I visited Organic Nails based on the recommendation of a friend. I have never gotten my nails done, but wanted to since I am getting married on Wednesday. When she was putting the acrylic tips on, she had me put one hand under the UV light, but not the other hand. I asked about it, but she said it was fine. I don't know much about nails, but this seemed odd. I also noticed their nail files were very worn and dusty and the overall work station was not clean. They were out of the color I asked for, the nail tech doing my nails suggested a few colors which weren't what I wanted (hot pink rather than a peach color to coordinate with my bouquet). She looked more and came back with this bubblegum color. I admittedly have a hard time saying no to people, but I did say I didn't think it was quite right. She seemed very impatient and insisted that it would look perfect and started to paint it on. Overall, the color was not what I wanted and will not go with my bouquet, the color is blotchy and not applied well, she got gel/acrylic on my skin in a lot of places, and it felt uncomfortably dirty at her work station. I get that they were busy and in a hurry, but I would rather they told me I would have to rebook my appointment than rush. I came home in tears and am looking for somewhere to have them redone. I really do feel like every time I come in here there is always SOMETHING wrong with my nails. They're either crooked or clipped weird and then try to say it's MY finger when I literally sat there and watch them. I just hate that every time I go I am disappointed when walking out after spending literally over $100. Normally I am given options for what kind of pink or nude but I wasn't and I was given this ugly bright bubble gum pink and then the French part was sloppy and the charm placements weren't placed the same so one of them already broke off. I don't know why I keep coming back and give them chance after chance but honestly this is the last straw. I can't even be mad because they're nice so I feel obligated to be nice as well but on the inside I am fuming. Also it's like they're rushing to get me out if the chair. Ugh I wanted to love so bad as it's so close to my house and have been 2 other times and really loved my service. This time I left bleeding and with nails all different shapes, thicknesses, dip stuck to my fingers and all sorts of lengths This time there was some miscommunication around the shape and I will own that I was not clear. I tried to communicate I wasn't a fan of the shape before she got too far and showed pictures of what I was looking for but she kept getting more and more frustrated when I tried to explain that they were not straight and finally I gave up. Someone did try to come over and help but at this point there was so fixing it. I did not want to be rude and hurt her feelings I know she was doing her best but I felt that once she was frustrated she just rushed me out of there and I left unhappy. my sisters frequent this place, and I came from out of town. I was shocked that I paid the same as a luxury experience in San Francisco but was left with this. No nail trim, no cleaning under my nails, no work on my cuticles, and getting smacked on my hand like a little kid and being told not to move. I went there today after my flight landed and I needed to kill time before hotel check in. Firstly I paid for a more expensive pedicure that lasted only 30 mins. It's was so rushed and I was confused why I was done before people who came in before me. Then I went to get a manicure. She had an attitude and immediately started to take the steps for dip. No cleaning, cuticle trim, nail shaping. These are the basics for a manicure. Anyway she ended up cutting my nail and I was bleeding. What is shocking is that I despite the bleeding, she just rinsed the clippers after me AND poured back my excess dip into the actual dip container for some one else to enjoy. My pedicure is awful. It looks like a hack job I tried on myself and they never bothered to remove the old previous color properly. Will not be coming back. First off, this is a beautiful nail salon and they definitely have a lot of colors to choose from. I came in one Monday afternoon to get a dip manicure and a pedicure. I had already set up an appointment with Alan because I had a friend recommend him and was told he was great. (Which he was) He did an excellent job on my dip manicure. When I arrived I was immediately led to a pedicure chairs in which a woman came over to start my pedicure I explained to her I had an appointment with Alan but she said he did not do pedicures which I thought "okay, no big deal." (But I am a very picky person so I was a little nervous.) I explained to the girl doing my pedicure that I wanted a French with a light pink but she explained to me that she only did French with a transparent reddish color which I was not a fan of. So I opted for just a light pink color on my toes with no white tip. I figured it would match better with the ombre I had in mind for my hands rather than the reddish transparent color. All in all the pedicure was good but i still think it was weird a white tip couldn't be done with any color (which ive had done in the past) for a professional pedicure. After my pedicure Alan took care of my dip and it came out beautifully. I can without a doubt say that my experience here was the fastest I've ever had my nails done all together and probably one of the most expensive. I was in and out of the salon within just over an hour and (with tip included) I played about $105. If I was ever in a pinch I would still come back because they did do a great job and my mani-pedi lasted me about a month, which is great. I even recommended the spot to a girlfriend of mine who went back a week later with her sister and they really enjoyed it. read more

