I walked in for a mani and pedi and was seen right away, which was convenient. The shop was small and cute. The service took longer than I expected, but I had time to spare, so I didn't mind too much. Everything looked great when I left. Unfortunately, just three days later, the gel polish started chipping, and the crack in my big toe that I thought had been fixed came back. I was hoping for longer-lasting results. All the reviews made me think this place is clean... I am not in agreement. Floors had lots of nail trimmings. No protective plastic liner in the foot soak basins. Dust on the chandeliers. My biggest issue is that the nail file was *not* new. It had been well used... on everyone--like hundreds of toes before mine. I didn't notice until she was using it on my second foot. Ick. I mean, really. Ick. The water was luke warm at best... but it is really hot summer time so I can't blame them for that. Maybe people don't want hot water in the height of the heat of summer. I'm giving the 2nd star for the massage chair. It was great. I think I will stick to doing my feet at home. I just can't find a place I feel is sanitary. I want a stand alone sanitized basin and clean tools that have been sanitized and used only on me. read more

Good job on friend's manicure but very confusing on phone and in person. I called and came in asking for replacement nail tips (gel fill) and it sounded like she said she could replace the nail tips but with acrylic & dip. I said ok & made appointment. When we arrived 9 minutes late the next day she had taken another customer and said she couldn't take us. As I prepared to leave, she said let me look at your nails. Apparently she's have to "soak off All the good nail tips before she'd do dip on the nails" but I had asked for 3 nail tips. She kept repeating she'd told me she couldn't do gel only dip which I knew- weird. Finally, we said just do the manicure for my friend. While doing my friend's manicure she kept changing her story with me...frustrating read more

I highly recommend this salon! They're so wonderful about getting me in quickly and they take the time to do my nails exactly the way I want them done instead of rushing me out like some of the other turn and burn places. The salon itself is so clean which is a huge plus for me and they have a massive selection of colors. I've done acrylic and dip and pedicures and they do a great job on all. The prices are really reasonable too, especially considering the level of service you get. read more

I really like this place! I always call to see if they have time and if you call before 1, they can usually get you in. They are always ready to go right when you get there and everyone that works here is so sweet. It is super clean in there and they have a wide selection of color options. I have only done gel and dip here and I have been really satisfied with both of them. They also have pretty good prices, and I don't feel like I am being over charged ever. I highly recommend it! read more

Visiting my family for the holidays and wanted to get a champagne chrome for New Years Eve. I read about True Nails online and they seemed to have good reviews so I decided to try it out. I couldn't be happier with my nails! The color was just what I wanted and they feel very solid compared to past nail jobs I have received. I can tell they will last. My nail technician was meticulous and was very thorough with every step of the process. The place was clean, relaxing and welcoming. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in KC! I have tried many nail salons in my area and True Nails is my go to. Consistency is always key and the nail technicians at True Nails are always consistent on providing EXCELLENT quality manicure and pedicures. I cannot recommend them more. My nail technician unfortunately got into my skin pretty good on several spots and left gel cured around my nails that left them looking a bit rough and hurting for a good week. I came in for a pedicure and wanted a classic white tip. I wasn't trying to pay hella so I wanted basic over gel. The first 5min she kept saying my toes were not gonna be shiny or last because i'm not getting gel. I kept telling her I was okay with that, but she kept fighting her opinion and I felt judged for mine. Also, I recently stubbed my toe so one of my toes had very little nail on it. The lady doing my nails pointed at it and said i had no nail to do the white tip. I said that's fine I get it, could u just leave that one and do the other ones white tip. she said yes. After the very bare minimum effort pedicure it's time to paint the toes. She painted all my toes white. THE WHOLE TOE WHITE. at this point, im fed up and don't even want to be in the salon anymore. I would not recommend this salon to my friends, im disappointed I couldn't even get the pedi i wanted and i don't get my nails done often. I could of done this at home if this was the case. read more

Truly a great place for nails. This was first place and only place i have visited for my nails in Kansas City. Anna is very diligent in the art of nails, plus i secretly like looking at her own nails from time to time. She is alway practicing a new form of art on her nails which i do admire. For those of you who love a tad bit of fun- there is a wall of colours which could make it difficult to make a decision. I go for the basic colours that look like a natural bed. I like the focus of the new colours featured by OPI. Anna one of the owners is impeccable and very easy to work with. The only thing is I wish they were open until 7pm. Overall I do find them pricy, however my gel manicure usually lasts about 3 weeks. I do cook and clean a good amount so I am glad they last that long as well. read more

