Not going to lie, the last time I ate here ( March 2020) there was a hair IN my burger. I called and complained, they took my name & replaced my mail. So I was hesitant on coming back. I was craving a bomb burger, so of course I went here ( Oct 8 2021). I ordered the Texas Burger combo. And it was good UNTIL I find freaking egg shells in my burger. I was crushed. I go to this location at lest twice a week but no more. I am tired of getting nickeled and dimed to death. First they charge you to use your debit card, today they charged me .25 for the cup for my ice cream. What's next .25 for my soda cup? I am very disappointed in this place. It's been a couple of years since we've been here, because they are so far away from us. They use to have great food, worth the drive and wait. But today I had my husband go get food from here. They had a 30 minute wait in the drive thru which isn't bad if the food is worth it. So first off this chic tells my husband they don't have triples (burgers), which is on the menu. Second they don't have bananas for a milkshake, and this chic doesn't know what a salad CB is! They finally get home and the first thing I notice is how it's all packaged up. The heat and steam made everything soggy!!! All the buns were soggy and nasty. The lettuce on the burgers looked droopy with black spots. The fries that were suppose to have extra seasoning tasted horrible. I don't know if they change their oil but they need to. Not impressed with their burgers or fries. I had their mushrooms, I did like that they got them done and not runny in the middle like most places. Your food is made by the most humble, most respectable, and best cooks in town. My girlfriend has been coming here with her dad for almost 20years. The owners now are awesome! I keep putting off reviewing this place because I like to post photos... but I always scarf my burger down as soon as I get home because, DANG, Pop's Burgers are good. I'm a burger guy so I haven't gotten adventurous with their other menu items. Their fries and o' rings are good too, really good. First timers should order small sides, at first; you're likely to have leftovers or regret ;-) It's a small operation, so things can be a little slow sometimes, but good things (and cholesterol) come to those who wait. I'm ONLY giving 3 stars because the food was good. First of all, the wait was 30 minutes at least and there were only 2 cars ahead of me. When I got to the window, the cashier had my order wrong, which was NOT an issue to me at all... as amatter of fact, the wait time wasn't even an issue... until the cashier gave horrible service. She was upset because the order was wrong and it was NOT my fault. Then she had the drinks wrong so she had to redo them. Well, when she gave me the drinks there was soda spilled all over them. I didn't complain, I simply asked for a napkin so I can clean them. She reached out and gave me a napkin then (for the 3rd time) slammed the drive thru window. We've passed by this burger stand a few times and always wanted to try it. I guess this was the WRONG night for service... and maybe the last. Pops is great. Everything I've ever tried is great. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for your food, especially if it's busy, but that just means it's fresh. The parking lot is a little bumpy getting in - hopefully it can be repaved, but overall a great place for fried goodness. Oh, the ice cream is good too. read more

