    Breakfast Popover with No Meat
    Nicole I.

Got breakfast here during my stay in Hilo and I loved it! My husband and I shared the Breakfast Popover - it had so much flavor, we loved it! It was pretty big if you're not a huge breakfast eater, I would recommend splitting it. We also tried their puffs which were perfectly baked. The restaurant itself had a lot of seating available and restrooms as well. There was also a lot of parking. Would definitely come back!

The selection of pastries was fantastic-hard to choose, for sure! We were glad to share a breakfast sandwich popover, no way I could have finished one by myself. Friendly service, and plenty of seating inside & outside. Typical breakfast place ambiance!

If you're ever looking for a great place to grab a bite and a sweet treat, you should definitely stop by popover. The workers are always so friendly and helpful when I'm unsure what to get. I got the bbq chicken flatbread and it was HUGE. I could only eat a third of it and was stuffed! We also got a breakfast popover, which was also sooo ono and sooo filling! We went closer to closing time so the selection for desserts wasn't as full as usual, but we were still able to get a few pastries and cookies to-go.

I was in the area so decided to walk on over for a quick dessert and it was so worth it! The lilikoi and coconut doughnut is the perfect amount of sweet and fruity. Wish I could get this flavor back home! Also, the lady behind the counter was extremely sweet. Love supporting small businesses; they 100% deserve more customers! Note: you order at the counter and there's a lot of indoor seating to enjoy your sweets at!

This locally owned shop serves large popovers filled with delicious fillings. It is not a fancy location or area but this casual eatery is a breath of fresh air. There is plenty of free parking out front. You walk in and give your order at the counter. The lady behind the counter was working hard and very nice. The popover was so big and filled we both commented that this was a large breakfast! The puffs were just ok, not very crispy but that is hard to do in this humidity. The maple bacon donut had generous toppings. The big stars were the huge popovers.

This is a hole in the wall place outside of the main downtown area. The people were very friendly and the breakfast sandwiches were amazing!! High recommend.

Mango, coconut, lilikoi and chocolate puffs. Heavenly!!

Go! Just go and promise you won't be disappointed. This bakery is a hidden gem and the food is only surpassed by its awesome service. I needed a box of little pastry puffs for a client meeting and came back an hour later to get more for myself. The mango and chocolate ones were my favorites - just little snack sized pieces of fluffy heaven. I promise you- you will not be disappointed!!

Got a dozen they were so good!

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Coffee and donuts were great! Bought a dozen for the Soldiers....and it gets their seal of approval! Definitely stop by and grab a bite

Great service, indoor outdoor seating, amazing popovers with scrumptious fillings! Quiet, easy to work from, fast service.

Popover is a cafe nestled in what looks like a pretty industrial area. I almost mistook it for a car parts store, based on the facade. But Yelp had some great reviews, so off I went. First, the service is lovely, and I'm a huge fan of locally owned businesses! You can tell they care about their shop. I do wish I could give it a higher rating, but for me, the experience was just not what I was hoping for. The coffee was off, and especially since I've had amazing coffee my entire time so far in Hawaii, I was pretty disappointed by this brew. And then my pastry was also nothing to write home about. It tasted like any other brownie I've had, didn't stand out in any way, even with the macadamia nuts. The space itself was set up in an odd way, with two service stations flanking either side of the central seating area. It's also not the cleanest, overall. Sort of bracing its industrial setting, perhaps.

This little place looks just ok from the outside but don't be fooled it's amazing! We had the breakfast popovers and they were huge! I wish I had gotten donuts to go too because they were very unique and looked tasty.

Nicest people. Sorry only bought one popover that came with delicious lilikoi butter (so addicting). I would have bought more but traveling in a heated car is no fun. The purple yam scone was tempting, as was the lilikoi mochi.

Pop*on *over...to POPOVER in Hilo! A local family run business that creates cute and unique donut flavors. Not only do they have donuts, they have other baked sweets, coffee and sandwich items, too. We picked out half a dozen donuts to take home and enjoy. We chose the following : *Lilikoi + Coconut- light and airy with a nice blend of a sweet tarty coco nutty flavor. I enjoyed this donut! *Maple + Bacon- sweet and savory. Bacon sprinkles were generously topped on the donut with a chewy texture. *Cookies + Cream-niece's favorite and her go to *Vanilla + Sprinkles- colorful and yummy! *Pink D'oh-pretty in pink, but a little too sweet for my palate Check them out if you are hungry for donuts!

Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog. And if its good enough for Guy Hagi its where I want to be my next mealtime!

They did give samples in line though, so that was nice. I did wish I knew about the additional daily fresh fruit flavors beforehand though so that I could order those when I called! We arrived 15 minutes before opening and were first in the walk-in line. Right before opening, an employee came out and split the lines into "walk-in" and "phone order." Totally fine--except once they opened, they let all phone orders go first... and then continued calling more phone orders again while the walk-in line just stood there. Despite being first in the walk-in line, we waited over 45 minutes before they even started letting walk-ins inside. Meanwhile, we watched people leave the walk-in line, place phone orders, and get served ahead of us. The system is extremely frustrating and poorly managed. A better system would be alternating one customer from each line ! So ridiculous they can't figure this out . Once inside, it took another 20 minutes to get our order. To make matters worse, the order was incorrect and nothing was labeled, so we had no idea what we were eating. The mochi itself was also disappointing. The texture was unusually thick and had a strange, almost metallic taste. The strawberry was very sour, and the strawberry cake mochi was overly large, soggy, and honestly inedible. Overall, we wasted over an hour and a half here for a very underwhelming experience. The staff also weren't particularly welcoming or helpful. The two stars are for Hawaii's aloha spirit....otherwise, this would be a zero!

Found this cute little bake shop with great reviews on Yelp and had to check it out. Cardamom coffee cake was moist and full of sweet spicy goodness with chocolate chips sprinkled in. The sweet cinnamon goo rolled in the middle was so good and made me feel less guilty than when eating a Cinnabon. Not life changing for us, but good for those who appreciate that size. Because they close on Sundays and I was only there for the weekend, I went a little nuts. Also had to try the Lilikoi pie. It was different from those I've had on Kauai. This one had more of the consistency of a keylime pie which they also offer. It was tart abd good. Portions and sizes here are generous.
