    Fried pickles

This was our first visit to a Chicken Foot. Walking in, the interior reminded us of a Torchy's. You order, then seat yourself, and the bar is a separate tab. I ordered the spring chik'n salad crispy. My husband had the chicken and waffles, which was kind of skimpy on chicken. We shared the fried pickles. The chicken was great! Will definitely return. The waffles were tasty and the salad was fresh. The pickles were perfectly battered. The reasons I didn't rate a 5. They offer a happy hour menu, which I would suggest they try to push. The guy that took our order did not mention. We didn't see the sign until we sat down. We may have ordered additional apps if we had known. Second, we were charged for ranch! The unfortunate part is neither of us even like ranch. We didn't use it but we were charged 50 cents for it. An understandable cost if you realize you are being charged. We will not make that mistake again! I would suggest the cashier be more up front about hidden fees. Inside and outside was clean. Service was quick.

When I first saw the name of this restaurant, "Chicken Foot," I thought that it was a Chinese restaurant. It's not though, it is Chicken Foot with "Buns, Bones and Beer." A new restaurant on the west side of I-35 and just a couple of blocks south of the intersection with Old Route 66. The best brined and house breaded fried chicken in the OKC area. AND. The best chicken dive on the Mother Road, between Baxter Springs, KS and Texola, OK. The restaurant has a full bar. The menu covers salads, sandwiches, delicious sides, appetizers, and cinnamon rolls. They even have Brussel Sprouts if you are into that kind of a thing. Bright, modern inside, staffed with exceptionally friendly helpful employees. Order at the counter, get a number, grab a table, bar stool or booth. Fresh hot food is coming your way. My wife and I both knew what we were going to order. Just inside the door we grabbed a menu to double check that it matched the offerings on the website. The manager on duty was sitting at one of the tables, probably working with a vender. He broke off the conversation and walked over to greet and welcome us. He explained the menu and the ordering process. Up to the counter, where an energetic, outgoing young man took our order. Buttermilk Jalapeno cheddar waffle sliders for me, with habanero dipping sauce, and a Santa Fe Salad for my wife. I don't need to go into a lot of slobbering food details, just look at the frickin' pictures. I will offer this warning, the habanero dipping sauce could be used for hair remover. A bite with habanero dip, followed up with a bite dipped in the maple syrup, seemed to a be good combination that kept the flames down. A tasty but odd combination. My wife was hooked on the salad. Excellent Chicken! We loved the food. Local, or passing through on I-35 or Route 66, you have to try Chicken Foot. Was it named after the band Chickenfoot?

Easy menu. Delicious food. The green beans we're slamming! Very attentive employees. The manager checked on several times. Portions are excellent.

Great chicken here and also shakes/beverages - got the chicken and waffles, plus the honey butter biscuits and a shake that had a cinnamon twist or swirl flavor. All delicious. The service was also very prompt and they would take away finished plates, etc. Moreover, the interior ambiance was very cool with stylish displays of liquor or wine bottles being displayed all over. Finally, the general manager's name is James CLAWson, so because he runs this Chicken FOOT I don't know if you can find any better example of nominative determinism than that! Highly recommended once again!

Stopped in to check it out after numerous friends recommended it. The restaurant is brightly colored and well-lit, with a large, full bar in the center. TVs are placed all around, so even if you're sitting at the bar, you won't miss anything. Orders are placed at the counter, and you're given a number to hang at your table. They offer some interesting sides like fried green tomatoes, trashcan nachos, Okie Poutine, and Cinny Rolls! The fried chicken is the main attraction, so we tried the basic chicken sandwiches with fries and fried pickles. Oh, had to try the Honey Butter Biscuits! The portions were generous, and the sandwich, though requiring a knife and fork, was really tasty. The fries were excellent, with a great seasoning flavor, but the fried pickles were a bit thin for my taste. Overall, a great spot for satisfying your chicken craving! We'll definitely be back.

I love Chicken Foot! Shout out to Blake & Noah. John rocks trivia night Thursday! You won't be disappointed!

All secondary roads are still snow packed so at 11:30 there was only one other couple in the restrauant. The Press is in an old (1920's ?) repourposed building. The interior is comfortable, charming and a bit whimsical. We started with an order of cheese sticks. They were very good and large. I liked that the cheese sticks did not have Italian seasoning in the breading. Jan ordered the chicken fried ribeye with mashed potatoes, cream gravey and green beans. Jan loved it. I took a bite of the chicken fried steak and it was excellent. The green beans were very good. They were loaded with garlic, which I love, but if you're not a garlic fan, I would suggest another side. I ordered the grilled chicked sandwich with waffle fries. The sandwich was good and the waffle fries were excellent. The portions are large and the food quality excellent. The prices reasonable. The menu has variety. You can't go wrong by dining at The Press.

The patio space in the front was very secluded and lush, we had it entirely to ourselves. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. They even brought out a water bowl with ice for our pups. We loved our drinks. My espresso martini was boozy and not too sweet with a love whipped topping on top. Her Road to Hana was very refreshing and the pineapple tajin garnish hit the spot. Quick shout out to the dinner rolls and butter. I was starving so this held me over while our shareables came out. The Spicy Caesar was nice, loved the hit of heat that came with it. The Chicken Pepperjack Strudel, a signature dish, was really really good. Just wish it was warmer in the center but yea definitely order this. Juan's queso is not a typical queso dish. First, it's real cheese and it comes with a black bean puree, salsa verde, and avocado thinly sliced on top. We loved it, especially my wife. I came here with a large group of about 8 of us with a reservation made early on. We were seated in a nice, private room and had an overall very lovely experience! First of all, our server Trey was just spot on with all of his recommendations. He recommended the crab cakes, the halibut, and anything that came with the spicy shrimp risotto. Our table got crab cakes to start, and this was probably my favorite dish of the evening! The crab cake was large, fluffy, and full of lump crab topped with a spicy and delicious salsa verde and pico. For the entree I ordered the halibut which was cooked well, but the side of spicy shrimp risotto definitely stole the show (as Trey accurately predicted). Most of our party ordered this and everyone was pretty happy with it! For dessert, our table shared chocolate cake and the coconut creme pie. The chocolate cake was very rich and was probably one of the best chocolate cakes I've had, and I'm not a big chocolate cake person. I still definitely preferred the coconut creme pie, which I would order again next time! Our service was fantastic for the evening, and when Trey tells you to order something, trust him and do it!

In comparison to our previous Friday night experience where the food was fresh and delicious, last night's Monday evening dinner was stale and old. The pot roast was burned and obviously old, extremely salty, there was no gravy to speak of, and only two small carrots. The mashed potatoes were dry and looked reheated. The hash brown casserole was also stiff and not at all like it usually tastes. My husband ordered the chicken and it was dry and reheated. When the server finally came to check on us, I mentioned the pot roast was almost inedible and he offered to give me a different entree. He came back within 60 seconds with a piece of chicken I requested, but it was also dry. We were really disappointed overall, especially compared to our previous experience. For the first time ever, we left food on our plates and did not even take a to go box. We learned a lesson not to go on a day when the restaurant is not busy. Incidentally, the server removed the charge for my pot roast without even being asked, which I take as an admission that he realized it should not have been served. I appreciate the gesture, but my greater concern is that old food is going out to tables. Finally, biscuits were not brought until the entrées were delivered, which was a disappointment. I hope that they will take note of reviews and not serve old food. This was worse than a school cafeteria experience. Pictures are from our first review. I did not take pictures last night.