My son got dinner for us here tonight. My son got a bacon cheeseburger and curly fries and i got an avocado bacon cheeseburger and a garden salad with ranch. First of all he had to wait in the drivethru for 20 min and he was the only one, which he complained about as soon as he got home. He loved his burger especially the bun, and the fries were crispy and not greasy at all. My burger was good too and i do agree there's something about that toasty bun!! The avocado on my burger was perfectly ripe and creamy as avocado should be...My salad on the other hand wasn't too great. At first it looked inviting but once i put the mediocre ranch on and took my first bite it was just meh...i really didn't like the shredded lettuce at all and the ranch I think was homemade but it just tasted too sweet to me. The burgers and fries were definitely yummy i'd just skip the salad next time for sure. And i'm assuming the long wait is because they make your food to order so be patient if you don't want old cold food Lol...It's pretty close to my house too so that's a plus. Fyi, I'm not a pro I'm just a normal guy who loves to eat. I started yelping so I could help people find delicious places to eat. So, I live about a mile from this place and have driven by it almost everyday. I never thought anything about it until my little brother told me it's got great burgers and shakes. I was once in a mood for a shake and decided to stop and get a chocolate, peanut butter, and banana shake. It was bomb! A little thick but still amazing. The ONLY problem I had with the shake was that I got too much. I got the xxl shake and it was too much sweetness for one sitting. However, I recently tried a small shake and it was perfect. If you decide to stop here get a Texas Cheeseburger. You'd expect that to be some kind of BBQ burger, but it actually means its just a bigger burger. It really isn't that big though lol. So, a guy my size would probably be satisfied with a double and adding bacon. The first bite I had of this burger was pure heaven. It is what you expect from a drive in spot. Greasy, cheesy, cooked perfectly, shredded lettuce, tomato, and that thousand island dressing. This gave John's Burgers (my favorite burger spot) a run for it's money!! The fries are crispy, but not too crispy. They came out hot and delicious. The atmosphere is quite...... Hmm how do I say this....... Dull. There are a few cheap booths inside, a painting of a unicorn, and other cheap decorations. However, I didn't come here for the view, I came for the delicious food and this place delivered. Plus, the owner of the restaurant is super nice! He is the atmosphere. He makes you feel welcome and you can tell he's proud of the food he produces. Since it's only him, the food takes a while to come out. Oh yeah, there are a few flies around and hardly any AC, but whatevs. Just take the food to go. Well the cheese sticks are tooooo greasy. I honestly don't even want to give them one star. we ordered shrimp basket and triple burger onion rings mushrooms and grilled cheese. our triple burger was only a double. shrimp was COMPLETELY over cooked and too hard to eat. the mushrooms were a little soggy but not horrible. the onion rings were just as bad as the shrimp so over cooked you couldn't even taste the onion in it. The grilled cheese was the BEST part, go figure considering it's the easiest thing to make. The guy behind the counter was so busy on his phone he ignored the 4 people in line behind me. I've been to the Pops on Niles many times so I decided to see how the one on Taft Hwy compares now that I live in the Southwest. I called in the order after reading about long drive thru wait times and hearing the same from friends who said they spent 20 mins in the drive thru. So I thought, heck no, I'm calling it in. I did call it in and they said 5 minutes so I headed right over. It was hard to understand the man on the phone, but I wasn't sure if he got my order right, even though I asked more than once for him to repeat it. I pulled up to the speaker in the drive thru and another gentleman repeated my order but half was missing. Glad I asked. They still got my order out in about 5-8 mins. Everything was there, and the drive thru guy was very friendly. I looooove pastrami, so I decided to try it. It was just ok. The bread and the mustard had more flavor than the actual pastrami though. And with pastrami, it is supposed to be full of flavor but these slices were pretty thin and lacked the usual flavor I'm used to with Golden Ox, or even my dad's homemade recipe. So really, I'd probably rather drive to the golden Ox on white lane next time I want a pastrami. As far as the other food, the hamburgers were ok, and the corn dogs just your typical corn dogs. Fries were pretty good though! We love our crinkle fries and we did enjoy those. Overall, the visit was acceptable. There aren't as many old fashioned burger joints in the South west as there are on the east side, so considering we don't want to drive far, we might go back when we're craving fries and milkshakes. read more

I have been eating at this place since I was a kid. The new owners have changed more than just the name. Now the cups are different which allow the ice in your soda or milkshake melt faster. They also cook the fries longer and they are no longer a favorite. They have also lost the personal small town touch that this drive-in was known for. read more

We LOVE Pops!!! While driving home to Glendora from Clovis, I craved a burger so I Yelped "best burger" and Pop's was number one and we discovered -for good reason. So now, we live in Clovis, just moved up in October 2019, but we still work our jobs (I am an RN) every other week in LA area..... so since we discovered how bombay Pop's fast food is, we almost stop either on our way down or on our way up ....the chimichangas are one of our FAVS, the tacos are a guilty pleasure .... now don't expect a Mexican restaurant style taco, it's more like a Jack in the Box taco on crack! Hot dogs are a must (cut open and grilled like we prefer!) and although you kinda have to wait for your food, it always hits the spot when you just want something simple but tasty! Always.
