My friend raved about this place so I wanted to try it. Decided to try their ube matcha. My husband got a kona mud pie frappe. This place is so cute. It's pretty in there. We also decided to get a confetti muffin and a strawberry muffin. It was both very yummy. Service was quick and friendly! I liked my drink. Ube taste was good. My husband thought the kona mud pie was very coffee. Guess he was looking for a creamier milkier taste. We came back the next day before we had to jump on the plane back to Oahu. The next day I got a pumpkin matcha and my husband got a cookies and creme frappe. He liked that drink more. When in Hilo, I'll be back!

TLDR: Go and get yourself some Coffee Girl!! you won't be disappointed :) I came to Coffee Girl with my boyfriend right before our flight back to Oahu for a fun and energy-boosting sweet treat, and boy I was not disappointed! Coffee Girl had such a fun energy in it, and as a fellow lover of pink, I absolutely fell in love with the coffee shop's ambiance and color scheme. I also loved the fact that all of their flavors were so fun and playful; I personally had the Pink Machiatto, which was AN AMAZING strawberry Machiatto (perfect sweetness!) that scratched the itch I had for both coffee and a sweet treat. I honestly forget what my boyfriend had; all I remember is that usually, he doesn't like flavor in his coffee, but decided to try something with Macnut in it, and he was NOT disappointed because Coffee Girl was the first time he had a Macnut beverage with the Macnut flavor not being too overpowering. Again, we just came to Coffee Girl for a quick stop, but left with happy bellies and as satisfied customers (our receptionist was also so friendly and helpful with helping us choose between all of our options!) The only down side I would say is that the perfume smell in the coffee shop is a LIIIIITTLE too strong and if you're one like me who gets headaches frequently from heavy perfume/cologne smells, I would say enjoy the service and ambiance inside for a little bit, but I definitely would recommend a short walk with your beverage!
Love coffee, then this is the place! We feel in love with this little coffee cafe the moment we stepped in. Love is truly in the air. The selections of unique kinds of coffee creations will have your mind in awe. I had Ube milk, in mine and I enjoyed it so much. You can feel and taste the love for coffee here. The ambience was so romantic, sweet, boutique atmosphere was something that will put anyone in a good mood. I wish I had a place closer to home to take my girls to for mom and daughter dates. The attention to detail was incredible and so special. Our Barista Kora was the final piece of this puzzle. She was so sweet, made our drinks with such detail and had the best customer service. She fit the theme of this place perfectly. I am so glad we had the pleasure of her helping guide us to the right drink choice for us.
We just happen to walk by this place and decided to go in. It was so cute with lots of pink flowers everywhere. We order a strawberry muffin which was soft and tasty. I ordered a match frappe and my husband ordered a americano. Both drinks were delicious. The staff were very friendly and worked quickly to get all their orders out. We shall return again.
Super cute coffee shop in Puainako center. The whole vibe and aesthetic of the inside is something I loved. It's not your usual mom and pop shop so this is new for Hilo lol. On the more pricier side ($14) for my toast but tasty. I didn't get any drinks so I'll have to come back and try them. As a huge matcha girly I hear it's really good so definitely coming back asap!!
This place was super cute, they had some really fun flavors coffees and yummy pastries. The place with pink with flowers, a great place to start our girly birthday celebration with my friends. My favorite were the muffins. They were so moist and delicious. The servers were super friendly, they have indoor seating. And a few back drops to take pictures.

