I am not sure if this is the same place, I was looking for Q Nails and the address lead me to a KC Nails. So this review is for KC Nails, at this same address. I asked for the Special Spa pedicure. I am not reallt sure what the difference is between the Special and Regular Spa pedicure but it was $10 more. The pedicure was adequate, nothing special but atleast the message chair worked, which is better than some places. 2 hours after my pedicure I changed out of my flio flops and put on socks and shoes. That evening when I took off my shoes, the polish was rubbed on on several toes. The next day my pink toe was irratated and I noticed that it had been cut. read more

One day after I worked out next door at Anytime Fitness, I got a great pedicure here with a free glass (or rather glasses) of wine. The lady who gave it to me is in medical school and was very nice and talented. The quality of the service was very high and I was pleased with the result. I like that the nail studio is very large. I didn't get that claustro feeling here like I get at some places that are jammed with nail stations. The clientele were very nice and very accepting of the presence of a man getting his feet done. It's just good hygiene to get all the dead skin off your feet at least once a quarter. You will find your feet will stink less and you will have less problems with your feet. I recommend this place. If I am in town again and need one I will get my feet done again here. read more

My 10-year-old daughter and I went to this salon for the first time yesterday and we arrived about 30 minutes before they closed. The customer service and atmosphere war far more superb than most salons that I've been to in KC. They really took their time, even on my daughter. Her nail tech's name was Kim and she was super sweet and extremely thorough. I typically find a pedicure to be a waste of money for a small child, but not this one! Her Royals themed toes looked perfectly manicured and the design on her big toe was perfect. My pedicure was fantastic as well; I almost fell asleep. I also received a French manicure with gel polish and I didn't really like the way it was turning out b/c I'm very particular about the width of the white polish. The nail tech called Thomas over and he was able to do exactly what I wanted. We were still there an hour and a half after they closed b/c they took the time to really care about what I wanted. The staff gathered around us and we were all talking and having a good time. They were all so friendly and patient. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

If you're into facial torture that you have to pay for there is a lady that will fix your eyebrows in the most painful way possible. Granted, the results have been great but I think she secretly takes pleasure in watching me squirm. One day I stopped by to find one person manning the place. He gave a relaxing pedicure only in the way that he did a lot of massage? He didn't really care about the other steps. His version of a pedicure was exactly what someone who wasn't really sure about what a pedicure was would give you. Any other of the 3 pedis I've gotten here were by the book. I love the decor here, although I am disappointed that they don't do massage anymore. But the people are nice and the prices are on average what you would pay for any mani/pedi in the city. read more

On a Saturday morning recently, I found myself needing a pedicure and manicure. My husband & I were to attend a wedding at 6:30 pm and my procrastination had led me to desperation! On Friday morning I called & made a 5:30 pm appointment with another establishment, which I will not name and arrived at 5:25 pm after work and left after waiting for almost 25 minutes. I am not fond of waiting if I have an appointment. However, having said that-I found myself in the "walk- in" situation the next morning unless i wanted to attend the wedding with ragged cuticles and two week old pink toe polish that i slapped on myself as a result of unseasonably warm temps. So I decided to try Q Nails on the recommendation of my husband's hairstylist, who told me that is where she goes. I called around 10:15 am and was told I could come in anytime that day so I arrived at 11:30 ready to wait for my pedi and gel nails. To my surprise, a young lady started on my nails immediately! I had a French gel nail manicure done, which turned out fantastic. As soon as she finished that she took me to the pedicure bath and she also did my pedi and helped me choose a snazzy color, sort of a silvery purple. Her name was Sophia and I will ask for her upon return visits because I will be returning. I was very happy with my experience there and although I would probably not be as happy with a few of the other nail technicians there, I was very satisfied with my experience with Sophia. She was very gentle with the tools and massage and asked if anything was painful. Plus, she was very sincere in her chat with me an seemed to ask genuine questions and listen when I answered. But if I just wanted to put my head back and enjoy, she would be fine with that too. I have found my nail spa! read more

