$1700 for a new starting battery for my 992S! Dead battery after having car sit for the winter and wouldn't hold a charge. Four calls into Porsche to finally be able to reach a service advisor who wasn't very helpful. I purchased same AGM battery from Costco for $179 and it was a very easy install. Why wasn't my battery under warranty? Crazy to me that a battery would die after 24 months. More crazy that Porsche wanted $1700 to replace it. Amazing car but nightmare service department. I've taken a long time to reflect before posting this review. I had an appointment on May 12 for a routine oil change scheduled at 10:00 AM. I ended up waiting four hours, which was frustrating--but not even my main concern. What truly disappointed me was, after being charged $578.95 for an oil change, only to be told they "couldn't" reset the service needed light because I declined the 60,000-mile service. I know that just isn't true, but I didn't have the energy to argue. I declined that service because my car has just over 27,000 miles on it. The service advisor was dismissive and unhelpful, making me feel as though I was inconveniencing him by asking questions. Overall, the experience left me feeling undervalued as a customer. read more

Wasn't planning to buy an electric car but was blown away by the advantages, easy maintenance and lower costs. CPO vehicle with so called 150 point inspection. Panamara had multiple issues, including throwing codes that rear tail lights were out, and other issues totaled over $2500.00 at the Porsche dealership when I drove it home. Never return any calls. Something shady is going on at this dealership. Been driving Porsches and dealing with Porsche dealers for many years, never saw service and follow-up so poor as this one. Well... I'm hardly in the mood to give this dealership any more of my time. I don't type up many reviews but this needs to be one of those times where I need the warn the community. The interaction started pretty well with our salesman when we first purchased the vehicle. Oscar is a nice guy and seems to be as accommodating as possible for the things he can control as a salesperson. However, we quickly learned that the managers are absolutely a joke to deal with. I don't say this lightly. I've owned my very successful business in the area for 27 years now.... And this is why I am calling out the horrible experience for everyone who wants to research buying a Porsche. The quick backstory is that we bought a Porsche this past February. Nice car...until it wasn't. Went into service almost immediately because the front axle needed to be replaced. Okay... life happens. whatever. Well, a few months later the other axle needed to be replaced. Okay...again... things happen (Maybe a bad batch of axles so we dealt with it) Went in for a 3rd time and now they needed to replace the whole transmission. By the way...as of the day of this review, we still don't have the vehicle back and it's been a few months. The car was in the shop 1/3 of it's time that we bought it. Pretty obvious that this vehicle cannot be considered trustworthy anymore. Of course we started the conversation with the dealership about the fact that something needs to be done. We have a recording with 2 witnesses where the salesman (Oscar) and his boss Jacob BOTH said that we god a "bad one" for sure. They said that it was a dud but they wanted to make it right. We had a simple request to just move us into a different vehicle. Just another Macan but it needed to be a better one this time. After going back and forth for about 3 weeks....they gave us an embarrassing offer. They immediately started treating this as just another car deal with a "Trade-in vehicle" and trying to sell us a newer car that would add $14,000 to the existing loan on the POS Macan that they sold us originally. Their firm offer was to sell us a more expensive car and knock off $1000 from the advertised price rather than do whatever needed to be done to save a horrible situation that they put us in. All this hype about doing "whatever it takes" to make everything right again...and this is their solution? Knock $1000 off a new one and hope we accept the offer? My wife and I are completely disgusted with everyone at this dealership. (Oscar, Jacob, Christian especially). My wife asked the front desk lady to have the GM (Christian) to call her back since the whole discussion of what Porsche was going to do to help us was going the completely wrong direction for about 3 weeks. Well...3 days later, Christian NEVER called my wife back. She never got a call from him even though the front desk person said that he would call asap. Obviously the horrible leadership starts at the top. This whole experience proves that this dealership is ONLY in business for themselves and the customer can go fly a kite. They ONLY care about their bottom line. All of this BS about how they care about the customer is a joke. My wife has lived just a few miles from their dealership in West Lake since birth. Unfortunately for Austin Porsche.... My wife is a huge part of the Austin community and they truly have no idea how this shitty experience is going to backfire. 