I'm part of a local Oklahoma organization that does monthly meetings and today's host decided to have the get together at Sam's Southern Eatery. The service was amazing and food was good! Most of us go the special, which was 5 fried fish fillets and two sides. Our group ended up a bit bigger than normal, and so we had 35 in attendance. That didn't cause the wait staff any issues. Gizzards were all right, but a little salty catfish was actually hard, I have decided that eating there is way better than the to go however, if we're just one gizzards, this may be a good option. I like Sam's Southern Eatery because you can have your seafood at an affordable price. I have dined at several of the franchise locations around OKC and this location is consistent and delicious just like my experiences at other locations. Also, the owner is local and really cares about the experience of his customers and the quality of food that this location puts out. I was really happy to hear that Edmond was getting a Sam's and I will try to make this place my cheat meal (yea diets suck) as much I can! read more

I had been wanting to try this place since I saw its sign go up a month or two ago. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed and really enjoyed my dinner. The catfish had just the right amount of breading, way too many places have way too much and too little fish, and the fried shrimp was excellent, I also really enjoyed the side of red beans and rice that came with my meal. read more

The catfish was tough I couldn't cut it with a metal fork. The service was fine the restaurant had only one other table very quiet and slow for a Saturday. My dinner didn't look like the nice stock photo, not even hush puppies, the salad doesn't look like the stock photo and the taste wasn't anything special for the $30 we paid for a hamburger and the fish dinner. Food was iffy. Very hot in resturant. What upset us is they change prices. When I confronted them, they stated they add taxes on amount. So 3 of us got an item at 16.95. Mine was 17.50 when others were 17.12 and 17.99. Added over dollar on husbands plate. I wondered why he took forever at register to get tickets. Seemed to be adding money on prices. If it's a price on menu and big board on wall then you charge that price. Tickets also have sales tax on them. Cheating on prices. Check tickets well. read more

Fried Shrimp is great. That is the jumbo shrimp. The popcorn shrimp tastes fine but is nothing special compared to the jumbo. The texture and flavor is simply outstanding. Don't forget to try their sauces. They give an extra kick if you need that. read more

My husband and I have eaten there 3 to 4 times. I always get the chicken Philadelphia sandwich, which is really tasty. My only complaint is that as my side I always order hush puppies. I am still in disbelief that an order of hush puppies only consist of 3 small to medium sized hush puppies! This seems quite chintzy to me. I have even commented on the size of their order when they bring it to the table. Yes, I have the option to order a different side, but I go there wanting some hush puppies so I continue to order them. I just keep hoping they'll realize that three small to medium sized hush puppies is not enough. Service is good & facility is clean. read more
