So, it was my husband's birthday, and I wanted to take him to a great Italian restaurant, And so my sister, my niece my husband, and I went to Park Side in Corona, Queens. When we arrived, they showed us to a nice table and we all sat down. Placed in front of us was a little charcuterie plate. There were slices of sweet sausage, bruschetta and chunks of aged parmigiano. The waiter, armed us with an exemplary bread basket, The prosciutto bread was especially wonderful and sesame breadsticks and the Italian bread and the rolls.! Sigh! Everything was fresh and delicious. However, the food,! As the tears flow down my face, while I am writing, my dish was worse than mediocre. I was taken aback! My sister and my niece both ordered linguine with seafood, I ordered a mushroom truffle linguine in what I thought was going to be a mushroom sauce. My husband ordered a veal Milianes. The first thing I noticed was not one of us got linguine, even though we asked for it. Looking down at our plates was spaghetti instead. I called the waiter over pointed to my pasta and said "we all ordered linguine."The waiter looked down at our plates and said " it is linguine!" I think he must have left his glasses home as what surely not linguine. Park Side pasta sauces on seafood were almost as tasteless as my mushroom with truffle (what truffle?). I believe they forgot the truffle. I have very discriminating taste and since truffle is such a strong flavor, I would have noticed. My husband.'s veal chop was nothing special. In fact, it was almost without flavor. We did not stay for any dessert since the Lemon Ice King of Corona was a block away. My sister and niece, never tried them and so we went. It was fun and refreshing. Turned out we all had a mildly pleasant evening. Hubby enjoyed his birthday! But, don't think I'm going to go back to Park Side even though the seating is somewhat comfortable. The lighting is good. The quasi appetizer was lovely and it is pretty accessible. The bathroom is through the kitchen, which is a little difficult however doable. And I think as a New Yorker, that a restaurant with valet parking is magical! I can only hope that they will hire the chef that I experienced five years ago!

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

Manager Beatrice is truly a gem -- very attentive, super sweet, and made my family feel so welcome. The atmosphere was warm, family-oriented, and comfortable. The prix fixe menu was excellent from beginning to end. For appetizers, my mom had the burrata with heirloom tomatoes, and my sister and I had Nonna's meatballs, which were delicious. My sister had the rigatoni, my mom had the salmon, and I had the short rib of beef, which melted in my mouth like butter -- that's how tender the meat was. For dessert, I had the cannoli's while my mom and sister enjoyed the chocolate lava cake. Everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, which is always a plus. My family and I will definitely be coming back again -- even if it's just to stop in for a lychee martini and the grilled octopus, one of my favorite meals. Highly recommend for a family dinner, date night, or casual night out

Our server was very pleasant and happened to be the only one working at the time, though with so few guests, it seemed to be all that was needed. We ordered the three-course lunch special. One set included the meatballs to start, followed by the chicken Parmesan and bomboloni for dessert. The other included a Caesar salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and tiramisu. There was a bit of a longer-than-expected gap between the appetizer and the entrée, especially considering we were essentially the only table being served, as the other guests had already finished their meal. That was a little frustrating. Aside from that, most of the food was solid. The only real disappointment was the chicken Parmesan, which was quite overcooked. It was unfortunate given that the kitchen was only cooking for the two of us. That said, the mashed potatoes, an unusual pairing with chicken Parmesan were excellent: perfectly creamy and incredibly smooth. The tiramisu was also quite good, but the real standout was the bomboloni. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed them, since fried doughnuts wouldn't normally be my first choice for dessert. I would definitely return.

It immediately gave me that cozy, old school neighborhood Italian restaurant feel, almost like the set of Cheers. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and packed with people. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle and the Grilled Lamb Chops, and both were a 10/10. The pasta was rich and flavorful, and the lamb chops were cooked perfectly. Even my brother, who's a very picky eater, thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The food smelled so incredible on the drive home that I was honestly tempted to pull over and eat it in the car. For takeout, you exit the main entrance and walk around the corner to the back of the building, where they have a separate area serving pizza and other quick bites. When I arrived around 5:30 p.m., the restaurant was bustling, and the takeout counter was lined with orders waiting to be picked up. They also offer outdoor dining. While I was waiting, I noticed the portions being served to diners at the bar, and they definitely don't skimp. The servings are generous, which makes the value even better. It's easy to see why this place is such a neighborhood favorite. Great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be making the drive from Brooklyn again.