2 of her friends were about to contact this dealership about a couple of very "High-end" purchases... but let's just say that they will be shopping somewhere. If I could rate this service center a ZERO I Absolutely would with no hesitation. As a previous technician for car dealerships myself, I have never been met with such unprofessionalism and absolute lack of communication and customer service skills from the service advisors (Brett Weldon) and frankly it's quite disappointing. Especially when you take your car into a high class car dealership and you get treated so poorly. I brought my car in for a repair on a tow truck (with no appointment because my Porsche broke down and was undriveable) on a Thursday. Upon my car arriving to the dealership I already had issues getting in contact with ANYONE at the dealership from the service department. So I eventually just had to call the front desk and let them know TO TELL THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT my car was there. Now as a previous technician myself and being very familiar with how the car service industry is. I was expecting a call from (Brett Weldon) my assigned service advisor to give me an update on a ETA or a time frame on when they would be able to look at my car.... Thursday passes. ZERO CONTACT. Fast forward to the next day (Friday) (I actually made an appointment for 9:30 this day as well) the entire day passes with again NO CONTACT from Brett Weldon the service advisor. I then attempt to call, he doesn't answer yet again. And then at 5pm the end of the day I receive a text from Brett saying they have my car and are looking at it. And since he waited till the end of the day to give me any sort of update on my car it was too late in the day for me to book a rental car. So I had to wait till the following day. This is the point where I was losing faith in the dealers competence. Saturday rolls around. Again ZERO CONTACT. And yes the service department IS open this day. Sunday they're closed and I understand that. But the fact that I still couldn't get ahold of the dealer or Brett with any sort of update on my car before there off day is absolutely un acceptable. Monday rolls around and mid day I receive another text NOT A CALLfrom Brett sending me the service technicians overview of the diagnosis of the car. Now for those who don't know. When a dealership sends a video of your car recommending repairs. The video should ALWAYS be the technician showing what's wrong with the car. ( for example if you had a nail in your tire the video would be the technician showing the tire that's damaged showing the proof of his discovery during this $300 diagnosis you pay for you expect the best coming from Porsche. But no I did not receive a video of proof of broken or needing to be replaced items. Instead I got a video of my Porsche WITH A CLOSED HOOD with the technician recommending me all of these different repairs that he has include ZERO proof of. And btw I receive this video and then a quoted invoice of over $12,000. And I have yet to see any sort of proof in reguards to needing said repairs. I then reach out to Brett VIA TECT SINCE A PHONE CALL DOESNT WORK FOR HIM. And confront him on the technicians video and recommendations. And instead of calling me to talk further about the recommended repairs. Brett weldon dismisses all of my questions and doesn't answer any of them. But confidently responded when confronting him that a repair that was recommended I already had done in the past BY PORSCHE. SO this then tells me he didn't do his job and look up the vehicles repair history. Brett eventually stopped responding to me all together that day and I then decided that Brett and his team were not to be trusted and were obviously not caring about customer service and making the customer feel right in this situation. And it's obvious that Brett doesn't care for his customers. I then decided to send ANOTHER tow truck to retrieve my vehicle from the dealer Thursday morning. And I reach out to Brett after sending multiple messages to him to get him to respond telling him I'm going to send the tow truck to retrieve my car. He says OK and that he would let me know when my car is ready for pick up. Hours go by and I got nothing OF COURSE I then reach out again to ask if I can send a tow truck he then responds with YES. now the interesting part about this is when I get my car back I pop open my hood. (One of the jobs that was recommended was a coil and spark plug replacement. (Which was the job that had already been done by PORSCHE in the past. I open the hood and see two engine coils labeled. And I also scanned the car for the misfire that I brought it in for. And noticed the misfire has completely changed to a different cylinder. I also see the coil that was misfiring had a number written on it from the technician because he swapped the coil from cylinder to a different cylinder to check and see if the coil was bad. This tells me the technician did not put my car back to the way it was found. I couldn't be any more disappointed with this service department. BE WARE OF BRETT WELDON read more