This use to be be my favorite nail salon! I would recommend to all my friends and when we moved I still drive over 35 mins to go to them. However, over the last 5 months the service, attention to detail and lack of desire to meet customers requests is well, REALLY POOR. I brush off the first bad experience thinking that everyone has a bad day, the second bad experience was during a busy weekend, but the third was today. I was disregarded when I asked for the color samples I knew they had, and then watched another tech give the same indifference to another customer. No conversation engagement and the worlds fastest and poorest pedicure I have ever received ( and I paid for the Deluxe!) I think it's time to find somewhere else that still appreciates the loyal customer. First bad review I have ever felt compelled to give. Man this is like a bad breakup. This place is so great I hesitate to write a review and make them even busier than they already are, but they deserve all the praise. Make an appointment in advance, bc they are always full... bc they're GREAT! And it's worth the wait. I've never had a bad experience here. They're fast but thorough and detail-oriented. Unlike some other places I've been locally, my polish 1) never ends up changing colors after a day or two and 2) always comes out looking like the color I chose in the first place (at another local place I recently chose bright red for my toes, but somehow ended up with neon orange- yikes). This salon is hit or miss. I've been 5-6 times now for different services. I've gotten pedicures and dip manicures. The experience all depends on your nail technician. I almost always make an appointment and arrive 5 minutes or so early as it gives me time to pick out a color. There have been times when they've really rushed me to hurry up and pick a color and sit down, even when the salon isn't busy. Overall I usually am seen within 5-10 minutes of my appointment, which isn't bad. Some of the nail techs aren't friendly or seem that happy to be there. My worst experience here was by far my pedicure done by Kayla. I gave her my polish and she sat it on the tray where several other polishes were sitting. I leaned back to relax and read my book. When I glanced down, I saw she'd started painting one foot in the wrong color. Someone had come by to collect the other polishes that were sitting on the tray and Kayla had kept the wrong one to use on me. When I told her that was not what I had chosen, she got mad and roughly started swiping the polish off while talking to the nail tech next to her. I didn't understand the language they spoke, but could perfectly read Kayla's tone and facial expression which said that she was annoyed with me for what was her mistake. I've had better experiences with some of the other nail techs there, but even then the quality of the manicure isn't consistent. Sometimes it will be great and I love how the nails turn out, but often I find that a thorough job with attention to detail isn't done. For instance, a nail on one hand will be longer than the nail on the same finger of the other hand, the shape of the nails isn't consistent, there's air bubbles or uneven surface on the dip, or the color isn't quite an accurate match for the swatch, etc. They also nickel and dime you here. You get charged an extra dollar for the toe spacer that's part of the pedicure. Why not just include that in the overall price of the pedi? It's not like you're given an option to have it or not. It's needed for that service. Also, they charge extra for certain nail shapes AND extra on top of that for extensions. And heaven forbid you leave a tip on your card instead of cash. I'll probably be back because it's a convenient location and they do have a wide variety of dip colors, but I've definitely learned to request a specific nail tech that I know does a thorough job! read more

So, I went to organic nails after several brides have recommended it. It was a quick experience. They were quick, not always a problem, but when you have wedding nails to get done. You want someone to really focus on their work. It was going well until a random spec of glitter made its way into the dipping powder and was spread on my nail. When asked if they can fix only two responses were given 1- you can't see it 2- it must have come from The dipping powder. When asked again, are you telling me you won't fix this; I'm getting married tomorrow- she didn't give a response and when pressed said no- this was Jennifer. The manager was overlooking and didn't bother to step in. So enjoy a decent job but if there are any issues, be prepared to have no one give a hoot. It wasn't a cheap visit either, not that it should justify crummy customer service. read more

