I visited this salon on Saturday for my first appointment, booking builder gel fill and a pedicure…read more The Builder Gel fill was generally fine, but I was surprised to be charged an extra $5 for an "almond shape" at time of checkout (after my pedicure). I was never asked what shape I wanted or informed there would be an additional fee. The shape was simply done, and the charge appeared on my bill. I questioned it and it was removed, but it still felt like something that should have been communicated upfront. The pedicure experience was more concerning. During gel removal, it was discovered that my big toenail was damaged, with the nail blackened and lifting at the top. Because of this, polish could not be applied, which was disappointing as that was the main service I came in for. I had originally selected the $45 (base level) pedicure, but was told I needed the $50 option for callus removal. Which, was just the sponge the pedicure kit came with. Wouldn't this have been included in the base level pedicure, too? Overall, the pedicure felt rushed and clinical rather than relaxing. My feet were repeatedly saturated with alcohol throughout the pedicure and the experience made me feel like a science project rather than a spa service. Obviously, the alcohol left my feet dry. She kept focusing on cleaning around her throughout the service, instead of focusing on my pedicure. I felt uncomfortable the entire time. At checkout, I was still charged the $50 price despite not receiving polish. When I questioned this, I was told the $50 rate applies regardless, even though I had been told earlier that the higher price was specifically required for the "callus"treatment. As a first-time customer, I left feeling that additional charges and pricing details were not clearly communicated until after services were completed. While I understand services have costs, I expect transparency around pricing and add-ons upfront. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of clarity around additional charges and the pedicure experience. It felt like you're being nickel and dimed the entire time.
