I can't speak to the food or inside service. The gas station portion needs attention. We have lived in Arcadia just over a year and stop for gas a few times per week. The air has been out of order for as long as my husband and I can recall, there is never liquid in the reservoir to wash vehicle windows, paper towel holders are empty & the trash is often overflowing. This is a landmark location with a lot of traffic and exposure but I feel it's not putting its best foot forward. I hope this makes it to management so adjustments can be made. read more

Cute place to pop into. If you're a soda connosouir, they probably have any kind you might think you want! I'm not, but my friend is and she put together a cool 6 pack to bring home. Server was great! She helped out this gal who just can't eat a 1/3 pound burger - HUGE. The kids burger is a 1/4 pound burger - big for a kiddo, too! Suggestion- have a senior menu selection with meals that can be eaten by those of us with smaller appetites so no food wasted. Doesn't even need to be a big selection, just some smaller portions. Otherwise, we had a great time. One interesting question we had - what's up with the trap door in the restroom? Toasted Jalapeno Corn Bread equals wheat bread with Jalapenos here. Ok So this is more of a heads up review. The sounds of a messy burger on jalapeno corn bread had me excited... until it arrived. It was a Texas toast with jalapenos in it. When i talked with the server she said they get that complaint all the time but the manager won't change the menu. I give it 5 stars because it is such a fun stop and I love the variety of sodas even though I am not typically a soda drinking gal. My husband visited with me for the first time tonight and we ate dinner at the diner too. The food I would give 3 stars. The queso is not good. Their fries are good and their burgers are alright. After my review a few years ago we decided to try Pops again. I can update that this will be our final Pops experience. From my last update I could tell the bottles have been cleaned better, but the food was mediocre and for the price there are so many better places that we can visit. If I was there again, it would be just for the convenience store aspect of the place. We discovered Pop's in 2015 and recently revisited it. They have a crazy big selection of sodas you've never seen or heard of before. They also have a diner with burgers and such. The burger I enjoyed had BBQ sauce and bacon. Their dessert menu was impressive as well. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I remember when this place was so nice when it first opened. I would say for 10 years it was well kept and food was really good and fresh, but now it's disappointing. Burgers are overdone and dry. I will say the positive things are their onion rings and sweet potato fries. I feel like this place should be kept up better and live up to its iconic location off Route 66. Their bathrooms are also not well kept. The women's ceiling is falling apart and toilets don't flush properly, and toilet paper and paper towels are not well stocked. I have always been interested in the different stops along Route 66, so it felt like a must to check out Pop's while in OKC. This gas station/diner is a popular spot to grab brunch/lunch, and is also home to over 700 soda flavors you can purchase! It was a ton of fun getting to browse through the different kinds and mix and match them. I also really love their back patio - It's a cute little green space with picnic benches where you can enjoy your soda selection! Don't forget to get your photo with the giant soda bottle outside! This place is a tourist attraction, road trip stop, restaurant, store all in one! Very cool place. When you are arriving to pops, you're going to be looking for a giant soda bottle out front ( it lights up at night ). Once you park, you'll notice how the building is all glass and lined with soda bottles! Very neat! Once you go in, it's like a old time diner. It's got that feel. I personally thought the food was ok. Loved all the soda options tho! I had basic chicken strips and mashed potatoes. My mother on the other hand, thought the food was amazing. So you decide! "Pop" is another name for soda and yes, Pops is a soda shop carried dozens (hundreds?) of different local and regional sodas from all across America. Most of them chilled in the coolers, some room temperature on the shelves. The place was PACKED. Not just every table filled with people eating but also people digging into coolers to put together their perfect six pack of soda. There is a large parking lot and they also sell gas. Stopped by this Oklahoma landmark after a long time of having it on the "to do" list. We concur with other reviews that the food is just okay. We got the Nashville Chicken sandwich and it was more of a mole sauce rather than Nashville hot. The Ultimate Chicken Sandwich was average and the poblano avocado ranch was probably better suited for a taco. However, our server was attentive and friendly and the real stars of the show were our root beer floats. Delicious! We also got the pickle chips and they were very good, if not a bit salty. Fun ambiance too with all the different sodas you can get to bring home. All in all, we were glad we came to visit finally but probably won't rush back, unless we're getting dessert! read more

