I usually have a great experience at Pops; however, this was my first time coming since COVID. I understand going out in the middle of a pandemic is not the smartest, but my roommate and I decided to treat ourselves after having a long week of exams and, since most places have had great COVID guidelines, we chose Pops in hopes for the good food, fun atmosphere, and quality social distancing. Upon arriving, I realized that masks were optional and, based off observation, only about 2-3 employees were wearing them. They had labels on the ground for social distancing, but they weren't being followed. The tables and outside seating areas were also all being filled--once again not following distance guidelines whatsoever. Because of this, we ultimately ended up leaving before getting food-but I felt I should still leave this review in case others were considering eating here under the same assumptions I had. Once again, I usually have a great experience at Pops, but, if you care at all about your health or the health of others, please consider going somewhere that actually cares about their customers and employees before coming here and waiting 70 minutes for an average meal with a side of coronavirus. read more

I have never been so disappointed in service. Our server's name was Tylie. She first greeted us with a smile and asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered the OKC Burger and Chili Burger. Then a minute later, she was sat with a two top. She took their drinks and orders. After she got their drinks, she was sat with another two top. This was all within a span of 10 minutes. About 5 minutes later, the first two top got their food. Then the next 5 minutes, the other table got their food. She believed their food and asked for any refills or any other condiments. We patiently waited for ours. We didn't ask or anything. I noticed she went to the computer to place an order without getting another table. After waiting another 5 minutes, we asked for the ETA for our food. She called our food on the spot, then had someone else run our food. We had to ask another server for condiments. When checking out, she went in a line and passed our the checks to each table. Then when checking out, she did not thank us for coming in or apologized that we had to wait for our food for over 25 minutes (even though the tables around us got their food in 8-12 minutes of ordering). Now lets talk about food. I ordered the OKC Burger. The meat of the burgers were cooked well and juicy. However, the flavor of all the vegetables was not my favorite. We really enjoyed the fried okra. I would definitely skip the restaurant and just grab your soda and head out. read more

I would rate the food 0/5 if I could We saw that the people around us had barely touched their food, so we decided to start off with an appetizer. Luckily, that's all we needed to try before deciding to not order anything else. It was mostly compiled of burgers hot dogs and a few other meals. It took me a while to get out here- it's not like it's super far away... But I'm glad I made it (now several times). The 6 pack - pick your own, is a little pricey but if you choose wisely, it's definitely worth it. Don't pick the sodas you can get at the grocery store or Whole Foods; go with the strange or international brands. My favorite brand is Hot Lips - they use lightly sparkling water (not processed carbonated) and real fruit puree and juice to make their super fruity and fresh sodas. Try the marionberry, pear, lemon or red raspberry! The food isn't too bad - reminds me of diner food. the burgers are pretty tasty! I've heard the breakfast is pretty amazing, but I am not a morning person so I don't plan on drive 1.5 hrs to get there by 8 am... The soda light statue is pretty cool, especially at night. Take an afternoon -preferably not on the weekend as it's busier, and drive out here. while you're out this way, go by the big red round barn. :) read more

Well this is a bad review is because of poor waitstaff, they just dont care there. I feel people want to dine out so tgey can relax and enjoy and when your waitor talks down to u and tells u to move if they have a party needing the table after just spending $50 on crap food. Going to a place like Pops for anything other than its namesake is silly. Complaining about a place like Pops after you get anything other than its namesake makes you a bit of a jerk. I was trying to be delicate about this, but that didn't turn out well... Sure, they have food, but that's not the main reason you go (I hope not). I used to drive here (from UCO) with friends every few weeks just for fun. Browsing through the selection of drinks is in itself an enjoyable experience. I didn't even know what Sarsaparilla was until I went to Pops. The drinks range from fizzy and delicate, to downright decadent and dangerous. I got one that was basically a root beer float in bottle form; it nearly caused blindness because of how rich and sweet it was.* If you want to make your experience particularly interesting, go with friends and each of you try to pick a drink for someone other than yourself. Then grab the most awful looking thing you can find. For example, buy the bacon-flavored, buffalo wing-flavored, and PB&J-flavored sodas. Combine them. Give them to a friend and tell them it's Strawberry or something. Let some brief hilarity ensue. The drinks are kind of pricey, but that's to be expected for what's essentially a tourist trap in the middle of nowhere. Long story short -- this is a gas station with a lot of soda on the inside of it service station store. It's huge! They have over 200 different types of sodas costing $2.19 a pop. You can mix and match the different kinds of sodas that come in 6 packs. There is no limit to how many you can have though. As far as dining, they have a full service restaurant on the inside of the service station. You are likely going to have a short wait if you want a table or booth seating versus them putting you at the bar. Service and food were mediocre. I would highly recommend getting the sodas for the purpose of this visit and skip dining here. At $2.19 per bottle, you can afford to taste sodas that you otherwise wouldn't encounter. They have cardboard 6-pack containers so you can blow your money in convenient increments of 6. They also sell shirts, other souvenirs and candy. A portion of the establishment is devoted to serving food, which actually looked pretty good. They have some strange gross looking ones alongside the delicious sounding ones haha. I think I even saw a ranch flavored soda in there. No I didn't try that one! This place is definitely a tourist attraction. I felt it was nothing special though. I mean, it's pretty big, as an idea that is, for Oklahoma. The soda is actually expensive and if you look at the bottles, it's basically all the same soda but with new crisp labels on all the bottles. It doesn't look like anything special in the sodas as they all appear to be bottled at the same company or something. The architecture and general layout is supposed to give off the vibe of an olde school soda/malt shop with a little bit of a contemporary spin on it, but other than that, nothing else here gives off 1950's glam or mystique. If you're eating at the restaurant, you have to usually wait quite a while to get a table and the ambience is like a loud tourist gift shop with small tables. It's always busy and at times hard to get a table. It would be nice if the maybe had some outdoor seating. Also, it's kind of out of the way. It's was a little bit of a drive from Edmond, but if you're coming from elsewhere, it's not really prime location, but why should Oklahoma City get all the glory, right? If you're travelling or trekking Route 66 though, this is definitely a rest stop. I guess it brings people out to Arcadia though and at least you can get gas before you go. read more

