When I arrived, Emma offered me a choice of teas and we chatted while I filled out a brief skin related medical history. Emma informed me about common misconceptions about over the counter beauty products without pressuring me to purchase anything. Once in the private procedure room I was made to feel very at ease by both Emma's demeanor and the soothing, fragrant atmosphere. I was left to get ready and asked to take whatever time I needed. I opted for the Organic Oleander facial. I felt a little nervous - having never had a facial before, but again Emma's calm professionalism put me at ease. I attended the grand opening of Oleander with my neighbor who had already stopped into Oleander Aesthetics and was raving about their skincare line. The location is in the little antiques district around the corner from my house. Her pricing was reasonable and I want to support local business so I booked a facial while I was there for a few weeks later. I arrived at my appointment and the space was very peaceful and open with high ceilings. Emma was very friendly and welcoming. We sat and had tea like old friends. We went over a questionnaire that I filled out and from that she was able to determine the best facial for my skin. All of the product line that she uses is all natural and not tested on animals, which is very important to me. She expertly explained the process to me and asked questions to gauge my comfort level with parts of the facial. The facial was just as relaxing, if not more than a massage. In fact, a neck and shoulder massage was included and amazing. It was clear that she knew exactly what she was doing and has had a lot of experience. The products also smelled wonderful- I think my facial was the citrusy one. I should also add - It seems that anytime I have any treatments done, I am always chastised by the aesthetician (?) for the inferior and cheap products I am using. Emma didn't make me feel like that at all. She shared the products that she used and like any good business woman went over products/pricing but wasn't pushy. When I run out of my Target brand moisturizer, I will probably spring for the products she sells. I really enjoyed my facial and how my skin looked and felt when I left- so much that I have already scheduled my next appointment. This was an excellent experience for me.