CONSUMER WARNING Porsche Austin sells wrecked cars as CPO (Certified Pre Owned) I have examples of many instances of them selling cars without disclosing this to the new owner. Here is one example (See attached) This $80k CPO vehicle had over $22,000 in Repair work and the whole car was repainted and not disclosed to the new buyer. I had another near new Porsche 911 that was involved in a rear end collision and was traded in to Porsche Austin. Porsche Austin did not disclose the damage to the new owner They also sold a brand new 2023 GT3 that had a repainted hood with overspray all over it. These guys are crooks and liars read more

Went to look at a used car that is currently on their website. I waited around for 10 minutes while the receptionist went to find someone to help me while 5 salesmen were standing 5 feet from me talking to each other. Then one of them finally tells me the car was sold. I mentioned they should remove the car from their inventory on the website. He said they submit the info that a car has sold and it takes 72 hours to be removed from the website inventory. Apparently they are still managing their website like it's 2005. You can't rely on their website, you need to call and check (or maybe send a fax). read more

Problem 1: I traded in and purchase a new vehicle from Porsche Austin over 4 YEARS AGO. The person who handled my financing apparently screwed up the paperwork which resulted in the title (license plates) for my old vehicle remaining in my name until the end of time. Problem 2: To this day, over 4 years later, a car with a similar license plate to my old one has been wracking up toll charges this entire time and the TxDoT cameras think it's my old plate. I've called to dispute the charges so many times over the years that I have their number committed to memory. TxTag then sends me bills for each of the charges. None of this would be happening if Porsche just completed the paperwork correctly! They made my life a living hell. read more

Staff wore masks, everything well spaced out. We met with Diego Hodges. I can tell you it that I didnt exactly make it easy for him since I had to leave in 30 min to handle a late night work call. Within the 30 min, he never blinked an eye or made me feel rushed despite the time limits that I set forth. He showed us (and we drove) a great car, at a good deal - i knew that car wouldn't last! We didn't end up buying a car here - it was close, but we chose an amg. That said, we may be back here in the future because the service, professionalism, cleanliness and seamless ability to work under pressure was surprising. I hate to write this review during the holidays, but I have literally had one of the worst experiences in purchasing a used 911 Carrera S through this dealership that it warrants this review. I would highly recommend that you due your own due diligence on this dealership or avoid buying a car from them entirely. I bought a 2016 used 911 out of state, dealt with the sales rep by the name of Anthony Vincent. Who was attentive to the deal when I initially made contact on the vehicle. I was pretty sure I was going to buy this vehicle but need to see a few videos and needed some assurances on the how the vehicle would be shipped to me. In the video, it was evident the car had some key issues like the top made squeaking noise when retracting, and the needed to be cleaned. Anthony assured me that everything was fixed and because the car was under CPO it shouldn't be a problem. I also asked him if it had a new battery as they claimed they had done a full inspection on the car and replaced all parts. I also asked them to detail the car before it was shipped to me. And then worked with them to get the car shipped through their recommended shipping company. Here is where it all goes wrong. As soon as the transaction completed Anthony pretty much disappeared. I couldn't find the details of the shipping company from him, until I received a notification and invoice was created (2 days after the purchase was complete). Additionally, when Anthony did respond to me about the battery, the top (noise), and the car being detailed he mentioned it was all completed - it was not. The car arrived with a superficial cleaning - there was/is dirt still present in the car, I just took it to my local dealership, they said the battery was never replaced (a cost of $800+), and the squeaking noise is still present. Lastly, there was no follow up in terms of my buying experience or if I needed anything fixed from the car. I did work with the finance guy Kyle Stover to complete the registration of the car, but whenever I mentioned I had a poor purchase experience Kyle's comment was "we are in finance, that's the sales departments issue." I did finally get a call from the GM of Porche Austin, who apologized for the experience, but offered no reconciliation in terms of the issues above. When I told him the car was dirty and had issues, he pretty much mentioned that this was an issue due to the cleaning agency they work with. If you want to work with a dealership that is happy to take your money, but doesn't want to focus on customer experience, or take accountability for the lack of coordination, this is the perfect firm to work with. Pretty much one hand doesn't talk to the other and pretty piss poor customer service. Btw still waiting to hear back from my sales rep...lol, and have had 3 appointments with my local dealership already. read more

