I called on my way and they were able to get me in for a pedi right away, so that was good. I got the volcano pedicure and it was nice and only $50. The reason i wont give 5* is because i do my onw nails usually and while looking through every color they were all very liquidly. as someone who speaks a different language, I know that it's rude to do so around folks who can't understand you. Anyway I had to sit through a seemingly somewhat aggressive exchange between two employees while getting my pedicure. She kept remarking that I needed to relax, which is ironic as instead of relaxing music I had to deal with this sort of bickering. My pedicure wasn't noteworthy either. I got the mid grade package, and just kinda awkward due to this unnecessary crosstalk. The saving grace of this place was Josie, who did my gel nails. I was in town for the weekend and needed to get my nails done. I easily made an appointment via Yelp with NAILS Salon #1...off to a good start! My nail technician was Asia and she was amazing from start to finish. We had good conversation while she gave me some gorgeous fire-engine red coffin acrylics. Definitely make an appointment and ask for Asia, especially if you're doing acrylics. Side note: Also just be a good customer and make an appointment for acrylics anyway...acrylic walk-ins are not easy to accommodate! Everyone there was so friendly and everything was very clean...two more huge selling points. I'm not sure what the rest of the nail game is like in the Kansas City area, and I'm not sure what the rest of their services are like, but it was a 5 out of 5 visit for me! read more

I went to the salon Friday June 4th for a mani and pedi. This was my first visit because I'm new to this side of town. All went well until the gal nicked me on my big toe which must have hit a nerve because it hurt like heck. Then she started scrubbing the bottom of my feet with that abrasive sand block. I think she didn't realize she was holding the block at such an angle it started cutting the center of my arch as she scrubbed. It hurt but I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home. My biggest concern of course is infection, so far so good! But it's been an uncomfortable weekend hobbling around trying to keep it clean. I did go in and talk to the gal on Sunday (I won't give out her name, she's a sweet gal and felt bad) to let her know, but she would have had of seen the cuts herself after the fact. Called to book 6 pedicures only 2 days in advance. They told us the time which worked for us luckily. No place close would see more than 2 of us at a time. They were so nice and friendly! 10/05/2019 at 10 am was my first time at this nail salon. I just moved to the area and what I encounter throughout my service there was by far the WORST. I asked one of the nail tech if she had an olive green color and she spoke in her language, Thai (not knowing that I could understand her) to her staff saying she don't know what that color is so I showed her a picture and she said "oh this girl want the color dog shit" okay... I let that comment slide without saying anything. I was already ready to leave but something keep telling me to continue and see how the service was. As I sat down to get my nails done. I listened to everything they said about every single customer that came in, judging them by how they look (including me) and our expressions. I was simply minding my own business and asked the nail tech (her name was coco whatever the hell she said) how long has she been doing nails and if she likes doing it. She said 3 years. Then her little side buddy who was doing another clients nail with an orange hair (very skinny) made a comment towards me saying I didn't laugh with her, only smiled as it may seem that I just woke up. And I responded back to her, "I am very much awake" then they were shocked at my response trying to decide if I knew a little bit of their language or able to speak it. I hardly responded and they continued to talk in Thai talking about my face expression. How I looked mad.. how clueless and dumb they are. Regardless of anyone's nationality or if they're able to understand it or not, they should not talking about customers! Had I not understand they would just continue to smile in your face and gossip right in front of you. Most people would walk out but I decided to stay and to also warn others that these nail tech lady indeed talk crap/judge you right in your face. The littlest thing you say, they turn it into a joke/or comment it to their staffs. I paid for my service and also let the lady know that I did in fact understood every little thing they said. I got my nails done here in November for my wedding, I got them done 2 days before my wedding 11/04 and by 11/06 almost all of them had already fallen off. I was very upset. I like to keep my nails short and rounded and they both did a great job with that request, whereas other salons in the area did not.