The first time I went, I was slightly disappointed because my nail with dip powder started chipping within 3 days. I'm very OCD so I called and spoke to Allan (manager) and he told me to go in right away. I went in, they were pretty busy. I was prepared to wait a while since I didn't technically have an apt. He sat me down within 5 min, fixed my nail and even added a new color to my nails at no cost. He was wonderful. I'll be back to him or Vincent for sure! The atmosphere is great. The place is so clean and they have over 10 techs working every time I go in. Only thing I'd see room for improvement in is more chairs for people that have to wait, either customers or people that are accompanying the customers. Other than that, it's great. read more

Came in for a mani & pedi.. first of all the lady that was doing my toes did not cover my full toe nail with polish, it's very horrible quality. I also got acrylic nails with tips and I showed the lady a picture of the nails I wanted and couldn't even do a simple design so I ended up getting stickers instead.. she added the gel coat and the stickers started lifting off my nail and I told the lady & she just said "it's okay". Well not even an hour after leaving the salon, the stickers came off. Here I am a few days later and one of my toes starts hurting/throbbing with pain & it hurts to put pressure on it/ to walk. I really hope this doesn't turn into an infection. Seems like they just wanted to hurry up and not take time to do quality work. read more

I went to Organic Nails a couple of weeks ago for the first time. The service I got was dip powder for my nails. Keep in mind that I have gone to other salons for dip powder and have been getting dip powder on my real nails for years. Pros - 1) I was in and out in a little over an hour. 2) My dip powder has lasted for over 2 weeks now (though, see con #3). 3) Ombre dip powder looked great (cost $56 w/out tip). Regular dip powder with 1 color is $41 w/out tip. Cons - 1) Chaotic/busy when I walked in and someone doing nails loudly told me to sign into a computer kiosk that I didn't know how to work. I had to figure it out myself. Just not real welcoming =( 2) They soak your fingers in acetone instead of using acetone soaked cotton on just the nail itself (which is better for your hands and more personable). 3) The nail tech shaped my nail AFTER completing my manicure. This caused my real nail to show on the side. It also caused my real nail to lift, tear and chip on the sides. I am not sure how bad my real nails will look after this dip powder is removed, but don't think it will be good. 4) The nail tech did not push back my cuticles (so kind of surprised the manicure hasn't lifted). I gave the business 3 stars due to the cons on my list. Due to those cons (mainly the acetone soak and shaping/filing nails after dip nails were complete), I do not believe I will be going back. It's a bummer because they are close to my house, so very convenient. read more

I rarely leave reviews and went back and forth if I should leave this one. I hate to say it because I love this place and have loved it for years. Alan has always been so nice and I've had a great experience with every person I've interacted with here until this week. I used organic nails as my go to spot for years before I moved away from Kansas City but every time I'm back for a visit I make sure to stop in for dip. My nails have always lasted longer than anywhere I've found in my new city. A few days ago I went in for dip and the guy who did my nails was nice enough but I could tell he was in a big hurry. He didn't talk much which was fine because I'm not a big talker either but he asked how short I wanted my nails cut, cut my pinky which I said was a good length and then proceeded to cut all of my other nails noticeably shorter down to stubs. I was disappointed but didn't say anything because who cares, they'll grow back. Today I started to notice my top layer is peeling off on multiple nails. It hasn't even been 3 days. That has never happened anywhere I've gone let alone organic. They usually last me 3 weeks every other time I've gone. Not to mention the dip job just looks sloppy and rushed. I'm not mad, honestly just super disappointed as I've looked forward to my visit here since booking my flight to KC. I wish I had time to go get them fixed but I have a 2 year old and am traveling by myself so I just don't have the time. read more