I have good and bad comments.... Purchased a 2018 Cayenne with some miles on it from Porsche Austin. The first few years at the old location were good service experiences and I loved the car. Fast forward a few years.... My car went out of warranty and I decided not to buy an extended warranty assuming I would trade the car in. Before I was able to do that, huge major issues have now happened..... Costing thousands and thousands of dollars. Porsche Austin also did not have a loaner car available for one of the huge issues so I had to pay for 3 weeks of a rental car. Now the engine is completely crapped out. Seriously.... my choice is to pay about $20k to get the engine fixed or replaced. I'm beyond upset and will never, ever buy another Porsche. 3 years ago Porsche Austin single handedly turned me off of Porsche. This after driving Porsche's for nearly 25 years. Service apointments were never easily available. I always had to schedule 3-4 weeks to sometimes even months in advance. And then they'd need the car for incredibly long periods of time, and was usually delayed past the promised completion date. While my car was with them communication about the service itself was non-existent. I constantly had to call in and beg for a status. The service work itself was OK, once it was finally done. To add insult to injury, THEY WON'T STOP MARKETING TO ME! I get constant junk mail. I have called, emailed, and made requests on their website, to please stop mailing me. AND IT DOES NOT STOP! 3 years of constant junk mail, and they refuse to honor my request to be removed from marketing! It is unreal how arrogant and brazen they are in their marketing department. I had a battery/electrical issues where I couldn't start my car. I called Porsche near me and spoke with Adam who is the Service Manager. We arranged a drop off date and had the car delivered to their service center. Adam and team communicated frequently and even sent a video explaining the work that needed to be done. They explained it to me (who is generally technically incompetent) in a way I could understand. Adam gave me some advice on how to avoid this situation in the future. On top of it all, they washed and polished the car, vacuumed/polished the inside and had the car delivered to my house so that I didn't have to take a car ride service or find a friend. I have had nothing but great experiences at this Dealership. Service advisor Josh Grooms makes sure my vehicle is kept in great shape and up to date. Each and every time one of our vehicles is in for regular maintenance he makes sure all recalls and service bulletins are completed. He is always concise in time of completion and ETA on arrival of parts. The cherry on top is picking up your car with a fresh wash which he makes sure is completed according to your schedule. This dealership is the reason I no longer own my Panamera. First, the positives: the showroom is lovely, and the service advisors are great. Chase, who was my regular service advisor, took care of my every need and was very patient with me. The rest of my review will focus on my experience at the service department, but I want to be clear that my issues are not with the service advisors themselves. About a year and a half ago, I purchased a CPO 2012 Porsche Panamera. Being an older car, it was bound to have a few issues crop up, but I felt confident that a brand like Porsche would have no problem taking care of them in an expedient manner. I owned the car for a grand total of exactly 181 days, and in those 181 days, it spent 70 of those days at Porsche of Austin - over 1/3 of my time owning it - spread across just five visits. By the end, I was so frustrated, I traded it in for a Kia. That's right, I traded my Porsche for a Kia. So what happened? First, this dealership significantly overcharges for their work. They wanted in the vicinity of $2500-3000 for the 80,000 mile service on my Panamera. For comparison, Porsche of San Antonio and Stevinson Imports (a Porsche dealer in Denver, where I used to live) quoted $1600-1800 for the same service. I believe this is because of a lack of competition - the next closest Porsche dealership is in San Antonio, and while one was announced in 2018 for the Arboretum area in Austin, I don't think anything has come to fruition. Second, loaner cars - if you want one, you need to book your appointment at least five weeks out. Have an emergency breakdown? Too bad, hopefully you have a backup car or can afford a rental. Again, I think this is because of a lack of competition. Third, repair times are obscene. I waited almost a week for the dealership to do a warranty check on a battery for my 911 (on a side note, they refused to fail the battery, but when it still had issues, I replaced it with an aftermarket battery and the battery issues vanished...funny how that works). Every time I dropped my Panamera off, it was at least a one-week wait for repairs, and on two occasions it stayed there for over three weeks - not for anything major, just for replacing a control arm, fixing the windshield rain sensor, and performing a couple minor recalls. In comparison, my local Kia dealership performed a routine service AND fixed an issue that required dropping the headliner within 5 hours of me leaving the car at the dealership. This was the ultimate reason I sold the Panamera - I was tired of making payments for a car I couldn't drive, and I was being forced to use an old sports car as a daily driver because the Panamera was spending so much time at the dealership being fixed. The day I traded it, three more things went wrong, and I knew it was going to be another 2-3 weeks of repairs if I were to take it back. Finally, the most unacceptable things I encountered at this dealership were the lying from the techs and general unprofessionalism. I already mentioned that they falsely claimed my battery was fine. They also 1) let my Panamera run completely out of gas, possibly damaging the fuel pump in the process; 2) left grease stains all over the headliner because they didn't use gloves; 3a) claimed that a nail that mysteriously appeared in a tire 2 weeks into its 3-week stay was my fault; 3b) claimed that the nail was in the sidewall of the tire and therefore unpatchable (it was in the middle of the tread and was easily repairable); and 3c) gave me attitude when I called them out on all of #3, had the tire repaired myself, and put it back on the car (it was fine, by the way). I love Porsches. I still own my 911, and I would love to own another, more modern one someday, but as long as Porsche of Austin is my only choice for a dealership, that's not going to happen. read more