My husband warned me in advance that this place is not known for its great food. It's a Route 66 destination known for the ridiculous soda selection. I mean, makes sense if you're on a long drive to eat and fill up at one stop. Think Flo's from the movie cars. Diner and gas station. I ordered an item not on the menu with Jacobs recommendation--fried steak sandwich with cheese. Next time I would get it with no onion (or grilled onion) and a side of gravy. It was good, but just regular diner good. I had a cookies and cream milkshake that was dreamy. The kitchen accidentally made a coffee to start which was also fantastic, but I can't handle caffeine. We also bought a six pack of sodas--$13.29. Yeah, not cheap at $2.19 a bottle, but I look forward to trying new flavors. Overall good, worth the stop if you're on the drive, but I don't know that I would go out of my way to go back. And Jacob was amazing. So I've moved it from 3 stars to 4 because he was completely on top of everything. Pops is a great place to frequent your family or friends! Pops is an awesome little place everyone should visit if you come to Oklahoma. I had the grilled peanut butter and jelly...it was childhood memories delish. Our loot of 11 drinks and candies cost $35, kinda pricey but it was worth it...my kids enjoyed the different sodas. We got the vanilla cream soda made from egg cream(my favorite, it was like a vanilla ice cream), watermelon, 6 different cream sodas including a almond cream soda, and a strawberry rhubarb soda(my second fav). They had some really off the wall sodas as well, for example.... ranch dressing soda, Buffalo wing sauce soda, spicy explosive jalapeño soda, PB and jelly soda, and chocolate chip cookie dough soda . Store and selection are great, food not so much! Atmosphere for a restaurant is horrible, so many flies and everyone waiting in line for the store portion is on top of you (and your food)! So much space around the location, really should consider separating the two - store in front, restaurant in back! As for the food, my husband said it best "nothing to write home about"! This review is simply on the gas station/convenient store portion of Pops. I went out to Arcadia to take photos of the fantastic architecture for my photo class. I saw images on Google of that fabulous statue of a soda bottle w/ straw. I knew this was what I would do for one of my few portfolio subjects. I wasn't disappointed. This establishment is a fantastic dispay of thoughtful architecture. I'm not an architecture expert, I just really like the building. There are several gas pumps that are spaced wonderfully and conveniently. It's an ease to pull in and out of this area. There is also a bunch of parking to the east of the building. I loved the soda bottles carefully displayed in the windows and how the sunlight caught the colors. I went in and was blown away by their soda selection. They have boxes to create your own 6 pack. It's an expensive 6-pack at just over $2 per bottle the total was just over $14 for the 6-pack. I chose 6 different cream sodas, as this is my favorite flavor, for me to bring home and compare. When I checked out I was informed (after asking) that they had over 600 varieties of soda this week. That's pretty impressive! I'm excited to go back for a bison burger when my kiddo gets home from his summer travels. read more

