I have been here a couple times and always leaving wondering why this place is so beloved. Pizza is ok but nothing i would go out of the way for. And i certainly wouldnt proclaim it the best of the county as the banner outside proclaimed. The $8.95 caprese salad was just 4 mounds thinly sliced pizza toppings. I ordered the special $15.95 ravioli dish of the night. Which was supposedly stuffed with artichoke hearts, roasted peppers and ricotta. It didnt look or taste any different than the kid's cheese ravioli i got for my daughter. My wife's linguine with white clam sauce was just average too. Went to this restaurant for my friends 50th surprise birthday party. We had a party of about 40 people, nevertheless, this was the first time I have ever been here. I can't say enough great things about this establishment!! Everything from soup to nuts was over the top. There food was unexpectedly some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Haven't gone in years and decided to try them. Had pizza delivery one night and it arrived hot and ready to eat. Did pizza via pick-up again over the weekend and was delicious. They have a thicker crust so you know you are eating a pizza. Sauce is tastey with garlic flavor. It was ready when they said it would be and I was in and out. Good thing, it was standing room only. The BEST vodka sauce I have ever tasted in my 24 years of life. I am a former employee but in no way does that affect this review. The owners are very helpful and a caring family. The Nutella Calzone is something that will definitely satisfy that sweet tooth and almost every entree and app is worth trying Steve jr stuffed rigatoni is delicious. Brothers chicken penne breaded chicken cutlet with penne in THE WORLDS BEST VODKA SAUCE topped with fresh mozzarella, I also add shrimp but it can get expensive. My only complaint is the pizza, it barley makes the cut for top 3 places to get a pie in Wayne and heating it up (leftovers) makes it worse on the other hand, the actual entrees and apps are delicious and mostly are tremendous reheated (obviously not fried calamari or the shellfish) If you are looking to cater this is the place to get from. Fair pricing on the trays and 1/2 trays and again the food is epic I just prefer pizza from other locations. Ask for Joe he is very professional and will accommodate your every need be it a party a catering order or just looking to make a reservation. 5 stars easy... Truly a dining experience not just a night where you go out to eat and forget... I can guarantee that if it is your first time there you will be back and telling your friends... If you don't like the pizza then you obviously think dominos is high quality. The cannoli sundae is also fantastic! I was really excited to try this place because of the ratings and well, we're in Northern New Jersey. They told us to pick up the food in 20 minutes, we got there in 15. It's was already there and waiting for us when we arrived (definitely would've gotten there in 10 mins if knew our meal would end up like this). We drove our 20 min ride home with our food in the trunk, completely unaffected by air conditioning. Got home, opened up everything right away because dinner was very late tonight, and the disappointment began. We ordered bruschetta that came with mozzarella on it, not my traditional way of eating it but it's cool, it wasn't bad but there wasn't anything going on with it; no flavor, no vinegar and oil, just blah. Chicken franchese was one of the entrees, along with veal parmigiana. Chicken was dry. Edible, but dry. Not exactly how you want chicken. We enjoy a extremely lemony franchese and we totally understand that some people don't, but it could've been a tab bit more lemony. Then the biggest let down of all, my veal parmigiana. I could only eat one bite. The veal was just wrong tasting. It wasn't as smooth and really tasted and felt like a cheap overcooked steak. The red sauce was not at all enjoyable, very thick and chunky, not in a good way, and the pasta looked completely dried out. So my $50 meal was a major let down. The only meal that was eaten was the franchese because my husband was starving and it was somewhat edible. We got a free cannoli from the deal on seamless, which I haven't tried yet, and I also ordered a tiramisu, which I also haven't tried. But I don't see there being a problem with them (I really, really hope!). I hope this was only a take out issue and that eating in is a much better experience but I will never eat at this restaurant again and I lost out on whatever my order comes out to minus the desserts and the franchese. As a frequent visitor to the Wayne area, I have been taken in by Positano terrific eggplant, sandwich or parmigiano meal. Both generous portions and tasty. Cut thin, lightly breaded, right amount of sauce, good Italian bread. A treat for lunch, dinner or in between. Plus Nana's home made chicken soup is a winner!! I look forward to another pitstop for some of my favorite Italian foods whenever in the area. Positano is consistently good. Their baked zitti has been a favorite of mine for years. I recommend asking them to make it a little on the well done side if you get it delivered, but in the restaurant it is always cooked to perfection. Another favorite is their warm chicken caesar salad. I also love their garlic knots which come with your meal. The restaurant is cozy and the staff is very friendly. The owners are always welcoming and are truly passionate about their business. The chicken francese is not their best, however so I'd order something else if torn between two options. read more

The trifecta of Wayne: Positano's, Vinni's, and Anthony Franco's-- three competing pizzerias all located within a half mile radius of each other. I want to start off by saying that Positano's has the best plain cheese pizza out of the three-- the perfect combination of cheese and sauce with a fresh crust (never had a stale crust). The owners Joe and Steve Jr. seem to run a pretty tight ship; that always looks good in a business perspective. Although I do prefer Vinni's as the classic pizzeria location, Positano's gives you the perfect combination of restaurant and pizzeria, while AF is more of a modern pizzeria with a hint of restaurant feel (if that even makes sense lol). The pasta at Positano's is great: big portions and reasonably priced compared to more "upscale" Italian restaurants, but the quality is rather the same which is good for them. I've heard good and bad things about other entrees and I'm going to assume it is based on their preference, but I digress. Delivery service is pretty prominent but I advise customers to pick up instead because they can get really backed up easily, especially on weekends-- sometimes food can come a little cold and take about an hour, but it is at no fault of their own; just keep this in mind if you're looking to order for delivery. Otherwise, no complaints, the Catalano's know what they're doing and I'm sure if there ever was an issue, they'd address it pretty quickly. read more

No wait, manager/ owner may have told a few in the past to "take it elsewhere," but they probably were the pretentious entitled ones we've run across,so I wouldn't put much thought into they're comments. Everything in the menu looked great! My boyfriend and I went there on a Sunday and had an amazing experience. We were both extremely satisfied with what we ordered, including the appetizer! The Best Burger in Wayne! Maybe the best hamburger in NJ. I went to Positano for lunch and ordered the cheeseburger special. It was cooked exactly as it should be. The owner was kind enough to ask me what my opinion was of the burger. It's nice to know that he cares enough about his food to ask. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great place to have lunch or for anyone who is looking for the best burger around. All I have to say is amazing. The best dish I've ever had there and I'm a complete Positano fan. Why?? The food is always always consistent. You know what you're expecting and you always get it. However it's soft shell Crab season and you definitely have to try. Had them at another restaurant last night (not mentioned any names) and there was no comparison I couldn't even eat them and the dish was $36.95. Ugh!!. Steve's from positano melted in my mouth and was cheaper and worth every bite. Need to try...excellent!!! read more
