The place is deceptively small from the street, but has quite a lot of room and a rooftop patio. My wife had a Hudson and some cucumber salad, and I ordered the monthly roast beef special and some tomato soup. Everything was excellent. I suspect there are no bad choices here. We're looking forward to going back next time we're ripping down I-35. The dogs are, too.

The menu board had plenty of options that caught my eye, but I knew the mission when I walked through the door -- BURGER! I ordered the Oklahoma Smashie, a double smash burger with two beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Goose Sauce. This was a very tasty burger! The patties had those crispy edges you want from a smash burger, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the pickles and sauce pulled everything together. For my side, I went with the cucumber salad. I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was the slight disappointment of the meal. It wasn't bad, it just didn't hit the same level as that burger. The Goose describes itself as a dive bar and sandwich shop, but I actually found the place pretty interesting. It has that comfortable neighborhood-joint feel -- nothing fancy, just a cool place to sit down, grab some food and enjoy lunch with a friend. Service was also excellent. The person working the counter was friendly, answered all of our questions and offered some great suggestions without rushing us. Overall: 4 's from me. The Oklahoma Smashie definitely delivered, and looking at everything else on that menu, I've already got a few reasons to come back. This one is absolutely getting a return visit!

Inside is just as fun--there are rows and rows of bottled sodas in seemingly every flavor imaginable. Some are familiar favorites, while others are unusual enough to make you wonder who came up with them! The soda selection and gift shop make it a fun place to browse, take photos, and pick up a few Route 66 souvenirs. Where Pops fell short for us was the restaurant. There wasn't nearly enough seating for the number of people wanting to eat, we waited a long time for our food, and unfortunately the meal itself was mediocre at best. With the higher prices, the food simply didn't feel worth the wait or cost. I'd definitely stop at Pops again--but next time I'd skip the restaurant. Come for the unique architecture, giant soda bottle, fun gift shop, and incredible selection of sodas. Grab a few interesting bottles for the road and continue your Route 66 adventure!

Help a Homie is where people can donate a meal, they put the receipt on the wallboard, and if someone is down on their luck needing a meal they can grab a receipt to eat for free! Food came quickly with large portions, especially for the price. The prices are very reasonable for bbq in this day and age. The owner came out and talked with each patron individually and was very welcoming. When he found out I came specifically to eat, he ran into the other room and brought me a couple of mugs and a to go menu to have if I was ever driving through. He was very nice and I enjoyed the conversation. Some might think he's trying a bit too hard, but I thought it was a nice touch. Especially since he seemed very genuine in his excitement to meet everyone. The 4 M sandwich is a 4 meat sandwich with brisket, Pulled pork, bologna, and sausage, on a very sturdy bun. The meat was all good, except the brisket was a little over done. But not really a big deal, as the sandwich was pretty good.
