Girls night! So much to see and do in the city. And this place is definitely one of them. It's right in the river, so plenty to see while having a drink and eating dinner. Decorated in fall decor. A few picture spots to selfie it up! The drinks were very good! And the food... even better. I had the steak and frites. Yum!!! Cooked perfectly. I'd love to try again for a date night and maybe have a couple other drinkys. read more

A little hard to find, but definitely worth the hunt! Cozy atmosphere with a great view of the river. The service was friendly and fast. The food came out delicious and fresh. read more

A m b i a n c e: Chic and impressive space. The layout of tables is nice and gives everyone a view of the river. Business casual for attire, could be a good lunch place or date night spot. N o i s e L e v e l: Quiet, went on a Tuesday night for drinks and apps and it was empty except for 2 other tables. D r i n k s: Unique cocktail list, normal pricing for the area, lots of wine and beer options. I had a ginger cocktail that was all right, this restaurant is strawless, as I was told by the waitress. F o o d: Appetizers and main dishes, plus sides. Tried the veggie tacos, they were horrendous, wouldn't call them tacos, they were pickled vegetables on tortilla chips. And the truffle fries were normal. For a place that closes at 9:30p, they were doing last call for food at 8:00pm, which made us feel rushed. R e v i s i t: No, which is a shame because it's physically a great location, and seems to have so much potential. Our server was very curt and pushy with us. It actually tarnished the whole experience. She could not get us out faster, and the restaurant turned the lights on full blast at 9:15p to make sure we knew it was time for us to leave. read more

We took the opportunity on a gorgeous day to do Happy Hour on a Thursday from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Porters Kitchen & Deck offered $4 Draft Beers, $5 Select Glasses of Wine, $6 Absolut Cocktails & $8 Old Fashioneds. We spent the afternoon advantage out on their deck/patio since it we had great weather. Bartenders were super friendly and quick to take your order. Happy hour drink deals are a steal. And the view is stunning. I was a little disappointed that they did not have bar bites/ happy hour food, but Small Cheval is just downstairs. read more

HIGHLY recommend going here! First time there and it was better than I had expected. The staff was super courteous and friendly. Kami took care of us and we loved her. We tried the octopus, lobster roll and scallops. All very good dishes and of course we had some wine. The view alone was amazing. Total transparency...it was an expensive experience, but well worth it. read more

Came for the classics but was delighted to see new lunch dishes! Had to start with the hummus and pita, because it's just the best pita I've ever had. Then ventured on to the Crab Cake and Farro Salad both newer items we were excited to try. The Crab Cake was perfectly crispy and tasted oh so fresh! Complimented with a lovely greens for a perfect bite. The farro salad was gorgeous and had such wonderful textures. The dressing was bright and had pops of flavor. Next we both shared the new Guajillo Chicken Sandwich and Fish Tacos. The chicken sandwich was a flavor explosion! Smokey and sweet, and the juiciest chicken. The fish tacos I've had before, but so happy they were just as delicious as I remember! Everything was incredible! It was a busy lunch but service was swift and the kitchen worked like a well oiled machine, food came out perfectly timed, fresh and hot! It was my guests first time there and she was very impressed! I'll definitely be back again to show off this gem of spot! read more

Our work Christmas party took place here last week. I really enjoyed the food here and the steak is excellent. There is a really great view of the river, I can imagine how nice it looks in the spring and summer. I have a peanut allergy so unfortunately I couldn't really eat any of the dessert options, but they have quite a food selection so there is somethin for everyone...they even make everything look fancy on the plates. I will love to visit again read more

Omg!!!! Where do I even begin?! Oh! That's right, St.Patricks Day! This past Saturday Porter Kitchen and Deck hosted the most AMAZING Boozy brunch I've ever been too in Chicago. And let mí tell y'all, I BRUNCH! When I tell you Fremont, 80 proof, Crio, Lokal, and Benmark don't have ANYTHING ON PORTER KITCHEN, IM NOTPLAYING! From Diana the hostess to Jan our cool ass waitress this place was amazing. The food was fabulous, the patio was to die for, our bottomless green mimosas were constantly being refilled (s/o to Jan), and the interior decoration WAS EVERYTHING!!!! INSTAGRAM WASN'T READY FOR MY GROUPS TAKE OVER. My party was over 25 of my closest friends, most from out of town and none of us can stop taking about how fun and lit this brunch was. We totally got our money's worth. The only recommendation i have for them is to have some better music ( but the bag pipes were such a nice touch for the weeekend omg). But ya know just some Cardi, throwback JLO, and of course SICKOMODE could have definitely took the brunch to another level. Overall I'm obsessed with PK&D and i cannot thank the staff for helping me celebrate my 6% Irishness. read more

