In town for a short visit with my husband and son. We found this place about a mile down the road from our hotel. We love diners so we decided to give it a try. Instantly fell in love with the place. The decor is awesome and the staff is incredibly friendly. And the food is top notch. Absolutely delicious. We loved it so much we came back the next day for breakfast and dinner. Stopped in here while traveling down I95 to have dinner with my husband and two kids. We ordered the surf and turf special, burger platter, and stuff off the kids' menu. For a diner, the steak was delicious and cooked just right. The seafood tasted fresh and well seasoned. My husband was raving about his burger and the kids were happy with their food. Good food, would definitely come back. I don't think it's as good as other diners I've been to in CT but there was nothing "wrong" with it -- it just wasn't anything special. Service was pretty good (& the food was really quick) but I think our waitress was having an off night or something because she was muttering under her breath when I ordered ice water. Meanwhile she hadn't even taken our order yet and I got an entree, side and dessert so I was hardly being a cheap customer. So I'm not sure what she was upset about. Worst service ever asked for cheese fries with my sandwich they brought fries with a soup of orange fake canned cheese. I told them just bring me regular fries with no cheese 20 minutes later she brings bill (no fries) said she took fries off and gave us a discount, all she really did was deduct fries and charge us for sodas we never had and manager felt the need to come over and argue with us, should have known this place sucked when their was other irate customers arguing with staff one of them saying GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE BEFORE HE STORMED OUT THE DOOR, food sucked ontop of all the other drama would recomend this dump to a dog read more

Multiple times things that I pay extra for are not included, special notes you make are disregarded ( be careful if you are allegorical to things), and you get less for example I got one piece of steak for my salad, when it clearly shows on their menu pic there's more than one which makes the salad pricey. I think we were there at the wrong time ... Stopped for a late dinner on a Saturday night on a trip to visit family in RI. We love to visit local dimers bkth for the menu choices and price. Post Road Dimer is definitely a local place. It was busy but not filled when we got there, but quickly filled with shoppers, a large group of friends and several tables of young people hanging out with friends. It was very loud in our area because of the crowd. After 15 minutes of waiting, I had to tell the manager that we had not been waited on. Several other tabled that came in after is already had drinks and shakes and food. The food we ordered was not specialized in any way, but came out looking like an afterthought. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon that looked like it might have dropped off the plate before it got to me. My sons gyro lfilled the plate but didn't have very much meat on it. Daughter's french dip was plentiful, but not very appealing to look at. Husband's eggplant parmesan grinder was the best made for the money, although there was almost too much cheese. Our server was caring and semi-attentive, but the pla E was overrun with late night dimers and, like I said, we were just lost in the mix. We spent over $40 for 4 to eat, which is steep in my experience. Probably won't be back. Will try another dimer in the area next time. read more

My boyfriend and I once went on a mission to find the best diner in the area and this one for sure takes the cake! Huge menu, great food, extremely convenient hours, and awesome service. PRD offers classic diner food with old school diner decor. The place is really clean and I've never had to wait for a table. Not many places in Norwalk/Darien are open 24 hours so PRD is a great spot to get food at any time of the day. I've probably been here over 50 times and at all hours of the night, too. They've always been able to deliver quick service and good food that's well priced. Parking isn't a problem- if their lot is full go behind the diner, it's a huge lot and will be easier to get in/out of anyway. I can't think of any place in Norwalk/Darien that works better for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea/shakes with friends or by yourself. PRD is a real asset. read more
