Coffee Girl is no doubt one of the coffee spots Hilo can boast about although it wasn't super impressive in my opinion. This, however, is not to say that it doesn't have charms in it. Mostly in mint color, the interior is simple and yet it does emit a lot of cuteness. What was eye catching to us was the swing inside at one of the side windows. Whether it's okay for a person to actually sit on it to enjoy a little swing time is something I didn't find out from the young lady who manned the upfront bar by herself, if it's solely as a decorative piece to create the kind of ambiance this place suits to manifest, it does do a lot to attract visitors' attention. The lady was quiet and yet kind enough to give us everything we needed for the late morning walk into the town. My daughter and I wanted to split quads of espresso shots so that was our only order and yet we needed two separate cups with lots of ice in each cup with a little side cream (half and half) so we could make our own iced latte or cappuccino later (we didn't want ice immediately after the espresso was made as it would have diluted the coffee had it been made that way. Sounded like it was a little too much to ask which we felt a bit awkward. The kind lady simply did everything for us. Thanks to her for being so accommodating to our demanding needs!!) The shop is located from other businesses oceanfront so it's walkable to other things as long as you are talking "the center of Hilo". Very quaint girly coffee shop that makes a good coffee. Hubby got a mocha and gave it 4 stars. My chai is 3.5 stars as there wasn't much spice to it and they use a powdered mix. It got the spot though. Parking is easy and the shop is very cute. Remember to support your local business! read more

My friend raved about this place so I wanted to try it. Decided to try their ube matcha. My husband got a kona mud pie frappe. This place is so cute. It's pretty in there. We also decided to get a confetti muffin and a strawberry muffin. It was both very yummy. Service was quick and friendly! I liked my drink. Ube taste was good. My husband thought the kona mud pie was very coffee. Guess he was looking for a creamier milkier taste. We came back the next day before we had to jump on the plane back to Oahu. TLDR: Go and get yourself some Coffee Girl!! you won't be disappointed :) I came to Coffee Girl with my boyfriend right before our flight back to Oahu for a fun and energy-boosting sweet treat, and boy I was not disappointed! Coffee Girl had such a fun energy in it, and as a fellow lover of pink, I absolutely fell in love with the coffee shop's ambiance and color scheme. I also loved the fact that all of their flavors were so fun and playful; I personally had the Pink Machiatto, which was AN AMAZING strawberry Machiatto (perfect sweetness!) that scratched the itch I had for both coffee and a sweet treat. I honestly forget what my boyfriend had; all I remember is that usually, he doesn't like flavor in his coffee, but decided to try something with Macnut in it, and he was NOT disappointed because Coffee Girl was the first time he had a Macnut beverage with the Macnut flavor not being too overpowering. Again, we just came to Coffee Girl for a quick stop, but left with happy bellies and as satisfied customers (our receptionist was also so friendly and helpful with helping us choose between all of our options!) The only down side I would say is that the perfume smell in the coffee shop is a LIIIIITTLE too strong and if you're one like me who gets headaches frequently from heavy perfume/cologne smells, I would say enjoy the service and ambiance inside for a little bit, but I definitely would recommend a short walk with your beverage! read more

Love coffee, then this is the place! We feel in love with this little coffee cafe the moment we stepped in. Love is truly in the air. The selections of unique kinds of coffee creations will have your mind in awe. I had Ube milk, in mine and I enjoyed it so much. You can feel and taste the love for coffee here. The ambience was so romantic, sweet, boutique atmosphere was something that will put anyone in a good mood. I wish I had a place closer to home to take my girls to for mom and daughter dates. The attention to detail was incredible and so special. Our Barista Kora was the final piece of this puzzle. She was so sweet, made our drinks with such detail and had the best customer service. I've had coffee girl before which I really liked and got a latte this time which was a bit on the weaker side. I think I got the cold brew last time. The price is on the higher side. The decor is really nice and they have a variety of different drinks. Definitely a specialty coffee shop in comparison to your typical starbucks. I'll go back for the cold brew next time. read more

