I have been coming to have my nails done here for over 10 years. Love the service, the people, and never had a problem with anything. I'm impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Anything I ask for, it's done and done well! The pedicures are fantastic. So much so, it makes it hard for me to leave. Very friendly, courteous, welcoming staff! I will continue to have my nails, both finger and toes only done at Galaxy nails. read more

I have been coming to Galaxy Nails since it was Glamour Nails going on 20 years. The salon is clean and I love their new message chairs. The lovely woman who always takes care of me and my daughters throughout the years is always kind and great at what she does. I have always had a great experience! 100% recommend!! read more

I have been getting my nails done by Megan for a few years and she always does a really great job. Megan and her husband took over ownership of Galaxy Nails in the past year or so. They have completely renovated the inside, including their pedicure spa area. They were hard to make sure that they can get you read more

Never again! I paid $55 dollars for dIpped nails. I was extremely tired that morning got home took a nap and looked at my nails. They looked awful. The looked like I needed a fill on some nails others were really thick. I called back spoke with Eli who told me to come back but I was going out of town that evening and wouldn't be back for 2 weeks. He said when I get back to call and make an with him. Something happened while I was out of town so I couldn't come back on until a few days ago I called today he says it's been too long. He can only give me 25% off my service. The nails looked so bad I took them off the day after I made it to my out of town destination because People kept saying "I see it's time for you to get a fill". I hope their poor customer service was worth losing a customer. This was my 3rd visit. I had recently started getting my nails done because I loved the dipped powder and thought this was going to be my regular place. I refuse to pay $55 plus tip for trash nails and trash customer service! Unfortunately I deleted the other photos before I decided to do this review. read more

Sunday was my first time going to Galaxy Nails and I was impressed. First off the man running the fro were very personable on the phone and in person. Offered me a beverage shortly after entering. I had my pedicure first. I felt so pampered and relaxed, they made sure I had a little fan on me and she really took her time on my feet. The lovely gal's name was Sandy. She had a gentle hand when it needed to be gentle and firm when it came to the massage. I got the French tips and she did a great job! I then was taken to the other side to have my nails filled. The nail techs name was Jenny and she gave we exactly what I wanted! Shape and color is perfect. Our conversation was enjoyable and the serves was amazing! I really liked the separation of the pedicures and nails. I will be going back soon! Thanks guys read more

Is ok the place needs to update their product, isn't the same as it was before. And the other issue is some of the nail techs talking without stopping, instead to focus on what they are doing read more

Terrible job at gel nails I got a gel manicure and toenail polish change this morning at Galaxy. I am sitting at the airport now waiting for my flight to Dallas for a wedding and my entire thumb nail polish is peeling off! I left there at 1:40. It is now 4:30. $30 plus $5 tip and I'm going to have to get my nail fixed when I get there. Very disappointing. My first and LAST time at this nail salon. read more

Galaxy Nails - Peeling gel manicure! - Nail Salons Near Me - Kansas City, Missouri

I've been here a few times before and always had decent service. Today was awful! I had a new kid who didn't even give me a massage. He polished my nails with the mask still on so had to re-wet my legs and nails to get it off. He struggled so hard with Saran Wrap it took him 30 mins to get it off the spool. He was so new and scared they had to talk him through the whole pedicure. My polish looks worse than if a child did it. The girl walking him through it kept yelling at him in Vietnamese. My polish is all over my cuticles!! The owner guy came over and finished polishing my nails. The kid even put on toe separators after I was polished. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and have done mani/pedis for years, I'm beginning to wonder if this kid is even a licensed nail tech. I understand everyone has to start somewhere, but practice on people, not customers! Thinking this kid needs to find a new profession or practice more before he hurts someone. Will not be back. Time to find a new place read more

I was very happy with my first visit to this salon. My nails looked beautiful and the service was friendly. My second time was a nightmare. I had a different stylist. She was not friendly, incredibly slow, not gentle and very messy. My french nail looked like a child had painted it. I was requesting a french nail with regular polish, but this is something I would think any nail stylist could handle. I ended up asking her to completely take off the polish and just do a solid color. In total I was there 1.5 hours and paid the full price of a manicure that I didn't even want at that point. The solid color wasn't even smooth because there was residue left behind from the french. I know this is not every stylist in the salon because I had a great first time. I do remember someone complaining about the lady I had the 2nd time so hopefully she is no longer working there. It's a hit or miss with this place! read more

I love this place. Eli is my favorite not only is he good at what he does. He's hilarious!!