I can't say enough positive things about working Porsche Austin. They really rolled out the red carpet for me. Despite just buying a used car, I still got the full royal treatment complete with an unveiling upstairs and white glove tutorial on the vehicle. Coming from a Toyota Corolla that I drove for the past 15 years, this purchase decision was years in the making and the team at Porsche made it a truly memorable experience. The entire process was absolutely seamless from emailing to schedule a test drive to buying the vehicle and driving it off the lot a few days later. My dad's dream car has been a Porsche ever since he first saw his 1st one (a 356) walking to 3rd grade class in 1953. And my wife's dream car has been a Porsche Cabriolet ever since watching Top Gun for the 1st time in 1986. We were both destined to be Porsche owners. Earlier this year, through a few serendipitous situations, my dad and I decided it was about time we get serious about buying them. After all our due diligence, we got to the point of doing test drives. After 3 different visits here, my dad and I had been unsuccessful in finding what felt like the right car and making a deal. Before deciding to work with another dealer in Texas, who was doing a phenomenal job following up to earn our business, I decided to give Porsche Austin one more try. I pulled up the staff bio page on their website. Shaun Jones's picture immediately stood out to me. Along with Mykel Walker (sales manager). From the very moment I sent Shaun Jones an intro email sharing our story and asking for his help, he was ON IT. He got me ALL the information I needed to make an educated decision on a car, got me to an agreeable price, and put it through a meticulous CPO service, all in less than a DAY. No run around, no wasted time, no nonsense. He just got it done...like the badass special ops Marine he is. I invited my dad to accompany me for delivery day. I came in to be greeted with help and questions. Instead I was ignored and left like no one cares. I walked by the reception desk 2 times 2 ladies just looked at me like they dork want me to be there. I never imagined the poor level of attention and service from a Porsche dealership. I even sat in my rental car hoping someone would come see me and help me but nothing. This was on a Monday ar 1:20pm. They don't even care to welcome you no hard feelings. I will buy the car somewhere else where I will be treated like a customer. I read more

I traded in my Ford Mustang, was surprised they even took a Mustang, and leased a 2020 911 Turbo from Porsche Austin.  This is my dream car and I can't believe I finally am able to afford one. This is seriously the fastest car I've ever driven and I have to pinch myself every time I see it in my garage. Amber made the whole process seamless and I can't say enough good about them.  None of the endless "let me talk to my manager" then they spend 10 minutes joking in the break room while you wait just to wear the customer down.  A very professional experience, even with all the weird safeguards for coronavirus. read more

Need to give Credit where credit is due, and Porsche Austin is due some credit. I purchased my 2012 Carrera S from another Dealer up North TX, and I noticed some mileage discrepancies on an R/O which was made prior to selling the car to my. I reached out to the dealer, but was told they needed to look into it further. So I reached out to a Technician at Porsche Austin, which I met at a PCA drive. Very nice guy and in a casual conversation on my car and how to do some repairs, he gave me his Business Card and said if I ever need help with my car to give him a call. Well, I made that call regarding the mileage discrepancies. He mentioned he would to talk to his Supervisor, who could look deeper into their system. He called me back today and found out what happened...basically the Tech at the dealership I purchased the car from had fat fingers and entered the wrong numbers. Porsche Austin found the R/O where the Tech said it was an entry error on the previous R/O. Porsche Austin put my mind to rest and has raised my confidence in the Dealership...There are some out there that Actually CARE about their customers...really CARE! This is the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. I tried to contact Ozzy over the phone about a car and he completely took his time getting back with us numerous times. in the meantime, they sell the car to someone else. Sales manager was very rude and never bothered to call me back about any of it. read more

After purchase, expect poor to no communication. I purchased a 2017 "Certified Used" 911 Targa 4S from Austin Porsche. On the day of purchase, the dealership agreed to replace the clear bra on the vehicle (it was scuffed, faded, and cloudy). One week later after hearing nothing from 2 emails to my sales associate, I called and was told "paint had come off the car while removing the bra, and the front end of the car needs to be repainted"... 3 weeks after purchase, with me always calling them - never receiving proactive feedback (so frustrating), I received the vehicle back. (Strike 1). At the time of purchase, I paid $2,000 for the "Porsche Driving Experience" at COTA Speedway, an exciting time for any Porsche owner. My vehicle had to be inspected prior to the racing event day, and of course, the "Certified Porsche" failed the inspection... how does that happen with a $135,000.00 vehicle that just went through a 180 point thorough inspection? The vehicle went back into the shop, and of course, the racing day was missed. (Strike 2). At this point, the entire experience of owning this new amazing machine has been nothing but stress and disappointment... I no longer even trust the vehicle and the dealerships' lack of care and almost complete disregard have ruined the experience. 2 months into the nightmare I call my sales associate and ask him about trading in the 911 on a new Porsche SUV... he completely understands and will get back with me. I never receive a return call. (Strike 3). A week or so later I text my sales associate and ask if he has any of the original photos of the vehicle I could use - I'm selling the car. He never replies. The experience at this point is so bad I just want to be done - I call an auto broker I've previously dealt with and sell the car for $105,000.00. A $30,000 lesson on my end - hoping to save you the same horrible experience I received in all regards at Porsche Austin. read more