Pops is a really cool place to stop off the highway to grab some old candy and view/purchase from an assortment of off the wall soda drinks! The fridge sodas are organized by type (grape, cream, etc). There is a little restaurant area but we didn't have a chance to try it out. I like that they have the gas pumps out in front so you can fill up with gas and fill up with candy and soda! We stopped in just before 7pm on a Saturday night and it was decently busy inside. This is a neat little spot! I love sodas so as soon as I walked in, felt like I was in heaven with the selection. They have so many sodas, it was hard to choose. I ended up buying two of the 6-packs so that I could choose 12 sodas. I wish they had "crazy" flavors, but if they did they were hard to find. The bottles on the wall are just for display, so you pick out your sodas from the refrigerated section. I also grabbed some food from the diner, but it took so long...almost 30 minutes to get our food (grilled cheese, queso fries, peanut butter malt milkshake abs bread pudding). I was not a big fan of the bread pudding, but highly recommend the fries and shakes. My BIGGEST ISSUE is that it felt unsafe right now during COVID times. They don't require masks and most of the employees were not wearing masks. It added to my anxiety when it got crowded, and most folks not wearing masks. I had this place on my radar on a recent business trip to the OKC area and was able to stop by before heading to the airport even though it was in the opposite direction. I was able to find 8 root beers that I haven't tried...bad news is that they were mostly blah tasting. I didn't recognize the spot at first and thought it was another business because it comes up fairly quickly after exiting the freeway and heading east. There are many sodas lining the walls just about to the ceiling, which are full unopened bottles, but they're just for decoration. Most of their sodas for sale are in the refrigerated case along the west wall of the building, with a few convenience store shelves with room temperature sodas for sale. This is opposite from most soda shops ive visited which mostly have their for sale sodas at room temperature and only a limited selection that are refrigerated. As with many soda shops, there is a different selection between the room temp sodas and the refrigerated ones. Most of the root beers are located in the refrigerated section. There is also a small diner within the eastern portion of the building that several people were eating at. Not sure about the food since I didn't try it, but there isn't much competition in the area obviously. read more

The cheeseburger was ok but if you're traveling 66, you'd be better off going to El Reno and having a much better burger. Traveling old Route 66, we stopped at Pops to use the bathroom, get gas, and stretch our legs because we were intrigued by the giant neon bottle out front. Turns out this little 50s themed convenience market has a restaurant and a huge inventory of artisan sodas! The bathroom was clean, and there's a nice outdoor area where you can stretch and decompress on your road trip. I was concerned because hardly anyone was wearing a mask properly, so I would not feel safe dining here or hanging out for a longer period of time. Customers and employees looked at us funny because we were wearing our masks (because we choose to trust science). The gas is overpriced so if you can wait it out, hang on for about 5-10 miles down the road and go to one of the mainstream truck stops that are closer to the interstate if you want to save about 30 to 50 cents per gallon. Soda lovers will enjoy looking at all the specialty bottles for sale! There are hundreds of special soft drinks, with cool labels and flavors. We had to search and search to find the very, very small diet / sugar free soda section, but we found a diet root beer and a diet cream soda, both from the "Yacht Club Soda Company." The sodas cost around $2.25 each, so they aren't a bargain. But our sodas were cold and refreshing, a a fun little taste of nostalgia that made the perfect refreshment for our Route 66 adventure! Pops also has a good selection of retro candy, so be sure to check it out if your sweet tooth is speaking to you. You'll find everything from Goo Goo Clusters to candy cigarettes (which I haven't seen in ages). Minus a couple of stars because of the high-ish prices and the lax COVID precautions. read more