Their food is awesome - and they have a variety of syrups to choose from so you can customize your own soda. I do a blackberry dr pepper when I go...awesome goodness sliding down every time. A friend told us that we had to go to Pop's if we were in the OKC area. They said that the bread pudding was "Made by Angels." We got there around 7 pm on a Friday night. We were pleasantly surprised that we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. But that gave us a chance to scout out the flavors of pop we were going to get after dinner for our road trip. We were seated & ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich & the bbq quesadilla, along with a few shakes & onion rings. The food came promptly & wow - we were again pleasantly surprised. We figured we were going to be sucked into another cheesy tourist trap with mediocre food, but we were wrong! The food was reasonably priced & very good. We ordered the bread pudding & tried to gorge ourselves into a diabetic coma, but we were too full to even finish it. We heated it up the next morning for breakfast! The only negative, other than just being a tourist stop, is that it's pretty chaotic in there. There's bottles on shelves all around the building & we were nervous we were going to hit them & cause them to fall. If you want a nice, quiet, romantic place to eat - this is not the place. Ok so my review might be a little different. In February of 2020 I was diagnosed with cancer. Not knowing how it would go we went to visit family. While we were in Oklahoma City we headed back to Kansas City, I knew of Pops from our son he visited it ten years ago on a trip to travel all of Route 66. So my husband and I stopped in. Pops was very busy but the staff was great even with covid19 running wild they handled it well. We ordered burgers and ate outside to avoid the crowds. The food was great I'll always remember it. Pops and especially the very friendly people made a very bad week a little better for me. Well yesterday was April 9th 2022 my 2 year anniversary of my first chemo. I am cancer free now and thought I wanted to go to Pops. Two years ago I wasn't sure if I would ever see it again. So we took our Harley Tri-glide and left Kansas City to go to Pops 66 in Arcadia Oklahoma. Just over 300 miles for a burger. Well arrived late in the afternoon and let me say the whole experience was worth the trip. I got the Pops burger, wow my new favorite burger anywhere. The fries I don't know what you seasoned them with but just great. Of course had to get some pop and some classic candy for the granddaughter. The staff was friendly as ever. So Pops has a parking area for just motorcycles, it's like a bike show just walking by. Well I said the whole experience was amazing. We walked through the bikes and another couple on a beautiful Honda Trike we stopped and talked to. I ended up talking about my last two years with them. They belong to a religious riding group, well we left with some great new friends. Over the years I've heard people friends and relatives talk about Pops 66 and every story was a positive one. And they all said I can't wait to go back again sometime. Well me too I think every April 9th I'm going to come here. Oh I do plan to come more than once a year. I belong to a female riding club on Kansas City. When I get back I'm going to see about leading a ride from KC to Pops 66 in the next month or two. This place is a gas station, soda station and diner rolled into one. The place is sectioned off, one side offering soda and the other a small diner. It is really crowded on Saturdays which makes it hard to really look at all the soda they offer. The diner inside the store serves hamburgers and hot dogs. Surprisingly they offered a kale salad too. Stopped by for a burger - have only been two or three times over the years - and was disappointed in the food again. I got a mushroom burger and it was utterly tasteless. The patty was of frozen origin and over cooked and no flavor (no seasoning or mayo or anything) and the fries were lukewarm. The service was pretty good, everything was clean (i watched a server doing her cleaning routine and she was phenomenally thorough). The store itself is small but I still had fun inside. There are so many different kinds of soda for sale. There is one soda called Barack O'berry. There are unusual drinks like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Red Velvelt Cookie Dough, Fudge Brownie Cookie Dough. I bought myself the Cookies 'N Cream soda and I loved it! There is a small fastfood restaurant inside the store, and a small dining area. I was recently in Oklahoma City, and ended up at this place. It looks more like an airplane museum from far away. However, when we got close, it clearly was land of pop. There was SO much soda there! It literally took me about 10 minutes to decide which ones to get. I wish they had a little tiny sampler platter of sodas or something. I decided on a black cherry soda, and it was delicious. I will preface this with: - yes, I tried to talk to the manager - yes, I emailed Pops the evening of the incident -yes, I followed up with a private message on FB (and I know they saw it) -NO Response to any of the above If you are looking for a summer attraction and place to eat I would not recommend Pop's in Arcadia unless you just want a large selection of soda. Went there last Sunday around 2:30 prior to dropping my daughter off at camp. Only time we saw our waitress (until I asked for her at the end) was when she took our order. Another waiter brought our meals to the table, no one came to the table to set how it was. After the second bite into my wrap I noticed they had not removed the paper that separates the cheese. After waiting for someone to come by the table for over 5 min, my daughter went up to tell another waitress. I guess they were going to remake it, but I had to guess because again no one came by the table. After waiting for another 10 min, and my daughter having finished her meal I went up to the front to find out what was happening with my order. The guy at the register knew nothing about what was going on, I described my waitress "oh I think she is out back or outside". The waitress that my daughter talked to came by and said "oh they are remaking your wrap, should be up soon". Which tells me the remake went back into the cue with the other orders not a "hey we messed up let's fix this". When it finally came out I asked for a to go container and my bill. The manager gave me the bill for the full amount (still no sign of my waitress) he responded with "we comped one of the wraps" - REALLY?!? The one they screwed up on they comped - so good of them. When I commented that I was not able to eat with my family for dinner he replied with "they got to eat right". So no I cannot recommend the over priced, no customer service Pops for a meal. read more