Despite the construction going on on the bridge, porter has a nice outside on the river area and a really good chicken sandwich. Quick enough to grab a lunch bite at work. Service was good, pricing for being on the river was fine read more

I normally don't do this, but after a more than delightful experience on Saturday at Porter, I just felt like it needed to be said. My family and I are actually located in Naperville and went out for a day in the city. We caught dinner at Porter, courtesy of a friend's recommendation, and couldn't have had a better time. Not only was the food and view spectacular, but our server, Omar, was a total rockstar! He truly gave us a fine dining experience and provided us with great recommendations along with a kind and attentive attitude from start to finish. I would recommend this place to anyone; truly great! Especially the brick chicken! read more

Excellent. Cole, our waiter, was a million bucks! His service was great! The Cucumber Collins is a winner! The lobster is a must! The truffle fries are worth it! The tuna tartare was a hit, as well! I'll be back to try the Brussel Sprout Salad with Salmon! Daily Happy Hour too! Check 'em Oct 16, 2018 Returned to Porter...Cole wasn't available but the Brussel Sprout Salad with Salmon DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! This is quickly turning into a favorite spot! Highly recommend. Very friendly, upbeat staff!!! read more

Definitely a cool and trendy place with amazing views of the river. I like taking out of town guests here for dinner or drinks. The food is good and so is the service was just very important to me. Of course eating in a super cool building as an added plus. read more

Awesome, beer selection local craft and also and expanded list on draft. Tacos are fantastic, lobster rolls divine. Patio has amazing views right on the river, staff is also on top of things. I'll be back soon. read more

Fun atmosphere right on the river watching all the boats go by! Brought guests from out of town and they really enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the poke bowl which tasted very fresh and was decorated beautifully. This place was a bit pricy, but I'd definitely come back for an occasion. read more

I work in the building and had to get a carryout order for someone today. I called downstairs, and was told that they cannot take orders over the phone as they are not setup for it yet (hello - we have this wonderful new technology called pen and paper!!). So I walked downstairs to order the food and was seated at the bar to order. The bartender (I wish I had gotten her name) was wonderful and helpful and had my order taken and ready to go in 5 minutes. The food was great, service was awesome but come on, our building is a "office building" with companies that cater in food on a daily basis. I completely understand that the restaurant is new and is working out the bugs but this is basic restaurant service. Use pen and paper until you get the POS system up and running to take carryout orders over the phone! read more

Came here for a friends rehearsal dinner! The venue was fantastic! I love the patio, it has a beautiful view of the river and lake street bridge. The food was delicious! The buffet consisted of a caesar salad which was topped with a type of potato chip instead of croutons. This is the most genius thing I have encountered in a long time! The buffet also had a mac and cheese that was very good! There were passed hors d'oeuvres of mini burgers that were very delicious! Great service and friendly staff! Would love to come back for a dinner outside on the patio! read more

Love this place! Came for dinner on Friday night and sat outside. The view was phenomenal. I ordered the filet sliders and my boyfriend ordered the skirt steak and Brussels sprouts. Both entrees were delicious. Lastly, the service was great and hard to find at restaurants in the loop. Highly recommend! read more

Dined here with my girlfriends for our Holiday Dinner and our only disappointment was that we hadn't been here sooner! We had the burrata and brussels sprouts for appetizers and they were both amazing!! Shared the chicken and pappardelle for dinner and those were delicious too. Perfect amount of food. Didn't get dessert, nothing jumped out at us. Will definitely go back! read more

Porter has a nice ambiance and sits along the river. We started out with the hummus and pita bread appetizer. The hummus was creamy with a nice nutty flavor and the pita bread was slightly crisp but not hard with some garlic salt. (5/5). I would come back just for this appetizer. We also ordered the truffle fries. They are cooked in beef fat but that meaty taste isn't translated to the fries. The truffle amount was perfect and aioli dipping sauce was a great accompaniment (5/5). For my main dish I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It had a nice crisp texture on the outside and wasn't overly thick. There was some sort of dijon aioli and a second sauce that had a nice honey flavor along with pickles on the sandwich (4/5). My friend ordered the penne primavera which she described as okay. Appetizers: 5/5 Main meals: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Total Experience 4.5/5 read more

This is another one by Four Corners Tavern Group. I started out with a Caesar Salad. It had potato chips in there. It was very good. Then I had the Porter Burger. I ordered it medium well but it was still a little red. I had a couple of their cocktails and one was called the Palenque. The staff was very nice and did a great job. read more

5 for the views and design, 2 for the food. Great to view the river and the boats. I had the LOBSTER ROLL and it was TERRIBLE. The lobster had the texture of being frozen and recently thawed. It was really soggy. Truffle fries were tasty. My glass has lip-gloss marks lingering from the previous use. Service was decent and the design is very cool. But overall the food was a big disappointment. read more

