Never again! I paid $55 dollars for dIpped nails. I was extremely tired that morning got home took a nap and looked at my nails. They looked awful. The looked like I needed a fill on some nails others were really thick. I called back spoke with Eli who told me to come back but I was going out of town that evening and wouldn't be back for 2 weeks. He said when I get back to call and make an with him. Something happened while I was out of town so I couldn't come back on until a few days ago I called today he says it's been too long. He can only give me 25% off my service. The nails looked so bad I took them off the day after I made it to my out of town destination because People kept saying "I see it's time for you to get a fill". I hope their poor customer service was worth losing a customer. This was my 3rd visit. I had recently started getting my nails done because I loved the dipped powder and thought this was going to be my regular place. Sunday was my first time going to Galaxy Nails and I was impressed. First off the man running the fro were very personable on the phone and in person. Offered me a beverage shortly after entering. I had my pedicure first. I felt so pampered and relaxed, they made sure I had a little fan on me and she really took her time on my feet. The lovely gal's name was Sandy. She had a gentle hand when it needed to be gentle and firm when it came to the massage. I got the French tips and she did a great job! I then was taken to the other side to have my nails filled. The nail techs name was Jenny and she gave we exactly what I wanted! Shape and color is perfect. Our conversation was enjoyable and the serves was amazing! I've been here a few times before and always had decent service. Today was awful! I had a new kid who didn't even give me a massage. He polished my nails with the mask still on so had to re-wet my legs and nails to get it off. He struggled so hard with Saran Wrap it took him 30 mins to get it off the spool. He was so new and scared they had to talk him through the whole pedicure. My polish looks worse than if a child did it. The girl walking him through it kept yelling at him in Vietnamese. My polish is all over my cuticles!! The owner guy came over and finished polishing my nails. The kid even put on toe separators after I was polished. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and have done mani/pedis for years, I'm beginning to wonder if this kid is even a licensed nail tech. I understand everyone has to start somewhere, but practice on people, not customers! Thinking this kid needs to find a new profession or practice more before he hurts someone. Will not be back. I was very happy with my first visit to this salon. My nails looked beautiful and the service was friendly. My second time was a nightmare. I had a different stylist. She was not friendly, incredibly slow, not gentle and very messy. My french nail looked like a child had painted it. I was requesting a french nail with regular polish, but this is something I would think any nail stylist could handle. I ended up asking her to completely take off the polish and just do a solid color. In total I was there 1.5 hours and paid the full price of a manicure that I didn't even want at that point. The solid color wasn't even smooth because there was residue left behind from the french. I know this is not every stylist in the salon because I had a great first time. I do remember someone complaining about the lady I had the 2nd time so hopefully she is no longer working there. It's a hit or miss with this place! read more

I love getting the spa pedicure because Kim always does an amazing job of carefully cutting my toenails and the foot & leg massage is amazing. I went to galaxy nails on Friday. I got a dip manicure..let me say it lasted maybe a hour. My 5 year old niece does a better job! I wouldn't even bring my dog there. My nails are all uneven and all different lengths and shapes. Even after I ask her to even them out! She got her file and barley touched them! They have also already chipped!!! The first chip was a crack in the thumb that happened a hour after I left. The lady doing my nails took forever because should wouldn't stop talking which is fine but every time she spoke she stopped doing my nails!! I came here to Kansas to visit my mom for vacation an I forgot to do my eyebrows an let me tell you sisters my eyebrows looked like a rose bush, so I needed them done ASAP!! After visiting several shops in the Kansas City/Overland Park/Lenexa Area, I've come to the realization These Nail shops are a Rip Off. The lights are so in these places that unless you have glasses on (which I will from now on) you don't see ALL the imperfections in their work. Ahhhh my feet feel fabulous today, even after a long week of being on my feet. I've NEVA EVA had a less than 5 star experience here. Everyone at the shop is great, but Brian is the man. I'm in for gels and a pedicure every couple weeks and damn he's good! So thorough about everything. Even the basic pedicure is over an hour without skimping on the massage. I'm not complaining! Salon is always clean and you see them bring over fresh tools that are disinfected for each service. No need to worry about lovely bacteria that live in other questionable salons.. I used to love coming here to get my nails and wax done but overtime the women that work here have become so rude. They always pressure you for more services and when you say no they give you a dirty look and proceed to speak to the other employees in another language making the customer feel guilty and uncomfortable. I'll definitely be looking for another salon to get my nails and eyebrows done. Also they don't do liquid gel nails even though it's listed on their menu. We had high hopes because this salon was recommended to me by 2 people. Outcome was extremely disappointing. My pedicure was the fastest pedicure I've ever had and done in 10 minutes, my feet don't feel or look like I've even had a pedicure. My sister in law and daughter both also got pedi's and gel manicures. My sister had to have them take the polish off and file her toenails because they did not do that and the paint looked terrible. Their paint choices were very limited and seemed old, we ran across several colors that were dried out and when they were painting our toes the polish kept needing acetone added to it. My daughters gel manicure is streaky, bumpy and she has paint over some of her cuticles. Overall, limited paint color choices, old paint, Service was not very friendly and seemed rushed, also the staff did not speak English at all and seem to really struggle to understand anything you were telling them or saying. I went to get my nails done with my friend. I had called ahead and made an apt at 6, they close at 7:30. The nail tech who did my nails did pretty good as far as the service but he was a little unprofessional towards the end. We were at a stage in the dip manicure process where I didn't know if he was finished but he pulled out his phone and his earbuds and processed to play around on it. I had to ask him two separate times if he was done, both responses being 'no'. I didn't like the lack of communication there. My friend's nails turned out pretty decent as well but the tech was a little too rough not paying attention to detail, burning her cuticles several times with the drill. Meanwhile, another tech decides to have a very loud FaceTime conversation with someone while sitting right next to us. I understand we were the last customers in the shop but it seemed they were done with us and ready to get us out the door even though we were still within business hours. read more

I absolutely hated this place. I had an appointment set, and I didn't get in until 25 minutes later, I asked for a basic gel mani and basic is what I got. She didn't even file my nails, or do any cuticle care and the polish was horrible, didn't last two days on my nails. I've had gel manicures before so I know how to take care of my gel nails too. Never going back. And they don't have very clean instruments either. They reuse everything and don't wash in between used, I witnessed that myself. read more

My best friend and I have a thing with getting our toes done. And quite frankly, I know very few women who don't. So the other day when we were looking for a good new place to get ours pampered, we ran across this little gem and gave it a chance - and we are VERY glad that we did. We were greeted immediately as we came in, and were seeted in the pedicure room as soon as we picked out our polish colors. The employees are welcoming and friendly and talked to us while they worked. I think what I liked most about this place was the atmosphere and the welcoming employees. The salon itself is well kept, beautiful and comfortable with a great playlist playing in the background - of which my friend and I sang to on several occasions during our visit.
