Nail Art - This is a $70 fill! WORST MISTAKE EVER! - Nail Salons Near Me - Shawnee, Kansas

1st of all "Nail Art" can't even do any designs or art on your nails 2nd How are you gonna charge for gel removal when I am getting a new get manicure? Wouldn't removing the old gel be required 3rd How did I get upgraded services and was done before my niece and sister? (and u could tell my nails were rushed) 4th When I tell you my nails are messed up you ignore me and leave the shop while I wait for the rest of my party no offer to correct or anything 5th How have 2 of my nieces nails came off and my gel polish chipping after only 1 week? This place is trash I figured I would try it since it is close to my house, but if I could give a 0 rating I would! Not only were my nails messed up but it was also more expensive than any other place I have went! read more

Over charged for nails and pretended not to speak good English. In addition the posted signs with charges are not clear and they don't explain them well. In addition they don't time manage customer services well. The facility was not the cleanest either. read more

The work they do is most often, very well done. Only once have I had a small complaint. My nails got filed too thin, and I had to come back a little sooner than expected. One broke, because I type every day. The repair fee was only $10. Reasonable. The scheduling is difficult. It is based on technician assigned to the customer - not on who arrived when. Appointments cannot take precedence if only one (or two) person/people is/are capable of a particular request, and if they're available. So, walking in is as good as making an appointment. One guy did my nails on a walk in, (Acrylic set + gel) and stayed thirty minutes past close to finish my nails. It was his birthday and the entire staff was patiently occupying themselves until he finished, so they could celebrate. I was invited. :-) Good people. read more

Nail Art has great prices compared to other nail salons in the area. The salon is clean and they provide free beverages such as soda or water. I typically get dip powder manicures and the two that I have gotten here both have chipped within the first week. Also, both times I had to wait a bit longer than when my appointment was supposed to start. I have a family member who this is her go to salon and raves about her manicures though! read more

The nail techs are amazing!!! I usually don't review, but they deserve 6 stars! Came with a friend and both us of got gel mani/pedis and definitely the best I've ever had. The gel lasted so long and looked beautiful way longer than any gel mani/pedi I've ever had. I won't be going anywhere else again! read more

A great nail salon! I love how it is decorated. Very classy with the elevated nail bar and tile. My gal gave me an extra long leg massage. This is my favorite thing ever. If I get a good leg massage I will be back every time. They did a great job and didn't leave me waiting in my chair very long before they came for my pedicure. The only reason I take off a star is because I called before coming in and the response was to "come in at 6:15". When I got there they were a little bit rude like I had came at the end of their shift and they didn't appreciate it. I will definitely go back and hope they will be more welcoming. read more

Scheduled an appointment easily for same day! Great :) I am visiting family in Kansas, as my usual salon is in Las Vegas. Since I had been here for a couple weeks I was due for some maintenance so based on the pictures I saw of the "coffin" nails I found on this business's page I opted with them! Came in, was pleasantly surprised at the decor and how cute it looked. I was greeted promptly and was told to select my color :) I was in a pedicure chair and feet soaking within 5-10 mins. The woman who did my pedicure was so nice and so sweet! And did a great job on my toes. I got rhinestones on my toes and they are still all in tact and looking nice. So my toes are 10 stars! Nails ... I decided to get rhinestones on all fingers, along the tops, to match my toes. I got the same color as well as toes. I asked for coffin shape and my acrylic was filed perfectly, smooth, no irregularities in texture. My lengths amongst my nails were slightly off but only noticeable to me, I guess. My gel however, was very lumpy, very uneven, and 4 days later, 4 of my nails have damaged gel. I had drops of gel that were left un-filed on the very tip of my nail which leads to gel lifting. On one nail, all of my rhinestones are missing :( and on 5 other nails ( so six nails total ) I am missing at least one out of 7 small rhinestones across the top. I came in at 4:30 on Wednesday. Left at 7:15. Not too long not too short. My nail tech who did my nails who was polite to me, and did the design exactly as I asked. While I was getting my nails done, within an hour and a half of being in the nail chair, two women came in to get a nail fixed. It's not a good sign :( Over all - 9/10. I can say I do like more flamboyant flashy nails and that may not be the norm out here so maybe there hasn't been a lot of practice with rhinestones, or gel. But I'm sad I need to get my nails fixed 4 days later. :,( Price- for everything was 105 (not including tip). I thought was very fair considering I got rhinestones on two big toes and every single finger, and a new full set (no removal, I had no nails on) so price is great. I imagine it was around 40 for toes 60 for nails. ( I got my inspiration from a picture on Pinterest, they didn't have the exact color I liked, but they did have something similar so I opted for that, but I was disappointed they didn't have a nice neon yellow, their selection for gel is quite limited if you like fun or different colors ) read more

First time going here, at the recommendation of a friend. A sweet young girl with blue glasses did my pedi $25 foe the basic pedicure. Included leg and foot massage, hot towels, lotion of some kind. That alone took 45 mins. She took her time and was very thorough. Not very talkative, but that's what I prefer. TK did my acrylic nails with gel polish ($45) and he did a fabulous job! He really took his time to make sure they were all the same length and looked similar. I haven't had my nails done in probably a decade. I couldn't be happier with the result! Will definitely return! read more

My friend and I had stumbled upon this place and it was a so-so situation. We called beforehand since we had additional people in our party. We ended up waiting well over an hour. However they did stay over an hour and pampered us all very well. So we gave em another shot and he did great. My nails are going on 3 weeks now and still rather fresh. Will be returning. read more