I love the service at this nail salon. I see Kim as often as possible because she takes time with her customers. I love getting the spa pedicure because Kim always does an amazing job of carefully cutting my toenails and the foot & leg massage is amazing. In addition to the spa pedicure, I've had gel manicures, and eyebrow waxed. All of the services are very professional and the employees work hard to please their customers. read more

I went to galaxy nails on Friday. I got a dip manicure..let me say it lasted maybe a hour. My 5 year old niece does a better job! I wouldn't even bring my dog there. My nails are all uneven and all different lengths and shapes. Even after I ask her to even them out! She got her file and barley touched them! They have also already chipped!!! The first chip was a crack in the thumb that happened a hour after I left. The lady doing my nails took forever because should wouldn't stop talking which is fine but every time she spoke she stopped doing my nails!! I will never recommend this place nor every step foot back in there. Ladies beware!! If you want a hack job this is the place to go!!!! read more

Got Kayla this time. She did my nails, eyebrows and lip. I feel pretty, oh so pretty!! Will be back in two weeks.

To start off I wanted to write this review and update it because I remember that at the time I didn't really know a lot about nails but now that I know and I've got a more professional nail artist they have done my nails I'm going to say that this was totally a zero star because they charged me $54 for chunky nails that I will never go to again I don't know how people wanna go there I should've clarified the lady I know I should've but I didn't know at the time how to say I am gladly going to say that I will not come here ever again it is not a professional place trust me the first time that I got them done they actually charge me around $55 and they were semi-OK but the second time that I went there with my sister it was not good it was $54 for these really raggedy nails that are ratchet I don't like them at all and I'm sorry for whoever is reading this but I'm not exaggerating please don't waste your money here ever!. read more

After visiting several shops in the Kansas City/Overland Park/Lenexa Area, I've come to the realization These Nail shops are a Rip Off. The lights are so in these places that unless you have glasses on (which I will from now on) you don't see ALL the imperfections in their work. They are so nice and promise you a good job just to distract you and the minute you buy into their Bull and get comfortable they go in for the kill. We feel sorry for them so we say nothing thank them and tip for horrible service and walk away because we know that if we have one single complaint that's the End of a somewhat good thing and we have to move on, which is Never easy. They take advantage of Us because they feel like we have so much but a lot of us do not and work Hard for that dollar. We have to Stop being dependant on them which is what they count on and Our laziness and vanity. We should start Boycotting these establishments that don't feel we deserve their very Best! They are Robbing our pockets, minds, bodies and spirits with this manipulation of theirs. It's Insanity if you really think about it! I'm sitting her now with a messed up pedi and mani, upset going back tomorrow because the shop I went to promised to fix it, Even though I don't want to but I'm not going to get a refund and I just don't have the time right now to look for another salon. Like I said Insanity ! We think we really have to have it but we don't. Gotta keep saying it until we believe it. read more

Customer service was awesome! I came in at a very busy time but I was in a chair after about 5 minutes. Left with my nails looking great and feeling good after a nice experience. Will definitely be back! (I had to double check this was the right place I went to after looking at the other reviews but I definitely recommend trying this place out!) read more

Ahhhh my feet feel fabulous today, even after a long week of being on my feet. I've NEVA EVA had a less than 5 star experience here. Everyone at the shop is great, but Brian is the man. I'm in for gels and a pedicure every couple weeks and damn he's good! So thorough about everything. Even the basic pedicure is over an hour without skimping on the massage. I'm not complaining! Salon is always clean and you see them bring over fresh tools that are disinfected for each service. No need to worry about lovely bacteria that live in other questionable salons.. So go git your nails did and ask for Brian! read more

The ladies at Galaxy, treat everyone with the greatest respect. Being a guy and walking into a Nail Salon can be intimidating, but we have our needs to. The staff here were great and helpful and never made me feel out of place. read more

I used to love coming here to get my nails and wax done but overtime the women that work here have become so rude. They always pressure you for more services and when you say no they give you a dirty look and proceed to speak to the other employees in another language making the customer feel guilty and uncomfortable. I'll definitely be looking for another salon to get my nails and eyebrows done. Also they don't do liquid gel nails even though it's listed on their menu. And if you ask for gel nails they slap on acrylics, put a gel polish over it and charge you an additional $15 for the "gel nails". read more

