Delicious, diner style food and down-home hospitality. We arrived only an hour before they closed not knowing what to expect, having never been there before. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated quickly. We ordered very different dishes from one another; Enchiladas and the Sooner Burger. Five minutes later, the waiter brought out freshly fried chips and homemade salsa large enough for the two of us (came with the enchiladas). The half pound hamburger with bacon and cheese was amazing with a nice smoky flavor and thick cut bacon. The huge portion of enchiladas was also tasty enough to have been served at a Mexican restaurant. We'll definitely be coming back anytime we're in the area! read more

You get what ya get here and you don't throw a fit! Good honest people trying their hardest! Amazing pie selection, great service, and a wide variety menu. Loved their specialty dinner nights (just wasn't hungry enough for the Italian dinner when I came), loved the booths, and LOVED LOVED LOVED the "pay it forward" board where you could pay for someone's future dinner. I wouldn't say my grilled chicken was anything to write home about, but if one is traveling down the interstate looking for a place to eat that isn't fast food, I would recommend stopping in here. The service was top notice. The wait staff were very personable. Their coffee was SO good and for someone who doesn't normally drink coffee at restaurants due to it being too strong this says a lot. A lot of doubts when approaching this place. The last place we have eaten was a superbly crafted dish of food poisoning. My ill self wandered into this establishment with thoughts of last night's horror. With squelching stomach in 102° weather, I pushed into this diner. The half rack of rib with baked beans and potato salad was delicious. Followed by a slice of the most scrumptious peach pie! Stop in and enjoy this place. This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Oklahoma. Nothing fancy just really good home cooking, it's one of those old school truck stops. Friday is seafood night. I got catfish dinner $9.99 (all you can eat) and my wife got surf and turf $14.99. They also have a very small salad bar which is really really good. Don't forget to grab a cookie! I personally didn't like the place at all. Probably I have a different opinion about shredded brisket. I'm so sorry but that was the most disgusting food I've ever tried. After that meet look I didn't want to have meet in a while. My mom ordered fajitas, they where so plain and kinda tasteless. Reuben was supper fatty. I wouldn't stop at this place to eat, in that case I'd rather go to Macdonald'a at least I know what kind of food I can except there. read more

Tried something new. Have seen this place for years and finally stopped in. Lots of people. They had a Sunday buffet for $9.99. Fried chicken, catfish, pot roast, pork chops and more. That's just what my husband tried. All was very good. He was impressed with the REAL mashed potatoes. Salad and desserts came with it as well. I had a chicken fry steak sandwich which was a real minute steak not a frozen, breaded patty. Staff was super nice. We will be back! read more

My girlfriend and I stopped here on our way back to wichita after a quick visit to Guthrie. This unassuming diner is a GEM. Living in the city, I get my fair share of exposure to restaurants, but I can confidently say that this place had the BEST meat lovers omelet I've EVER had. This place is proof that the best breakfast food will ALWAYS live in middle American with its country folk. I'll start off by saying that the 1 star is only because the staff was nice. The food was terrible. We actually ended up having to go buy fast food after because of how bad it was. My friend ordered the Chicken fried steak and it was pink inside, tasteless, and was not prepared well, she basically ate the coating only out of desperation. I got the hamburger steak, which until I ate here, was something I believed was hard to mess up. The meat was flavorless, tough, and I can only assume reheated or old by how bad it was. The green beans were the only highlight, they were good. Salad bar closed early and we never got the rolls that came with our meal. I'd look elsewhere. read more

Sooner's Corner has received some bad reviews here and they seemed to be from one time diners. I have eaten there hundreds of times over the years, and yes, every once in awhile the cook or the waitress will suck, but that can happen anywhere. I live in the town and they are my favorite of all the local restaurants. The variety on the menu is huge, much of the food is homemade, the portions are generous and the prices are as competitive as can be in these messed up times. The owner isn't one of the kinds that only shows up to count the till, she's the tiny little gal with an apron on back in the kitchen busily making the great food. Also, she is a hometown gal who actively supports the various school and league fundraisers. Everything from the anytime breakfast to the buffet is good and the pies are a slice of heaven. I highly recommend Sooner's Corners and now I'm hungry....May have to head out that way. and read more

We went on Monday, we both ordered hashbrowns and sausage in addition to our lunch. The hashbrowns were COLD in spots and were LEFT OVER from breakfast or the day before ! Unchewable ! Hard dehydrated burnt in spots ! I informed the waitress that I'd rather not pay for something I couldn't even chew let alone eat, she promptly agreed and did inform cookie to throw them out they were disgusting. What baffles me is how on earth would ANYONE put that nasty stuff in a plate and try to serve it !? Obviously the cook couldn't care less, the waitress was very accommodating and this had nothing to do with her service. It's sad as I've went here off and on for 50 years and this blatant disregard to plate quality food we certainly expect to have. I can't help but believe this practice extends further than just hashbrowns. Even our plain basic staple type meals we ordered didn't meat garden variety restaurants standards.