Made a quick stop by here and got a flat white and a caramel frappe for my sister Vibes were cute and pink to summarize it. I like how they have a hello kitty theme seasonal menu. Workers were friendly, no complaints on the service. Flat white (no flavor added) was a bit over extracted to my liking but my sister enjoyed her caramel frappe. They have interesting flavor combinations so if you enjoy the sugar here would be a good idea to try.
I initially came to the cafe to study and work before my final exams. The inside is a pretty, cute gold-pink theme with seasonal decorations. The baristas were lovely and were patient with me as I looked at the menu for the first time. I bought the mocha frappe, which is much better than what Starbucks offers! The whipped cream was so good, too! The seating was pretty and comfortable. During my studies, the barista offered me a drink! The second drink was a gingerbread one (I can't remember the name), and it was delicious, just like my previous one (which didn't last for more than 30 minutes). Coffee Girl is definitely for the girls (and guys) who love coffee just as much as I do. The service was impeccable, and the drinks never disappointed me. Please check out this place and support this lovely café because I plan to visit every weekend!
I can't wait to come back and get their food! Amazing service and the picture perfect backdrops feed the ambiance making you feel like you're entering into another vibe! Very busy and I know why the coffee was so yummy I got the white chocolate Oreo I think it's called and my husband got the s'mores! It's made with yummy cold brew and half and half and the flavor is on point! Not too dark the coffee and not too sugary it really hit the muffins are really yummy my kids enjoyed and we were able to get three and split them and fed all of our family! Will for sure come back! The ladies were very nice and we even got to sit down and they welcomed my crazy kids! Mahalo Nui Loa for the great experience!!!
Came to hilo for a short day trip, and decided to check out the matcha coffee shops in the area. Coffee girl is so aesthetically pleasing! They had cute chairs and ig post worthy wall backgrounds. I love how everything is PINK! The service was very fast, maybe took 3 minutes to make. My strawberry oat matcha was delicious, but I did see they had some baked goods but opted out this visit. Coffee Girl is no doubt one of the coffee spots Hilo can boast about although it wasn't super impressive in my opinion. This, however, is not to say that it doesn't have charms in it. Mostly in mint color, the interior is simple and yet it does emit a lot of cuteness. What was eye catching to us was the swing inside at one of the side windows. Whether it's okay for a person to actually sit on it to enjoy a little swing time is something I didn't find out from the young lady who manned the upfront bar by herself, if it's solely as a decorative piece to create the kind of ambiance this place suits to manifest, it does do a lot to attract visitors' attention. The lady was quiet and yet kind enough to give us everything we needed for the late morning walk into the town. My daughter and I wanted to split quads of espresso shots so that was our only order and yet we needed two separate cups with lots of ice in each cup with a little side cream (half and half) so we could make our own iced latte or cappuccino later (we didn't want ice immediately after the espresso was made as it would have diluted the coffee had it been made that way. Sounded like it was a little too much to ask which we felt a bit awkward. The kind lady simply did everything for us. Thanks to her for being so accommodating to our demanding needs!!) The shop is located from other businesses oceanfront so it's walkable to other things as long as you are talking "the center of Hilo". So for the location, convenience, cute ambiance and patience in service, we enjoyed our quick pick up experience while we were in town. read more

Very quaint girly coffee shop that makes a good coffee. Hubby got a mocha and gave it 4 stars. My chai is 3.5 stars as there wasn't much spice to it and they use a powdered mix. It got the spot though. Parking is easy and the shop is very cute. Remember to support your local business! read more

They don't skimp on the quality of ingredients, so I appreciate that. You can taste the richness of the matcha, coconut milk and coffee, each adding its distinct characteristics. Love that they didn't put only a bit of matcha because I do love the strength and bitterness. read more

A very cute cafe saturated with pink and floral motifs. We stopped in for coffees and food items. As first time visitors, the staff was patient with us as we looked over the menu. They had a speciality/ seasonal menu with fun drink offerings. I ordered one called a campfire cold brew which was a fun take on s'mores. We also ordered multiple flavors of muffins which were very flavorful and moist! We were excited to share the muffins to taste all the variations they had to offer! The coffee shop is super adorable, very clean and well decorated. The girls working there were super helpful and friendly. The Ube Muffin was yummy! . We also had the avocado toast with tomatoes and cream cheese. It was simple yet satisfying. For drinks, we had a cappuccino and a chocolate Haupia latte (I believe it was a special for Merrie Monarch). Everything was great. Definitely would stop in when in town again! read more

We have been all over Oahu and the Big Island on vacation and this is the best coffee we have had. We are coffee snobs from NYC, and this place might have made the best cappuccino I've ever had. The service is punctual and professional as well. The ambiance very girly, but that is all in the name haha. It is clean and has strong AC. read more

