Chicago Dog

Great service, friendly and helpful. Cash only! Exactly what we were looking for. Yummmy!!

I've heard of this place by so many people. At first I was sort of scared... it looks like it's a closed down trailer home. Dumb, naive me should have realized places like that are always delicious. A "Hole in the wall", respectfully. It's basically a food truck with a more permanent building. It's definitely nothing fancy, but it gets the job done! The staff was very friendly and quick to get my order out. I ordered a variety of hot dogs such as Bagel Dog & Corn Dog, and an order of Chili Cheese Fries. The food was delicious. The corn dog, especially, was so juicy and crispy! I'll definitely be back sometime soon. Don't judge a book (restaurant) by its cover!

I love supporting family owned small businesses and I've gone here several times already. My favorite is the chilli cheese tamales. It's such good comfort food. I also like the Chicago style polish sausage. Simple and tasty. The folks are always friendly and when the weather is cool, we like to eat at one of the outside tables.

They underfilled the fry bag - not cool

How many times have I driven past the little hut with the hot dog on top? Well, today was the day to try them out. Overall it was a fairly good experience. It has a small, modest interior with only eight or nine tables. There are also a few tables outside where you can dine. They only take cash. My husband and I could both get hot dogs, drinks and share some fries for $20 which isn't bad these days. I liked everything about my chili cheese dog. It was fresh, served hot and the toppings were generous. My only major gripe was that they robbed us on the fries, not coming close to filling up the bag. A bummer, considering we were sharing. I think we agreed it was worth going back to Higley Hot Dog Hut if we were in the mood for a good Chicago style hot dog though. (We'll just check the fries next time...)

Great locally owned Arizona gem! Always have to come by when we are in town. Amazing service and wonderful employees who are kind and willing to help answer any questions! The fries are crisp and fresh! Their polish dogs are tasty and all the toppings are fresh. Great place to stop by for a hot dog!

Stopped in at the Higley Hot Dog Hut. Native Chicagoans who moved to the desert and opened a hot dog joint. unpretentious, not trying to rework anything. Just a great Chicago Dog at a reasonable price.

Your true mom and pops shop! They've been here since 1986. Haven't updated the decor or accepted a credit card since! I love these gems. The hot dogs are good. Nothing mind blowing, other than adding the peppers and all the fixings on top. The Italian beef was great, super tender. Fries are great! Even the chicken nuggets were awesome.

Best hot dogs and fries! An icon of a restaurant. Had not changed much in decades; which I love.

Great dog. Love Chicago trimmings. Next time I'll try the chilly dog. They had many types to choose from. Nice prices. Not expensive at all.

I have a very high bar for chili dogs. I'm originally from Los Angeles, where Tommy's Burgers…read moreserves what I consider the greatest chili dog of all time. After moving to Arizona, I struggled to find anything close, until Dog Haus. This one comes seriously close, and honestly, dare I say...it might even edge it out slightly. The bun is incredible. The chili sauce is perfectly seasoned. The cheese is piled on generously, and the light onions on top finish it off just right. Pure perfection. I should've gone with the onion rings since they never disappoint here, but I was trying to be a little healthy and balanced things out with the sweet potato fries, which were genuinely delicious. And the cold beer on tap is the cherry on top. I'll always recommend the Cali Creamin', one of my favorites on their tap list. If you're chasing that LA chili dog feeling in the East Valley, Dog Haus Gilbert delivers. Highly recommend. And I'm not even going to get into their other hot dog options, which are an 11 out of 10.

When you scan it, it lets them know your table. One of the employees brought us waters & I asked about the cocktails. I asked if they had Tito's & cranberry juice. He was very friendly & brought us menus. He said they have a full bar & he would put the drinks on our bill. Hubby got his favorite beer on draft, Dosexis. I got what I asked for. Hubby ordered the Das Brat. Which is a bratwurst, caramelized onions, sauerkraut & spicy brown mustard & fries. I ordered the cheeseburger.A burger with white American cheese, pickles, lettuce, onion & no secret sauce without tomato with onion rings. Hubby's beer was good. My Tito's & cranberry juice had a good pour & was good. Our food came out pretty quickly. Everything was great. Hubby loved his sausage. I normally don't like battered fries, but they were good & crispy. They didn't have a lot of batter on them. My burger was really good. I could only eat half of the four. The onion rings were crispy & good. We brought the leftovers home & our son devoured my burger, the rest of the fries & onion rings. He liked everything. What a perfect place! Great food & alcohol! I definitely see us coming back!

I mustard you a question: Do you like hot dogs? I do! Because they're so barbe-cute!…read more I adore the DT Mesa Micky's location and had high hopes that this location will be exactly the same. Somehow, it's not the same at all. $12 al pastor burrito, $12 carne asada fries, and $5 Sonoran dogs. A price tag I'm willing to pay if the food was as good as DT Mesa but it's not. It's not to say that the food was bad but I don't see myself popping in here when I can go to the cozy DT Mesa spot. This is a spacious location and I'll give them that. The salsa bar is well stocked and you definitely won't bee disappointed. Give them a try!

Hot dogs really should be renamed to, "hot wolves." They always come in packs. ;D…read more I heard from a bird that today is #ThankYouThursday. It's on little days like these where showing gratitude to our local businesses is needed. For my #ThankYouThursday, I wanted to show some Yelp-love to Micky's Hot Dog. I first had Micky's at their Downtown Mesa location. While I do believe that location is still much better, this place isn't bad. This second location is in a more spacious spot and there's more seating. The Sonoran hot dog tastes different but it wasn't bad for the price. I would pass on the $12 carne asada fries though. The salsa bar has some standard offerings. I'm glad they were able to open s second location. I wish them much success.
