Okay! Props to my boyfriend for finding this salon while I was in town. I almost never betray my nail lady in NYC but I was in desperate need and I've been 3 times over the last 2 months lol at least twice a visit while I'm in town.... They are just that great! so welcoming and friendly. I love how clean the place is and they always do a great job. Alex has been the one taking care of me on my visits and he is FIRE! Prices are very fair. Service has been top notch They have tons of polishes to choose from and their polishes and dips are clearly displayed with a fresh coat of shiny polish... I mean a dream! HORRIBLE. I'm getting engaged and finally caved and got them done ... going to have to go somewhere else to get this mess fixed. The man at the front desk should not be doing nails. He used the nail tools on himself while my nails dried, and didn't clean mine before use. Put the skins from my nails into the water my fingers were soaking in.... Called to see if they had space for me today -- got a time 30 min after. Good on that aspect. Got in and told him I wanted regular polish - told me it wasn't good and my polish would come off fast. Told him it's ok & I want regular. Kept putting the gel thing in front of me. Made me feel bad for wanting regular. Made me bleed on THREE different fingers. Told me I couldn't do a coffin shape on short nails - just CUT the nail straight off even though I've been growing them out to get this done... they're all jagged and so sharp on the sides Used a primer that strung itself across to each nail, then switched after the fourth one - but DIDNT take it off the ones he already did. Then when I pointed out it was bubbly he took one of the 4 off and didn't put any primer on it? While the others had one kind then the rest had the normal - non sticky one He also just decided not to paint the sides of some of my nails. I have gone here several times and have always been satisfied. I recently referred a friend she was very satisfied the first time, but the third time she had a horrible experience. I was completely humiliated in front of customers about "how messed up & disgusting my hands were" I have hyperhydrosis and have since I was born, I have also been getting my nails done since I was 15. Never once have I been met with such cruel hatred by another person because of my hands being a little sweaty. Leon told me that something was wrong with me and I was disgusting and not normal, verbatim his words. I was shaking and did not know how to react to the situation. I went in for a gel mani and regular pedi! The pedicure was awesome.. the manicure was awful! I picked out a color and when she was about to paint my nails with it, it looked old and clumpy! She continued to paint my nails and when she was done the clear coat was all over my cuticles and when I went to move it off, the whole nail polish peeled off my nails. It was messy and wasn't staying. I went back to get it fixed and I had to pick a new color. The same thing happened where the nail polish was all over my nails and was peeling. I won't be coming back. Very disappointed that I wasted money here. read more

I received a pedicure and my technician was Lee. Poor Lee. I was a clumsy customer. He was so patient and I am surprised he didn't drown me. Yes I was sober but was having a great birthay and was hyper. After hitting my toe on the chair and almost clearing off his work tray, Lee went to work. After looking at my cellphone to check in at Posh and birthday wishes, I put my phone down to mess up the massage chair and PLOOP!! My phone fell in the water. (after I said the F word as loud as I could) Lee grabbed my phone and wrapped it up. Took off the cover to dry it also he went back to trimming and treating my garden feet and they felt so slimy smooth I swished my feet in the water and caused a tidal wave and water went everywhere. from then on, I sat still and and he treated my feet like gold Lee was awesome and didn't hurt and was considerate. He kept asking if that hurt and I just told him to "scrub the shit out of my nasty feet". That sent some giggles throu the shop. Thank you Lee and Posh Nails. read more

This place or at least Leon is horrible! Made my daughter an appointment 2 days prior. Walked her in and immediately we felt rushed by Leon. (We were 5 minutes early too!) I told him she needed two repairs and the length taken down. (Her nail lady just had a baby so I tried to find a closer salon) I had to leave to pick up my other daughter and said would be back. He said "be back in 30 min". Which I thought wasn't long enough and worried. My daughter texted me saying she was done 25 min later. She paid and went next door. She picked out and paid for a pale pink gel. He didn't use a gel he got another regular polish, wrong color, didn't apply clear coat prior to, and set her under the lights. She knew it was wrong but didn't want to say anything. Her nails are short, square, and fat now. I will attach a picture from her previous set (this pic is not from today it is from when they were first done) and a picture of today's nails. Oh and she asked for a design on one and he said " it would be extra and couldn't do it". Thankfully he didn't try but it was just a simple lightening bolt. By far most unprofessional nail shop i have been to so far, i asked for a french set and the owner Steve did and overlay with pink acrylic instead of clear so my white tips looked so yellow and hideous. He told me three different times they would "turn white" within a hour, a fee days , then a week lol! So crazy. He then said i asked for pink acrylic in which i didn't. So un professional i will not be back. I been a few times in the past and had worse experiences thinking it would get better while still tipping well. So sad. Leon did my nails today. He cut me badly with the motorized tool and blamed me for waiting too long for my fill. When I told him my color choice and he started painting my nails, I told him I didn't like t as it was purple not pink. His response was " YOU picked it". Luckily I had taken a picture of the swatch. I showed it to him. He said the swathes are old. Then he said he wouldn't charge me since he had cut my finger so badly. When I got ready to leave he said he was going to charge me $30.00. Came in and asked for a polish change and one nail containing diamonds, I told the nail tech before hand and after sitting down.... he ignored my request and sent me over to get my feet polished as the lady was painting My toes, she said I needed to get a pedicure, I stated to her I just had a pedicure from here two weeks ago and she was on mute afterwards. Next I explained to the women who was doing my feet that I requested diamonds on my nails she then goes on to state I don't have the time maybe next time you can get them done after waiting 15 minutes to even get started on my nails.... very upsetting experience and this will be my last time coming here! read more

I originally came here for a pedicure and manicure however, the pedicure was so bad that I Immediately cancelled the manicure! Unfortunately since it was already started I couldn't exactly leave. The nail tech painted five coats of paint on my toes! It looked like caked on paint on a 100-year-old house that had been painted multiple times throughout the years! secondly, my toes are not cut straight! Lastly it took the nail tech 10 minutes just to put the slippers on over my painted toes! I am mortified beyond words! These people need to re-train their staff and possibly retrain themselves as a result! 1 star for the friendliness of the staff! Such a goofy little salon, but that's actually what I like about it and what keeps me coming back. Today was my second time at this salon and today my technician was Sonny. Super soft spoken, very gentle, neat and tidy work, and gives a nice relaxing massage. Got a gel manicure and super deluxe, long pedicure (the menu they give you is confusing) the $35 option, with a glass of pink wine and I was feeling good! I normally frequent Solar Nails in Westport but this place is right next to my tanning salon and there's never a wait. I can't really tell who all works here and what everyone's role is, but they all seem to like to laugh and everyone is always smiling. They're all very welcoming, just kind of awkward and a little odd. The first time I was here, a guy came in, sat down right next to me while I was getting my manicure and just ate nuts. Then my first technician kept trying to play matchmaker between his son and I. Very odd and not really professional, but truth be told, it all made me laugh and was something of a relief after the stuffy salons on the plaza.