Coffee Girl in Hilo is an Epicurean Gem known for its excellent drinks, food, and pastries. It's also the most "Instagramable" shop in town. Here's what I had this morning. * Pasteles Stew - When I tell you this pasteles stew just landed a spot on my top 5 list of best pasteles stews I've ever had, I am NOT joking! Coffee Girl's pasteles stew is one of the best I've ever had. The stew is beautifully balanced. The pork was tender and savory, and the herbs were fragrant and bright. I could taste a lot of garlic and also a slight sweetness, which I think is from onions. The olives always bring that tang, but there was also a subtle pepperiness that I loved, which I would guess is from cilantro. Whatever it is that they're putting in their stew, good lord! I need that recipe ASAP! Oh, and I almost forgot. There was one ingredient that I wasn't expecting because it's not typical or traditional: garbanzo beans! That threw me for a loop, but she GO! Rating: 100/10 (FLAWLESS) * Strawberry Kisses Frappe with Espresso - A beautiful marriage of strawberry, Oreo, and chocolate flavors in frappe form. This drink was pure bliss! It was blended perfectly and had just the right amount of froth. The espresso really helped to balance out the sweetness and liven up the party. This drink is TOP-TIER! Rating: 10/10 (UNREAL) * Strawberry Guava Cream Cheese Muffin - Stunning in every way! The muffin was moist and soft; the strawberry and guava flavors tasted natural/fresh and not artificial; the cream cheese added richness and creaminess, and the muffin was a "looker." She is definitely winning the Ms. Muffin 2024 pageant for sure! Rating: 100/10 (TAKE MY MONEY) Let me end by saying this. How the heck am I not a regular? @coffeegirlcafe is insane, and everyone needs to go there! Who can go back to Starbucks or Coffee Bean after getting a taste of @coffeegirlcafe? Wow, wow, wow! PS Always get your pastries warmed I also have to shout out the staff! The girls who helped me today were great! I didn't know what I wanted to drink, so I gave them some ideas of what I liked flavorwise, and they recommended the strawberry kisses drink. Best recommendation ever! We're visiting from NYC and wanted some ice coffee after visiting Akaka and Rainbow Falls. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try since the photos looked so cute and I loved the name. Coffee Girl was a totally unexpected cafe located in a generic shopping center. The decor was beautiful and elegant - reminded me of the pretty cafes in London. The drinks were delicious and sparkly, presented in such a lovely manner. The owner was very friendly and even apologized for the muffin I inquired about being sold out. The first thing I said as we walked into the Coffee Girl Cafe was, "I want to live here!" I took a moment to take in the sweet and charming decor. It was definitely giving coffee girl vibes. The owner was patient, friendly and gave helpful suggestions with it being our first visit. Service was very quick if you're on the go, but I can definitely see myself taking some time to enjoy the romantic ambience that the Coffee Girl Cafe has to offer! I savored a White Chocolate Strawberry Frappe, which was the perfect balance of flavors without being too sweet. My sister in law ordered a Strawberry Lemonade, which she really enjoyed and wanted to know what their secret is to making it taste so good! I asked the owner if she rents out her space for private gatherings. She said yes for intimate ones such as a small bridal shower. The cafe is conveniently located next to Sallys Beauty and Sack N Save in the Puainako Shopping Center in Hilo where there is normally ample parking. Go support a local owned coffee cafe! read more

Don't let the name fool you, there is something for everyone here. With a chock full menu of delicious year-round items and shifting seasonal goodies Coffee Girl guarantees you'll find something delicious for any day. The feel of the place definitely fit its name, and the employees were very kind, patient, and smiley. If I lived here you could count on me getting a Muffin any day I could because MAN they were top tier! read more

So I don't usually do reviews but prompted to based on the quality and deliciousness of drinks and muffins my husband and I have has after 2 trips. I've tried the ube latte and the strawberry matcha latte, both excellent. You could always adjust sweetness if needed and you could tell they use quality ingredients! The muffins, though, wow so solid. Moist and so good! The staff is busy, but they're always still welcoming! Decor is clean, rosy and french vintage. Please continue to be a bright coffee spot in Hilo. It is on the pricey side, but I guess you're paying for quality. Thoroughly enjoy it there so far read more

It was a little on the pricey side, not somewhere I would go everyday. But being on vacation, I wanted to take my wife there cause she enjoys coffee and pastries. Two lattes and a strawberry muffin came out to around $20 read more
