Driving through Oklahoma yesterday, we stopped at the Boomarang Diner in Perry. This was the first time we had ever stopped there. I had breakfast - eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a pancake. My wife had the Dagwood sandwich. She said it was very good. She asked for crispy bacon almost burnt. They honored her request. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It reminds you of the old diners back in the 60's and 70's. I highly recommend this place. When I travel through Oklahoma on my way to visit relatives in Nebraska, I will stop again. read more

Everything was amazing! Lots of nostalgia on the walls and a clean atmosphere. Fried pickles were tasty and crispy, The JJ burger & the double bacon cheeseburger were absolutely delicious, the boom yays were yummy and the fried peach pie with ice cream was the best I have ever tasted! Stopped here on our way south on 35. The food was good and reasonably priced. I had the pancake meal, my wife had the chicken tenders, and my grandma had the fish sandwich. Everyone said they would go again so I think that speaks for itself. read more

Excellent diner! Passing through from Texas to Nebraska and went here for dinner. Parking lot was full but we got a table immediately and had prompt service. I had a Reuben which was great and husband had crispy wings which he really enjoyed. Pickle chips were great too! Pancake man made us a special pancake. Very personable! read more

The service moved this review from a four to a five. Super friendly folks who served up some tasty food quickly. Sat in a booth and enjoyed the retro diner vibe. Photos of Audrey Hepburn, Elvis, Carey Grant, and the rest adorned the walls in the red, black, white scheme you'd expect. Hubby had the chicken fried steak breakfast. He opted for the biscuit and gravy. He strongly recommends upgrading to the sausage gravy. It was hot, creamy, loaded with sausage and just the right level of spice. For a huge change of pace, I chose the pancake plate. Two pancakes, an egg, and sausage. I ate the middle out of my cakes, because they were large, and I barely made a dent. My hubs ate some once I finished. They were hot, fluffy, and sweet. Egg cooked perfectly. With pancakes, they bring you a bowl of little wrapped margarines and hand you an entire bottle of their syrup. It was kind of charming - like sitting at a friend's kitchen table. We were impressed with the prices. We noticed a drive thru window. You can order ahead of you are passing by, but we enjoyed the brief stop seated inside. read more

This diner is great! From the ambiance to the cleanliness to the taste of the food and the service...5 stars. This place is what diners are all about! My husband had the hamburger plate which he would have changed by asking for the gravy on the side - it was delicious gravy, just too much for his taste. I ordered the KV burger which was delicious. The fries were also very tasty. The only thing I'd change is offering malts and cane sodas...that would take this place over the top!!! Vicky is one of their waitresses an older lady who works rings around the young ones that they have working there very sweet and makes you feel right at home however the other ones working there most of them are rude and act like they are put out to have to wait on you I would suggest that the owners need to pay more attention to these young lazy waitresses otherwise this restaurant is a great place read more

A gem of a find! We first stumbled across the Boomerang while searching for another restaurant! It was love at first bite- and a double bonus that it was $5 burger night! Stopped into the diner to get a quick dinner when I was passing through, and wasn't impressed. There were 3 tables seated at the time, and 4 servers hovering around the cash register chatting and giggling to themselves. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Fries don't come with the meal. Nothing comes with it. It has to be ordered separately. The burger cost $8.29. What arrived was a smashburger, roughly ¼" thick and the size of a McDonald's simple hamburger (essentially fits in the palm of your hand). Wish I had taken a picture of it in my hand. Aside from that, the place was clean, well lit, and pleasant. If you're ok with Pepsi products, give it a try. read more

My family and I were staying in Perry for the night and stopped at Boomarangs Diner about 45 minutes before it closed. The staff was very friendly and had great suggestions on what to eat. The chicken fried steak was great and just the right portion and the shakes and fried pies were awesome as well. I grew up eating at diners so its nice to still see diner style restaurants. They have such a great vibe and ambiance. I will definitely make a point to stop by and grab a bite when I pass through town again. read more

We are doing a food trip from Minnesota to Texas. We stopped in the town of Perry Oklahoma and found this little gem. We later found out that it's a chain in Oklahoma but this doesn't feel like a chain. They make you feel like family. We started with the 50/50 for an appetizer. This was a mix of fried mushrooms and fried pickles. The pickles were good and salty both had a crispy coating. We also had the real Reuben sandwich. Good amount of meat and the corned beef was tender and juicy. I would have loved more 1000 island but I love sauces. We also had the chicken fried steak toaster. This was a massive sandwich. Again a good crispy coating and well flavored meat. The last thing we had was the frito chili pie supreme. Frito chips topped with chili, cheese, lettuce and tomato. The chili was extremely flavorful! I love sauce and when you ask for extra sauce the bring the whole container! Service was top notch. Greeted immediately and food came out fast. Quaint diner with yummy food and a friendly staff. We ordered the KV burger, grilled chicken sandwich, onion rings, and a fried strawberry pie. The food was cooked perfectly and the temperature was as it should be. The staff was very friendly. I was brought the fried chicken sandwich instead of the grilled sandwich and they quickly remedied the mistake and comped the sandwich even after we said it was no problem. That was above and beyond! Lived in OK for 21 years and not sure if we had ever eaten at a Boomerang. There is not much up I-35 so we decided to stop and try it. It was super cold in there but really enjoyed the great service and excellent food. The fish sandwich was amazing. read more

While on the road between Kansas and Texas, hubby and I were Looking for a place to have lunch in Perry, ok. Drove right past the Boom.a.rang diner. We made a u-turn in street and headed back, cause we couldn't find anything else but fast food joints . We were not disappointed. I had a fried stead sandwich that tasted like fried stead sandwiches use to taste. Hubby got a cheeseburger he said was great, as were the fries. We ended the lunch with a fried pie. My husband and I went in for lunch. The atmosphere was light and welcoming! It was so nice to sit and joke with our waitress! Unfortunately I can't remember her name but we actually interacted with a few different staff members and all were fantastic. The appetizer came out before the meal, like it's supposed to! (some restaurants serve it with the meal) He had a cheeseburger, fried mushrooms and a strawberry malt. He loved all of it! I had the ultimate BLT ( it was LOADED with bacon!)with french fries and fried pickles. All of which tasted amazing!