My daughter arrived a bit before closing on a bitterly cold Thursday. The place was packed with both clients and staff--usually a good sign. Within half an hour, the place was empty and the 'new girl' assigned to us was on her own except for a manager who was clearly there to close up. To say she was inexperienced is an understatement. Nearly 2 1/2 hours of mani-peti later we left with a marginally better mani that the two week old one she came in with. To her credit, the tech did apologize for the time, but because it was closing time, I was asked to pay in advance so they could close the register. I may not have been so generous with my tip if I had paid at the end. I see many good reviews. Just don't hit them late in the day is apparently the lesson of the day. read more

Not being fans of planning ahead, L. and I set out to find a place that could fit our needs with cheap, walk-in spa pedicures. We were all set to go around to different salons to find the best price, but $25 for a spa pedicure had us sold immediately! We went in around 3pm on a Wednesday and had absolutely no wait. The massage chairs are fairly comfy, the people are nice, and my feet look fantastic. I started coming here this spring. I only get pedicures and they are great. Good service for a good price. The pedicures start at $25. I'm quite satisfied with this basic pedicure; I don't feel like I'm missing anything. The technicians take their time; they're very conscientious. I leave with pretty toes and feet. I've started getting gel polish on my toes. This wears much better and extends the pedicure. I can go 4 weeks and my toes look great. If I go to 6 weeks the polish looks good but you can see how much my nail has grown out. It's a $25 additional charge but I feel it's well worth it. If I can spend $50 for a pedicure that looks great for a month, I feel like I've gotten a great deal. read more

My friend and I first went here probably two years ago because we wanted to get a pedicure before going back to college. We didn't have much experience in choosing a salon so we picked on that was close to the house and that wasn't to expensive. When we came in that first time I expected to wait about twenty minutes and we didn't have to wait but five with no appointments. Hidden gem! My BF brought me here for my birthday & I just had the BEST pedicure. I've managed a salon/spa so I consider myself fairly particular. My toes are decadently clean! Top, sides, underneath, cuticles... I'm in heaven. Plus the massages and scrubs were five star as well! This topped most pedicures I've had and was $25 for the spa pedi. The new owners do not honor their product and services. They encouraged me to pay the higher price for the new SNS nails. The top coat was coming off in a few days. They filed the top coat off and applied more. The result was faded color and mismatched nails. They had two chances. I requested a refund and they would not give me one saying it was my fault and the polish was not coming off. They did offer to try again, but after the unprofessional way I was treated, I no longer want them touching my nails. read more

My daughter and I went there on Saturday and both had the sugar scrub pedi with a "design". She had a picture on her phone of toes that were all painted red, except the big toe was painted white with blue horizontal stripes and a red anchor in the middle. Both of the techs doing our nails said it was no problem. Then, my girl painted the blue stripes (very haphazardly) and in the center puts a large heart that looked like something a 5 year old would draw. I was stunned. She started speaking in Chinese then, pretending that she hadn't understood my request. A conversation between her and another tech continued for another 5 minutes, obviously about my request, but none of it was in English, of course. The tech was angry to say the least. I had felt like she was rushing from about 20 minutes into the pedi because one of her "regulars" came in. Now another tech came and took the polish off my big toes and I thought things would be okay at that point. To my dismay, the original angry, bad attitude tech came and REpainted crooked stripes AGAIN. If all of this weren't bad enough, that pedi was $50...the manager, who observed this catastrophe, tells me that she would only charge me $3 for nail design... Wait...what??? I wish I had taken a picture to post but I came home and repainted my toes better that I paid $50 to have them painted. Oh yeah, the manager said the lines were crooked because I had small nails... LOL... Did she seriously see that on Anjelah Johnsons nail comedy routine?? Epic fail for service, pedicure and management . We will never give them our business/money again! read more