I initially came to the cafe to study and work before my final exams. The inside is a pretty, cute gold-pink theme with seasonal decorations. The baristas were lovely and were patient with me as I looked at the menu for the first time. I bought the mocha frappe, which is much better than what Starbucks offers! The whipped cream was so good, too! The seating was pretty and comfortable. During my studies, the barista offered me a drink! The second drink was a gingerbread one (I can't remember the name), and it was delicious, just like my previous one (which didn't last for more than 30 minutes). Coffee Girl is definitely for the girls (and guys) who love coffee just as much as I do. The service was impeccable, and the drinks never disappointed me. A very cute cafe saturated with pink and floral motifs. We stopped in for coffees and food items. As first time visitors, the staff was patient with us as we looked over the menu. They had a speciality/ seasonal menu with fun drink offerings. I ordered one called a campfire cold brew which was a fun take on s'mores. We also ordered multiple flavors of muffins which were very flavorful and moist! We were excited to share the muffins to taste all the variations they had to offer! Here's what I had this morning. * Pasteles Stew - When I tell you this pasteles stew just landed a spot on my top 5 list of best pasteles stews I've ever had, I am NOT joking! Coffee Girl's pasteles stew is one of the best I've ever had. The stew is beautifully balanced. The pork was tender and savory, and the herbs were fragrant and bright. I could taste a lot of garlic and also a slight sweetness, which I think is from onions. The olives always bring that tang, but there was also a subtle pepperiness that I loved, which I would guess is from cilantro. Whatever it is that they're putting in their stew, good lord! I need that recipe ASAP! Oh, and I almost forgot. There was one ingredient that I wasn't expecting because it's not typical or traditional: garbanzo beans! That threw me for a loop, but she GO! Rating: 100/10 (FLAWLESS) * Strawberry Kisses Frappe with Espresso - A beautiful marriage of strawberry, Oreo, and chocolate flavors in frappe form. This drink was pure bliss! It was blended perfectly and had just the right amount of froth. The espresso really helped to balance out the sweetness and liven up the party. This drink is TOP-TIER! Rating: 10/10 (UNREAL) * Strawberry Guava Cream Cheese Muffin - Stunning in every way! The muffin was moist and soft; the strawberry and guava flavors tasted natural/fresh and not artificial; the cream cheese added richness and creaminess, and the muffin was a "looker." zero stars. i went this morning to get one singular coffee. the two young girls before me also did not get a drink, i was waiting around 25 minutes. the owners friends came into the cafe maybe 6-8 people that all came after me. they were all getting their drinks before all of the people waiting before them. i had to get to work so i had to leave the store, i had already paid for my coffee too. this was probably the worst customer experience i have ever gotten. i left this shop with my heart feeling so heavy. i rather go to Starbucks then to ever get treated like this by a local shop ever again. #dontsupportlocalthatwontsupportyou read more

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent experiences. The first time I visited, we were told by either the manager or a regular employee that the stamp card policy was one stamp per visit. However, on a later visit, we were given three stamps, which was confusing and made it feel like the rules weren't consistent. In another visit, we had a pretty disappointing experience with a same staff member. We ordered two of the same drinks and confirmed the order was correct when it was repeated back to us--but one was completely forgotten, and the one we did get had whipped cream, even though we specifically asked for no whip. The response we got was just "my bad," and then we were expected to pay for the missing drink that wasn't made in the first place. It felt really dismissive and unprofessional. Overall, it was frustrating--especially given the higher prices. I was really hoping for a better experience given the positive things I'd heard about your business. read more

The first thing I said as we walked into the Coffee Girl Cafe was, "I want to live here!" I took a moment to take in the sweet and charming decor. It was definitely giving coffee girl vibes. The owner was patient, friendly and gave helpful suggestions with it being our first visit. Service was very quick if you're on the go, but I can definitely see myself taking some time to enjoy the romantic ambience that the Coffee Girl Cafe has to offer! I savored a White Chocolate Strawberry Frappe, which was the perfect balance of flavors without being too sweet. My sister in law ordered a Strawberry Lemonade, which she really enjoyed and wanted to know what their secret is to making it taste so good! I asked the owner if she rents out her space for private gatherings. She said yes for intimate ones such as a small bridal shower. So I don't usually do reviews but prompted to based on the quality and deliciousness of drinks and muffins my husband and I have has after 2 trips. I've tried the ube latte and the strawberry matcha latte, both excellent. You could always adjust sweetness if needed and you could tell they use quality ingredients! The muffins, though, wow so solid. Moist and so good! The staff is busy, but they're always still welcoming! Decor is clean, rosy and french vintage.