No stars! Their nail polish selection was old and cracking. They would not stop bugging us about getting other services, after we told them no at least five times. They rushed through the appointment and our manicures were chipped by the end of the day. There were no other customers when we were there so I'm not sure what the big rush was. read more

We had high hopes because this salon was recommended to me by 2 people. Outcome was extremely disappointing. My pedicure was the fastest pedicure I've ever had and done in 10 minutes, my feet don't feel or look like I've even had a pedicure. My sister in law and daughter both also got pedi's and gel manicures. My sister had to have them take the polish off and file her toenails because they did not do that and the paint looked terrible. Their paint choices were very limited and seemed old, we ran across several colors that were dried out and when they were painting our toes the polish kept needing acetone added to it. My daughters gel manicure is streaky, bumpy and she has paint over some of her cuticles. Overall, limited paint color choices, old paint, Service was not very friendly and seemed rushed, also the staff did not speak English at all and seem to really struggle to understand anything you were telling them or saying. I would highly recommend never going there again! Terrible experience. read more

Get my gel tips done there every two weeks. Ladies are quick and efficient. Also do the waxing and pedicure every two weeks. No complaints whatsoever. Glad my boss recommended them. I will be a faithful customer. read more

I absolutely hated this place. I had an appointment set, and I didn't get in until 25 minutes later, I asked for a basic gel mani and basic is what I got. She didn't even file my nails, or do any cuticle care and the polish was horrible, didn't last two days on my nails. I've had gel manicures before so I know how to take care of my gel nails too. Never going back. And they don't have very clean instruments either. They reuse everything and don't wash in between used, I witnessed that myself. read more

I went to get my nails done with my friend. I had called ahead and made an apt at 6, they close at 7:30. The nail tech who did my nails did pretty good as far as the service but he was a little unprofessional towards the end. We were at a stage in the dip manicure process where I didn't know if he was finished but he pulled out his phone and his earbuds and processed to play around on it. I had to ask him two separate times if he was done, both responses being 'no'. I didn't like the lack of communication there. My friend's nails turned out pretty decent as well but the tech was a little too rough not paying attention to detail, burning her cuticles several times with the drill. Meanwhile, another tech decides to have a very loud FaceTime conversation with someone while sitting right next to us. I understand we were the last customers in the shop but it seemed they were done with us and ready to get us out the door even though we were still within business hours. read more

My best friend and I have a thing with getting our toes done. And quite frankly, I know very few women who don't. So the other day when we were looking for a good new place to get ours pampered, we ran across this little gem and gave it a chance - and we are VERY glad that we did. We were greeted immediately as we came in, and were seeted in the pedicure room as soon as we picked out our polish colors. The employees are welcoming and friendly and talked to us while they worked. I think what I liked most about this place was the atmosphere and the welcoming employees. The salon itself is well kept, beautiful and comfortable with a great playlist playing in the background - of which my friend and I sang to on several occasions during our visit. Overall, our visit took about an hour, they did custom designs on our toes and all for a really fair price - cheaper than our last pedicures and by far better! I will definitely be coming back! read more

I went into the salon the day before I was heading to Florida for vacation. I got a manicure and a pedicure. While on the beach, my manicure came completely off. Additionally, my pedicure chipped. I hardly had the polish on for 4 days before this happened. I'm very dissatisfied with how my nails were done. read more

Went in on 5/31/17 for a full set with French tip and a gel polish top coat. Had to go back 6/2/17 because they were chipping away from the base of my real nail. Neither time did either of the ladies actually listen to what I had to say or to what I wanted. Will never be going back read more

got my nails done here three days ago. I didnt want acrylic nails just my own nails painted. I also wanted to try gel polish. although everyone was nice I was not satisfied with my nails. each person kept pressuring me to get acrylic nails and kept saying gel polish doesnt work on regular nails. so I ended up just getting my regular nails painted without gel polish. three days and chipped nail polish. will not be going here anytime soon. read more

They did not listen to what I wanted and when they did the design wrong and I told her I didn't like it she looked at another employee with this look like she was pissed even though if she would have listened to what I was asking we wouldn't have had that problem.