I am starting to get minorly obssessed with this place. If you get your nails done a lot, you know that the main objective is usually to get people in and out and can sometimes make you feel like cattle. To get a relaxing experience, with good quality techs can often be very pricey. I have had my nails done twice here so far and plan to go back. Both nail techs were very nice, not too chatty but that's fine with me. They take their time and do good work. The first time I just had a polish change. Their polish change included clipping, filing, and pushing back cuticles which is nice because the other ones I get don't usually do that. Next time I went in for a manicure with gel and a pedicure. My nail tech was Ashley, and she did a GREAT job on my gel manicure. I've had gel before where the didn't get close to the cuticle, it chipped the first week, and was overall not worth the extra 10-20 bucks you pay for the service. It did take a little longer but her attention to detail made it worth it. I then got a pedicure. I had a different tech who wasn't quite as good. To be fair though, I was running low on time and she had to rush my pedicure. I got the basic pedicure but the lady next to me had a sugar scrub, which they offered her wine with which I thought was nice, too. The total for the mani with gel and the pedi was $52.00. I've seen gel alone run in to that and with lower quality work, so that made me VERY happy! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the decor is a bit shabby. It always looks like they are in the middle of remodeling. The sanitizing equipment and the fridge holding the wine are in the middle of the floor. Also, the techs were eating lunch at the counter while I was paying. There is a sign asking not to put the tip on the cards since it takes a percentage. I get it but it's a little tacky, too. If they fixed a few of these things, I think it could be a real luxury place but then they might start charging more so in the end I can totally deal with these minor issues! read more

My first trip I got a pedicure from a woman that seemed angry and kept yelling at the other staff, it did not make for a relaxing experience. Highly disappointed. Went there with a friend during holiday season and had an okay experience and went back today. Will never go back. Had to ask 3 times for them to put hot water in foot bath, and it still was less than luke warm. She spoke such bad English and I agreed to a higher charged pedicure and she didn't perform all the services. Then I said no to color on manicure, just wanted her to buff my nails. That was a mistake - got up charged $2, which has never happened to me before - and when I pointed out areas she missed she mumbled something like it was "inside" my nail, but I sit here tonight and it driving me crazy to see all the scratches on my fingernails she put there, but didn't buff out. But the knew owner showed total disrespect towards me and another customer! I went to Q nails for the first time yesterday, out of convenience, and I think I have a new go to salon. I used to swear by another salon (that I've also done a Yelp review for), but it's a bit far from my house and with all of the Black Friday traffic I did not have the patience to make that trip. I called around to a few salons in the area to find out the price of a full set of acrylics and decided on Q Nails. Mei was my technician and she did an amazing job! I always have a picture ready because I like interesting designs and she didn't even need to see it for my art to be spot on. Each one of my nails is even, sanded to perfection, and there's no stray acrylic on the insides which are all problems I've had at other salons. My only gripes are about the selection of colors (there are a lot of reds and pinks, but a nude was extremely hard to find), and the time it took (2 and a half hours, but she was extremely meticulous). I will definitely be going back to Mei in the future. read more

Awful experience. The manicurist cut my cuticles three times so bad that they bled. My nail shape is totally random - none of my nails match and the worst part is that I'm positive she burned me with the gel nail UV bed! I'll be going to get these fix/removed immediately although if my nails were burnt during this process I'm not sure there is a lot I can to reverse the damage or pain. I've been coming to this place since high school (10 yrs) back when they were next to mr. Goodcents. The owners kevin and his wife are so nice and do quality work. But ever since they left (the wife has become a dr and Kevin takes care of their son full time) and let one of the girls take over the quality of work has gone down and the prices have gone up. The man doing my nails was difficult to understand. He did not ask me what I wanted for nail shape and length rather told me . I told him what color I wanted and I received a completely different color. But, I had a different lady do my nails this time and it was awful once again. My whole nail is not even painted, and very poorly painted at that. This place is hit or miss. It's a definite miss if you don't schedule an appointment AND don't ask for a specific person. Go at slow times like Mon - Wed evenings, before 7pm, and ask for Kevin or Thomas ONLY. Those names are vital for satisfaction. Also if the older gentleman is available for pedicures he's exceptional! But beware if you like length on your toenails because he's clipper happy. Even when I told him not to cut my nails down he still filed them down to close to nothing. So go to Thomas for a pedicure if you like length. He and Kevin speak and understand English perfectly. If I walk in and can't get either one of them that day I will ask them to translate what I want for me. That helps... Still won't feel as good as when they do it themselves but at least it won't be the worst job ever! There are two female doctors there if you need help or have health questions ask for them.
