I love Vanity Nails! Every other time I have gotten my nails done, it feels like more of a chore than a pampering. The hand massage (and neck/shoulders pre-Covid) makes this more of a pampering! I love that they schedule appointments because I don't like waiting. Van and TD do an amazing job and are both kind and funny. I also love their loyal clients. My pedicure today was perfect. This small shop in a strip mall in Waldo has the friendliest staff I have found in Kansas City. Family run, they engage with the customers and are calm and unhurried, realizing guests are here to pamper themselves and enjoy the experience. It was so nice to relax and listen to music rather than watch the same home makeover shows I see in every nail salon I have been to here. Can't believe anyone would give Vanity Nails less than 5 stars! I've had more dip manicures than I can count, and when I get them done at Vanity, they are always perfect. Their attention to detail is outstanding, and my set lasts for WEEKS without any lifting, chipping, or staining. They truly understand how to build beautiful nail shapes that grow out gracefully. To top it off they are some of the sweetest and most professional people. They take covid precautions seriously and take the same level of care and detail when sanitizing the space. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Vanity Nails yet! I adore this nail salon. TD and Van are such a sweet couple, and they make my nails looks amazing. They also are gentle and have never caused me pain/bleeding, which is hard to find! I started doing dip powder manicures here a few months ago and it is saving my nails from myself (I'm a nail biter). My nails are the longest they've ever been and a dip manicure lasts a full month (though the nails do grow out, so you have a gap if you wait that long). The patrons are also great - I usually befriend the other person in here during the appointment time, so it makes the time fly by. I definitely wouldn't recommend walking in. It's best to make an appointment. They are very popular and it's just the two of them, so they can't churn people out like some other larger salons in the area. Great and harding working staff members. All super friendly and all really talented. The only issue I had was that they can be a bit unorganized. I had an appointment but it looked like they took too many walk ins so my friend and I had to wait about 10 minutes for a spot to open up. I got a pedicure and they really made sure to keep the stations sanitary. However, I do wish I got to soak my feet a little longer in the tub before getting my nails done. This is my favorite nail salon! They do great dip and gel nails. It's a cute couple who own and work here. Awesome service, and very personalized care. I've been to other local nail places and they definitely do not provide the same quality level as Vanity. Plus, I love that once your a regular, they provide you're own personal box of nail equipment tools that are only used with you. It makes me feel much more hygienic. Trash. Absolute trash service, trash business. Don't go here. There is no regard for comfort of client, or attention to detail. nail tech cut my cuticle with a drill then placed some sort of blue fluid with the applicator directly to my wound. I'm almost 100% sure I will get an infection from this salon. They used a dirty bowl full of what I can rightfully assume is re-used acetone to soak off my previous dip manicure. If I were a total Karen, I would report this business to the health department. read more

Stop looking for a new nail salon because you just found your new favorite! I am not someone who used to get my nails done very much. Nail salons made me very uncomfortable and upped my social anxiety. But earlier this year I was off of work because of surgery and I decided it was time to start doing some self care things that I normally wouldn't. It was a great decision! TD and Van are amazing people. The quality of the work they do and the time they spend with each customer is unparalleled. I have a very physical job where I carry heavy equipment and spend a lot of time outside and getting into and out of my car (aka the nail breaker). The dip powder is the only thing I've found that can withstand my abuse. And I actually look forward to going and getting my nails done...something I didn't know was possible a year ago. Anyone visiting should deal with this business either in cash or not at all. I had an appointment for dip and gel polish on my toes which totaled $65. After looking at my bank statement, I realized they charged me $5 over the grand total (tip was already included). I spoke with the shop who advised I could come and receive the $5 back. When I arrived, I asked to see the store copy of the receipt that I signed to understand where the mishap in transaction occurred. The owner refused and repeatedly said "...it's settled..."