It's been two weeks since I called Ann asking to squeeze me in for a dip and pedicure before my brother's wedding, and let me tell you, I'm still impressed with the quality of both services. My pedi was perfect! My ingrown nails were removed pain-free and with care. I upgraded for the extra massage time and it was absolutely worth it. Then, I got to the amazing Ann, who gave me a perfectly even, smooth, and shiny set of dip nails that are still in 100% perfect condition 2 weeks later. I cannot recommend this place enough! Stop looking and book now! Seriously, this lady was fielding last-minute requests the whole time I was there, so call early. Be kind! Tip generously! read more

I was surprised to be charged for the length of my natural nails but overall it was a good experience. Customer service was great and communication was upfront. I was extremely impressed by this nail salon. I desperately needed a manicure on Sunday, but there aren't a lot of places open. So I decided to try somewhere new. I decided to see if I could get a walk-in at noon when they opened. They were clearly very busy and gave me a time to come back (2:00pm). I really appreciate how they just didn't tell me to wait around (without telling me how long it would take) a while like some other salons I had been too. When I made it to my appointment they were very prompt about getting seated for my Mani-pedi. They very obviously are meticulous about doing the nails and don't try to rush to get walk-ins seated. My nails where cleaned and filed beautifully. I like them more square and always end up with crooked nails when I go to the salon. No so here. The paint job is also very well done and hasn't chipped at all. My nail tech was Jenny (one since there are two Jennys that work there). I am for sure going to come back to see her. I had a really great experience here and will probably be back to make this my regular nail salon! The service was impeccable, and the product quality is very high. The price is also high, but my gel mani is lasting me over a month - so I think the pricetag of $45 is well worthwhile. The location is prime and the salon is very clean. Proceed with caution. I got a pedicure here and while it was relaxing and the polish has lasted a long time, they don't use tub liners or single use/clearly sterilized equipment. It made me nervous while there but I did my best to not think about it because surely they clean them well? Anyway. Within a day, my legs broke out and I have developed a huge plantar wart on the bottom of my foot (almost a month later). I don't go to the gym or anything like that. The only place I'm ever barefoot is at home and then when I was getting a pedicure... I won't be returning unfortunately. read more

Parking: Parking at True Nails seems to be shared with other businesses. With that said, there does not seem to be much competition for parking spaces. The parking is not the cleanest or neatest, but it's spacious and close by the actual salon. For this, True Nails earns a 4-star review. Price: Pricing is about as standard as standard nail salon prices are. A manicure for the girlfriend is about $40 + tip. I feel like for the service, the price is spot on. True Nails receives a rating of 5-stars due to its affordability for their customers. Interior: Clean, comfy, and social distancing! Obviously, you have to wear a mask and keep clean and you should, because I mean, there's a pandemic on the loose! Do your part and help them keep the already clean store...well, clean! Everything is organized, cleaned, and well kept. Unlike most nail salons, this place does not burn off your nose hairs with overwhelming chemical fragrance. Both Mani/Pedi stations are clean and tidy. True Nails obtains a 5-star rating because of awesome cleanliness. Food: Well, it is a nail salon, there are not any food services, but it seems there is a Keurig station and snacks. While I did not indulge in the snacks and coffee, it is a welcome compliment to the nail services provided. Solely due to them considering their customers snack option True Nails gets a 5-star from me! Service: So when you go to a nail salon you kind of expect to receive good service ya? Well this is it. Let us call our nail stylist in the review "LaLa", and LaLa knows how to make have great conversation while providing superior nail polish application. I just had my nails done here yesterday. They did a terrible job. The woman who did my pedicure…read morerushed and did not do a good job. She seemed irritated because I didn't opt for the luxury pedicure. This is the worse French pedicure I have ever gotten in my life. I am so disappointed. I also got my nails done and today I woke up with an air bubble in nails. I will not be back! If you want professional looking nails go elsewhere.

I was willing to drive a little further because of what I suspected was her skill and personal attention. WHAT a lovely experience! Both the pedicure AND manicure. My nails and cuticles needed special attention, as I had been traveling and not had either for several months. I did a special pedicure, well worth the extra and a gel manicure -- with her carefully explaining the need for allowing my natural nail/s to grow out/she had to shorten my nails -- but with the gel...they looked very professional and we used a sheer with enough color to cover).