What a horrible experience!!!! I walked in today thinking it would not be busy. They started a pedicure on me when apparently someone who had an appointment came in right after me. Instead of telling me she had a booking, she started on me. It was a rush job, to put it mildly, as the other customer waited. As my nails were drying she started to work on the other customer. She made me wait until she was finished with the other customer before I could pay. I had to wait an extraordinary long time for her to finish with the other customer before I could pay. Not to worry, I will never bother you again. read more

Tucked away in a little strip mall off Shawnee Mission Pkwy is Nail art, one of the best places to get your nails done in Shawnee. I've been to more nail places than I care to admit and this little place is one of my favorites. The staff is professional, the work is always consistent, the establishment is very clean, prices are fair, and the most important part.. the gel, dip, and nail polish lasts a long time. My dip was on for nearly 4 weeks last time I got it done. Highly recommend! read more

We got to the nail shop this morning for my gf and it was a big bright sign that said open and it says open @ 12:00 we got here @ 11:53 there was a lady working on a customers pedicure and another lady patiently waiting outside till 12:00 because the door was locked it clearly states open on sundays @ 12 I'm really only making this because she made that poor lady stand outside for 30 min wen she seen her standing there just to come to the door at 12 and hang up a sign that says where closed. sorry idk if it was racial profiling or if she was having a bad but this is not a good place to be loyal to plz go to another nail shop me n my gf are just a by stander. read more

The owner Long is an amazing nail artist! He was able to copy (and improve on) several intricate designs my granddaughters had chosen.

I went to the salon on 6/20 and not even 2 HOURS after I left the salon my $50 gel acrylics started peeling. Both my thumbs and index fingers look awful and I am extremely disappointed. Not only that, but the person who did my nails took a smoke break while I went to the restroom and I waited for them to come back to finish my less than quality manicure. Not coming back read more

I really hope that the service I experienced most recently keeps up. Brooke did a really nice job on my new set of nails; she was fun to talk to, and made me feel very welcome and good about coming back again. read more

I tried this place for the first time two weeks ago because of how close it is to my house. The wait was a little long but I understood since it was near the end of the day. I got an acrylic gel manicure. The nail tech who was working on me cut my skin a few times on different finger. I let it be until it really started to hurt. Now here I am two weeks later needing a fill and will not be returning. My nails have lifted so badly. I could peel some of them off by how much they're lifted. This shouldn't happen after two weeks with a brand new set. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this place which is a shame because of the convenience. read more

They do a GRRET job with acrylics and shaping (I am pretty picky. Have found some places are awful at coffin, Stiletto shaping). Prices are very reasonable. I have been charged $10 more at other places for a less well done job. This is def my go to spot from now on. Only complaint is I wish they had a larger variety of gel polish options. read more

Walked in on a Friday afternoon and were greeted promptly and serviced within 5-10 minutes. What a nice salon! The decor is sleek and modern and the nail "bar" is really cool with several televisions above. We got manis and pedis and I thought the prices were very fair. The technicians did a great job and were very friendly. It has been a full 7 days and I have not had a single chip! A great spot! read more

This place is the best! I have been coming here to get gel and dip for the past 5 years! I have tried other places and there is no comparison between the quality of products and the quality by the staff! I have seen them all and they are all equally good without a doubt! I typically see T who is great! She is quick and always does my nails well! The dip has never peeled and rarely ever chips! It last me 6-8 weeks without any issues! Don't listen to any of the bad reviews, try it and you will not be disappointed! I love this place and everyone is so nice! Will never go anywhere else! read more

i slammed my hand in a car door with acrylic nails done by this salon and my nails did NOT break or chip at all.

I tried this place for the first time tonight and I was very disappointed. I have never had such a horrible gel manicure. It started off awful when he went to push my cuticles back, he didn't soak them or put cuticle oil on he just shoved them back dry. After that he refused to cut my hangnails even when I pointed out the ones he missed, saying it's fine. Once he started with the gel polish his base coat was all over my fingers, and not only on my nail. When he applied the color it looked like I had painted them myself at home. I went to point out the areas I was not happy with and he said 'you're done.' Awful experience will not recommend to return to this salon. read more

May did a great job on my pedicure but the guy who did my manicure was awful. I have naturally long nails and since he reshaped them which I didn't want or like 3 of them have broke in less than a week. I will go back for pedicures but never again for a manicure. read more

As we walked into Nail Art there was a woman outside who walked in after us on her phone. We were not greeted, and the girl walked behind the counter and slowly finished texting. No one ever even said hello, even after I had called in advance to say we were celebrating a birthday with a manicure and would be there at a certain time. We were not seated next to each other, and my manicurist said maybe five words to me yet had a long phone conversation on her earpiece. The decor was not bad despite the pealing chairs in the front entrance. Would not come back. read more

Nail Art - Two chipped nails two days after getting gel manicure - Nail Salons Near Me - Shawnee, Kansas

Not very interactive or nice people, the girl I had wore white glasses. I wanted my nails way way way shorter than what I walked out with but got iritated from her tediousness so I just let her be. Took my nails off the day I got back from my trip to Vegas. Also, the guy who worked next to her was complaining about how he wanted to go home the whole time I was there and how he was not going to get "the next person who walked in". I only came here since my usual nail Salon was not open and was leaving for my trip the next day. read more

The salon is very stylish and clean. I went in a little worried about getting gel since there are some reviews on here saying that theirs chipped quickly but I gave them a chance anyways because they are so talented at nail art designs. Its been 2 weeks and my gel still has not chipped!!! I can't say I have ever had that happen before. Long did a great job and was very informative. Only negative thing I can say is that the salon smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Since I've only been here once so it could have just been a one time thing. I will definitely go back! read more