Rachel helped us and it was so much fun! She was super friendly and we had a blast picking out different sodas. They have a 'pick six' for around $15 which is pretty decent considering all the different options for sodas! We are also participating in the Route 66 passport program (Visit OKC Tourism Center for details on the awesome, free program!). We got stamps for our passports! We went at night because we knew the lights would be cooler. But the restaurant was closed and we wanted dessert :( Overall it was a great experience but we went a super crowded time and it was a tad nerve wracking with two kiddos in tow. Holy begeezus I don't even drink soda! Sorry POP. They say they have 700 kinds...um...where? I found many kinds but 700??? I know there were ones on display that I didn't see in the coolers. But that's fine I still managed to pick out 6 pops. I picked out caramel, chocolate, hazelnut (what? Holy crow is it delicious!) strawberry and cream, red cream and black cherry cream. I was hoping to find something super weird or crazy like peanut butter bacon soda. But nope...just normal stuff nothing too wacky. It was brightly lit. Clean. Mask wearing NOT enforced. I liked the food a lot. I just got a hot dog. But it was good as far as hot dogs go one of the better ones I e had! And stupid me with all the sodas I get...wait for it...a Diet Coke! Wtf?? What is wrong with me??? I also stupidly got the bread pudding made with sauce from the round barn's own root beer. What the what? I should have skipped the hot dog and just concentrated on that! It was so good and so big I knew I was not going to eat most of it. The server was awesome. I had a great experience here! And the neon bottle outside...that's really neat! This review is only on Pops Soda , we did not eat here when we visited a couple years ago. When you walk in to the left is the cafe and to the right is the small store with hundreds of sodas, every kind imaginable. You will find snacks and merchandise if you just want something small to munch on. Grab a soda carrier and pick out a 6 pack or you can just buy them individual. They are all the same price so I don't think you get any discount. If you happen to visit during the day you will miss the giant soda bottle that is lit up at night. Super cool to see, had to make another trip for that. You can bring your fur babies, they have a nice grassy area. They just can't be in the picnic bench side. Tons of parking spaces. I love Pops. Been going there for 20+ years, and it's exactly the same now as it was then, for better and worse. Honestly, I don't come here for the food, although it's pretty decent for a greasy burger! The main we come here is for well, the pops! They have a giant selection including some of my favorites and some hard to find varieties. Their prices are very fair and it keeps us coming back. If ever there is a complaint, it's that things get kinda tight when they're busy. I'd recommend coming during an off hour or a week day, otherwise it's elbow to elbow and makes for an uncomfortable time when trying to sort through the hundreds of sodas. Wow...this is Pops...an iconic roadside restaurant/landmark/attraction right along famous Route 66 in Arcadia, Oklahoma. To be more exact...Pops is located about 22 miles north of Oklahoma City off Interstate 35 (I-35). For all those visiting OKC for the first time (like I was) I'd recommend stopping on by here as it's not too far away. Pops is good for a 1/2-day trip combined with doing a portion of the Route 66 drive to get a real feel understanding for being in the heartland of the good ole USA. So...you're probably wondering why I gave this place only 3 stars??? I visited Pops back on Monday, Labor Day, 2021 and it was packed with visitors! It was virtually impossible to even move around inside! Ugh...frustrating. Initially I thought I'd come here to relax, hang out, have lunch and enjoy the 1950's - 60's setting of an old-fashioned diner. But...the line just waiting to be sat down was impossible. Okay so...well, the real reason I came here anyways was to try out the tons of selections of soda pops. I thought the whole premise was terrific. I was very excited in anticipation. If anyone has ever been to Atlanta and toured the World of Coca-Cola Factory Museum...and if they've appreciated