This was our first visit to Pop's. Of course I found it by YELPING for a breakfast place. We arrived an found people waiting outside (may be a good sign). We waited for about 20 minutes. Inside there are 8 tables for two and 7 tables for 4. We were greeted promptly, and coffee served (YAY). I ordered the sausage and cheese omelette, my wife had the Belgian Waffle. The food took a little long to get there but the place was full and they were doing a robust take-out business as well so that is understandable. When our food arrived it was hot and prepared well. There was a lot of cheese and sausage in the omelette and it was hot. My only problem with this item was that the sausage was not incorporated into the egg mixture. When you cut into the omelette, the sausage comes falling out. Its like chopped sausage stuffed in to an egg envelope. This happens in a lot of places. Being an omelette aficionado, i like it the traditional way. The flavor of the ingredients was great, though. The toast was fresh and hot too. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her waffle. I thought that her bacon was way too crispy - actually crumbly - but she was okay with it. The service was great for a little place like this. My coffee never got less that like a third of a cup. The waiter and even the busser made sure that everyone was taken care of refilling my wife's diet coke as well. As soon as someone would leave, the table was cleaned and reset and another party would be seated. The team works very well together and keeps the flow coming in as quickly as possible. I came here with my mom this past Sunday, we got here a little after 9am, the timing seemed optimal: we only had to wait around 5 minutes. By the time we left, there were several tables worth of people waiting outside. Ok, it's a little place & very "busy", the servers are amazing: gliding around & catering to several tables at a time, always friendly. One of the biscuits, gravy & butter ended up coming home with me, I enjoyed it warmed in the toaster oven ( wrapped in foil ) with the butter & jam. Even better the next day! My mom had pancakes ( just 2 but they were enormous! )... I think we've all had pancakes that have no " substance ", that fall apart after the syrup hits them. But these were thick, " sturdy " in a good way, delicious. I had a taste of her pancakes...those pancakes make me want to come back. So glad we came here instead of the typical IHOP or Denny's. The service was fast and friendly, and since it was so busy I was pleasantly surprised with the welcoming feel. I tried a taste of my sister-in-law's breakfast pork chop, and it was nicely seared. They gave her two pieces and tons of potato. The rest of us got the French toast combos. We got to choose between the original and deep fried French toast and opted to do half & half. Deep fried was good, but I'm still a fan of original. Pop's is down the street from my house. The Chicken Fried Steak is to die for, you have to make sure to get it with Irish potatoes, and a side of pancakes. Perfect when you are hungry or great to share if you don't feel like stuffing your face (I always do). Anything on the menu is delicious but my family usually orders two to three C.F.S.'s because nobody wants to share. I also appreciate the smiling faces and friendly service. We decided to come here today for breakfast because my girlfriend found this place on yelp. Our server was so nice and funny every time she came to check on us and for the food I had the eggs Benedict and some pancakes, while my girlfriend had some French toast. The pancakes were deliciously rich and my girls french toast was so crunchy and hearty. Both our eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend this place for not just the amazing food but for the great and friendly service from their staff. I'll also say to try to come early to avoid the rush they get because there will be a line of people during peak breakfast hours; it's not as hidden as it looks. We tried this place heading to LA. It's a very small cute place. It was pretty packed when we got there. We waited about 25-30 minutes. Their service was good, not the greatest but good. We ordered steak, the patty, spinach omelette, chicken fried steak and I forget what I ordered, but everything was delicious. Plain dishes but delicious. My brother had ordered medium rare steak and it was fully cooked with small red. So completely the opposite of his request, he didn't mind it, so that was one downfall.
