I would give a negative if I could. Food is expensive and not that good. I didn't find out the price of four chicken tenders until I had to pay because the paper menu from the people taking orders on the drive through don't have prices.this place sucks!!!! read more

I lived in Chicago for twenty years and love Portillos. I'm happy that I can go to the market street franchise only 4 miles from my new home in Gilbert. I was disappointed as my beef sandwich didn't have any peppers or any Giardiniera for that matter. My cheese croissant was on a regular bun w no cheese in the sandwich. This was my first time at a portillo's and honestly I was blown away! I was wary at first because it is always crowded and has long lines, but now I know why! The food is incredible for being a 'quick-service.' We had a wide range from the Italian beef to the chili dog and there wasn't a single complaint we had! The service was efficient and effective and it was CROWDED but you could never tell because they kept on top of cleaning the dinning room and the good energy rolling. Overall we will 1000% be back, honestly probably later this week :) read more

What a great upbeat place to order a hot dog and other goodies! Service with a smile! You can tell the employees love their jobs! Their menu is very reasonable. We went on opening weekend so we knew we would have a wait. We arrived around 11:45 and the end of the line was at the door. We were very impressed with how fast we got to the front of the line and how fast the food came out. Total wait time from back of line to getting our food was about 25 minutes. My issue today is, I do not have time to go over there and pick up a menu, and all I want is someone to e-mail me a menu with the prices on it, however, this appears to be too difficult? Unacceptable Food... Super Excited that they opened a Portillos in Gilbert! It was pretty empty last night, thought nothing of it. I ordered my usual #3 and was disappointed that my patty was dry with burnt edges. My fries were not that great either. I was too hungry to complain and wait for another. they clearly don't know what a croissant is. I ordered the beef and cheddar cheese on croissant. croissants are light flaky pastry, not a generic heavy bun that I got. I had to search for the cheese, and the whole sandwich was dry and tasteless. big disappointment. read more

Made a multiple item order, because someone walked up and was taking my order instead of letting me look at the menu I did not realize the kind of high pricing so when I paid it seemed like it was for what I ordered - instead I got to the window and after all the time in line and got one item which was not either of the things I wanted and was told sorry and I really did feel pushed out of the way as though they would not ever fix an order as clearly was the case here. I made a point to drive out to this location and I will now be limiting my Portillos experience to the Tempe location and very infrequently due to its distance. Needless to say I will not be driving through this Gilbert Portillos or willingly paying out of my own pocket ever again at this location. Also, the Italian beef I got which I did not order and it was stated by the window as another item -- it did not meet taste expectations. It takes a lot out of me to even bother leaving a review so this absolutely left an impression. read more

We went through the drive through then crossed the street to eat in the Walmart parking lot. Both our hot dogs had soggy buns and the fries were so salty even after brushing them off with napkins they were inedible. The only decent thing was the eclair cake desert. Two hot dogs, one fry and two eclair deserts for $26. We agreed we would only go back for their desert. read more

I'm giving this place 1 star, because it doesn't deserve a higher ranking than that. The cheeseburger wasn't even mediocre. It was charred patty, with unmelted cheese. Old looking lettuce. I only tried the chili cheese fries... they are covered in liquid cheese, but they tasted so good. This item was listed on the allergen menu. I have a gluten intolerance and did not get sick. Portillo's is the best restaurant recently opened in Gilbert, hands down. Everything on this menu is delicious, and you have to try a little bit of everything. Spicy chicken sandwich is our favorite along with the chili cheese dog. Burgers are amazing and Italian beefs' are so dang tender (gravy is a must - which is just au jus :). We advise ordering a bunch of everything and splitting it - as you can't just order one thing here, and be satisfied. Customers for life now since they opened one up in Gilbert, AZ! read more

Disappointed to say the least. They used to serve fresh brewed iced tea but some big shot with the Equity Fund that owns them decided that the chemically produced garbage that is dispensed from the same machine as coke and sprite is just as good as fresh brewed iced tea. First time here and Food and customer service was excellent. You can taste the quality in the ingredients. I had the Italian beef sandwich it was full with meat they didn't skimp. My wife had the Chicago dogs the tomato's and pickles were fresh and crisp. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. read more

I just ordered Portillo's and I am so disappointed with how the Gilbert. AZ location treats disabled people. I placed an order through the app and selected "pick-up" because the drive-through was not an option. When I arrived, I informed the drive through attendant that I had an online order. He told me to proceed and inform the attendant at the window that I had an online order. While waiting, he approached my car, and he informed me that I needed to go inside to pick up my order. I explained that it was difficult for me to get in and out of my car due to hip surgery, and I was happy to wait through the drive-through line. He then told me to pull up to the pick-up door, and someone would bring my order out. The attendant who brought my order out rudely said to me, "we will bring this out to you this time. (Snotty emphasis on this time). But from now on, you have to come in and pick it up." Thinking of a loved one who is a paraplegic and wheelchair bound, I asked her, "what are disabled people supposed to do if they can't walk into your store?" She said, "order from doordash. DoorDash is always an option. We will not bring things out to your car." Protillo's you need to hire more kind and considerate people. Also, please consider making "drive thru" a pick-up option so that the employees don't have to be so confused. read more

Came to Portillo's for first time. To start, the drive through menu's given to us had no prices, little weird but not a show stopper. The price for 3 people to eat came to $64 - little steep for fast food and surprising since we again didn't know prices (they may be on menu boards, but orders were being taken way back in line). When we were given our bag of food, I started checking it to see if we had everything. Girls at drive through were a little miffed assuring us we had everything. Get home (15 + minute drive) and we don't have everything. Call and head back, and we were treated poorly, treated as if we were wanting free food - which wasn't the case we only wanted hot food. Bottom line, the food was cold and soggy and the service was poor. Not going back, too many other local businesses who provide good service. Disappointing to say the least. read more
