Came here because the hours on here said they were open until 7. We got there a few minutes before 6 and they told us "This side is closing soon" even though the new hours on the front were posted and they were until 7 as well. First, maybe keep the correct hours, second, when I worked in the food industry, we were taking orders all the way up until the last second. If we closed at midnight, we took orders until midnight. Cafe closes at 6, not 8. Couldn't even buy my kid a candy. Really all you could do was play the claw games. So if they are different businesses don't advertise the hours as open til 8. read more

The staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable on how to make the drinks better! On my first visit with my friends, we were a bit clueless how to order and we left it up to them! All of us loved it so much! I also did not realize until second visit that we can add condensed milk wall which I love!! It could get your drinks a bit sweet but it's good topping to have boba. The store has cute backdrop for photo too and sell lots of other teas , snacks, and jerky's! read more

I'll start by saying this is only the second time in my life I've gone to a boba tea place, so my opinion isn't that of a regular boba drinker. I was out in town running errands and was looking for an open bakery, which on Sunday in Hilo apparently isn't possible. Anyway, saw this place was open so decided to try it out. I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection and options, so decided to try one of their pictured specials. I think subconsciously because it's summer, I decided to try the s'mores drink. They offered a lot of options (though they were out of boba, a bit unexpected). I went without jelly or whatever the other additive was, but went with the whipped cream and 1% milk. I must say, it was a tasty drink. Very sweet, not something I'd get all the time. It was basically a dessert milk shake. I'll definitely go there again with my husband and kids, but it's definitely a special occasion thing. Not sure how people are able to drink those all the time, and also not sure how other reviewers could call those drinks not sweet or watered down. Perhaps it was less sweet than normal boba teas, but I wouldn't know and honestly if it were any sweeter, I'd have felt sick. The price was a bit high, but again, perhaps that's typical. read more

As soon as I entered I was greeted by a very helpful worker. She had helped me pick out gifts for my in laws who were in town for the week. She even mentioned they were having a sale on there crystals which also was nothing short of great. Many to choose from. I will surely be back. read more

If you like your tea sweet, you may want to ask how sweet they are when you order as my partner's tea wasn't sweet at all. After reading these other reviews, you know you need to try them out for yourself. I've been there multiple of times and was never disappointed my drinks never came watery or watered down. I'm sort of a boba fanatic. So I got pretty excited when I saw this new shop open up. Ambiance is super cute, definitely seems like a tea shop, lots of different teas to purchase on shelving. Also some crystal displays. Some other little snacks and cute stuffed boba drinks. Reason for 2 stars - the drinks were really just average. I only saw powders, which I'm able to Purchase and make from home (which our family does, often). The drinks were incredibly milky, I really just tasted cow milk with a hint of our flavors. Also the powders were detectable in the drink, grainy like. Had a hard time finishing mine, which never happens to me. We may be back for cute tea gifts, but not back for drinks/boba, we will stick to our other Hilo favorites for that. There wasn't anyone in the shop when we arrived. We weren't really greeted until we approached the counter to order, and our cashier was very quiet, not super personable. Would hope for a more friendly outgoing person running the front end. read more

I came in & ordered 2 regular sweet - milk teas. Got in the car & realized it was just watered down purple coconut milk with unsweetened boba balls. Looking forward to trying again in the future. I was so excited when I found out about this new boba place since it was near my house. Went in on their first grand opening and ordered two drinks. It took them a while to make my two drinks even though there was no one there (I guess that is understandable since it was their first day). But was super disappointed because both of my drinks were super watery, like it was so watery that I ended up throwing both of them away. Might go back to give it another try when things are settled...hopefully they will get their drink formulas in order by that time. read more

I came here because i thought it would be nice to try a different boba store instead of teapresso. I ordered a large taro milk tea with boba. I received a small. The "taro" tea was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like spoiled milk with no traces of taro flavor at all. My mom got the oreo fudge special and it was pretty good but they didn't tell her that the oreos and chocolate sides were extra. I now have a sore stomach. Thanks tea time. Super cute store! I feel like they have more potential to become a really cute boba cafe but majority of the space inside is used for snacks and merchandise you can purchase sort of like a convenience store, which isn't a bad thing, but I feel is a bit overwhelming. It wasn't busy and the service was fast. I had ordered the Taro Milk Tea with large boba and my husband had ordered the Original Milk Tea with large boba. When I took my first sip, I got some undissolved taro milk tea powder. I mixed it in hopes it would dissolve, but it was fairly very grainy throughout the whole time I was drinking it. It was very milky, I didn't really get much taro flavor. On the bright side, the boba was good, soft and chewy. My husband's Original Milk Tea was better than mine. He said it was a little too milk forward for him, but you could taste the tea. Boba again, was good. They definitely have a lot of potential, just needs some tweaks here and there. I'd give them another try again sometime down the line. read more

While driving around Hilo doing the dreaded daily errands I happened to see a lovely new shop named Tea Time Hawaii. When I entered I was greeted by a friendly staff kind enough to help me chose my beverage . The menu is a extensive with much to offer not only tea drinkers but Java enthusiasts as well as a local twist for your palate. I went with the tall iced taro drink, added condensed milk, coconut lychee and large boba. The flavors were spot for a warm day with no AC in my vehicle. If I could I'd give Tea Time 10 stars!!!!