Coke World...then this Pops is sort of similar in all the aspects of offering old time, under the radar mom and pop brand sodas. That's what you can expect to discover here, having a fun refreshment and purchasing some bottles to take home with you as souvenirs/gifts for yourself, family and or friends. Since it was beyond busy...I mean, I must have been here around 2pm and even just trying to pick a 6-pack of soda to take for the road was difficult. And that's because of too many tourists. Funny, it was like all the refrigerator shelves were being emptied. This place was so popular. Overall, it was just very difficult to not even bump into strangers when trying to find your favorite bottles to choose from. And especially during these pandemic times...no one was wearing a mask. I felt kind of guilty like a sin for sort of being surrounded by too many people. In the end, I just picked a poor day to visit. I'd certainly suggest coming here during off peak times during the week and out of season. Some notes and details... - Pops is open 7 days a week. Store hours are 6am - 10pm. Restaurant hours are 10:30am - 9pm. Breakfast is served Saturdays and Sundays from 7am - 10:30am. - You can also purchase gasoline here. - Pops is good for a midday stop no matter what you are doing. - There's the giant-sized soda bottle situated just outside the store/restaurant. Everyone was taking a photo with this as sort of a memorable moment. - You can buy the bottled sodas individually as many as you'd like. What most people were doing was taking a 6-pack plastic cartridge and loading up with their favorite choices. I'd say this was the most popular method. - They also have pre-packaged 6-pack and 10-pack containers where Pops picks out their bestselling sodas and they're ready to-go without any hassles. - I can't believe I forgot prices, but I believe a 6-pack sold for $15 ...$2.50 per bottle. - They sell sodas from a giant refrigerator plus room temperature bottles from the store shelves. - If you love root beer then you'll be happy to know they feature all sorts of brands. I'd definitely say root beer was their most varied selection. - Pops is not just a restaurant/soda joint...they also sell apparel, hats, and miscellaneous souvenirs for kids and the entire family. Although it was difficult maneuvering around the store with so many people trying to buy sodas, I decided to purchase 6 root beers for myself which was relatively easy. My big problem was picking 6 diet sodas to bring home to my parents. Pops' choices of diet sodas were so minimal. The selections they did have were sort of flavored diet sodas and for my parents who are basic/plain diet soda drinkers...I knew picking 6 would be a challenge. Ultimately, I had to double up on a few of my picks. I also bought a couple of magnets and postcards. In total, with 12 bottles bought and some take-home gifts, I spent about $45. Along with snapping a couple of photos with the soda bottle outside and after getting myself organized with finding what to buy inside amid the mass hysteria of visitors, I probably spent close to 2 hours here. Crazy, but I got it done. Finally, the taste of all my root beers were just fine. The brands were definitely unique and the outer labels were attractive, but these old-fashioned mom and pop brands tasted like your regular ole root beers, like Mug or Barq's. I guess for me, I had higher expectations for being transported back to simpler times. Lol, I never got there. My parents hated their diet sodas. They drank 1 of the 6 bottles and the others went down the drain. I guess Pops does not specialize in diet. On Oklahoma Route 66, I stopped off between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and actually went 20 miles out of my way to see it. Definitely worth it. Lots of fun sodas to try, from bacon flavored to vomit flavored to the more traditional cherry, orange etc. I imagine anything you could want is here. There is also a cafe that serves burgers and typical greasy fare. They have Route 66 trinkets and souvenirs. This place also has gas pumps and reportedly the world's largest soda bottle sculpture, which is a really fun neon photo op at night. read more

The glass bottled pop is fun. The food started great with the pickle fries but it was downhill from there. I ordered the grilled southwest chicken dinner. It honestly should have never made it out of the kitchen. Food was spoiled. Chicken was rancid. I took one bite because... well, that's what I ordered. Mistake. The next 24 hours was... miserable. I told my waitress about the smell and taste. They took my meal off of my bill. All in all, I love Rootbeer and they always have a great variety. Expensive but fun.
