enough of that but it definitely took away from tasting the almond hummus at all. I will say that I was hesitating between giving a 4 and 5 star review for this visit because I had ordered the Brussels Sprouts salad (sub chicken for bacon) and there was still bacon in it. Additionally, there wasn't much of anything else in it besides the kale and chicken (cheese and almonds were light, with probably less than 10 leaves of brussels sprouts lol - strange). I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since I was already glad that she was able to make the substitution for the protein with a lesser charge for it instead of just adding a charge on top, but the overall taste of this salad was baby kale + VERY light drizzle of dressing. Though I did appreciate that the pre-tossed salad wasn't drowning in dressing since I forgot to ask for it on the side. For future visits I'll probably ask for it on the side if I opt to order salads again. However, since the hostess was so gladdened to offer a comped starter when she saw how distraught we were over choosing just one, it really made my day. This was also before we even got our food, so it was just a random act of kindness that literally made us so happy. I purchased $100 worth of Charcuterie yesterday and the portion for what I paid for was abysmal. The picture below is a $50 tray for just that measly amount of food. I could've purchased 3 normal portions instead of the family style version and I would've had double the amount. Also there was missing prosciutto from the tray which is arguably the most expensive part of the dish. I feel lied to and this is the most dishonest thing I've seen lately from any restaurant. Have been a big fan of Postino for more than a decade, but my recent experience may be my last. We dined in as a party of four and ordered four food items off the menu. Two of the four items were brought to the table and after waiting a while, we flagged down a manager who was able to bring one of the missing meals out. We had to flag down the manager again to ask about the second missing meal which was more than 20 minutes after the food was initially delivered to our table. We asked for the last meal to be cancelled or brought out in a to go container as we had finished eating while waiting. The food was brought out on a plate. They comped only the cheapest item we ordered and not the second missing item which we asked to cancel anyways.
