I came in as a walk-in and tried the "Heavenly" pedicure, their most expensive option. The staff was very kind and pleasant, and I appreciated being fit in. However, the service felt very rushed and didn't feel much different from a basic pedicure aside from a sugar scrub that was nice. However, my toe was accidentally cut during the service and alcohol was sprayed on it three separate times which was quite uncomfortable. The gel polish was uneven and began peeling the same night. Overall, while the people were kind, the experience didn't meet my expectations for the price, and I don't plan to return. read more

In my opinion staff was NOT the friendly not welcoming environments . Had a Toddler being changed in the open at a pedicure chair which was not sanitary nor safe. Nails chipped not even an hour after leaving, and 6 days later they're also lifting. (Dip). Nail tech kept yanking hands instead of either asking or gently moving. Only time i got conversation was when she said to tip using Venmo. Not the cleanest. Also they charge when you use your debit card which was ran as credit which is not the customer's responsibility to pay their fees!! First and last time and do not recommend . The guy with the Pregnant Wife and the Hollering out of Control 2-Year Old was Extremely Rude and Disrespectful. The 2-Year Old was Throwing A Terrible Temper Tantrum Disrupting The Atmosphere! I have Never Seen or Heard Anything Like This Before In My Entire Life. The guy doing my Nails Was Upset that I Complained About His BABY! All the Worker's Were Catering To This 2-Year Old. No Humidifiers or Ceiling Fans were on to get Rid of The FUMES of the PRODUCT. The Guy told me that they all were tired when I PAID, And they're Headed Home. I Will Never Ever Return To THIS SHOP! I do not recommend this salon due to poor workmanship and a lack of customer care. I get my nails done monthly and have never experienced service like this. I visited this newly opened salon three times. On my most recent visit, my usual technician was unavailable, and I was assigned to Paul. I asked for a dip manicure with three full coats. Instead, I received what looked like a single strip down the center of my nails. When I questioned it, the tech responded dismissively and insisted he had done what I asked, which was clearly not the case. During removal, the dip became gummy and stuck to my skin. Afterward, there was a hard, shiny residue left on my hands. When I asked to have it removed, the tech began filing my skin. When I suggested using acetone, he dismissed my concern and claimed it was "my skin." I had recently had foot surgery and informed the front desk that nothing abrasive should be used during my pedicure. I was left sitting in cold water for several minutes and had to refill it myself. When the tech arrived, he grabbed my foot despite my resisting, became visibly frustrated when I spoke up, rushed the service, didn't properly clean my cuticles, and abruptly told me to wait 10-15 minutes for the polish to dry, and I could leave. When I raised concerns about the service I received, I was told they would "talk to them," and asked if I wanted their Venmo. I returned, and I was then informed that a complaint had been made about me, claiming I made another customer uncomfortable (which is false). During the previous visit, I asked a client who was next to me if this was routine service for this salon. who stated that they had been a few times, but it was not. I was refused service instead of my concerns being addressed with "what wouls have wanted me to do"? Being reprimanded for advocating for myself is unacceptable. The service was rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional. read more

Not a review type person. I was visiting my niece and her family. Needed to get my nails and pedicure done. Glad I chose this place as the vibes were positive. They took me as a walk-in. Alex was amazing and attentive. Had a situation with my big toe nails breaking off and was just going to get clear polish. Alex built me a nail that looked very natural. The mom did my prep for the pedicure and she was super gentle. The only downside was the massage chair. Definitely can use an upgrade. Other than that, overall experience 9/10. read more

Posted a review a few days ago. THESE ARE MY NAILS NOW. They're completely ruined. I work in healthcare so I use my hands a lot - I am so upset with this salon and how they treated me. The son who took care of me even said "it's not my fault" after he drilled practically my whole nail off. He also gave me a "discount" charging me "only" 30$ to take my gel x off and clean up my nails after he ruined them. So so upset. read more

Didn't too much matter but once I finished my nails were already burning and when the guy attempted to check me out and give me a punch card the guy who completed my set told him not to because I didn't live there. When you first walk in, this is located in an unassuming strip mall off of Shawnee Mission Parkway. The building is about your average nail salon. I was in need of a pedicure and was not really impressed with anywhere I had gone before so I found that Magic Nails had really great reviews and thought I would give it a try. The owners are Kit and Amy and they run the place alone without any employees. Amy was very nice and kind. She cleaned up my dry, gross feet. I got the basic pedicure ($28) and that was really nice. I should probably do an upgrade next time because my heels are just always in bad shape. The massage part was my favorite. She pulled out lotion from the warm towel area and warm lotion was applied on my legs and feet. It felt so nice I had to close my eyes to properly enjoy it. She also added a hot towel to my legs, and I'm not sure if that came with the basic pedicure or if it was just a nice first customer touch! There was quite an assortment of polish colors to choose from as well as nail service options. If you enjoy a no frills nail salon experience where they do a great job, this place is for you! I called the day b4 requesting a dip manicure. I told them I had 3 nails with dip remnants and my nails were a mess. I told the woman I needed one of the best techs bc I'm very particular. After all I had called at least 8 salons frm my list tht had great reviews but were booked solid. Anyhoo I went to my appt. I was greeted pleasantly and sat down with Alec. He suggested I get acrylic for now, let my nails grow back out then get dip. I went along with it. I showed him a pic and that's wut he gave me. Alec was personable, funny, talkative but focused and efficient. I luv luv luv my nails!! Thank u Alec! It was getn late but I asked if I cud get my toes polished. I ended up getn a full pedicure. It absolutely was one of the best pedicures I've evr had. Tony was putting me to sleep! I was so relaxed tht I dropped my fone in the water and it took me a min to realize it. They got me a fan to help dry it and Polly, Alec's wife was googling what to do. Evn with dropping my fone this was a great exp. My hands and toes looked beautiful! Oh I almost 4got. They do give cards to stamp for disc. They have an ATM and the shop was clean. I have been in fancier and newer salons. But POW NAILS is fancy enuf, clean, owners are nice service was great, prices comparable and it's close to home! What more cud u ask?!! I just hope my second visit lives up to my first. Small, clean, quite and most importantly personable. Kit and Amy (husband and wife duo) were so kind and did an amazing job on my nails! Appointment is recommended because it's just them two. I know that can cause a bit of annoyance but if you know ahead of time give them a call and schedule. This isn't a "fast pace/in and out" nail salon, it's quality time and work. Reasonable prices - I got a gel mani and pedi for $70. Honestly, I think the best part for me is the conversation. Kit and Amy let you relax but also have conversation - so personable. Great little spot! I had called hoping they would have an open appointment for me to get my nails done, no one answered so I left a voicemail and they got back to me right away. They were able to schedule me to come in the next day (and later found out they do not take walk ins). I went in asking for an ombré dip with tips. The only reason why this place got 4 instead of 5 stars was because I showed them a picture of what I wanted and it did not turn our anything like the picture, regardless I still liked the way my nails turned out even though it wasn't what I went in wanting.