Very impressive venue. The location is topnotch, as you can sit indoors or get a table out on the river. The lunch menu is impressive--had the Brussel Sprout salad with salmon and it was out of this world....the beer menu (tap and bottles) looked amazing, but too early for that. Service was also top notch and my entire party loved their food (one lobster roll and fries and one had a burger). Definitely will be a regular here mostly due to the quality of the food/menu--also impressed with such great service being as it only just opened. Cannot wait to go back! Update: arrived 12:15 and table not ready. Waited 10 min and had to sit at bar as table still not ready due to large private event. SO THEY COMPD THE FULL 50 lunch ticket. What great service. So impressed and it was really no big deal to eat at the bar. Food was awesome and I felt guilty it was free. Again AWESOME CUSTOMER service. Makes me want to go back often well done Porter team!!! read more

The whole reason to come here is for the people watching. Right in the river and watched all the boats go by. The drinks were great. Fries were the best I have ever had. The chicken was really mediocre so I'd def just come here for happy hour next time. read more

I went to Porter Kitchen yesterday afternoon to try out their happy hour cocktails and drafts. I was greeted by a friendly host that offered me inside or outside seating. I had some studying to do for an exam coming up and was so tired of studying Inside, Porters offers two great views, one upstairs on the deck and the other downstairs that faces east Wacker Drive; both are very pretty. My waitress Alyssa greeted me promptly and recommended a crispy draft beer, I enjoy beer so I had three. It was an awesome experience, especially to see the boats pass by on a pretty day while getting some studying in. I will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night, made reservations ahead for our 7:45 but wasn't too busy when we arrived. Both the hostess and our waitress were very friendly, and both the inside and patio area were very nice. For dinner we got the max & cheese for a starter and their cheese burger, all were excellent! read more

The first thing you notice is one of the coolest views you'll see in any restaurant in Chicago. The river, the skyline, the El train. It's vintage Chicago. By the time you leave, you'll also love the food and service. I had the salmon and my vegan wife had penne primavera and we split the baby gem salad and charred asparagus. They were awesome. We'll be back. read more

Amazing location for business and happy hour. I heard about Porter from my old firm that is in 150 Riverside. The space is so cool and warm, Christmas decor looks great. The menu for food and drink is simple and easy. My colleagues are big wine drinkers and they were very impressed with the wine list. We sat at a table by the water and our server Jane, was great. We were there for a business meeting. Adam, director of Four Corners, came to our table and rolled out the red carpet. He was very engaged and told us all about the design, space and name behind Porter. read more

First of all, I was impressed at how beautiful the dining room was, open to river views through floor to ceiling glass. It's definitely a happening place and a great spot for lunch. We had the chicken noodle soup and a burger at a table by the window while enjoying views of the boats along the river. The soup was ok but the burger was one of the best around. This is a great place to come for happy hour or after work for a drink at the bar or lunch at one of the tables by the window. Service was friendly. read more

Just a great spot along the river with great food and drinks. Definitely check it out. Old Fashioned specials on Friday :)

Was in Chicago for a meeting and had dinner with a colleague here. Wonderful service. The hummus appetizer was amazing. I had the brick chicken. It was tasty but a little too much salt. Came with really good potatoes. I would go again and just ask for less salt. read more

Deeeelicious. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend the pita and hummus appetizer. Literally the best pita bread was the best bread any of my family has ever had. The side of Brussels sprouts were a little disappointing; overly oily and a slightly odd flavor. My brother got a burger and we were upcharged for bacon when he couldn't even eat it; it was saturated in oil and inedible. My moms chicken was good, and my crab roll was amazing and more flavorful than I anticipated. I got the cucumber Collins to drink, which was delicious and refreshing. The service was decent; we saw a lot more of other workers than our server. The others were fun and engaging, but our server was uninterested in us. Also, the food was definitely overpriced, which is normal for dining in the city. The restaurant itself is really cool and right on the river, which allows for some great views. read more

Great place to grab dinner after work. Nice selection of food and drinks paired with great service.

I've been here a couple times so far: once for a going-away happy hour where small bites were provided and another time for a coworker's birthday lunch. Both times the food has been excellent! I had the sliders during the happy hour, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how juicy and delicious this little thing was. The second time I went, we ordered the ham board. The crostini to ham ratio was severely off, but it was tasty nonetheless. The salmon I ordered was AWESOME. It was so simple and light, but packed so much flavor and was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend, especially for a business lunch or dinner! read more

Overall excellent place for a bite to eat, beautiful view of the river and exceptional service!
