I had been searching for the best nail spot and one of my coworkers recommended Lovely Nails. Her nails looked perfect and I knew it was going to be a good recommendation! I have now been going for several months, always seeing Jenny, and she is fantastic! It's usually busy and Jenny's appointments fill up fast so I highly recommend and appointment. Everything is clean and it seems like each nail tech is great at design and understanding your needs. While I don't go with designs, I always have a color or style in mind and they execute so well! I feel like this spot has changed a lot recently. I have been coming to lovely nails since 2017 and I feel as though the Atmosphere has become less focused on quality and professionalism and more about who they can finish first. The staff are on their phones while doing nails (not answering important calls) and then use the same gloves to touch my feet and will walk over to another customer and touch their water basin to turn it on and their feet. (All these motions with the same gloves). Lately they have rude if you come in without an appointment even if it's not busy they still want you to have an appointment but say they accept walk ins. I have been noticing the lack of attention to detail as well. I came to get my dip removed and the lady was watching tv while using the electric nail file to file down my nails and kept missing due to watching the tv screen. I finally told her please look down when you are doing my nails. I really miss this spot being more welcoming and the quality being better and cleaner. I'm hopeful things turn around since this is a local spot. read more

I was given a price on my visit before this most recent visit of $30 for an acrylic fill with no repairs and regular, non-gel polish. But when it came time to pay the price had ballooned to $40 -- due to add-ons for length and shape that were not disclosed to me upfront. So this time I went in and was very specific to the tech. "I was quoted $30 for a fill. I don't want to pay any extras. I have regular polish here. What nail shapes can I have that are not extra?" The guy looked at me with open disdain and started speaking derisively about me to the tech next to him. It was quite insulting. He was patronizing and insulting though to the end. I will not go back to this place. Then one of my nails broke the next day because he had applied the acrylic so skimpily. Wow! You couldn't pay me enough to go back and "beg" for a free repair, which I most certainly am due. If you want to be treated poorly and like a mere dollar sign, go here. Not me. Never again. And, I guess they think that if they're speaking Vietnamese you don't know they're laughing about you. Really? !!!!! read more

The past couple times I have been it's been so rushed that when I get home, I realized spots were missing and without polish and there was nail polish on my skin. I had to go back after a manicure, and they redid a bunch of my fingers at no charge. But I still had to spend 45 minutes of my day getting them redone. Same thing happened with pedicure (see pictures!) but I just don't have the time to go back AGAIN and have them fix everything. I've been in love with this place for years. If you can't do designs or french tip, just tell us so we can choose something else rather than leave the salon wanting to cry. I came in to get my nails done, which i rarely do but it's my bday so why not treat myself. I wanted a french tip and a bow on 2 fingers. i left with the chunkiest french tip i've seen, and two red bows that truthfully a 2 year old could've drawn better. I'm so upset because for 1 im embarrassed to even show my hands in a Chipotle and 2 they're $70 so it really was just money down the drain. read more

I've been going to lovely nails for over a year now. Best nail salon in the entire world. I love everyone who works there, GREAT PEOPLE! The salon is clean, gorgeous, and I always feel comfortable. Amy does my nails/acrylics and John does my pedicures. AMAZING work EVERY SINGLE TIME! I make my appointments in advance to get in with them. I always get compliments on my nails....ALWAYS! Amy can do whatever you ask for and she's extremely creative and my favorite artist. Most of the time I have her pick out the design and she freestyles. I will NEVER go elsewhere. John is the best at pedicures and the sweetest person! I am truly obsessed with Amy and John. They are MY PEOPLE!!! I can't say enough good things about them and constantly refer them to my friends and family. I have seen Lee and Andy for acrylics previously and they both completely rock it!!! Very happy with my nails both times. I feel so welcomed every single time. Linda is the sweetest and always saying hello. Hannah is also always greeting me with a smile. I went for the first time last week. My usual spot was all booked and I needed my nails done that day. They were extremely busy so I was glad I got an appt bc they turned gals away in front of me. Deluxe pedicure included a hot stone massage. It all felt fine but felt like my technician was going as fast as humanly possible. My guess because they felt pressure to turn chairs over faster. Manicure was done by another technician and it was fine. Planning to continue to frequent my other regular place but sounded like plenty of regulars around me. read more

My son, his girlfriend and their friend went to this nail salon Dec 10th 2024. My son is Black American with locs and his girlfriend and friend are Caucasian. They were getting pedis when the cops showed up and pulled the young ladies to the side and questioned them about my son. They were asked if they knew him and were they with him. The cops said anything to my son. Apparently one of the employees called the cops. Lets stop spending our Black dollars at these chop shops. Find a Black Nail tech! This is unacceptable in 2024. read more

I've been going a long time, but sadly I stopped due to the fact that it always felt rushed, and I think that my regular person got too distracted as she began putting on 4-5 layers of gel each time making it harder to get it off. One time while doing a "special" design for someone, I had to wait 30 min after my appt time, and during those 30 min, I sat with my fingers in those tiny little things of acetone, and never said a word leaving them dry and shriveled. What used to be the best has left me finding another place to go!! They overbook and those regulars like me end up feeling like no one of any value at all - so good luck with keeping your regulars until you begin to keep them feeling as regulars. read more

