It was my birthday, and this place was just down the street from my Airbnb, so I decided to go out to breakfast. The place is clean and bright, and everybody was friendly. The menu, as in most diners, was very large. However, one item stuck out on the menu to me. Birthday cake, pancakes! Yes, please! I put in my order, it comes quickly, and I got three *YUUUUUUUGE* fluffy pancakes with lots of yummy whipped cream.. They were light, they were fluffy, they were not gummy in the middle, and you could definitely taste the birthday cake flavor. . I had them with a couple of eggs that were perfectly over easy. I also had coffee, and the coffee was delicious. There was no way I could finish that breakfast, so I took a little less than half back to my Airbnb for later, and they reheated perfectly. I'd like to say that they make up for it in hospitality but that's where it gets worse... when a blizzard hit my daughter pulled into the parking lot waiting for us to come get her-too afraid to continue driving, upon closing early they let her know that they would tow the car and she couldn't leave it there. She called me hysterically crying. Truly awful people-not a good move when you depend on business from local residents. Maybe make up for your terrible food by asking a customer and neighbor if they need any help in the middle of a blizzard? I will never spend a dime in that place again. read more

What a nice little find driving on route 9W. There is plenty of parking at this cozy little diner. The interior was clean and spacious. Even though I was party of one, I was given a table instead of asked to sit at the counter, which I appreciated. The service was great. Very attentive and helpful with the menu. The food was good. I think there was a very serious situation in the kitchen, either a cockroach or rodent infestation! They were rude and abrupt and kicked me out(after I spent $25) to spray chemicals around the diner. Where do I begin. Place draws a lot of regulars who give you a stare down when you walk in and heaven forbid you sit in one of regular booth. One guy cursed me out for sitting in his booth!! I moved to the area last year and finally popped into the local diner. Immediately impressed by how clean and bright and roomy it is. They have your typical big diner menu. First time my wife and I stopped for dinner. I had the special of the day, linguine in red clam sauce. It was excellently lined with many small, sweet littlenecks covered with a mild red sauce with chopped clams. Very fresh and generous. Among the best l have had. My wife's roast beef dinner was likewise very good- tender beef and homemade mashed potatoes. Great price and great. We visited again on June 8th for lunch. My wife had the ham/Swiss panini and I had the chicken salad in a croissant, including turkey rice soup. All was excellent- freshly made and certainly a cut above other local diners. I went in for a quick bite this morning, juggling the baby of course. I figured an everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese would be quick and easy. I even got it to go since since the only seats available were at the bar. It finally came out, after quite a wait. I paid and left. Sitting in the case I opened it up and the bagel was dark to say the least. They hadn't even spread the cream cheese. It was literally just a slice off a block, thrown on. I wrapped it back up and will now be heading somewhere else for breakfast. As for the staff, I'm used to diners having that open, friendly staff. Not a huge place (probably less than half the size of the Broadway Lights diner in Kingston), but the food is good and reasonably priced. However: NOTE they are closed for a couple of weeks. There is a sign out front advertising that they have new owners and will reopen in October (2013). I see they are doing some renovations. Will come back to report on the changes. read more

Flying in from Florida to visit my boyfriends family this long weekend and we found this cute little diner that is only a few miles away. I went with my boyfriend and children. Incredible experience. My daughter has several allergies and they helped with every dish I needed. Since changing ownership it's not even close to what it used to be, I'm a local who used to frequent this diner. The quality of the food is not good at all and the food isn't prepared that well. Came here for dinner three weeks ago, and while the staff was somewhat courteous, the food was far feom edible. I had an open roast beef sandwich, which is something I like to try at most diners along with the corned beef Reuben. roast beef came out dry, in fact so dry , that no amount of gravy in the world would save it. the potatoes equally as dry and stiff , perhaps they were from the night before? I didn't want to send it back but I also didn't eat more than three bites and when I told the waitress about it, she said that she was sorry but they could not take it off the bill! and did not offer to get me anything else... I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt and get a corned beef Reuben. never again. I have never been so sick in my entire life, epic food poisoning and although I hate bash an eating establishment since I have been a waitress/bartender for 30+ years, and given the fact that my friend who also ate with me that day was DEATHLY sick too (from a cheeseburger ) . . . . I strongly advise caution if you really want to eat here, unless you have paid sick time from work. read more

Best place to eat! The food is well made and comes out quickly. The wait staff is friendly and very accommodating. I like the "Zing" for breakfast-huge bagel, smoked salmon, cream cheese and all the fixings. We like the French fries, too and the Gyro is just GREAT. This is their Fifth Anniversary and they gave out free raffle tickets to everyone to celebrate. These are local folks. Been there for breakfast and lunch, not dinner, yet. This restaurant is a diamond-in-the-rough in the heart of the Hudson Valley along Route 9W in the Town of Port Ewen a couple miles South from Kingston, New York. Lisa and Gary Zwerdling are the local proprietors. Their restaurant is super clean and the servers know their job to make the patron very satisfied in there choices. The diner has a wonderful "home town" atmosphere, with price point very reasonable. My favorite dish was the chicken-cordon-blue and has the Best ground coffee in the Valley! Great venue!! read more
