If you are looking for fresh, made from scratch, down home cooking, this is your place. The meatloaf is my favorite, but everything I have tried has been delicious. The desserts are amazing as well. The owner is just an all around great guy, and always comes around to visit with everyone and to make sure the food is satisfactory. When you walk in, you're greeted by the friendliest employees that are clearly excited to be serving you their food. I had been craving meatloaf for DAYS and this place had a loaf just as good as my grandma's! I dove right in to my food before I could remember to take any photos. Additionally, the decor was so homey and cozy... I felt like I was just hanging out in my friend's parent's kitchen having a home-cooked meal. Stopped in on game night with the only expectation of being able to find an open table. We were blown away! The staff was so incredibly friendly. There were several meats and vegetables to choose from and we decided on a delicious two meat, 3 vegetable plate with salad and bread. The food and service was outstanding. Bonus, if you have a student at OSU having trouble finding vegetables to eat at on campus dining this is a great option. This was my family's first time to visit Roscoe's. Love the atmosphere when we walked in! The waitress greeted us pleasantly and asked if we'd ever been there before. When she found out we hadn't, she explained how the buffet worked. I got one meat (meatloaf) and two sides. My husband and son got two meats with 3 sides. The food was delicious! We even shared one of their yummy desserts! Not disappointed! The owner, I believe, came to check us out and stood there and chatted with us for a few minutes. A very nice man! Roscoe's is truly is authentic homestyle cooking. In fact, the food reminded me of the meals I ate at my grandmother's. But, she wasn't a particularly great cook and certainly didn't put a lot of effort making her meals special. She would boil a chicken and coat it with some BBQ sauce and put it on my plate. And that's pretty much what Roscoe's does I have two big gripes about this restaurant. First, the food is very unseasoned and reminiscent of the entrees you get at Furr's Cafeteria. Also, they don't strain the food adequately before plopping it on your plate, so your entrees swim in a soup of juices. My wife ordered the chicken leg, and it was rather scrawny. I had the meatloaf and sausage and both were... bland. Since I had the all-you-can-eat ($14), I certainly had enough to eat. My wife complained about her portion size, however. The price was fine and the service was beyond friendly. But, it's just not a place I will go when I'm in the mood for going out. They need to pick up some more tasty recipes and strain the food better when serving it. read more

But no one back there do we sat down and the server said we pick an entree with a side. Or was it 2 sides? The whole thing was confusing. So we had to go up there and pick what we wanted. Made a quick call to make sure we could still grab a bite to eat and we were assured we'd be taken care of. WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT!