WORST NAILS EVER!! Just look at them!! Let me preface this review with the fact that I've been getting my nails done since I was 9 years old and have been going here for just as long. I wanted a French manicure, I don't know what I got but it's not a French manicure. Starting off my mom and I made an appointment for Mother's Day. We booked two manicures and pedicures. They remembered our pedicures but only remembered my mother's manicure. I sat in a chair next to her for 45 minutes waiting for someone to do my nails... no one batted an eye. It wasn't until my mom asked if I am ever going to get my nails done that then the woman who was doing her manicure asked "oh she's supposed to be getting her nails done?" After admitting they forgot my appointment, they then tried to claim that "they were busy" when the place was virtually empty. The lady then rushed my nails. The nails are bubbled, uneven, sloppy, and wayyyyyy shorter than what I told her. They then charged me $100 for the ugliest nails I've ever had in my life! I have done my nails better using CVS press-ons! Sad to say my mom and I are officially done with this business and will be visiting nails techs from now on. If I'm spending at least $100, I'm going to be getting nails I'm proud to show off. read more

As much as I wanted this to be a good review because my 4 year old had a fun time, my nails came out HORRIBLE. all of them are unevenly shaped, have bubbles in them, residue left under and around my fingers, and over half are arent smooth on the top. It felt like I was getting them done by a student in training instead of a professional. I'm really disappointed by my experience. read more

I have been going to Lovely Nails for years. Lucy is my technician and I adore her. However, the owners have started nickel and diming the patrons. They have raised prices and are now charging a service fee on credit card charges. They no longer accept tips on credit cards. Instead they've installed a cash machine and ask that patron's Venmo their technicians tips. there has been a decline in the materials used during the client experience. It's disappointing. Time to find a new nail salon. read more

They got us in right when they opened without appointments which was great! The salon itself is very nice. However- my nail tech seemed a little inexperienced. Each of my nails are a different length and shape, a couple are pretty jagged and uneven lol. I asked her to fix a few to even them up and they got worse. I ended up telling her to stop, and went home and reshaped them myself. She never removed the dust from filing off of my hands before applying lotion and massing, so it turned into a weird paste. Strange experience for sure My friend's nails turned out wonderful- exactly what she asked! So I really think it depends on what nail tech you get. read more

I WON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE! I have been coming here for several months now and there are few places in KC where I can get such amazing service on a consistent basis. Stephanie did my manicure most recently and she made sure she got them EXACTLY how I wanted them. When I told her I wanted a rounded square shape to my nails, she gave the option of a flat tip or a rounded tip so she could give me the shape I envisioned. Then when she applied my gel polish she showed me how the color looked at the standard two coats and asked if I wanted a third coat which gave a slightly different color. Other places would have never asked me these questions and I would have been left to the mercy of the manicurist. And it's not just the manicures that rock. Their pedicures are amazing. Especially the VIP treatment with the paraffin wax. It leaves your feet so baby soft and beautiful especially after a harsh winter. But even if you just get the basic pedicure, they are sure to pamper you plenty with their awesome scrub and amazing massage technique. No ticklers here! I have also had my eyebrows done here on several occasions. As with every other service they offer, they approach waxing with same care and attention and have always left with picture perfect brows. As for their customer service, you can tell they do their very best to ensure you are taken care of. The entire salon is always neat and clean and all of their tools are either one time use or sanitized. Even on busy days, I have never had to wait too long before there was someone to take care of me and at least get my service started so I could enjoy a nice foot soak, chair massage, or get my old gel manicure removed. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional. I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and go here. Amazing service, amazing value. Can't go wrong! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. The people are nice enough but don't expect quality. For a $50 pedicure I would really expect them not to be clumpy. I had asked her 3 times to fix a mistake she made in the base coat, chunks happen - I get it, but fix it, especially when the client asks on 3 separate occasions. read more

My sister and I made an appointment and we were greeted and set up right away. The woman you did my pedicure was very attentive, precise, and efficient! The staff was very helpful at picking out a matching nail color and wasn't overly pushing on upgrades which I appreciated. The hole appointment only took an hour and the whole experience was so relaxing from the massage chairs, to hot towels, to hand massage at the end. Great pricing too, only $52 for a mani/pedi of great quality (won't have to worry about chipping or denying these beauties!). I would definitely recommend anyone to Lovely Nails for a lovely experience!! read more

I’ve been in the nail industry since 2003. I was working as a nail technician since 2003. I am licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, but have mostly worked in Kansas. I started my salon in 2013. My specialty is acrylic nails but not limited to other nail care services. I am currently spending most of my time managing the business, training staff with new nail care services, learning and exploring new things to bring in the best to my clients. Being said, I am still taking personal appointments if requested. I’d like to meet you and am open to any suggestions you might have!

Other stylists there run different prices if you want a cut at a lower price, and from what I have seen, they do great work as well. Can't go wrong!
